i don’t condone cheating or ghosting but what else was simon supposed to do? he tried to break up with marcus and was manipulated into staying in a relationship he didn’t want and wasn’t ready for

as lovesick and selfish as wille was this season/end of last season he accepted the end of their relationship. when simon broke up with him he was obviously sad but he accepted it and (although it took him some time) eventually moved on in s2. hell even before he moved on he didn’t do any of the guilt tripping marcus does. as selfish as wille was he was always honest with his intentions and that’s more than i can say for marcus

i truly went into this season ready to defy the odds and not hate marcus but even when wille was selfish and hurting people with his actions he still showed how much he cared even if he was being petty. like when simon rebuffed his attempts at touching him and rekindling their old relationship without solving anything wille backed off. was he petty about it and made snide comments (‘is it okay if i sit here? i know how much you value your space’) but he still respected the touch boundary simon had set. he tried to let simon go after he realized he was happy with marcus. hell he even made polite small talk with marcus to show simon that he accepted their relationship because he’s learned that actions speak louder than words. as much as it was killing him he thought letting simon go was what was best for both of them so he was willing to do it

unlike marcus who preyed on simons insecurities and told him what he wanted to hear to keep him in the relationship. the way he blanked simon’s attempt to break up with him will never sit right with me

wille might have been selfish for not wanting to let simon go but marcus was more selfish for actively preventing simon from leaving

#one the best things I've learned to do in the last five years is advocate for myself #new people took over the kennel I contract at and they haven't been giving me any of the boarding nail trims #I've been a little miffed about it but didn't say anything bc I assumed it was a money thing - if I do the nail trim I get commission #but if a kennel tech does it they don't get commission #today I caught them with a special baby of mine tho and they had just gotten started so I said #I'm supposed to be the only one who does her nails #and the tech was thrilled bc she doesn't like doing nail trims anyway #so after that I pulled myself together and said something to the manager about how the old owner had me do basically all of the nail trims #and he goes #great! #we all hate doing nail trims #and I ended up with 3 today and 2 tomorrow which is an extra $25 in my pocket so that's awesome #i really have found just talking about things like an adult (calmly and rationally) can get you the things you want most of the time #ig bc I grew up with a parent who would sometimes snap at me just for speaking I always expect the worst reactions from people #but so far I've found I almost always get the best #and even when I don't get what I want #nobody has yelled at me for asking

finally gotten around to completing my csm pt1 reread and im also up to date on p2 and im about to say something i could be hung on the cross flayed and quartered for but. Jjk is literally a better manga

#like. jjk seems basic and just kind of okay when u first read it then get more intricate and cool and impressive the more u think about it. #meanwhile rereading csm and reading fujimoto’s other stuff makes cms LESS impressive bc you start realizing fujimoto doesnt really have #the amazing understanding of tje human soul he seems like he does at first but rather has just understood a few thing about a few sorts of #people and has gotten good at showing those in unconventional ways. which is a skill in itself ig #but like under all the special effects and wow factor and shock and surprise at how weird and bombastic csm is #there really isnt as much substance there as it seems at first. and he reuses the same gimmicky ideas over n over. and he can only draw l #like 3 faces. #plus the lore/worldbuilding is not nearly as inherently logical OR well explored as in jjk #like tue power system in jjk genuinely feels like physics from another universe that u can speculate and draw legitimate conclusions about #based on the info ur given. meanwhile csm’s worldbuilding works on a ‘whatever fujimoto thought was coolest and/or more shocking at #the time’. which isn’t exactly a flaw ig but makes me way more into jjk bc i love figuring that kind of stuff out #anyway #jjk #csm #personal
