Checkmate Submission

“Traitor.”

She could still hear the word, even if it had been spoken to her far too long ago for living, human memory. Spoken by none other than her brother. He used his given name- Iridath- with pride, but she had cast hers aside.

Checkmate

Checkmate is a “Demon of Song”. She, and all others of her species, lure in their prey with a sweet melody, before devouring them whole- some will hunt for sport, some only if necessary. Some are quick with their kills. Some drag it out. However, they stay together as a species- especially as families. To betray one’s family, to them, is considered treason.

But what if the family betrays them first?

She had run far, far away. They would never find her. They would never bother to look. But to be alone like this is a slippery slope for any one of them. Hunting for need turned into hunting for sport. Hunting for sport turned into killing for fun. Killing for fun turned into the desperate need to feel blood on her hands. And the lady of song became the monster they wanted her to be.

Romantic/sexual orientation: Panromantic, assxual

Personality: Checkmate is soft-spoken and level headed until she’s angry or desperate for a kill. The same thing goes for her mental stability. Otherwise, she can be a surprisingly calming person. Checkmate is a very independant person, and if someone tries to baby her or talk down to her, they’re nothing but another victim if they don’t learn their place. She can be too proud of herself and sometimes vain. This, and people being too pushy about the things that have happened to her, are the two main reasons she’ll get really, honestly angry.

The “Vine Shibari” is a living symbiotic plant that works as a energy focus for her nature stuff. She keeps a variety of plants, flowers and seeds that she grows herself with different powers and things.

The Abukibar! 

Sasquatch like sentients inhabiting the the thickest and most unhospitable forests and jungles of Iridath. They are capable of vocal speach but communicate almost exclusively through a hand sign language with occasional hoots and grunts to emphasize.
