I love your headcanons about Hashirama and his mokuten. It not only aligns with my own but it’s very much one of the most in-depth ideas related to his Mokuton that I’ve ever seen. Also I love hashirama which means I need him to suffer up to his eyeballs in angst. I wanted to ask though, in canon we see that despite Hashirama’s mostly happy demeanor, he’s sort of prone to these ‘sudden’ moments of deep depression where he becomes self-flagellant over his mistakes. It’s played a bit for laughs in the anime but how do you think those moments where his emotions plummet like a fall of a cliff, would effect his Mokuton. Because it feels like those moments are different than him just feeling sad.

Okay so maybe I'm alone on this but when hashirama gets suddenly depressed it doesn't feel like a genuine emotional display to me. Like, I'm sure there's a basis in reality. I'm sure he says or does things without thinking them all the way through and then he's like "oh shit oops" but I don't think he gets that genuinely upset. The display feels too heightened. Like something you would do to make kids laugh after they say something to "hurt" you feelings. And it's very disarming to opponents so it allows people to underestimate him. Mostly I feel this way because we never see it actually being disruptive to his life. It just feels suspicious controlled (mostly bc it's used as comedic relief but i choose to take that timing seriously). So yeah, I think it's more an automatic performance that lets him get away with things rather than a real plummet of his mood. Therefore he would probably make plants wilt and algae grow to add to the performance. And I think the self flagellation comes from a place of being a lot smarter and more self aware than he's given credit for. Unlike a lot of other characters, I think hashirama is aware of how fucked up some of his actions are but at that point he doesn't know how to stop the trainreck from happening. He doesn't know what else he can do. It all feels inevitable.

But maybe im wrong. If it's genuine, then I'd imagine chakra comes spooling off of him and stimulates growth in whatever happens to be around. Which is a lot more dangerous fungi wise. And/or his body recklessly unfurls into roots and branches 😬

The more you hang out with him the harder it is for him to hide his feelings

It's drawn in the same style as Lyney's: very textured lines, slightly reminscent of linocuts, quite a few handdrawn parts, especially where there's water/liquid movement present, etc. Maybe this is a Fontaine style animated cutscene, since the oceanids and lyney are both from there? anyways. i'm intrigued—I wanna see if there are regional cutscene styles or something (that'd be very impressive)

Real thoughts: I think it was actually really sweet how he fell in love with a fairytale. Someone said the oceanid could've been aromantic coded to make their love story more morally palatable; I agree, it would've been cool if she was aro, but I don't think their romantic relationship is like somehow terrible and gross either

overall ending was really mid tbh, I appreciate the character growth of everyone who was on screen but literally all the other characters just disappeared. It was really unsatisfying lol especially for an event that was supposed to be hte gathering/unison of mond and liyue

would've been better if the second day's rhyming couplets ended the event I think; you'd have to tweak it to fit the mood of the oceanid/finch reveal but literally anything works, the ending was so anticlimactic

overall event: 10/10 for giving me the character interactions I wanted, and those that I never knew I needed, 5/10 because the minigames are. not the best, I get the intentions but the execution could've been better. And then 5/10 for story arc (heavily influenced by how mid the ending was LMAO)

I, unaware of summer identifying unironically as like, biromantic heterosexual, had accidentally started a fight about microlabels in the discourse channel, which ended in her refusing to speak to me further on the topic because she "couldnt control herself from hurting me", which were big words from someone i was not scared of in any way, but slay.

Regardless, the server moved forward.

Kirishima was, in this setting, a gay guy. I'm pretty sure he also had lesbian moms. Summer decided to take the exciting "discovering your identity" approach, despite confiding in us that she really didn't come out until well into adulthood, but one is not limited to live experience in the world of fiction, yeah? however, i think some people should be.

anticipation builds in the ooc chat. monoma makes an off-hand comment about being gay. kirishima asks, "what's that?"

we are aghast. this continues. not only does imaginary gay kirishima not know what gay is, he doesnt know what lgbt stands for. when a comment is made that he could google it, a joke about it all being inappropriate images is dropped. the homophobia is beginning to stink. however i have promised i would not get into more fights (liar) so me and the shinsou and bakugou rpers are just like, ribbing at it a little in the ooc chat. like, "man, i wish i was this sheltered growing up, maybe i wouldnt have been bullied in school" or something to that effect, which summer takes very personally and adamantly defends her right to imagine a world where it is in any way realistic for a sixteen year old who is gay and has gay moms to be this stupid.

It was such beautiful insight into their minds. A world in which one can skip all the annoying gay people parts of sexuality labels and instead dive right into the microcosms of what was solely relevant to them. it also fantastically predicted the future homophobia i would be subject to, including a line about how "gay people had enough and wouldnt stop stealing ace rep" about the magnus archives, and also the todoroki conversion therapy moment, but this was really just a truly incredible appetizer to the full course of dumb fuckery.

in the latest deranged job search situations i seemingly got an interview with someone who both wants to hire me and does not literally baffling interaction after baffling interaction.. like he was kind of idk awkward in the interview and asked almost zero questions about me just decided to monologue about the company values and good customer service and told me to call him the next day to ask if i got the job AFTER he told me to give him my email address again which surely seems like an easier mode of communication ok whatever odd but not insane yet so the next day i call he doesnt answer i call again he says actually we arent hiring for the location i interviewed you at but we have openings at this other location he seemed annoyed i wanted to simply look up where it was before agreeing and said to call him back and hung up on me ok weird whatever i call him back after determining it is in fact not too far away whatever and hes like um ok uh ill call you tomorrow with more details after i talk to the manager at that location and im like can you email me and hes like sure so its 5pm the next day and im like ok calls again he answers he still barely seems to know who i am he indicates hes also attempting to hire managers i still dont even know what his position at this business is but its a small restaurant chain with two locations and hes probably the owner??? hes like ok can we schedule you for signing paperwork on monday start on tuesday and says there needs to be 24 hours to process the paperwork before i start working every interaction has been so bizarre and like pulling teeth im vaguely confused how he could manage to process it in time for starting the next day and say yes thats fine with moderate hesitation and hes like i can call you back in 20 minutes for you to think it over im like no tuesday is fine but hes like ok ill call you back in 20 minutes with more info and i have not heard from him since like literally what on earth is going on over there... like do you want employees????? just say you dont want to hire me literally baffling interactions it felt more like idk am i being suckered into a pyramid scheme or something who behaves like this but whatever i guess i dont have a job after all truly deranged experience everyone loves to play games with me forever and ever and ever

Hey! Idk if this is the right blog to send this to lol but I feel like alloros have this weird need to rigidly define relationships ?? Like, the three big "types" of love that we tend to talk about are romantic love, familial love and platonic love and I get the impression that alloros always try to fit every relationship into one of these categories. I noticed this because Ive been revisting a piece of media that centers around a pretty a weird and complicated relationship between the two main characters that cant really be defined as any of those and yet people try soooo hard to make it fit one of those even though it just. doesnt. The specific moment where I truly noticed this was when I was reading a longer fanfic about them where their relationship is somewhat ambigious and then at the very end its defined as brotherly ?? Even though its not like that in canon or even in that fanfic ?? The first thought I had after reading that was "alloro voice I Need To Rigidly Define Relationships Or I Will Die" lmao

Also, while scouring through fanfics of them, Ive seen someone describe their relationship as 'affective' which is just. mwah, perfect I really hope that term catches on because I love it so much

i love this though, i think ur 100% correct!! it’s SO true a lot of allos feel the need to force a clear cut label onto all relationships bc the idea of something existing in the ‘in between’ seems to often make them kinda confused and uncomfortable?? and there really isn’t any mainstream terminology to refer to these kinds of ‘ambiguous’ relationships either, which is why so many of them are baffled by and quick to dismiss things like ‘alterous attraction’ and QPRs out of hand. a lot of people just don’t have the framework to quantify how these things work since the idea of the ‘relationship binary’ (platonic vs romantic) is so deeply ingrained in their heads :/

or, an alternative that i personally find worse because i myself have struggled with it a lot: you may have horrible parents who didnt support you and you may still feel resilient. and if someone comes along and tells you that you can only be ~truly resilient~ if you had the social support, youll start wondering..... are you misremembering? were people supporting you, and youre being a monster by painting them as bad? are you maybe not resilient at all? are you really fucked up and are going to need therapy because all adults do?

you might. you might not. answers to these things are too complex for tumblr posts, and i certainly wouldnt trust people whose blogs are 50% terf reblogs and who claim that science has "proven" anything or that things are "always" a certain way. nothing ever is.

Under the draping humidity of spring, when the petrichor scent emerged through from the ground and the shade of swaying trees fell languid, the foam of interest bubbled in his chest.

“She’s right, Geto. Even Gojo wouldn’t pull off this stunt.” Shoko pointed to their albino classmate, who was drenched in boxes of chocolate. If their school was not private property, he shudders to know what chaos that would bring.

He sighed, ashamed, “I know,” the blue shadows of his disillusionment hung over his face, “but… all the florist boutiques were completely sold out…”

His face fell further as he remembered the closed doors and the empty resignation on their faces. This year, there had been a new trend online of buying excessive amounts of flowers to showcase the proportionate love you hold for them. It was a rather recent trend that proliferated too fast for stocks to handle, and now, because he was so stupid to go so late, he couldn’t get any flowers. Even the ones from gardens on the sides of the roads were picked up! How shameless!

He scratched his cheek with a finger.

“Enough. Geto feels guilty enough as it is. Should you not all, as classmates, aid him in this endeavor instead?” A voice called, before an electrifying sensation ran through Geto’s body.

The entire school was assembled with the exception of Asya, and thus, it began.

When Geto asked for Asya to come with him, she had to admit it was odd, but she still trailed next to him as he wanted to, anticipating something good to happen.

First, when he led her through the corridors, cut, fake plants rained from the sky. Asya was slightly unnerved, and began thinking of her plants instead. Gojo gave Utahime a thumbs up from afar.

With correspondence, Geto led Asya through the entire school, standing by her side. The sun was setting, and a fizzle of peace bled though the clouds, an atmosphere of both contentment that has built up, alongside a passive intensity. It made her chest palpate, and, she’s close enough around him to smell the cologne he uses.

Finally, he could not wait any longer. The two of you stopped near the edge of the mountain, where the sun spun the brightest as it left. On a singular chest table, where the two of them frequented, was a bouquet of flowers. The flowers Asya grew with Geto.

“…” His face was flushed an adorable shade of red, reaching the tips of his ears. He’s looking down, and with two hands, held the bouquet.

“I’m in love with you, Asya,” he says, voice lower and tender, enunciating the syllables of her name softly, and now, his eyes are piercing right through hers, a shining fervor that has been bubbling in his chest from when they met finally emerging from his eyes. It’s a red hot line that ran straight to his heart. “Will you have me?”

however, not only that, rose thorns will appear on your opponents as indication of the poison, much like the cursed technique rot.

The day you met her, she had been pulled into her first, and last, ever mission. There is a reason why they never sent you out again, and why the jujutsu system lets you bypass so easily sometimes when you get promoted. Without you, she would have lost her life on that day. To that end, she’s also a great friend of yours, likened to hang out with you whenever you wish.

— UTAHIME IORI, NANAMI KENTO, HAIBARA are all grouped together in this one clump of paragraph because, well, they share very similar yet varying thoughts regarding Asya. In similarities, Asya has been giving them advice and whatnot on their training. She was not inclined towards fighting herself, but watching people over the ages had brought her insight on the caricature of how to bring out the potential of others. Theyre excited around you internally, and act like theyre you’re younger siblings. What a funny trio to bond with, but, very heartwarming too. The three of you all have various personalities that bounce off extremely well, creating an amazing chemistry of dynamics. Utahime is hotheaded, nanami is the “boring” one, haibara is enthusiastic, and you are their favorite 👍🏻 you’re stuck with them now

ahh damn the creator was so disappointing! i’m seriously so bored by the gruff man finds a magical child thing. i’m bored by robot stories that are about becoming human and reproduction. a lot of recent big budget sci fi is SO BORING

but this one also has a lot of very strange forced errors its truly baffling. the soldiering in this film is written by someone who hasn’t even seen good soldiering in movies. is nomad one ship or one command ship with satellite ships? how can its target lasers hit the ground in multiple places at a time if its just one ship? is this ship in orbit or in atmosphere? where does any of this take place? why is it just some vaguely racist feeling pan-asian elsewhere? is the army using suicide bomber robots supposed to make me realize they are hypocritical? why doesnt nomad have surface guns to shoot down the shuttle? why does the army have two different logos in two different typefaces? why does nomad only have one launcher? why are these strike teams going in with six to eight bright lights on each person in nighttime? why is no time spent with any resistance characters at all in some attempt to help us understand the stakes here? why does the programming error thing get two sentences of dialog and nothing else? why does joshua go with the army at the end? how is the army not able to kill alfie? can’t they just nuke her? what happened with alfie getting shot? why does no one ever see the gigantic sticky mines stuck their backs? why is it edited so choppily? why is the dialogue so horrible? why is the news montage is retro futurism? why, if it is an original screenplay, does it feel like it was adapted from an infinitely more satisfying short story or novella and instead of fleshing out the interesting bits they just rendered another shot of nomad nuking some brown people?

yknow . people on twt claiming ran n jackie are like cc!beeduo is concerning not just bc. theyre wrong. but also bc that implies any characters played by the ccs are equal to the ccs which not only becomes concerning because it heavily blurs the line between c!beeduo (married and have a child) and cc!beeduo (friends that joke around), but also has like. very unfortunate implications about. how these people manage to engage with the dream smp and similar things by the creators, as well as roleplay content in general?

because see, the fact is is that some characters are more like the ccs than others, and that yes, shipping can be fucked up if the ccs dont consent, because the characters started off based after the ccs relationships and some still keep this aspect (techno and phil for example have a similar dynamic in and out of character), while many others.. dont. they actively play into different dynamics, ones that before certain developments would look kind of fucked up (c!tubbo and c!ranboo have a distinctly different relationship than the ccs, as do c!karlnapity vs the ccs). theres a difference between putting two or more characters with an established purely platonic relationship in a relationship that isnt friendship, and acknowledging that two or more characters are canonically established to be something other than just friends. yes dsmp being the way it is makes this line something that cannot be treaded because of how the ccs traits and personalities can shine through their characters, however.

that is purely because (most of) the characters are actively inspired by the ccs in some way and often share names. otherwise, the dream smp is just a normal roleplay. series connected to it like tftsmp are completely roleplay and very rarely have characters directly inspired by the people playing them. karl, connor, and glatt are the only characters who are from the dream smp storyline. all other characters are simply connected to the world, but may not even be in the same timeline. they are intentionally played to have different personalities, names, stories, and usually appearances differ as well, with them only referencing the dsmp characters/ccs, even their voices are often different! and the thing is, itd be ridiculous to say "these characters are basically just like the ccs" because, well.... ranbob isnt dream, yeah? helga isnt quackity, porkius isnt techno, laggius isnt fundy, geneviene isnt niki, crops isnt corpse husband, so. ran isnt ranboo, and jackie isnt tubbo. simple really.

yes, please do keep creator boundaries in mind when interacting with characters from the dream smp, but when it comes to stuff like tftsmp, thats just.. normal roleplay. it only comes off as concerning to act as if theyre Just Like The CCs, especially, yknow, considering the fact that the episode was about murder? jackies skin is tubbos cogchamp skin and rans name is from ranboo and both of them are voiced by beeduo but.. thats where the similarities end. they have different personalities, jackie flirts with ran and actively shows an attachment to him, ran is, much more aloof than ranboo is, theyre from a completely different time and setting, etc etc. tubbo and ranboo have expressed that the shipping boundary is about irl shipping- and that fictional content is okay as long as it doesnt go too far.

and well.. it concerns me that a simple kiss is enough to be considered Too Far? even pushing aside the general discussion about boundaries, theres one concern in particular that pops out to me. and thats the "theyre minors, so shipping them is wrong" argument. i have many many complicated feelings about this argument, but what i dont like about it is the implication that minors cant be in relationships. theres a difference between putting minors in sexual content, especially young ones (of which is not okay because minors cant consent) and. having two teenagers (one of which is 18 and the other turning 18 soon instory- and again, another reminder that ran and jackie arent beeduo) kiss briefly and not going any further after one flirts with the other throughout the fic and the other starts realizing they care and reciprocate.

queer minors deserve to have representation. queer minors deserve to be acknowledged. the relationship in the fic may be romantic leaning, but is also free to see as queerplatonic, its complicated and not even the main plot of the story, just the plotline that helps get the story to its climax. its a narrative device, which is what relationships in fictional media should be. the point isnt just. shipping two minors (which isnt inherently bad unless theyre either like. little kids, framed in a sexual way when the og content isnt like that, or sends some uncomfortable message in any other way), but it doesnt. really matter that its happening.

and see, its a fictional story inspired by fictional characters from a public roleplay thats vaguely connected to some other public roleplay, and.. people are acting as if its directly connected to two of the people behind the roleplay that the other roleplay is loosely connected to that the characters that the story is inspired by are from is just so. weird because even explaining how this connects to the actors outside of just "theyre the actors" is a goddamn mouthful that cant be as easily simplified into "romantic shipfic of the actors" because it just isnt.

yeah /-: like, this is so weird for me personally because i am usually the one who won't hesitate to make a given discussion about gender inequality and sexism when it is actually there, as that's almost always the case, but in this one? I don't see gender at all and im genuinely wondering why some feminists are trying to make it all about gender and toxic masculinity and macho culture or whatever. on one side you have people who criticise will smith because - if he truly wanted to do something to help his wife - apparently he should have handed her the mic and be like "go sweetie, come up with a smart one liner or a powerful empowering speech against body-shaming here on the spot and put the gritty dumb comedian back in his place. show everyone how independent and strong and free you are on your own". because apparently that's what happens irl when some smart ass decides you are fair game and targets one of your insecurities and your partner happens to be present, right? i stg, people are so far removed from reality sometimes, it just completely baffles me. like what even is their baseline for coming up with these unrealistic completely out-of-touch scenarios

on the other side, you have the self-effacing peacekeepers, who deal in absolutes and, if possible, are even farther removed from reality than the former category. so basically, one man's physical instinctive reaction to his wife's public shaming equals to the comedian's premeditated insensitive verbal aggression. there is truly no difference between these two things, according to them. nuance is dead, common sense lies by its side. i am not even going to bring up what problematic implications this particular mindset breeds for the abuse survivors, because I doubt they even thought that far before even stringing together inconclusive stupid sentences and posting them on the internet without a moment's hesitation.

when feminism and activism stop focusing on the victims and start trying to make the activist feel good about themselves and also smarter than everyone else, that's when you know it is just self-referencial celebration dressed up as social justice and it's of no use to the community anymore
