I finished wild arms yesterday! what a great game

#wild arms #wild arms 1 #cecilia adlehyde #jack van burace #rudy roughnight #earth golem #art tag #i really really loved this one im so glad i finished it #its really fun and not overly long for a jrpg (about 30 hours) #also gets my seal of approval in that despite what all promotional material would have you believe cecilia is the main character #like its not even a question she just is. compounded by the fact that if you want to you can play as her the whole time #my biggest criticism would prob be that by the end of the game the party feels kind of unbalanced especially in boss fights #cecilia can do so much shit and the boys basically just do different kinds of big damage lol #cecilia can also do big damage but shes too busy healing and buffing and debuffing and all that #its not all that hard though so its not a huge deal just kind of funny #anyway i definitely want to play the rest of the series at some point. apparently theres an anime too?? exciting

okay not to come of as a hater for a second but i'm thinking about this again and kind of want to get the thought out...

is it just me or is the way people discuss pilots online a little... odd? don't get me wrong, it's honestly really cool to see people get so hyped up and invested in something based on the pilot alone, but from how some people discuss them it belies a bit of a misunderstand of what a pilot is supposed to be and do.

a pilot is a proof of concept for something, not the finished product. this is most evident with pilots produced the traditional route, where the final series may be wildly different from the initial pitch (the first one that comes to mind is the gravity falls pilot, although it's still pretty similar to what we did end up getting).

so it's... i'm a little concerned for the inevitable fallout when a popular pilot becomes a series that's different from it's initial pitch, i suppose

#like i really enjoyed the amazing digital circus pilot #and im excited to see how it changes and grows... but it seems like somewhere along the line #there came this false impression that a pilot HAS to be the template for a show #as opposed to the first 'complete' version of what an episode has the POTENTIAL to be #i remember noting a lot of odd discussion too when the lackadaisy pilot dropped... #and again dont get me wrong VERY EXCITING and LOTS to talk about even before the series was funded #but i remember the discussion centering around the pilot in a way that was like... treating it as if it were the finished product #less like a test run and more like a full short film? #idk i just worry someone somewhere will get in a kerfuffle and i hope it doesnt happen #jonnie's thoughts

You know what, Andor is fucking awesome, they didnt have to go that hard with this show, they really didnt, no one was expecting it to be any good, but it was legitimately amazing and made me love Cassian, something i never expected to say before, he's not exactly your typical hero, and for a franchise like Star Wars, that often follows the hero's journey blueprint to a tee, it was a nice change. The whole show had plenty of subversions of expectations (but in a good way...), the pacing was perfect, the editing, the MUSIC, the acting, the WRITING, i loved it, and i cant wait for season 2

Thoughts on Mork vs Mhok?

SFJKSGKFGSKGSH I MEAN. it really is just a matter of romanization and which system translators choose to use: for the RTGS (royal thai general system of transcription) the word หมอก would be 'mhok', for the IPA (international phonetic alphabet) it would be 'mork', for the bua luang ('what you see is what you say' dictionary) it would be 'mawk', etc.

this is the reason why some time ago we got the same discussion for sand vs san in only friends and for chan vs charn in laws of attraction (and technically in last twilight we also have the same 'problem' with phorjai vs phojai)

King!!! King is back!!! Unfortunately it comes at the cost of him obviously being the Collector's servant basically. At least he still has François.

King also reads a book about the Collector, similar to how the end of S1 he read a book about Belos. It's an easy way to add lore to the show, and it calls back to another time he did so

Not only do we get curly redhead Lilith, but she has a pixie cut now too!!! Her glasses are gone tho :(

All of the Coven Heads (but Terra?) got turned to puppets ;___; as have most other citizens including Hooty, Principal Bump & the other Hexside teachers, and some of the other student body like the grudgby players

Also Eda does not seem to have a prosthetic like most people predicted, which makes me wonder what happened to Alador

I'm not sure how I feel by the idea that almost all adults got captured, it does feel specifically like The Collector (a child like God) did it on purpose, but it still is kinda :/ to know most of my fav supporting cast are puppets now to conveniently write them all out of the episode so as to keep the cast from bloating. Like I get why it was done but I'm still salty about it

The Coven Heads (again except maybe Terra?? Idk why she wasn't there? Did she pledge loyalty well enough to not need to be puppetfied? Did she escape? Die? Lol could you imagine) all have slight whimsical features added to their designs, as with everyone who got puppetfied, but for once they're all moving & working in tandem haha. Raine's close up not only killed me, but gave a good callback to when they got captured by Kikimora then "brainwashed" for weeks afterwards. The parallels of Raine pretending to be an enemy vs now they are but completely against their will. Bah. I'm dying, I'm afraid to see Eda's face in that scene. ;__; I'm really unhappy to have any Raeda fluff or bonding during this special (or suggested to have happened in between KT & FTF) robbed from us, but angst is classic Raeda vibes so I'm not surprised

I did also notice we didn't see any hints of Amity, Gus, or Willow's families at all. All we know is Eda & Lilith seem to have escaped puppetfication. I have a feeling Hooty took the puppetfication blast for Lilith in that moment

I'm stoked about Lilith having red hair again, and I was not expecting her & Eda to both cut their hair short! Everyone's getting hair style changes!

This will definitely be a Collector lore heavy episode, if only for the fact King was reading that book about them. I wonder if there used to be more children of the stars, and where the others went/are if there were

And lastly I'm at the photo cap but Belos is there too. He is using glyphs to burrow into some area, and he's killing the wildlife as he goes. Y'know, classic Belos behavior. I wonder if he's trying to get to where Caleb's mangled remains are, and if so what the plan is from there. I doubt Belos will play a large part in this episode as it seems very heavily focused on The Collector instead, which I'm fine with as I figured the final confrontation with Belos was gonna be the last special, what with him being the main villain of the show.

Despite any hangups I have I'm very excited to see the special! I know Dana & the crew worked hard on it
