Kota: Reo. If you don’t have anywhere else to go, you can stay here for a while.

ofc, share all you want! omg... I love this idea..... Kakyoin would be so soft anytime a cat approaches him. he’d do a little “pspsps” and hold out his finger for them to smell. and once a cat actually nudges him, he’d just melt! he wouldn’t show it outwardly, but you can see it in how bright his eyes get. I think Kakyoin would be the type to either attract a ton of cats or cats hate him, there’s no in between. 😭❤️ both make for some gr8 scenarios, though!

I think he’d be really annoyed that the day ended up this way, but he’s glad that he got to spend it with someone he tolerates. 💕 Rohan would try to push past those feelings once you go to the restaurant. this date is still salvageable!! he might complain a lil, but ultimately, he’d try to focus on you and what you enjoyed 🥰

Ringo awoke to the sound of the phone ringing. As he was dragged forcefully from his sleep he wondered if it was possible to get any uninterrupted rest at George's place. He arose sluggishly and saw George lying peacefully beside him, looking so beautiful that Ringo almost didn't want to wake him. Almost, but the phone ringing was just too aggravating.

"George." Ringo spoke harshly, rocking the younger man somewhat forcefully in an attempt to wake him.

"Hmmmm?" George murmured, not opening his eyes and shifting slightly.

"The phone's going." Ringo couldn't help but smile at seeing George like this, all ruffled and sleepy.

"You get it." He muttered, turning over on his side in a defiant act to show that he wasn't going to be shaking off his sleep any time soon.

Ringo let out a huff, paused for a moment to see if George was going to get up, then slid out of bed himself to find the phone. The floor was cold beneath his feet and it only made him feel all the more awake. He located the phone easily and took a breath before lifting it up, he had no idea what was waiting on the other side. He opened his mouth to speak but was cut off before he could get a word out.

"George! Thank God you're alright. I was in such a state yesterday and was hurried off before I could even check on you, I'm so sorry. How are you feeling? John looks like utter shit." It was Paul, and he could hear John protesting the remark in the background.

"Uh... George can't come to the phone right now. He's sleeping." Ringo spoke slowly, unsure whether it had been right to speak at all.

"Wha- Who's this?" Paul didn't sound any less frantic, Ringo could hear a weakness in his voice and he dreaded to think about the state he was in.

"It's Ringo... From th-"

"Ringo? What the bloody hell are you doing at George's? He didn't- Wait..." Paul's voice trailed off and Ringo supposed he had to explain, but wasn't sure how much his friends knew. Did they know George liked guys? Did George even like guys? Maybe he just liked Ringo.

"Well, he wanted to apologise for the other day so got me dinner. I had a bit too much to drink so he let me sleep on his sofa." Ringo was still hesitant, was he even meant to know about all this?

"Oh... Well that's great! Dunno why George didn't tell us." Paul immediately sounded more cheerful, but his voice was still masking pain "Is he alright though?"

"As alright as he can be, I think. He probably just needs some sleep right now. Will a doctor be coming to see him at any point?" Ringo tried not to think about the bruises all over George's skin.

"Yeah, yeah o'course. Some point today they'll pop round." Paul sounded so comfortable talking about this "Me and John should be heading home soonish, maybe we'll pop by."

"Ha, yeah sure thing." Ringo still wasn't sure what to make of all this, Paul was talking to him like they were buddies and it made him feel a little off.

"Well, I won't keep you. Just wanted to know George was alright, I'll let you get back to him." Paul didn't even give Ringo an opportunity to respond, he was already talking to John then hung up the phone.

Ringo felt uneasy about Paul's choice of words, maybe they did know about George after all. But even if they did, Ringo didn't want them know about him, he wasn't even sure if there was anything to know. All of the chaos from last night had made him almost forget about what he and George had done, what Ringo had allowed George to do. When he asked the question to himself, it didn't feel right to say that he was gay. But he couldn't deny it outright after how much he'd enjoyed last night, how much he craved George's mouth on him again, and how a girl had never made him feel quite like that. Maybe he wasn't gay, maybe George was just an exception... That didn't seem right either. Ringo let out another heavy sigh as he put the phone down, tentatively heading back to George's bedroom.

He opened the door slowly, trying his best not to wake George, but when he entered the room he saw that he was already awake. He was lying up on his elbows, still looking groggy, and passed Ringo a small smile.

"G'morning." He spoke roughly, having more of an effect on Ringo that he'd care to admit.

"Morning." He shuffled back towards the bed, not feeling entirely comfortable enough to get back under the covers "How you feeling?"

George tried to sit up further and groaned with the attempt "I've been much better, but I've been much worse. Believe it or not, being stabbed never gets easier."

"I can believe it." Ringo chuckled, finding it hard to hide the sadness in his voice.

"Who was on the phone?" George asked calmly as he began undoing his shirt buttons, Ringo couldn't pull his eyes away from his fingers.

"Paul. He was just checking up on you. Sounded pretty worried." Ringo explained, fiddling with the corner of the duvet as he forced his eyes to look elsewhere.

"Yeah, that doesn't surprise me. No matter how old I get he still treats me like a kid sometimes. Even when I'm the one saving his arse." George was taking his shirt off now, he groaned again as he felt his muscles crying out in pain "Can you do me a favour? Grab a shirt from my wardrobe, preferably one that isn't covered in blood."

Ringo sprang up from the bed and made his way to the wardrobe, it was one of those fancy built-in ones with mirrors on all the doors. In the reflection he could see George lying there shirtless, Ringo had never seen his bare chest before; his slim frame with the subtle lines of muscle running down his stomach and over his arms. Then his eyes fixated on the bandage covering his stab wound, it was dark with blood and needed redressing. George was looking right back at him, he didn't seem to mind being stared at, and when Ringo noticed this he busied himself with finding a shirt, trying to ignore the burning feeling in his cheeks. When he found a clean, white shirt for George to wear he carried it over to the bed sheepishly, handing it to other man. Ringo sat at the edge of the bed again, not wanting to face George with the fear that he'd keep staring at him. He heard George struggling and shuffling behind him as he put his shirt on, and Ringo couldn't help stealing glances in the mirror. It was silent in the room for a while, Ringo unsure about what he should do next.

"You've never been with a guy before, have you?" George said bluntly, startling Ringo and making him turn around with a stunned expression which made George chuckle "Sorry, I don't mean to be rude. We don't have to talk about it if you don't want to."

Ringo paused for a moment, looking down at his hands "No, I haven't. I've never even thought about it before."

"Wow, I'm just that irresistible?" George laughed, he wheezed somewhat.

"Suppose you must be." Ringo chuckled nervously "You been with a lot of guys, then?"

"Here and there. Being with girls just never felt right, you know? But I must say I've never stalked a guy into bed before." He was getting up from the bed now as best he could, he stumbled on his way up and Ringo rushed over to help him before he even realised what he was doing.

"Don't put it like that." Ringo mumbled, gripping onto George tightly to hold him up.

"Did you like it? Must've been pretty weird for you." George was relaxing his weight into Ringo, allowing himself to be supported.

"Y-Yeah I liked it..." Ringo looked up into George's eyes who, despite his feeble state, still had such a powerful look about him. "Did you think I was gay, when you met me, I mean?"

George chuckled "I dunno, I suppose I hoped that you were. I got lucky."

Ringo tore his eyes away from George, adjusting his position somewhat so that he could support him more "Is there somewhere you wanna go or are we gonna stand like this all day?"

"I can think of worse things to be doing." George paused for a moment "I do need a piss though."

Ringo began helping him walk out of the room "Well I'm not helping you with that."

"Why not? I touched your cock but you can't touch mine?" George flashed a grin, revealing his sharp teeth.

"That's not the same, and you know it." Ringo huffed, navigating his way to the bathroom and opening the door, trying not to think about how dirty the word sounded coming out of George's mouth.

"You're pretty strong, you know." George held himself up by the door handle, eyeing Ringo up and down.

"Side effect of lugging a drum kit around, I suppose." Ringo spoke plainly, trying not to focus on how George was looking at him.

"You drum? That's cool." George's tone lightened up "You any good?"

"I like to think so. Could always be better, I don't practice as much as I'd like. Only time I get to play really is my days off." Ringo explained, leaning against the wall.

"Like today? And here I am taking up all your time..." George grinned again.

"I can think of worse things to be doing." Ringo retorted, proud he was able to give George's words back to him, but they only made the dark look in his eyes more intense, putting Ringo on edge again. "Now go and piss, Christ. Anyone would think you're trying it on with me."

George laughed at this then retreated into the bathroom, shutting the door behind him slowly. This gave Ringo a chance to finally relax for a minute, he walked back over to the windows overlooking the street and just gazed out into the world. He didn't have any plans today, besides doing some drumming, but there was something inside him begging him to stay with George, he wasn't sure if it was just sympathy or something else. Eventually the man in question re-emerged, shuffling into the living room and smiling when he saw the smaller man.

"You want some breakfast? All I've got is toast but it's better than nothing." George already started heading to the kitchen and Ringo was quick to follow.

"All this money and you're living off bread and butter? And I thought I had it rough." He chuckled as George rustled through his cupboards.

George finally pulled out a loaf of bread from one of the cabinets, but disappointment spread across his face when he opened it up. Ringo just laughed, walking over and seeing the expiration date of two weeks ago. George just frowned and hobbled over to the fridge.

"Any recipes you know that include butter aaaaand... Two eggs?" George poked his head out from behind the fridge door to see Ringo looking at him amused.

"No wonder you're a bloody twig George, eating like this." Ringo looked through the cupboards, finding almost nothing.

"Well we go out to eat. At your place usually." George followed behind Ringo "Let's just go out."

"George you are in no state to be going anywhere." Ringo chuckled but felt somewhat startled with how close George was standing to him. "I could always pop down to the shops and pick up a few things."

George looked surprised at this suggestion, and Ringo wondered if he even knew where the nearest shop was "Sure, if you don't mind. Lemme get you some money."

Ringo was about to protest but George was already gone, he could move fairly quickly when he wanted to, Ringo noticed. He came back into the kitchen with another £20 note, which Ringo took reluctantly.

"What are you expecting me to buy, caviar?" He laughed but put the money in his pocket nonetheless.

George shrugged "Paul usually does my shopping for me, I never ask him to but he insists."

"Jesus... I don't know what's more dangerous, getting stabbed in the night or not knowing how much bacon costs." Ringo joked and it made George smile, he looked so beautiful when he smiled "I'll be back in a tick." He vanished to grab his coat from the living room floor.

Before he walked out the front door, George shouted thanks after him. Ringo just gave him a quick smile and a wave before heading to the lift. He still felt so out of place in this fancy building, especially without George guiding him through it. While in the lift his thoughts drifted back into dangerous territory, with pressing questions and uncomfortable realisations.

George had spoken about being with other men like it was nothing, like it was normal. Wasn't it normal? Ringo wasn't sure anymore. He had never been outrightly against the whole thing, but he'd never known any gay people and he certainly hadn't expected himself to have even the slightest attraction towards men. It was far too confusing, and the more he thought about it, the more the fear of the whole thing consumed him, and he had to shake it from his mind.

It didn't take too long to find the nearest shop and he picked up a couple of things to cook a nice breakfast. He wasn't sure when the thought had really come to him, it had just been instinctive, like they were already a couple or something. Ringo regretted thinking that word as soon as it left his thoughts - couple? He was acting like a schoolgirl, fawning over the first guy to give her any attention. He never acted like this with the girls he was with, not to say that he wasn't considerate or anything, but they'd almost always be gone by the morning and the most they'd get would be a couple of pieces of toast and a cup of tea.

He got a strange look from the doorman when he came back into the building, or at least he thought he did. Did he know? What was there to know? Ringo couldn't help feeling that there was some unspoken understanding of everyone around him about what he'd done last night. It made him shudder to think about it, and he had to push the thoughts from his mind as he climbed into the lift once more.

As he walked up to George's door he could hear voices inside, he paused on the other side and stopped to listen as best he could, it didn't take long for him to identify the voices of John and Paul.

"Jesus, George. The first time? I didn't even do that for John for months." Paul spoke, Ringo cringed as he guessed what they were talking about.

"I dunno, it just felt like the right thing to do y'know. It was his first time, wanted it to be special." George sounded different to how he did when they were alone, like he wasn't the dominant force anymore.

"Oooh, special. Did you get the candles and rose petals out too?" John chimed in and Ringo could hear one of the other boys shove him lightly.

"Shut up. I like him, alright?" George mumbled, and Ringo froze in place. Like him? What did that mean? Oh God, this was all getting too much. He couldn't bear to listen to this anymore, but he couldn't just burst in right now, it would be far too awkward, but he couldn't just run away either.

"Just be careful, George. I don't want you getting hurt again. After that last guy I didn't think I'd ever see you again, you and your bed had practically become one." Paul chuckled but his tone was serious.

"It won't be like that, Ringo's-" George was cut off by the door swinging open, revealing the man in question looking rather awkward.

"Ringo's what?" He forced a laugh. He just couldn't stand to eavesdrop of their conversation anymore, there was a reason George was saying this all in private, and as interested as he was, Ringo didn't think he was ready to consider what any of this meant.

"Getting breakfast." George smiled sheepishly, managing to get up from the sofa to guide Ringo into the kitchen.

Ringo tried not to look at Paul and John for too long, who were directly staring at him, their injuries were even worse than George's and it pained him to even think about it.

George helped Ringo unpack the groceries, he was still moving slowly but he didn't seem to be in as much pain as before.

"Thanks for doing this." George spoke quietly and Ringo wondered why he didn't want the others to hear.

"It's no big deal, honestly. It's the least I can do after that lovely dinner you got me." Ringo matched his low volume.

When everything was packed away, George moved closer to Ringo and trapped him in a corner of the kitchen. Ringo looked up at the taller man in alarm who was the picture of composure.

"I'd love to take you out again, Ringo." George whispered now and Ringo hated how much he loved to hear George say his name "And I'd love to make you feel good again." He moved his hand to Ringo's neck, idly playing with his hair "Would you like that?"

Ringo gulped and nodded "Yes... I'd like that very much."

George let out a low chuckle, rubbed the skin of Ringo's cheek with his thumb and planted a soft kiss on his lips. If there weren't two others in the room right next to them, Ringo wondered whether he'd push into the kiss more, desperate to feel George's tongue on his the way he had last night. He cursed John and Paul for being there, but the thought of doing that again with George, completely sober, also terrified him. The kiss felt like it lasted longer than it actually did, and Ringo let out a choked breath when George pulled away. George let out a satisfied noise and licked his lips subtly, before leaving the room to poke his head round the door.

Ringo could hear him asking the others if they wanted any breakfast, but it sounded like it was miles off. He stood rooted to the spot, his lips tingling in a way he'd never felt it before. It was no longer a question of whether he liked it or not, he knew he liked it and he wanted more.

Astrid turned off her phone. Sam probably had bigger and better things to do than listen to her talk about Diana, but she hadn’t known who else to text. Astrid had told a few of her friends that there was a girl she had a massive crush on. Sam was the only person she’d told all the details, so she let him know first.

She couldn’t wait, and she couldn’t believe it. Her and Diana had seemed like a one in a million chance, but now they were in a relationship, and Astrid was really excited about it. About an hour after the date, Diana had texted asking if she could come over on Sunday, her off day. Astrid, being the lovestruck idiot she was, had said yes.

The main problem facing her right now was that there really wasn’t anything she could think of to do for a date. There was nothing interesting to do at her house. Or in Perdido, actually. Diana lived here too, but she had a job, and used to go to high school in another town. She’d probably already seen all of the attractions Perdido had to offer.

They could watch something on the TV, but that was capital-B boring. There were a few restaurants in town, but Astrid knew that with Caine around, going to one of those was a bad idea. Movies could work, but she didn’t know what Diana was into, and it was going to be expensive as hell. As someone facing future student loan debt, that wasn’t a good idea. Astrid didn’t want to set a precedent of paying a lot on dates.

After spending a solid half hour wondering what she was going to do, it occured to Astrid to ask Sam. He had loads of practice sneaking around with Quinn, and Astrid knew they went on dates. Opening up her phone again to see that Sam had not texted back, Astrid typed out another message.

I don’t just wanna hang out at my house though. Do you know any good places for a date that are...private? Bc Caine could still be an issue.

Finally, the little gray dots showed up on the screen. Sam was typing.

Named for Superman’s girlfriend and the elf from the Lord of the Rings, Lana Arwen Lazar runs the sad place near the beach known as The Healing Place. While the name suggests otherwise, no, we do not sell weed or offer bogus spiritual treatments. It’s a diner, in an old 50s style, run by Lana and staffed by many people, most of which are gay. Since it’s Lana’s favorite(read:easy to make), we serve typical American fare with enough cholesterol and sugar to give you a heart attack. Enjoy burgers, hot dogs, and salad (for the freaks), and loads of onion rings and french fries. If you would like healthier options, we can accommodate dietary restrictions in general, but if you’re on some weird supermodel diet go somewhere else. Lana primarily works with her girlfriend (Dekka), her boyfriend (Sanjit), and her dog (Patrick) to keep the restaurant running. Unfortunately, Patrick cannot be in the restaurant as he is a health hazard, but he supports from home just fine. Lana is 21, and considers herself a fourteen-year-old with a driver’s license and a drinking permit. She has kept the restaurant running for three years and intends to keep it from running away from her.

Well, Astrid could certainly see why Sam liked going there. It looked cool, and quite proudly a safe space for everyone. She plugged the restaurant name into Google and found three articles about it being a great place to go if you were gay (one calling it “a piece of accepting Los Angeles in a small California town), and many posts and tweets about how good of a place it was.

As one reviewer said, “The food is shit, but it’s the only place I can go on a date with my partner and not get stares.”

It was Astrid’s best bet for a place to take her girlfriend on a date, since she didn’t want to try and find someplace out of town like Diana had. Also, she trusted Sam’s recommendation.

Never in his life did Sam think he would be protecting his friend’s safety by looking at reviews for dating apps. He’d checked the obvious-tinder, okcupid, match-but had decided that, unfortunately, Caine probably already used those.

Caine couldn’t just be a regular bitch, he had to be a horny bitch. Sam focused on apps that were for the general area, and for a younger audience. So far, it was a lot of people either saying they had met the love of their life on the app and had amazing sex, or that they had been harassed horribly by middle-aged men sending excessive dick pics. There was no middle ground in sight.

It really didn’t matter what app it was, the reviews were basically the same. There were a few that were romance and relationship centered, and several that matched people up based on various attributes. They were all kind of the same, so Sam moved on to IRL dating.

He made up a list of people he knew that could possibly enter a relationship with Caine. Sam felt a little guilty for wanting to put another girl through what happened to Diana, but he also knew that there had to be a perfect match for Caine somewhere. Even someone as soulless as Caine had to have a soulmate.

Also, knowing Caine’s track record, he would break up with them in a few months anyways. Maybe even go to college to get a girlfriend. Somehow, Caine had finessed himself an all-expenses-paid scholarship to any college of his choice. He was still looking for a college, and didn’t look set on deciding anytime soon. Sam was slightly jealous, since he was still looking for a job to support Connie.

Maybe if Sam pissed Caine off enough he would leave for a college across the country and they would never see each other again. But Sam doubted it would actually happen, Caine liked the little hold of power he had over Perdido.

The wild card at tomorrow night’s family dinner was going to be Connie Temple. She was always nice to Caine, fussing over him and asking him all sorts of questions about his life and how things were going. The perfect estranged mother, but she also became strange with Caine in the house, telling him he looked like his father. Oftentimes, she left the dinner table crying.

Caine knew how he affected the family dynamic in that house, and he was pleased with it, Sam knew. The more distraught Connie was, the more she blamed Sam. And the less happy Sam was, the happier Caine became.

This was going to be hard.

Professor Layton Anime Theory - Luke’s Possible Betrayal (LMDA Spoilers!)

hi guys its luke today i’m making a callout post on luke 

 this is probably the most cursed theory i will ever create and i promise this is pure speculation, i don’t WANT this to happen i don’t think this SHOULD happen i know the layton community will systematically explode if it does so please don’t unfollow me i am a sensitive boy 

summary of the theory: this theory analyzes the possibly of luke betraying layton in the relic stone mystery similarily to emmy based on several aspects of luke’s two appearances in the anime and what we know about the future of the anime so far.

warning: swearing, implications that luke is a good boy gone bad

alright, lets go lesbians

me and the bros were talking on the layton community discord, and i mentioned something that has been bothering me about luke, a theory if you will. @officialchampionred summed up my thoughts on my own theory pretty well after i told them about it

i originally was just going to not do anything with my speculation, but i figured since the one i made about luke being kat’s father was so well received, even if i ended up being incorrect, i would take another shot at a theory that i think has a good chance of being realized somewhere down the line

ok so the theory summary sounds like a load of baloney when you read it for the first time, right? well hear me out, because i have several points to bring up that may rattle ur bones. without further ado, here are the points:

1. Luke’s Design and its Similarity to the Relic Stone Thugs In Episode 10

im going to start with one point that several people have caught on with all ready, but i don’t think anybody has ever really tried to connect the dots here. so you know luke’s new design, right? the fedora, the jacket, very cute

EXCEPT

here is an image comparison of luke’s design and the outfits of the men, we’ll call them the fedora fellas, we see that attack by don paolo’s orders in the museum 

now i know what you’re thinking, “that there is just coincidence” or, “THEY MUST ALL HAVE TO WEAR FEDORAS ON MONDAYS” but i assure you, the similarities here are not accidental. there’s just no way. the design team wouldn’t love the same horrible design enough to just use it on multiple characters just cause they want to. there is just no way this has no relevance. 

while some accessories and colors may be different on luke and the men, the general design is still in place, especially with the hat being an exact copy every time. a uniform protocol is being followed here. luke is most likely not wearing choice clothes. this is a uniform, and the men are also following this uniform.

it’s also worth mentioning that even don paolo has a SORT OF similar design change to the color schemes we see in the henchmen and luke

its not entirely relevant, but the red color kind of fits the bill, and i don’t think they would also change paolo’s design for absolutely no reason.

@muzzable also made an amazing color comparison for this theory between luke’s uniform and the fedora fellas, so full credit there! 

this image analyzes the color differences between luke’s outfit and the ones worn by those men. note that obviously its not exact, and its probably not supposed to be.

that’s because this is the shit akihiro doesn’t want you to pay much attention to while watching, and its WORKING. 

this is so in the event of a betrayal it will smack you upside the jaw (my jaws been broken before, it hurts)

now another counterpoint could be, “maybe its relevant but it doesnt automatically mean that luke works with the fedora fellas or don paolo” and you’d be fucking spot on you funky little luke fanatic, but i got a lot more up my sleeve to tell you.

at the end of this theory, we’re going to move to discuss luke’s motives, but for now, we’re going to stick with the essential points. now we’re going to move onto point 2, which isn’t entirely as direct as point 1, but still holds relevance if you squint

2. Luke’s Nervous/Suspicious Behaviour in Episode 10 & ESPECIALLY 20

watch out, this point is the biggest one analysis wise

you wanna know something i noticed about episode 10 and 20?

luke looks and acts noticeably nervous in almost every scene he’s appeared in

for one example, did anybody else notice the repetitive anime sweat drop going on with no character BUT luke in episode 20, ESPECIALLY the closer they got to the relic stone chamber?

he’s sweating in a LOT of scenes, and on top if that, if you pay attention to his behaviour a lot of it is him just looking generally... worried. a lot of people discredit the anime sweat drop as a cosmetic trope, but a lot of animators actually use it to convey genuine fear or anxiety that offers hints to the direction of the plot.

it’s like he knows something we don’t about the relic stones, like he has something to hide, and he gets worse the further they go, like the closer they get to the relic stones the more nervous luke gets that he’ll have to betray the professor IN THAT MOMENT

and hershel isn’t worried or nervous at all because he TRUSTS luke and i know you could be like, “oh but luke, hes just a nervous boy” and thats all fair and good, we can safely say that luke COULD be a naturally anxious character, but these little details and luke’s general behaviour are VERY noticeable once you pay attention to them for the first time, and also the concept of him being a nervous character was never in place when he was a boy with no malicious motives that we’re speculating now

the pattern of looking luke generally troubled is also shown in episode 10, though perhaps not as noticeable as it is in 20.

while they’re discussing the relic stones and luke is explaning the situation to marina (who im pretty sure is not aware of luke’s outside motive), he gets a little nervous and hesitant when they start talking about why he was doing it. layton then finishes his sentence for him, saying it was for katrielle, indirectly saving luke from having to scramble for an explanation.  he just looks OFF.

anyway, level-5 loves using body language in their animations. in cutscenes, the characters often perform actions that define their thinking and their motive. for example, layton puts his hand on his chin and walks around, oh boy he’s going to expose someone. descole slams his hands on the piano keys in eternal diva, oh boy he’s pissed. layton points at someone, oh boy they’re the culprit. 

was luke ever THIS nervous and hesitant in the games, when he was a boy? no, not passively nervous. he was only really nervous in the face of danger. as a boy, he was actually pretty confrontational and confident.

so why act so strange here? what changed? 

luke looks pretty nervous in this anime, oh boy i wonder if there’s something bothering him that nobody knows about

i feel like now would be a good time to issue a disclaimer that also supports my points, this theory is NOT meant to imply, “oh luke’s a heartless bastard he hates layton and wants the relic stones for himself”

i have very little faith in the idea that, if luke is doing this, he would be doing it for himself, or because he wants to.

i’m confident in this theory, but im not confident that luke’s motives are just plain evil, because while his character can change and realistically SHOULD CHANGE, i don’t think he has it in him to just become evil. i think someone’s either forcing his hand (maybe similarly to clark’s situation), or giving him something he can’t refuse in return for layton. 

but more on that later.

now we move onto point 3!

3. Key Hint Passively Given by Picarats 

u guys know picarats, right? the guy that provides us with the streams, my bro, an awesome guy...

a guy that is in direct kahoots with level 5 and knows exactly how everything in the anime going to work out

beelieve it or not, picarats is actually a member of the discord server that i run (https://discord.gg/ZYxmPP) and he posts there occasionally. he’s pretty vocal with our community so it’s really not that much of a shocker that he would give us hints from time to time. we’re true bros. i love u my guy

but that’s not the point, the poINT, THE JUICY PART, the REASON why im bringing picarats up... is because he’s provided us with a crucial hint to support my theory, mainly during the episode 20 stream 

THE KEY HINT THAT PICARATS HAS GAVE US WAS...

LMDA’s storyline, in its current form and in its future presumably, is a  reflection of the events of Azran Legacy.

now this is something picarats DID say, though not entirely in verbatim, during the episode 20 stream. i promise u with every ounce of gay power in my body that he said that the anime’s storyline reflects azran legacy’s.

unfortunately, i do NOT have a screenshot because i was too busy having a psychiatric breakdown in the middle of the episode. if anyone took a screenshot of him saying that, pls send it to me, i will credit and love you forever. <3

that single hint during that stream is EXTREMELY crucial and most likely the most important one, it was one of the things that spurred my thinking about this theory, so essentially

BUT you may ask, lUKE, what is so important about the fact that the anime is supposed to mirror azran legacy?? whats the significance of that?? 

well.. u mere mortal... im about to give you a series of events from both azran legacy and LMDA

azran legacy was an adventure to discover the secrets of the azran, right?

right.

emmy, his loya resourceful assistant and friend of whomst he TRUSTS, is with him up until they are moments away from unlocking the secrets, right?

right.

then, this devastating shit happens.

emmy shows remorse for betraying layton but tells him she was doing it for someone else and wouldn’t have done it otherwise.

everyone dies.

are you following my thought process so far?

now lets go to LMDA’s current canon storyline

layton reunites with luke, who is acting nervous constantly and wears an outfit similar to the people who want the relic stones for malicious intent 

layton, fully trusting luke, leave katrielle to go on an adventure to find the relic stones, a series of artifacts that are linked to the azran.

they go on the adventure and then become moments away from unlocking the secrets of the relic stones

LAYTON GOES MISSING.

thanks picarats, that single sentence you said in a stream has turned me into a conspiracy theorist

are we broken yet? are we all nice and broken yet?? good. now we get to talk about LUKE’S POSSIBLE MOTIVES.

Luke’s Possible Motives for Betraying Layton

now this is yet another juicy part of the theory, and probably where the biggest counterargument might come into play, which is:

“bUt LUkE WoUld NeV ER dO tHAT”

bUT i will give you my theories on luke’s possible motives for concocting a scheme that wild, but before i do, i would like to give u a memorable quote from clove dive that basically sums up the point im about to make:

we, as a fandom, are collectively forgetting that it is unrealistic to think luke has barely changed in terms of personality and motive

do i blame us? no. after all, we’ve known luke as an innocent boy for about 11 years now. 

hino knows this. hino knows how good we think luke is. that’s why i said that his attempt to make us ignore the hints is WORKING.

and like i said, i can’t blame any of us at all for wanting to believe that luke hasn’t changed, but its simply unrealistic. 

as much as we don’t like to believe it, luke and layton have basically barely if not at all interacted for several years up until this point

luke is not a boy. something about luke has changed. 

and this theory attempts to connect just what that change might be.

like i said before, i wholeheartedly disbelieve that in the event this theory is accurate, luke has ‘turned evil’ just like we all believe emmy didn’t turn evil.

they were forced to do it for something that they deeply cared about.

they were forced to betray their friend for something bigger.

and i think that’s a damn exhilarating plot device.

Conclusion 

now you might have guessed that in this point in the theory i’ve gone from being serious into shitposting as my thought process usually does, and also i’ve been working on this since 3 AM, so im gonna go ahead and wrap this up with a disclaimer before you throw a chair at me.

i am in no way implying that this is canon or SHOULD be canon. i love luke and don’t want to see him betray layton, but this theory is meant to purely speculate the possibilites of the future of this anime

in a nutshell...

goku and chichi for the character thing!!

brace yourselves i’m gonna gush about my spouses. yes i’m married to both of them why do you ask

chichi first because she’ll be less overwhelming

favorite thing about them: she’s like. The Lesbian Experience. okay not really but i’m sure she was at least someone’s gay awakening, and for good reason. like… have you seen how much ass this gal kicks? she’s fantastic! i love the dynamic she has with her father and just how cutesy she is around goku even if she deserves way better than him but i could go on about that forever. ALSO i have a couple of the classic dragon ball manga and i adore the way they translated her speech? she sounds like a country bumpkin and it’s adorable. admittedly i’ve only really watched dragon ball classic but i love her and i get really happy every time she’s around!

least favorite thing about them: chichi is a very cool character. very, very cool! but she’s heavily underutilized in the narrative of dragon ball because she’s delegated to Wifey and nothing else. she could have a role alongside the z fighters but she doesn’t because toriyama doesn’t know how to write women or relationships or anything. i also really hate how even though kid chichi’s outfit is super cute it’s also weirdly revealing for a little kid and Who thought it was a good idea to have her stop wearing the helmet? the helmet was kickass! SHE’S MORE OF A CHARACTER THAN JUST “GOKU’S WIFE” Y’ALL I DON’T KNOW HOW MUCH MORE OBVIOUS I CAN MAKE THIS!!! NOT THAT I DON’T LOVE GOCHI TO SOME DEGREE BUT JESUS CHRIST!!!! THEY BOTH WORK BETTER WITH OTHER CHARACTERS!!!!!!!!! their relationship needs some serious reworking. i guess that’s my biggest issue, coupled with the fact that it’s practically chichi’s entire character…

favorite line: ooh i’m gonna quote the manga volume i have for this one because i’m no good at remembering lines. “OO, THIS IS JES’ TOO DANG FREAKY! GIT OUTTA HERE!!!” this translation of the manga is the only valid iteration of dragon ball there is, ever.

brOTP: chichi is friends with everyone. that is canon and the truth. also since i only know classic i’m not the best judge of this… but she probably gets along with vegeta pretty well at least? they hang out. talk about how dumb goku is. you know the drill.

OTP: i love how i can’t say gochi for this because their canon interactions are… Yikes. i love the ship in theory but in execution? they’re both better off dating my self-insert and they’re all married and they love one another very much anyway um… bulchi. bulma and chichi. yeah. that’s it. that’s what i was gonna say.

nOTP: lol gochi (jk i’m sure there are worse ships out there… somewhere)

random headcanon: she’s weirdly good at understanding other people’s feelings. when people vent to her she can just listen on and on and even connect with them to some degree. she’s a supportive presence and her very existence is a positive influence on the rest of the cast!

unpopular opinion: she is more of a character than just goku’s wife and she also deserves better than him. gochi is such a circumstantial thing for me haha

song i associate with them: is the song “chi-chi” too obvious? prrrrrrobably. but until i get a better idea that’s what we’re sticking with! additionally i’d like to bring up the song waves! maybe it’s too urban for her but i love it very much so. it’s chichi now. god i love chichi so much OH SHIT I THOUGHT OF ONE MORE!!! sorry i’m looking for a song for goku and it just occurred to me that Apple Blossom suits her WONDERFULLY i’m going to cry THAT’S MY GIRL!!!!!!!!!

favorite thing about them: I LOVE SON GOKU SO DAMN MUCH!!!! HE IS SO CUTE AND SUCH A FUN AND VERSATILE CHARACTER AND HIS VOICE IS PRECIOUS AND HE’S SUPER HANDSOME IN DBZ AND??? AND I LOVE AND SUPPORT HIM SO MUCH? Right Now. also i have a goku plush and he’s precious have a nice day!

least favorite thing about them: okay there’s a lot to say here. a Lot a lot a lot. but my biggest issue is the fact that goku is an incredibly static character. he doesn’t change or express himself almost ever. i don’t know how much of this is Shounen Protagonist Syndrome and how much of it is toriyama’s flaws as a writer but it really stresses me out! saiyajin emotional suppression is one thing and not knowing how to feel is another, but goku’s levels of Feeling Nothing are off the fucking charts. he’s also a terrible father and family man and is totally willing to just run off somewhere and get badly hurt without telling anyone. most of this would be fine if it was actually addressed and if goku changed as a character, but he never does. how do we know if he’s happy with chichi when even love seems like a foreign concept to him?

favorite line: okay we’re getting positive again. “You can tell girls and boys apart just by looking? Awesome!”  let me use a manga quote for this because i have them on me and i love the way his dialogue is written. goku’s reaction to getting shot multiple times: “Ha! Dummy! Stupid! Y’think you can hurt me?! With little owchies like that?! Hah!” (note: i had to take a break from the character meme here because i got too distracted by my incredible love for this manga)

brOTP: GOKU AND BULMA ARE BFFS!!! also goku and oolong even though oolong totally has a thing for goku and goku doesn’t notice because he’s an oblivious baby

  It doesn't take a smartass to realize what went down, but of course, sometimes things get a little complicated and the kinks need to be ironed out.

Astro stood up from the floor with the biggest confusion he's ever had to face this entire year.

“Did… did we go overboard?” Astro tried walking to the fridge.

“No no, you just knocked out halfway and I guess fell off the couch while I was sleeping,” Reno replied.

“Ouch. I really need to stop doing that.” Astro rubbed his head.

“But whatever the case… best make out in a while.”

Reno couldn't help but chuckle.

“I'm telling you.” Astro peeled a wrapper off of a cheese stick, “You break out the wrist grabbing and suddenly everything gets kinkier.”

“Hmmm, I guess.” Reno shrugged.

Astro brushed off Reno’s remark, opting to just take a bite of his cheese stick instead.

“So umm… I was thinking… do you wanna go out somewhere?” Reno asked

“Hmmm I dunno, it would be nice to see what the squad is up to.” Astro shrugged.

“You mean smart ass and his two boyfriends?”

“What?”

“Aw come on Astro, it doesn't take a smartass to know they're all in it together.”

“Oh.” Astro took another bite, “Better go congratulate them then.”

“I suppose so…” Reno shrugged.

“We’ll just stop and say hi, no biggie.”

“Okay fine… but you're paying for gas.” Reno replied.

“Somethings just never change.” Astro shook his head.

Astro knocked on the door to Ken’s house who opened it not long after.

“Congratulations on your relationship, Kennedy!” Astro greeted.

Ken looked shocked. “I… uh…” his cheeks went red. “Reno did you tell him!”

“The only justifiable thing to do after you talked smack about us,” Reno smirked.

“He what?” Astro looked confused.

“It-It’s nothing.” Reno smiled.

Ken looked ashamed for a moment.

“You better not tell anyone else.” He muttered.
