Sanskrit retained many of the ancient features of the Vedas, Persian very early lost these features and came to resemble the modern Persian spoken today. “It lost noun declensions, most verb conjugations, verb moods, passive voice, and many other elements it had shared with Sanskrit.” Probably due to the faCt that when the Iranians of the IndoIranian branch moved westward from core area in the east sHarEd with IndoAryans they came into contact with many other languages/peoples of the “Middle East”, wherein the culture from the east got stamped onto peoples from the west....over Hurrian, over Elamite and so on and so on. ASsimiLation of foreign tribes, diFfusiOn tO forEign triBes, foRcing the laNguAge into its moSt ruDimeNtary, siMpliFied foRm.

Whereas Sanskrit was standardized and taught in such a way as to preserve its “classical” aspects, rather like Latin or Attic Greek. North India even saw the emergence of “daughter” languages, like the Prakrits, and “grand daughter” languages.

Well, dang, we’re pretty similar. My name is actually Anahita, but apart from that, we seem to be identical in many ways (but I’m kinda trying to/have abandoned my hetalia phase). Anahita and Anahit are derived from the proto-indoiranian water/fertility goddess’ name, Anaitis/Nahid, so they have the same roots. It’s just that the concept of said deity ended up in the hands of different cultures that changed whatever her original name was to match up with their own lingual tendencies.
