slytherin. my personal take on a spawn of voldemort, placed on the marauders era. penelope, poor sweet girl, she’s a slytherin and she accepted very early in life she will never scape her fathers claws. she bonded with severus in their second year due to having daddy issues and she dragged him to places when lily dropped him for good ( and with good reason. we don’t do excuses for our boy here ) but they had a similar fallout when severus got his dark mark.

ravenclaw. you know, you love her. she’s our resident smartass and star girl. she takes no shit, she’s gay, she’s intellectually inclined and curious and a bit of dark academia icon. she was born in a muggle town really close to hogwarts and spent ten years of her life telling everyone about the castle on the hill while no one believed her.

slytherin, an exchange student from castelobruxo with an unusual approach to magic itself and a talent for divination and herbology, specially herbs. cassandra arrived at the school on fifth year and missed her homeland, trying to the dictatorships aplenty of south america in the 70s and ending up in another war, she broke off with her house and friendship and joined the order of the phoenix. her bond with severus and aurora was based on being a big brain bad bitch who really liked exploring the exploring magic itself. snape had his spells, aurora had her star and cassandra has tarot, herbs and tea leaves.

charity burbage, zoe colletti :

hufflepuff. the future co-worker and a surprising ray of sunshine and colors and glitter in a sea of ironic, bookworms, lovers of all things dark and gloomy. charity is not the kind of person you would expect to get along with the rest of the group but she works and they all work together. she’s severus hugest ride or die, even in their adulthood when all the other girlies are a bit distance from the rest and haven’t heard from cassandra since their graduation.

It's kinda shocking to me how few people seem to know how prevalent the 'my great grandmother was cherokee' myth is and how it's almost never actually true, especially when it comes with things like 'never signed up' or 'fell off the trail' or 'courthouse burned down destorying the documentation' etc etc.

People just don't even seem to know the history like.. when the Trail happened. My great great great grandfather was 2 years old during Removal in 1838, so peoples 'my great grandmother hid in the mountains!' is so clearly wrong. And we have rolls. From before and after removal, rolls done by cherokee nation and others by the government, rolls that were not stored in one random flammable courthouse. It's not difficult to find the actual evidence of ancestry.

And just.. there are lots of ways those family stories get started. It was a practice during the confederacy to claim cherokee ancestry to show one's family had 'deep roots in the south' that they were there before the cherokee were removed. Many people pretended to be cherokee and applied for the Guion-Miller payout just to try to steal money meant for cherokees - 2/3rds of the applicants were denied for having 0 proof of actual cherokee ancestry. [We even see lawyers advertising signing up for the Miller roll just to try to get free money.] And the myth even started in some families in the cherokee land lotteries, where the land stolen from us was raffled off, including the house and everything that was left behind when the cherokees were removed. We have seen people whose families just take these things stolen from the cherokee family and adopt them into their own family story, saying that they were cherokee themselves.

If you had some family story about being cherokee and you wanna have proof one way or the other, check out this Facebook group run by expert cherokee genealogists that do research for free. Just please read the rules fully and respect the researchers. They run thousands of people's ancestries a year and their average is only around 0.7% of lines they run actually end up having true cherokee ancestry.

Legacy already thinks that you purr! it's when you hum in satisfaction, or let out a contented sigh or exhale in relief- but to hear you try and imitate his deep, rolling purrs makes him unbelievably happy. Abyssal monsters actually don't purr that much unless they're feeling safe and comfortable- but Foul Legacy always feels at home around you, and he purrs constantly as a way of conveying that. to hear you purr in your own way shows that you're comfortable near him as well, you feel safe around a monster such as him. he loves you and you love him, and he couldn't be more delighted

The dramatic irony of everything happening with Jojo Siwa is so fucking hilarious

First she exploits a disabled child -not hilarious- repeats the cycle of abuse that she was subjected to on dance moms with her own show, allegedly cheats on her girlfriend, etc, etc. then she goes through her “switch” and goes through her 14 year old emo phase at 20.

Tell me why this kid has the audacity to sing a song called Karma.

She tries so hard. She’s trying so hard to make it seem like she’s making the most dramatic change of her generation, she’s completely changed, no more rainbow glitter dance moms now we have emo sparkle darkness revenge fairy. She wants people to think she wrote Karma. She talks about her writing process, and she says how brilliant she is for thinking it up, but she also says that it was pitched to her a few times so we can’t accuse her of lying.

I think on paper this plan was probably a great idea, a chance to break out of her reputation for bows and glitter, but the execution is nothing but a disappointment. I think instead of going emo and taking inspiration from things she doesn't understand and being genuine, the switch honestly could've been welcomed with open arms but she's not genuine and she doesn't want to make a natural switch. She wants to be risky because she thinks it'll make her look cool or someone higher up decided for her and she went along with it because that's what'd make more money or maybe her mom made her.

Once it came out that Jojo didn't only not write the song herself, she wasn't even the first one to record it, that's when the irony of the situation kicks in. I know absolutely nothing about Brit Smith but she's and icon and I love her with my whole heart.

Brit Smith releasing her version of Karma and it doing better than Jojos is my favorite form of dramatic irony because of course this all happened to a song named Karma.

Hey @cobrilee, are you good with hockey history, too? I was at the United Center in Chicago tonight for a Madonna concert (wonderful, iconic, life-changing) and they had all the championship banners up. (Cleveland...does not have championship banners.) Some of the banners were for "Western Division Champs" and "Central Division Champs" and those made sense, but what the heck are the "Norris" and "Smythe" divisions? There were also some weird ones on the other side that I couldn't get a picture of. Did hockey name divisions after random people for a while?
