also!!! neil calling his dad sir. obviously its something so glaringly obvious that we dont need to have a discussion abt how theres a disconnect between them. like wow rly thanks mona i didnt know. but come on!!! it makes me sad!!! also they shake hands later in this scene and its the most affectionate/ friendly we see these two get. and its a handshake. and i think what makes it worse is that neil is a SUPER physically affectionate person with his friends. if u watch the movie and pay attention to how often he's touching someone else then ur gonna be like man. he rly was jumping at every opportunity huh.

something about the way neil and the boys act around mr perry makes me view him as more of a drill sargent than anything. everyone immediately stands upon him entering the room. they dont sit until given permission. it rly puts the whole military school thing into perspective but NOT ENOUGH TO SATISFY ME. as much as i hate mr perry, i wanna know what his life was like growing up. this man lived thru the great depression AND wwii, theres stories.

cam's stupid fucking face when keatings behind him larping ghosts. i will never stop talking about how sassy this kid is. the dps redheads go criminally unacknowledged in terms of comedy because OH MY GOD. CAM AND MEEKS WERE SO FUCKING FUNNY??? they both pulled the most dastardly judgemental looks and they make me cackle. a bit earlier in this scene meeks goes full 🙄🤨 on sniffles (tissue kid. i call him sniffles) and it is, without exaggeration, my fav part of the movie.

the fact that i totally thought knox was gonna fall off his bike and eat shit in this scene. it would be so out of place since dps isn't exactly full of physical comedy but GOD i still fully anticipated it. either that or him getting attacked by a bird. theres totally symbolism surrounding birds in this movie btw and idk what to make of it. if any of u lovely ppl have a theory then lmk immediately.

keating so accurately calling cam out being like "is this right is this right. am i walking right." BC YESSS. i will eventually make a fully fledged cam post but to briefly touch on it, i find cam to be very confused on what is right, usually in terms of morals. a whole situation of confusing your personal values with the rules, thinking theyre one in the same, and completely abandoning what u actually believe. unfortunately i think neils death rly amplified that nd is what led him to tattle. cuz cam is still willing to break the rules in the beginning of the movie!! he's outwardly judgemental but he still does it!! much to discuss, i promise i will eventually.

u guys know im an avid knox hater but this made me giggle. rip knox overstreet u wouldve loved twitch streaming.

THE SPECIFICS OF THIS SHOT. i was gonna make a post a while ago being like "idk i find it funny that the main focus of this shot isnt even one of the poets" and then i realised that WAITTTTTTT THATS THE POINT!!!! keating reached kids besides the poets!!! u didnt have to be in the dead poets society to be affected by the way he taught his classes!!! u just had to be his student!!!!! also i love the fact that the kids who stayed seated r ASHAMED. EMBARRASSED.

the ending shot. oihghgghgg. it was SUCH a choice to set it up this way and honestly i adore peter for making it. this shot is SOOOO UNCOMFORTABLE TO LOOK AT and i love it. when i first watched this i was like "uhm ok interesting choice putting todd between this kids legs but I GET IT. one of the biggest things i remember from the film classes i took is that the way u set up shots is sooo important narratively, and one way to rly push the narrative is the space around a character in a shot. for example! if u have a character on screen surrounded by a TON of negative space then it rly emphasises how alone/ isolated they are. on the other end of the spectrum (the todd spectrum), if you surround a character in a shot with other objects or obstructions, like todd and this kids legs, then it rly emphasises how trapped and confined they are. looking at this makes me feel like. claustrophobic almost, like it's genuinely a bit harder to breathe looking at it. TODD IS STILL TRAPPED IN THAT SCHOOL. YES HE STOOD ON THE DESK AND YES HE NOW HAS THE MOTIVATION TO BE MORE CONFIDENT BC OF NEIL BUT HE! IS STILL! TRAPPED THERE!

i was also gonna add that we dont rly talk about todd personality wise outside of poetry and anxiety but then i realised, what else is there? we dont really see much about him as a person outside of that, and i think thats the point! todd is constantly overshadowed by his brother, we know that, but i dont think we realise HOW MUCH that ties in with his entire character. quite honestly, outside of poetry and anxiety, ALL we have surrounding todd is his brother and his achievements. and of course! that makes sense! his parents want him to be just like his brother, they dont care about who he is as a person. UGH.

the desk set scene rly is the most insight we'll get into todds actual personality and desires imo, and thats what kills me. he wants a car!!!! get this boy a car!!!!!!!!! we rly see him start to open up before neils death and i wouldve LOVED to get to know todd when he's actually in a place to be himself!! but of course we never got that! sobs.

“Give me the vest.” Mike tried to command to his sister, but it was to no use.

“No. Me and Y/N are coming with you.” Abby replied on a taunting tone.

“ Are we?” you said, looking up from your book, and the death stare Abby gave you left you no choice but to follow her.

“Please.” Abby begged, doing her signature puppy eyes.

“No.” Mike replied sternly.

"What?! You can't say no to her, especially not with those puppy eyes!!" you chimed in, doing puppy eyes as well, hoping it would persuade him.

“Fine” he sighs, and you and Abby exchanged a hearty high five. “But only if you come with us as well, Y/N.”

“Fine by me!” you reply with an eager smile. “Come on Abby, let’s get ready!”

The happy trio then found itself impatiently sitting in the car, while the radio was silently playing Talking in your sleep.

A few moments later, you all three arrived n front of the abandoned pizzeria.

“Don’t get your hopes up, okay?” Mike warned as you were entering the building. “Just… Do whatever while I’m watching the cameras. Y/N? (you turn your head to look at him) I’m counting on you, you’re the adult, you take care of Abby, okay ? (you nod) And you, Abby, don’t be too much of a trouble, okay?”

“Mhm!” she agreed excitedly.

A few moments later, you and Abby found yourselves discovering all the oddities of the ancient pizzeria, but one in particular caught your eyes.

“Look at that muffin!” you say to Abby as you point your flashlight towards a muffin with a pink icing and some gloomy yellow eyes. “Imagine if it started chasing you here, what would you do?”

“I sure wouldn’t want that to happen” Abby chuckled as you switched rooms, not paying attention to the now moving muffin.

On the other hand, boredom seemed to have gotten the best of Mike. After all, if nothing tragic happened in this pizzeria in over 30 years, the bite of 87 aside, why would it change now?

That’s how our dear camera monitor ended falling asleep, the soft noise of the cameras’ static slowly lulling him, but he shouldn't have…

You and Abby kept on exploring the various and numerous rooms, and found a room full of blanket of pillows and blankets.

“Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” you ask Abby as you give her a mischievous look.

“If you’re thinking about building a pillow fort, then totally!!” Abby replied cheerfully. “We should do it in the main plaza!”

“Yes!! Start off with bringing these there, I’ll take the rest!” you say as you hand her a few blankets.

A few moments later, you and Abby started running out of blankets, so you decided to take the ones who were covering some oddly tall figures.

“What the- oh my god this is awfully terrifying” you say as you uncovered a strange purple bunny looking animatronic.

Should you have left? Of course. But you somehow couldn’t take your eyes off of the strange creature before your eyes. Its red eyes were staring back at yours, and something felt off, but you couldn’t put your finger on it. It’s as if the creature in front of you was…

Alive.

“Help!!” you tried to scream, but nobody could hear you.

Strange, Mike thought as he noticed one of the cameras stopped working. I should check what’s going on there.

“Abby?” he asked as he headed towards the main plaza. “Do you know where is Y/N?”

“They’re in the storage room, we are going to build a pillow fort!” Abby replied cheerfully.

Mike then rushed to the storage room where he thought you were, where he noticed you silently studying the purple robot-looking bunny.

As you tilted your head in curiosity, the robot did the same, and you couldn’t help but to find it endearing.

"Oh my God, I thought something bad happened to you," Mike sighed, relieved to see you alive and well. "Are you the one who screamed earlier?"

“Yes” you admit with a sheepish smile. “That’s because he didn’t want to put me down.”

“Okay...” Mike replied, slightlty doubtful.

“By the way,his name is Bonnie! Bonnie, this is Mike, my best friend!” you said with a smile. “He can be of good use for taking all the pillows we need to the plaza!”

A few hours pass as the night comes to an end, and time to head back home arrived.

Both you and Abby fell asleep in the car, lulled by the smooth roaring of the car.

“Y/N?” Mike called you after Abby went to sleep. “Can I tell you something?”

“Sure, but what’s with the serious face?” you ask him, starting to get worried.

“Nothing I just…” Mike sighed. “I’m just glad you’re safe. The animatronics can get dangerous at times.”

“There’s something you’re not telling me.” You point out. “Whatever it is, you can tell me, I’m your best friend, I won’t judge.”

Mike sighed deeply before saying:

“If I got so worried about you, it’s because I thought I would lose you. And I couldn’t bear losing the one I love.”

“Is that… A confession?” you ask, not wanting a misunderstanding.

“What else do you want it to be” he replied, smiling awkwardly.

“Well” you chuckle, “I’m surprised you beat me to it. It’s been a while since I wanted to confess as well.”

“Wait, really??” (you nod with a soft smile) “So, does that mean that we’re, you know, dating?”

-see, leon is a firm believer that a person cannot come to their best senses unless their basic/psychological needs are fulfilled. that includes things like eating, or affection—because when your body senses that you're lacking in something, it will use your brain power to signal you that you need to eat or be smothered with affection! hence you can end up feeling burnt out if u dont pay attention to ur love vitals!! >:(

-leon's mindset will always be applied on you because you're his second heart, you're his tough rock and you need to be taken care of!!

-HE KNOWS WHAT YOU'RE THINKING "affection? that's absurd people can still learn attentively and work efficiently without having to be coddled >:(" while yes in a sense its true—but sometimes you just don't realize that what you need is some time to be vulnerable and intimate, which can explain why your emotions feel a lot more heightened recently than usual (which he notices by the way). you've been tense for a while, and leon reasons that you can't just 'move on' from being overwhelmed with work stress and whatnot—you have to relieve it! but enough about theory.

-your hunger for food or affection is like a 7th sense to leon to be honest. while it's not an accurate intuition everytime, he's bound to think of you once every like two minutes.

-leon actually has very clear and high critical thinking skills. this means he is able to remember a lot of things about you even if he only notices them or you mention it once: this includes your comfort drink, where you like to be touched, hell maybe even the MBTI of your favorite character. and he ESPECIALLY knows what food you like. pad thai, sushi, oxtail, jerk chicken, cake, boba, YOU NAME IT HE KNOWS IF YOU LOVE IT OR NOT

-so when it actually came to asking you what you wanted, he'd send a text saying he's downtown and asking you 'what would you like, baby?'. he's careful with his words and doesn't say "do you want me to get you something on the way?" because it means he's giving you a choice >:( when the whole point is to spoil you because you deserve it.

-and if you answer with something vague like 'anything' HE DOESN'T MAKE YOU SPEAK FURTHER he'll just buy what he knows u like and keep the rest in the fridge if you dont wanna eat it :3 well that's what they're for, right?

"oh, my sweet.." his voice was quaint at the sight of you. leon tried his best to be silent when he entered the room, not wanting to sound like he was pitying you, but seeing you half-covered with comforters, mildly upset and your mind in a frazzle has his heart dropping a bit. you were probably thinking about so many things: meeting some deadlines, picking up this and that from the store, computing this... but you just couldn't organize your thoughts. but that's why leon was here.

your head moved to swivel his direction. "leon.." you smile at him weakly.

it was cold in the city tonight. leon places a hefty white plastic bag of your favorite on the nearby surface before he sits down in front of you from the edge of your bed. he takes the brief second of studying his lover's face before he pulls you into a comforting and warm hug. he can't help but pat the back of his sweet baby's head down, and you feel his lips barely nuzzle onto your ear as he mutters. "y're so good to me, baby. you know that?" leon reminds you before kissing the side of your head shortly. you tried to reciprocate it by giving him a nimble kiss on his cheek, which he gratefully accepts with an eager beam on his lips.

his hands slide down your arms in a soft stroke as he lets go of you gently. the rustling of the bed's layers being heard as leon moves a bit to reach for the hefty boxes of food, which he opens for you once he gives you take your utensil/s. leon's happy seeing you eat. it's a form of reassurance to him personally witnessing you getting the fill you deserve after a whole few days of being so busy and rushing everywhere. it's a calming sense to him as you both soak in comfortable silence while he watches you eat. he was caring less that it's 2 in the morning and caring more about the way the color on your face slowly vibrates back onto your features. you seem less tired, just by a tad percentage. it makes him smile to himself knowing he was able to take care of you. " 'm finished." you mumbled with a hum, feeling a little full and having to lie down. fullness makes you sleepy (and leon knows that!) so he has a subtle, cheeky little grin as he leans over and collects your legs with one arm, pulling you to make you lie on your back. he crawls over to lie down next to you, once again pulling you close to him while he wraps his arms around you— one patting and planted gently on your back while the other cradles your head close to his heart. just where you belong... "you tired, baby?" leon asked shortly and your little nod sufficed. his cheek gently rests against the side of the crown of your head. his touch is soft, it's sweet as he rubs and scratches down your back gently. he gently scruffles at your scalp with his other hand's fingertips, and the motions will send you to a hopefully revitalizing sleep ♡. he places a kiss on the top of your head, like a ribbon keeping its gift from falling apart :( he knows at this moment maybe you're thinking you don't deserve him. but that's so far from the truth.

I just read your analysis on marius and emotional distancing and I agree! I think on top of that, he's also the type to bottle it up, if that's the right term for it.

There's one Marius scene that really stuck with me, above all the romantic stuff. (i don't remember which story it's from, i just remember what he did). Marius was talking about something traumatizing, then in the blink of an eye, he was smirking at us, all smug and asking us if we really fell for it.

Once I noticed that, I start noticing it in all Marius angst stories. Every time he talks about something traumatizing, he typically changes the topic in the middle. Which is to be expected when it's something that traumatizes him, but the thing is, the trauma gets mentioned, and we see him being vulnerable. Then, it's like a switch flicks in his head. Like "Oh wait, I'm talking to jiejie", and he immediately clams up and starts teasing us, going back to the flirty brat we met at the start.

I can't think of a single time when he mentions something traumatizing, and we actually get him being completely vulnerable as he tells us about it all, not just part of it before he swaps to flirty and confident mode.

I was kidding when I told some of my friends that "marius is the type to be having an emotional breakdown and saying 'i'm fine, it's fine, why do you think i need help'", but now I think it could actually happen.

hi roshie-writes!! first off, im v sorry im getting to this ask very late OTL but im happy to hear u agree with that analysis :D

additionally, this ask is rlly interesting cuz yEPPPPPP, I AGREE ON ALL THIS TOO

that whole thing of Drops Vulnerability And Then Shifts To Playful Aloofness is SO VERY common in marius stories, and i personally first clocked it in the Lost Gold event. in like, the very first scene of his LG route, marius tells mc that she must think him naive for wanting to trust bryce and in general just confesses some insecurities hes got. and then the moment mc shows him sincerity, concern, and worry, he immediately shifts and is like "AWWWW UR WORRIED ABOUT ME >:3c" which makes me (and mc) wanna affectionately strangle him.

another more recent instance of this tendency happens in his blossom chapter personal story 4, right when he actually tells the full story of the Basement Incident. and then not like 5 lines after that, he gets flirty, glosses OVER ALL OF THAT WORRYING INFORMATION, and then says "Yeah, that's my good girl" to mc with a smirk on his face.

this personal story 4 instance stands out to me for three reasons:

1) simply cuz the Basement Incident full story lives in my mind rent free and

2) the "Yeah, that's my good girl" is notorious cuz i regularly see screencaps of that line do rounds on twt with ppl simping over it, me included, cuz my god marius KNOWS how to be flirty, like, lemme just drop the screencap cuz Im Not Immune To Marius von Hagen

and 3) the fact that this above screencap regularly makes rounds w ppl going crazy over how hes a flirty bastard (affectionate) really makes me go nuts cuz.....aGAIN. HE DID THIS LIKE 2 SECONDS AFTER CONFESSING HE NEARLY DIED AS A CHILD. LIKE...to an extent, his deflection here worked even outside of the realm of the in-game story itself, it's working on the players too cuz we're busy going MARIUS! VON! HAGEN! over the flirting that, again, attention is taken away from the thing he doesnt want anybody to pay attention to

HE CANT KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS........

i talk a little bit abt this bait-n-switch tendency of his in an old analysis i wrote, marius von hagen, facade vs. sincerity, harsh truths vs. persisting hope, and my thought abt this tendency hasnt changed from the insight i gathered back then, which went:

marius casually has the tendency to “act” a certain way to get things like praise and reassurance, which could arguably interpreted as him using facades (which in this situation i think is actually him just saying theyre facades, theyre actually sincere, but he hides that, says it’s just an act) to acquire the deep seated sincerity he wishes. here, facade is a medium by which to acquire sincerity from others. 

this is partly because of what you say which i agree with. he still wants people to care about him (because thats an innately human desire we All want) but at some point, he realizes hes talking to mc and hes gotta dial it back. and why does he dial it back? because he doesnt want her to worry. she matters to him, and he doesnt want her to be upset over him, so shifting the conversation into something playful can effectively stop worry in its tracks or, at the very least, delay it.

but i also think this is because revealing these gutpunch things like trauma or insecurities is, at the end of the day, a vulnerability

and marius is in a position where he cannot be vulnerable. vulnerability can put him (and maybe even people who matter to him too) in danger.

as much as his deflection, disconnection, and repression is a method for him to deal with his own things himself, these methods are also a way for him to protect against others. he needs to act like these vulnerabilities dont matter to him at all, because then theyre less likely to become weakpoints for an enemy to exploit.

and marius is also in a position where hes got a Lot of enemies. so many people would quite like it if they had something to hold over the head of Pax, mr interim-CEO himself

it's at times like these i really appreciate that marius' nxx codename is King, because it is sosososoososoo fitting for him, specifically due to the chess definition of the term.

the king is simultaneously the most important piece (which garners many enemies and ensures everybody wants to be able to put the king in check or checkmate), AND arguably the weakest piece too (full of vulnerabilities and weakpoints that need to be Constantly guarded against). the king is literally a piece thats meant to be hunted and protected, because thats the entire point of the game, and thats a lot of what marius has to deal with too. marius, to me, feels like hes constantly playing 4D chess in an effort to protect himself and make it look like hes protecting no weakpoints at all, weakpoints Dont Exist, if u saw them, no u didnt, because he needs to appear invincible

all eyes are always on him, for better or for worse. and when everybody is watching, allies and enemies alike, it seems way smarter to just hide and minimize vulnerability completely than to risk getting stabbed in the back for it.

i love your fics sm. any tips for ppl learning to write? whats your process like?

ah!!! me??? shucks! thank you so much! i never feel like i am qualified at all to give tips or advice but because you so kindly asked, here are some things that i think guided me to a place i am happy with:

1. write things that you really want to write. not because you think other people want it or because you crave that sweet external validation—which, look. i do. we all do. all the time. it's nothing to be ashamed about. but if you're just starting out writing, try to get excited about it. have fun with it. seriously, the ride will be so much more enjoyable. write that ship, that trope, that AU, that brainworm that won't leave you alone. seize it. write it because goddamn it no one else will

2. read! read some good words and you will absorb good things. pay attention to what you like: phrasing, imagery, etc. borrow them and make them your own.

3. don't underestimate the value of solid grammar and punctuation. i know it's a pain in the ass, i KNOW, but trust me. making your writing look good, at least on a surface level, helps a lot. your writing is a special thing. polish it! it deserves it!

4. if you are comfortable with it, get your fic beta'd. we don't often notice our own mistakes. and showing your raw work to someone else can feel terrifying, believe me, i want to eat my fist every time. but a second pair of eyes is so valuable. ask a trusted friend—another writer, if you know one. someone who can lend you their expertise but also applaud you for your accomplishments.

5. here is a book i love: "Self-Editing for Fiction Writers, 2nd Edition" by Renni Browne and Dave King. i read it a few years ago and still think about the things i learned in it. every point in this book is a point of advice i'd give to anyone else

i hope any of this is useful!! none of this is like, revolutionary advice, but they will give you a good foundation. i also tried to share things that won't dictate you stylistically, because that can differ so much from person to person.

as for my process, OH BOY. do i even have much of a process.... i'll do my best to describe what i do. i'll also have some more points about what drives my own personal writing style, things that i don't necessarily think other people Should do, but serve as the backbone of how i write. under the read more!!! (why is this so long)

it's only in recent years that i've begun writing with any kind of consistency, so i'm kind of figuring out my process Right Now haha. the process varies depending on the length of the fic and the complexity of the idea. but here are the main points:

1. brainstorming: usually i open a google doc and feverishly jot down an idea when i have it. sometimes it's just a few lines. for bigger ideas, i'll outline the whole fic, which is mostly bulletpoints that vary in detail from "they go to this place and talk about their feelings" to full blown detailed written scenes that i can copy/paste wholesale into the fic draft lol. my ideas often spawn from a line of dialogue, an emotion, vague imagery. this is why none of my fics are plot heavy, i am simply incapable

2. drafting the fic: aka The Writing aka the longest and hardest part lol. sometimes it goes so smoothly the words come out of me like a waterfall. other times it's like juicing a rock. i usually write strictly in chronological order, otherwise i never finish. i'm terrible at going back to do the things i skipped because they were hard. in some places i will leave [brackets] to return to certain moments, like if i need to look up a word or figure out the blocking for a fight scene. it's important to maintain the writing flow if i'm in it, so those particular moments i might skip and come back. otherwise i am but a sculptor hacking away at the marble, hoping to find the story underneath

3. editing: tbh i rigorously self-edit as i write which... might be a bad thing but i can't help it. this is editing as in grammar, punctuation, sentence structure. i fuck around with sentence structure so much—flow is really important to me. just, how the words and sentences sound. i know that sounds like, obvious, but i just want the cadence of every paragraph to sound good. varying up sentence lengths, making sure words sound good together, etc. sometimes at this point i will also feel "hmm need more relationship building here" and add more scenes/dialogue

4. send it out for beta: aka the part where i hide under a rock and try not to delete everything i wrote out of fear. it's never as bad as i expect but i'm like this every time. more editing happens, because of course.

5. post the fic: the best part! except then i have to think of a title and summary! fuck!!!!! it's extremely rare that i have these prepared ahead of time. screw me. my titles come from all over the dang place, poetry, songs, etc. i'm trying to write more original titles, and when i do i usually keep them concise, like 1-3 words

so that's like. literally my process which is probably not at all interesting and maybe not what you were hoping to learn about, so some more things that are like, particular to How i write or at least what i think about when i'm writing:

less is more, when it comes to like 99% of things. if i can describe something in 1 word instead of 5 i will do it (unless it is more in-character to be more verbose)

i always write in very close 3rd person POV, so i'm always thinking really hard about how this character is thinking, what they can physically see/hear/feel etc (for example, a character is never thinking about the color of their own eyes. so i wouldn't say like 'cyno blinked his red eyes' if it's in cyno's POV. idk these are the things i think about. it just feels more immersive this way)

make the dialogue feel as natural as possible, while still maintaining control over it as like, a piece of fiction. i often read dialogue again while skipping the narration between lines, just to make sure it still flows naturally. obviously it's not gonna sound 1 to 1 like real life conversation, but at the very least i want readers to feel like they can hear the character's voices

convey emotions through tone, dialogue, and physical cues rather than trying to say it plainly in the narration (i don't do this 100% of the time, but it's a general rule of thumb)

describe the imagery that really matters—what's setting the scene and giving the desired mood? focus on those details instead of cramming the prose with as much description as possible

sometimes you don't need a metaphor. you can just describe the thing itself, and that hits just as hard

what does each character want in a given scene? what's motivating them? does it feel right to give them that thing now, or later?

that is probably too many commas, use a period for god's sake

again, these are just things that motivate my own writing, they're not necessarily things that i think everyone should take to heart. but if it is interesting/helpful for you, then by all means! run away with them! use them, change them, do with them as you see fit. the important thing is the writing. i believe in you! you can do it!!!

I think a few weeks ago? I watched "Everything, Everywhere, All at Once" and KJBSDFKBJD. Like that movie is such a fun mix of WTF is even going on craziness and contemplating the point of existence and exploring complicated family feelings and the end is weirdly heartwarming--particularly the interactions between the mother and daughter, which is what really got me. And I was watching with one of my best friends and like right after the movie ended he was like "if we were rocks you'd be the googly eyes"--which makes no sense if you haven't seen the movie but that made me cry again because kajdfbksjbf it was so oddly sweet. (Though that was a mixture of hysterical laughter and crying ajsdjfsvjhv in a good way though!)

3. Do you have kids?

nope. maybe one day if i ever get my life together LOL

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

idk if it's a lot?? though i'm probably single-handedly responsible for teaching my brother sarcasm (he's 7 years younger than me so when he was learning would have been right as i was entering those peak sarcasm years LOL)

sarcasm is still deeply engrained in me though, and i nowadays when i use it i definitely pay more attention to how people react to it (ie whether they picked up on it) because i tend to deliver it in a very matter-of-fact voice. like, one of my favourite stupid sarcastic comments to make is whenever something weird weather-wise happens i'll be "but thank god climate change is fake, right?" and KJABFDKSJBD i've gotten some WEIRD LOOKS saying that one around ppl who don't know me that well and then i have to explain myself 😭

5. What sports do you play/have played?

i used to figure skate!! my mom was a coach when i was growing up, so i would joke that i lived part-time at the ice rink. it was kind of inevitable 😂. but i was never good at the jumps. i prefered ice dance or synchronized skating (think synchronized swimming but on the ice)

and i also used to play hockey!? very different environment LOL and my hockey teammates would sometimes tease me for showing up to a game in a dress after skating practice on days i had both but it was all in good fun

happy endings. scary movies don't really freak me out but i guess i just find them sort of...low-reward? i'm not a movie person to begin with because it's hard for me to get invested in the characters in such a short amount of time. with horror movies that's even harder because they're all about shock value instead of getting to know the characters

i am very very good at puns. does that count? 😂

when i have energy/motivation i really enjoy cooking (or baking, but with baking i have to actually measure ingredients and with cooking i just sort of go with the flow). my new apartment is going to have space for a dishwasher--which really is the most exciting thing in my life right now--so i'm hoping that motivates me to cook more!!

yes!!! i have a ginger cat and her name is Curie (namesake Marie Curie because i'm a proud little nerd like that). I love her she's so stupid and has tried to eat plastic TOO MANY TIMES but every morning and night she will curl up on my chest when i'm in bed and she's just a precious bean

5'5.5 (166cm). but i would have been taller if my spine had known how to grow straight 😔

14. Favorite subject in school?

science!! i had the same science teacher in high school from grades 8-10 (aka the only teacher in the french immersion department who was really qualified to teach it 😂) and i ADORED HER. from day one i was hooked--like she even made syllabus day fun. so i owe my love of science in part to her, really.

in university i realized i liked chemistry best amongst the sciences, so that was my major. and my favourite class i ever took was intro to quantum chemistry (which is really just quantum physics but the math was geared more towards what us chemistry students were familiar with)

15. Dream job?

okay, avoiding the typical "i do not dream of labour" answer...i really don't know. which is a problem. like i genuinely have no idea what i could do long-term that would actually make me happy and i just hope i figure it out at some point akjsdkfsjbd ... So yeah nice eclipse lived.

Eclipse is dead he really sounded tired and Solar Flare was like " let it go and let's move on" or something along those lines (notice I'm not that good at remembering the correct words but it get the idea through) but still Eclipse was trying to explain to moon what is going to happen if he didn't kill Lunar but didn't listen he was being sassy towards him, moon also mentioned that if he wasn't the cause of everything he could still have his memories and magic. Eclipse proceeded to tell moon like "you need to understand if sun dies it's on you" idk if he was trying to make him feel bad in that aspect but moon didn't budge in. Once dead Solar Flare told him that "He was just like old moon he cared in his own way, and that if he was nicer or tried to change people might've listened to him" also the star is destroyed and like nice eclipse said he can literally build a new one to which moon replied with a no.

Now Eclipse mentioned that Lunar was going to be screwing things up with moon, sun and others, my question is what did he see?

mmh honestly, I feel like I would have a hard time paying any attention as my braid gets fried hahah but when you guys explain it, it make it sound way cooler than may really be! sdsads so .. Eclipse is gone - part of me think he will come back. other thinks they will use Ruin as the new bad guy.. in any case.. I feel like, even IF - Eclipse saw a terrible future.. he cant be stupid enough to think anyone will trust him, no matter how desperate or scare he sounds - he should know better.. maybe use a puppet, a shadow, a forced vision into Moon's mind to make HIm see what will happend.. but nah- also, I undertand if Solar think that way - but also, ppl seem to forget Eclipse was also infected by the Kill code, that and lots of reason more as to why Eclipse was that mess up (then again, what he did is terrible, but not out of the blue- the dude is mess up no matter what sad BG he had - but the BG is important to understang what he did) expecting a bad person to one day - change - is not that smart..if anything, being left alone - with no one to be there for him - maybe in pain from the star -slowly dying- maybe alone with guilt, and just seeying how even if he Won. . he is not a winner.. maybe that finally took Eclipse to think "maybe... I can do things better" as for Lunar.. all I know is that Puppet put him back together.. now.. who is Puppet in this universe? is Lunar the real one? or someone made to trick ppl? I feel like whatever Eclipse saw.. may not be actually that bad - but the VA need to hype things up haha I really hope they get rid of the magic too.. is never used in a natural way.. or logical way.. anyways, thanks you for your ask and time!! <3

okay so like there's thay copycat, let's call her P !! technically, she's been a friend since last year, but I didnt really consider her as one cuz she mostly talked with my other two friends from our closest friend group n like nobody else. (we're a group of five without her) She sorta randomly appeared, but I ofc didnt mind cuz its always nice to meet new ppl n make new friends yk ??

(extra thingy for this year => one friend changed schools to another city, another doesnt hang out with us anymore but does online, n then there's another who isnt in the same classes so we only see each other during breaks. so its just me n another friend, (let's call her F) she's has been my closest friend since years ago so far !!

Okayokay now on to the real shii; since the new school year, P asked the school if she could be in the same class as me and F (because we're always together). so practically, P is also my classmate now. BUT !! I've noticed she favours F more than me, which doesnt bother me much bc we all have preferences at some point 🤷‍♀️ HOWEVER its getting a bit uncomfy because she's slowly been like starting to copy me and seems to be trying to exclude me to get closer to F ever since school started

Im insecure about friendships, so I get jealous when I see F paying more attention to P than to me (at least Im self aware 😞) oh, abt the copying part, I have a list to explain omllll !! for instance, I have an online school timetable with a specific colour palette (we have our own from our school's app but I'd like to use my own [another one] cuz then its a widget) she saw it and asked about the app n then the next week, she did the same thing with the exact same colors for each subject ?? Its not a big deal, but its abs noticeable.. like I get it u wanna use the same app cuz Ik how handy it is but using the same colours is starting to become extra .. then theres the school stationary, especially the pencil case and highlighters. I have a clear see-through pencil case and pastel highlighters (so coquette) n after two months or somewhere around that, she got the same ones. AGAIN, not a huge deal, but then she started comparing highlighters and saying she should have bought the same ones as me (?? Girl tf) Its frustrating because she's indirectly indicating that she wants to be or have the same shii as me 😭 n I dont like that. Ik some ppl do but I jst dont

Another example is my headphones. I have specific ones (JBL I lub em sm), n in December or smth, she also got the same ones but in pink (I have black ones) Its not about the headphones themselves tho, but the fact that she claimed we have the same ones when they're CLEARLY different. i know it’s not technically canon but the fact that in rebel robin robin is like always being ditched for someone else, especially romantic interests, is a part of what makes this whole thing frustrating to me personally. like writing her off in fics when steve gets the guy is just, adding him to that list of people. also maybe i’m just not that active in this space but i feel like i didn’t really start seeing this whole “stop comparing relationships they’re equally important” thing here until people were like hey it kinda sucks when steve/robin forgot about each other when a love interest is written in. but again maybe it just seems that way because i don’t pay as much attention lol

rebel robin is canon enough to me that I get genuinely confused when ppl name her parents something other than Melissa and Richard . and yeah I think the context of rebel robin really adds to s3 bc throughout most of the book, besides figuring out that she's a lesbian, what she wants most is a friend, a real connection! it makes her friendship with Steve all the sweeter bc it's with someone she didn't expect but it's the ride or die she's been looking for and Steve also really needed a friend

I also haven't been paying a huge amount of attention to when and how the whole 'comparing relationships' thing got started but it wouldn't surprise me too much if it's a bit reactionary to ppl being like 'hey Steve/robin have been acting kind of weird around each other in fics, usually to help prop up the romantic relationship they're pursuing' it's very easy to not have to analyse how you're writing the different relationships if u just Say they're both important and go back to what you want to write. it's just kind of noticeable when fandom has such a thing about saying how amazing the platonic relationships are but then focusing almost entirely on romance in fics

I want to share the thought I researched on haechan..he is a successful idol for his age nd he is good at singing and great at dancing...even their choreo master praised him as he is the first one to learn the dance fast nd his movement are very neat..he even included haechan in his team if he ever to make a 5 member team..ye ofcrs when 127 performs he does stand out to me..especially when his sexy moves dominates the stage..but what amazes me is that he doesnt attracts me when he is alone...dont take it badly..(I really hate to admit it as his fan tho) ..but the stage presence I got even from doyoung (he is way behind in dancing if we compare with haechan that's why I took him as an example) I dint get it from haechan...he nor dominate the stage nor give the spark.as his fan it really makes me wonder..how is to build up the stage presence....what I am saying is some ppl get the vibe only from standing in the centre..becoz of their aura..is it naturally getting or to make...I dont knw...he can entertain,be funny ,make contents everything.. .he is really good...but he stand out only when he is doing smthng with his grp..for me....just my opinion...nd that's really sad...

First of all, I think different people understand stage presence differently. Some pay more attention to the aura, others to facial expressions, yet another to movements and execution of a choreo.

Hwanwung from Oneus is an interesting case. Some really like his dancing and praise him for his stage presence, make an example of him, I like him as a person and a vocalist but find him very over the top, trying too hard to be liked, to show off, to be worthy of being called the main dancer (similar to Jungwoo). He is frankly on the cringy side.

Very few people in NCT have stage presence (enough to stand alone on the stage, of course almost all of them are much more expressive and experienced than average idols). I think in part because there are so many introverts in the group, in part because they didn't need to master it being a part of a group. Like take Taeyong, he is a timid guy, he even skipped school because he didn't have friends in high school, didn't blend in. He is still awkward. However, he was first made to evolve into a prospective trainee (learn dancing and rapping) and later pushed into the leader position. Taeyong had to learn how to be the liason between the management and the group, how to be a spokeperson, how to be a hyung to all the younger neos (he really liked being in Super M because, for a change, he was taken care of by 3 older artists he looked up to).

Haechan wants to be a singer-songwriter, maybe he will choose an image that doesn't need a lot of dancing. Or maybe he will work on it. Plus, solo artists perform with a group of backdancers.

As for the aura. Haechan slouches and he doesn't work with his face. Some idols can get away with it if their faces look fierce with make up (like Jae) or very pretty, Haechan's resting face is a bit sour.

Haechan is a show stealer in the group in my eyes, but thanks to his movements.

We, people, are hierarchial animals. We look up to those who are higher than us, they are important. The verbal language evolved late. We still rely a lot on non-verbal signals. The gaze, the posture, the attitude, the way others react to the person in question (their approval, popularity points), the marking of the rank (a crown, bodyguard, expensive clothes), the confidence. All of it makes "the aura".

Doyoung knows it, he works on it. Everyone noticed his upgrade with acting facial expressions after the musical. He worked for DJJ, mastered poses and gestures for the choreos. I guess Haechan is focused more on the dancing (everyone knows he watches his fancams all the time). It is hard to notice something about yourself as you are biased or too focused on certain details.

You can say Doyoung has had the experience which Haechan lacks. He was a vocalist of a school band, he was MC of many big shows, he had duets and solos in big arenas, he acted in tv-series and a musical outside of the circle of his bandmates. Doyoung also doesn't believe in his looks or dancing, he feels the need to compensate with something to be liked, to stand out.

So let's not give up on Haechan just yet. I believe he just needs to be left to stand alone on the stage to learn how to dominate without the help of a group.

Taeyong, Taemin - both switch off their childish personal self and "become possessed" on the stage. Donghyuk is still with Haechan on the stage.

Depends on the day really. I feel like most the stuff I’ve drawn of them has been angsty and I like that but I want cute shit too and I’m trying to make more.....it’s just wips though 😭

I think when it comes to the cruel part I always go back to their separation period cuz some shit definitely went down for both of them that we don’t completely see and hnnghhh. It’s where I go insane thinking of Ryan specifically. Like he very clearly isn’t doing good at all, especially performance wise. He gets gigs at retirement homes where his "audience" falls asleep despite the music being loud. He tries just playing in the middle of a party and literally no one pays him attention. I also believe that despite his efforts, Ryan isn’t great at making friends or good impressions. Like idk I can definitely see him trying way too hard but everyone finds him weird or annoying. He can maybe get ppl to stay for a minute but can’t keep it up (ex. his girlfriends). Which made his separation from Min-Gi especially difficult, that’s the only person he thought cared about him, and then it seemingly isn’t true (to Ryan) after battle. He has to live with Min for the first time in his life, and he immediately tries to enter relationships with women to replace the pain left behind by Min (cough gay coding cough). And you just know how he’s trying so despite to make everything work, cuz if he doesn’t it’d mean that he was wrong, his dreams are unrealistic and stupid, and Min might be better off without him. Ryan could find an evil comfort in the idea that Min is just as miserable as he is, and he definitely tries to believe it when he returns because well. It’s fucking true lol. And boy is my man Ryan bottled up he would never say upfront that his solo career went awful because honestly if he did earlier in the season Min would go all bracket mouth smug about it akshjaka

As for the Min-Gi side it’s very uh. It’s far too relatable to me and I don’t like it 😤. I can very much understand why he didn’t wanna just up and leave with Ryan on such short notice with no plan, though I’d probably try to talk about that after singing our funny songs instead of leaving him on stage alone. But where’s the drama in that 🙄 these bitches are mentally ill. Min is then forcing himself to comply to whatever his parents want from him, very much ignoring his painfully strong need to play music with Ryan. There’s no future in music, he must be in FINANCE WITH AN EMPHASIS ON RISK ASSESSMENT. During his intense ass repression (and on the train) he fully believes Ryan is having the time of his life without him, living their dream. He won’t admit it though because he’s again, very repressed and stubborn. But you just know he gets that cassette from Ryan and listens to it 24/7 like "arghhhh....my homosexual desires are back 😤". Okay maybe not but it’s funny to imagine. It’d be pretty damn easy to blame everything on Ryan while acting like he’s in the right for being "smart" and "realistic", and I wouldn’t doubt the possibility that his parents compare the two and remark on how Min ended up so good through all that. And just the feelings of knowing you’re making your parents proud by living someone else’s life is just. OOF. Hits hard. If we go back to gay coding it would be pretty damn likely that part of the Uni Plan was the expectation that Min would meet a girl who he’d date and/or marry. And he plays the role of a straight man despite being desperately gay. So the whole "choosing the gay path despite the fact it won’t make your parents happy" thing is very good I’m always crying about it

This has become increasingly incoherent so that’s the angst shit I feed off of. As for fluff I like when they k-k-kiss 😳

how he magic works :)! locke's magic is a Lot like legend's magic was in my weathered and wavering fic ? sorta sentient in a way. it's a reflection of its host (locke) and exists solely to keep him healthy and alive. even though it's basically a reflection of locke's ideals and personality, i think the interesting thing abt this is that his magic can Disagree w him

usually it's not a huge deal—like i've said after all, magic is always a reflection of their host. disagreements usually crop up when the host is doing something that damages themselves (pushing themselves too hard in a fight, using a spell that will drain them too much) or doing something that the magic thinks will get them killed

magic sorta teams w up that barrier in ur head that keeps u from taking the leap of faith over that ravine in the forest; that moment of hesitance where your legs freeze and you doubt the probabilities that you'll come out of this alive—that's the magic in ur system, pulling you back, begging u to take the longer, safer path. it teams up w fear as well; plants your feet to the ground when ur about to walk into something dangerous, urges u to turn around and tells u that it's not safe here. it's not doing it to burst ur bubble or anything, it's just doing it to keep u alive

BUT THAT'Snot rly the important part. the point is locke has magic that's almost like another Being in his system. everybody's magic is like this. it has intelligence and emotions, just,,, to a lesser degree than humans ? not sure how to describe it. it's somewhere between a human and an animal's intelligence. not quite as equiped as a human, but definitely smarter than ur average animal

locke can talk to his magic !!! they're buddies . the disagreement thing can also extend to instances where ur like,,, unsure of what to do ? or how to feel abt something ? magic is sorta the "physical" representation of that. locke thinks one way, his magic thinks another, and then they sorta argue it out and try to make sense of the mixed feelings. they're a lotta cool stuff u can connect that to :)

another general rule to this lil universe is that if locke enchants an object too much or too fast, the magic will sorta congregate and,, let the item gain sentience. that's why it's VERY important to never just enchant shit willy-nilly. locke is very careful not to reach that limit

(makes ya think . does that mean every living being is just a Thing that was given so much magic by mother nature that it gained a human-level mind and intelligence ..,, hm. won't sleep tonight)

the only thing he wasn't so careful with is his staff, since that was pretty much the first weapon he enchanted a Lot and he was young and unaware of the dangers. nowadays, his staff Does have some semblance of a mind !!!! it's very subtle, tho

the moments of awareness from his staff are few and far between, and honestly, it mostly helps locke out instead of hinders him. the staff is aware of its surroundings only sometimes, and it'll occasionally shove locke out of the way of an attack he doesn't see or nudge him to alert him of ambushing enemies he doesn't notice. it'll also very rarely stab monsters For locke if he's in a bind. occasionally it will swivel around to listen to the chain when locke's name or the staff itself is brought up, like it's perking up and paying attention (it freaks the chain out . VGEAIUV)

locke mostly just enjoys seeing its small moments of awareness, and he can tell the staff is fond of him. he's not dumb enough to enchant it more, cuz that could definitely cause problems, but he figures this is fine <3

another small thing: locke can read other people's magic and it can tell him a lot about them. he knows everybody's dark world forms (yes, he is immediately aware of the wolfie and twi deal). he can sense lingering magic on people based on what sorta spells and items they use (he doesn't even rly need magic to know the deal w four bc of his game, but his magic aids him further in knowing that there r actually four people in that little body . wow). again, he doesn't need magic to know this since he's already aware of what the fierce deity is and looks like, but it gives him proof that time's face markings are from the fierce deity mask itself and the deity's aura still lingers there a little

AND YEAH . YES. wars doesn't have a whole lot of magic and can't rly do any fancy spells beyond use a fire rod, but locke can definitely sense his. when they're sitting together locke likes to swirl his own around him and watch wars shift around and adjust himself trying to figure out what the fuck is wrong w his body rn GVYIEAGVIA he can sense locke's magic there, but wars isn't educated in the matter and doesn't Know that's magic, he just knows there's a Presence here and it's Fucking with him
