König x Reader Headcanons
this is my first post!!!! im so excited!! i have had an extremely annoying day and just wanted to write these down to cheer me up a bit- hope you guys like them as well :) some of these are self indulgent so forgive me. im writing my könig fic but its taking a while since finals are upon me :/ Warnings: NSFW at the bottom, I put an indicator before :)
He is an extremely active listener. If he’s standing and you are talking to him, he has his feet pointed towards you and his head ducked down a bit so he can hear you better since he’s so tall. Nods along to whatever you say and generally has attentive body language
Remembers the smallest details from any conversation. You tell him a story about your childhood pet and months later he will casually say the pet’s name in another conversation. It always takes you off guard a little
When he realizes he likes you, he panics. Writes frantically in his journal for about 3 hours about it.
You catch on to his little crush pretty quickly, given how he lingers near you more than anyone else and gets shy at the smallest interactions
When you finally confess to him that you feel similarly he is so incredibly happy but flustered. Had to take a cold shower that night to calm himself down
Gives you little gifts all the time (one of his love languages for sure). A drawing he did, a flower he saw on the side of the road, some candy he brought from home, etc
Also collects anything you may gift him. Hoards them and protects them like they are living and breathing
Goes through them on nights when you two have to be apart. He can be extremely sentimental
If you are an artist in anyway, he is your HYPE MAN. Hangs up your drawings/poems/photographs, whatever it may be, in his little dorm room
He melts if you cook/bake him something homemade. Like seriously might get choked up. He loves the smell of baked goods, it always makes him feel right at home. You always try to bake him something on his birthday and he is over the moon about it
Protective but knows you can handle yourself most of the time. Despite his introverted nature he will defend you loudly and aggressively if he senses that it’s necessary
He loves any little weird quirks you may have. You love the smell of clean laundry? He thought it was so cute when you would sniff the shirts coming out of the dryer
OH OH OH LOVES THE THING WHERE YOU HAVE ONE HEADPHONE AND HE HAS THE OTHER AND YOU LISTEN TO THE SAME MUSIC AND JUST HANG OUT. oh man
Accidentally bumps into/knocks you with his hands or arms soooo often. He’s a big boy who doesnt quite have spatial awareness sometimes
He feels so bad everytime it happens and just cradles your face in his hands and apologizing so rapidly (it never really hurts but you like the attention so)
If you dont know german he will give you a “german word of the day” and will say it to you the entire day in context until you guess what it means
Is so excited when you guess right
Not gonna be into PDA it’s too much for him. He’s just constantly your shadow 24/7 in public. The most is having a hand on your back or shoulder so you don’t get lost in a crowd
In private however. Clingiest boy alive (his other love language is physical touch)
Lives for you laying your head on his lap. Plays with your hair or traces your features while he talks to you about his day or a book he started reading
Has the most expressive eyes in the world
I headcannon him as ginger, his hair slightly shaggy (haircuts give him anxiety so he does it himself when it starts to get in his eyes) and wavy
light freckles on his cheeks and across his nose!!!
With his blue eyes he is truly such a picture of beauty
He isn’t super weird about showing his face to you. When you start hanging out outside of work duties he doesn’t wear it, and appreciates that you dont bring attention to it
Sometimes you make a little comment about him being pretty and his face is on FIRE but he just quietly says thank you and has a little smile on his face
Compliments you shyly but often, will not make eye contact with you when he says it
Writes you super heartfelt notes that he will leave you to find because he can better express himself that way
Don’t get me wrong though he has his moments where he can be very very cocky!!
For example: right after a successful mission when he is still riding the adrenaline rush, he is much touchier with you even in front of others
If you need him to reach something he loves that and gets a little power trip. Teases you and makes you jump to get it from him a bit
If he notices that he made YOU blush, wooo boy he loves to tease you. “Did you like that, hmm?”, with a sickly sweet smile
NSFW BELOW
The first time was extremely soft and slow and sweet. He was very eager but very unsure of himself. Didn’t know where to put his hands. You had to guide him and reassure him and he didn’t last very long but it was sweet
He whimpered the entire time
After that, he slowly gains confidence and learns what works for you two
Still likes for you to be in control mostly, with rare soft dom moments
Will try almost anything once!!
Loves praise. Too insecure for degradation and absolutely can’t degrade you either
Loves to eat pussy sooooo much… You have a bad day? He’s on his knees in the shower with one of you thighs on his shoulder. Its your birthday? He got you like 9 presents but the finale is cumming on his tongue 4 times
He fucking growls sometimes when he’s overstimulated and its the greatest thing to grace your ears
Says “I love you” like a chant when he’s cumming in you
Wants to see your face the whole time
Ironically he is great at making eye contact in the bedroom
He has the sexiest thighs in the world

Starry, Starry night
This new picture for the upcoming episode has been released, let's talk about it. Please remember, I live in delusion.
Tumblr media
There are several posters on the wall, and the one next to Cheng Xiaoshi - 星空,refers to the film with the same title. Starry, Starry night is a 2011 Taiwanese drama based on a novel by Taiwanese author Jimmy Liao.
Hsieh Xin-Mei used to live with her grandparents up in the mountains. Then she moves to the city to live with her parents, but her family situation is not very good, and she tries to hide from reality in the world of her own imagination. One day, a new student was transferred to her school - a boy named Zhou Yu-Jie.
Despite the misunderstanding at the beginning, both of them are lonely and feel like outsiders in their own lives, befriending one another. When reality catches up, they try to escape to a world that belongs only to them, to see the stars. Do I have to tell you that this story is about grief and sorrows, "the end of summer", journey to adulthood, love across time and distance? About an accidental meeting and fate.
I think it's worth your time to watch, this film is very heartwarming.
Tumblr media
You can read the full plot description on Wikipedia, although it will not convey the full meaning, since the film has many artistic images and interesting decisions that convey the story sensitively. If you want to watch it yourself, read no further.
Spoilers … And References. And some beautiful moments that make me THINK.
1. Time
One of the themes is time, the hands of the clock often tick in the background, and at some point the numbers themselves, which indicate train departures, not just stop - freeze.
18:42 - 18:50 - 18:55
Tumblr media
Do I believe in coincidences? No.
 2. Journey
Their path - an escape to their dream world - passes through a tropical wild forest. On their journey, they try, despite the difficulties, to find the right path to their dream.
Tumblr media
Since s2e1, I've been thinking about how much the forest in the back of that vision, ED/OP, is a real forest, a real tunnel, not the symbolism of the "journey". But now, if such a choice is not accidental, I have received answers to my questions, at some point.
Tumblr media
In fact, I lost my mind at the moment when they came to a fork in the road, they had to choose their path - they took the wrong path, and were forced to face the same choice, choosing a path, for the second time. Again.
Tumblr media
But in the end, the path to the stars ends in a life-threatening situation where they have no choice but "return". Although they both know that this is the end for them, the end of their journey, and the end of their "summer".
Tumblr media
3. Puzzles
This story is about art, not about photography, but about paintings and puzzles. Puzzles literally act as moments of remembrance. Although these are not burning photographs, deep in her sleep, Hsieh Xin-Mei follows the image of Zhou Yu-Jie in the night forest, and the entire world also collapses when the end comes.
When Hsieh Xin-Mei woke up from her dream, Zhou Yu-Jie was no longer here.
Tumblr media
The search for the missing part - the sun, on the puzzle based on the painting "Starry, Starry Night" - is fundamental, literally the core to the plot.
Tumblr media
The connection of everything, through the years. It's like a promise, it's like an eternal memory of that time.
Tumblr media
There are more things I could write about, but I don't want to make this post too long… Just. There is always something about stories with a sunshine-like person, curious, breaking boundaries, talking non-stop, and about a person who quietly looks at the first one, listening to everything with a smile. And it becomes life-changing. I would like to remind you that these are just my thoughts, I'm having fun, maybe seeing something that isn't there. We will see anyway.
But. For real. Put a detail like that into an episode and expect me to ignore it? No. Huh.
I'm just overthinking once again, but Interesting choice :)

By the way, these days that (thanks to hbomberguy's new video) many people are talking about plagiarism and stealing material without sources or obfuscating the sources, I'd like to point out how blatantly that happens here on Tumblr with images.
I follow various tags related to the contents of this blog, mostly the names of places in our country, and you wouldn't believe how many posts I get on my dash with "because you follow #[name of place]" and it's a photo of some completely different place, with no link to source nor name of the photographer, misattributed to a different location, even to a completely different country, or very often that is simply using that tag for ~aesthetics~. And I've also seen it the other way around, photos of our country and it says it's Italy, and the same happening with other pairs of countries. These posts also tend to come from the same few blogs: blogs completely dedicated to stealing photographers' and/or other artists' work, where post after post it's all they never say where they got them from. And, like in the case of some tags, it seems to me that often they're using these place names just to add on to the "exotic factor".
In the last months, I've also seen this happen increasingly more with AI-generated images. By not including the source and saying it's X place, they pretend it's not an AI but a photo. Some of them are very realistic (until you zoom in into the details) but some of them it seems to me like they shouldn't be believed, for example this one I got on my dash because I follow #Mallorca:
Tumblr media
First of all, that's obvious AI (look at the flowerpots, the supposed hieroglyphics, and there is another bathtub in the next room, so this person has 2 bathrooms but neither of them has a door?). I had seen this same image as part of an image set being shared some time ago titled something like "Ancient Egypt-inspired interior design", which makes much more sense and was in fact the prompt for the AI to create it. This AI created a bathroom (bath-courtyard?) inspired by the aesthetic of Ancient Egypt, but somewhere down the chain of people sharing the images someone decided to say this is in Mallorca, for some unknown reason.
The thing is, this aesthetic has nothing to do with Mallorca. Mallorcan architecture doesn't look anything like this, but many people are reblogging it and still tagging it #mallorca, which I assume means they believe this is a real place in Mallorca or at least has something to do with Mallorca.
Most people around the world won't know what Mallorca looks like, what its architecture looks like, they probably don't even know what language is spoken there or maybe even where it is on a map. And that's normal, because we can't know about every far-away place in the world! I don't mean to shame anyone who fell for this. But if they don't know anything about it, from now on, will this Ancient Egyptian style be what they associate with Mallorca? Is this the kind of image that they will associate with the island?
I don't have any point to make with this post, I only wanted to share this situation as a reminder not to believe everything you see on the internet, and especially when they're not telling you where it came from.

As it is right now, machine learning image generation is classist. It depends strongly on the human audience's eye for pareidolia to smooth over its inconsistencies and find patterns in its noise where its procedural generation falls short.
This means that the less opportunity a person has to gain context for information, the more likely 'AI art' is to be convincing. As long as that person has been given a baseline to 'believe' the general arrangement of elements, AI art will 'make sense' even if that baseline is just exposure to more acontextual imagery. Which is what the machine learning's algorithms were trained on in the first place.
For example, 'AI' right now struggles to coherently depict plants. When it's not blurry, indistinct plant fur, leaves from different kinds of plants appear on the same stem, plants from the wrong biome are included in 'nature' images. Someone who has very little educational opportunity, but has seen movies where people walk through jungles or forests as set pieces or something, might not notice the difference. And why do you 'need' to know if the plants look right, poor person; you'll never leave your immediate area or take a biology class!
Someone without the opportunity or comfort to travel might not recognize that a cityscape has been artificially generated, depicts no actual real-world city. Is that supposed picture of Dubai or New York City or Cairo showing a real place that exists? Who cares, you're too poor to ever go there.
Searching for information about animal species, even, can get messed up by generated 'content.' Do servals have ear tufts? What kind of insect is that? What species of lizard or snake am I looking at? You don't deserve to know what kinds of animals are real. What time do you have to go to a zoo, if there's even one around you?
The less money you have, the more likely you are to be surrounded by advertising and "AI Art" is ideal for advertising because it only tells a very simple story at best. There's no complicated human emotions; its literally made of averages of what has been seen before. Marketing and advertising content often replaces actual art that might be a window into a greater world. It may even just be dropped in there to fill the awkward silence or blankness that would have otherwise surrounded marketing efforts-- commercials would be surreal without some say-nothing 'music' track behind them, and billboards would be creepy without the graphic noise that surrounds the product and its information. Someone who passes through more monetized public spaces per day will see more of it than someone who inhabits private property.
And like, at the end of the day if you are wealthy... you probably don't care about any of this. You have access to whatever you want, so why do you care what's real? You trust you can 'pay for' the real thing, right?
Plus, who knows the economic status of who generated imagery the machine learning algorithms train on? It's all stolen.
Photography has been critical in modern history for bringing 'the world' across social divisions of class, race, geographical divides. Photographers and filmmakers, along with other visual artists as well as musicians, writers, and journalists associated with all of these disciplines give us lenses, framing, voices, and perspectives to understand our greater world no matter where we are. Hell, identifying the human intentions BEHIND those lenses, framings, voices is key to our development. No matter your circumstances, with a strong grasp of media literacy anyone can sit down and say, wait a minute, is this real, would it be true for me too? Or is this someone's point of view?
To the point of view of wealth and capital, the working class and those without wealth who cannot work (disabled people, displaced people, homeless people shut out of employment, and more) do not deserve to know about reality. To that point of view, nonwealthy people don't deserve to even know who created the perspectives they're allowed to see. You can be born, get trained to work, go to work, come home to the minimum, repeat, and die having seen no images of reality for all they care. They'd like that! How can you dream of something outside the current exploitative structure if you can't even trust you know what plants and animals and cities look like, outside your tiny box?

Hi... I'm like really evil so... I apologize in advance
orchid ⇢ what’s a song you consider to be perfect?
cactus ⇢ something you’re currently learning (about)?
bamboo ⇢ do you change into a different outfit when you get home?

mahonia ⇢ what place, thing, activity inspires you most and how do you express yourself when it does?
chia ⇢ what’s an inside joke you have with someone else?
sage ⇢ what ‘medium’ of art (poetry, music, fiction, paintings, statues etc.) is the most touching to you? why do you think that is?
edelweiss ⇢ how’d you think of your url/username? what’s it associated with to you?
camellia ⇢ what were you like when you were younger? do you think you’ve changed a lot?
jasmine ⇢ do you have a movie or book you loved but will never watch/read again?
ivy ⇢ what are your ‘tells’ for your emotions and moods? how can someone tell you’re happy, annoyed, upset or tired?
chamomile ⇢ what kind of things do you like receiving as gifts?
aloe vera ⇢ what’s something (mundane) you really want to experience in life?
palm tree ⇢ do you have a fictional villain you shouldn’t like but love regardless?
nutmeg ⇢ how’s your room/home decorated? do you have a specific theme or style going on?
papyrus ⇢ if you put your ‘on repeat’ playlist on shuffle, what’s the first song that comes up? what do you like about it / associate it with?
taro ⇢ if someone called you right now to catch up, what’re the things you’d tell them about?
LMAO love that you decided to ask me this as soon as I reblogged it. so very kind of you lol
orchid ⇢ Hozier's Unknown/Nth. He had no right writing the most soul-crushing lyrics to ever exist in this life and then just SHALALA his way into my heart. like.. "DO YOU KNOW I COULD BREAK BENEATH THE WEIGHT OF THE GOODNESS, LOVE, I STILL CARRY FOR YOU???" WHAT WAS THAT?? how do you even begin to EXIST after hearing that??
cactus ⇢ the way that feminist theory has impacted other realms of life--and also the way literature has tied into different cultural movements. I've also been researching the various circles of Dante's Inferno (just for the giggles, ya know :P)
bamboo ⇢ sometimes. it depends. sometimes i get home and all i want to do is just collapse on my bed and not have to deal with anything else, but others I want to feel like a pretentious character from some novel so I'll keep my "fancy" clothes on lol
abelia ⇢ i have this one ring that I wear a lot--my grandma gave it to me. I also have a few pairs of earrings that I treasure a lot.
daffodil ⇢nope :) only child over here
mahonia ⇢ I love the mountains and the ocean--I think they both inspire me to be more than my usual self in various ways: to be kinder, to be more poetic, to see beauty in a wider variety of things and people.
chia ⇢ oh gosh, so many. does challenging my friends to duels count?? lol
sage ⇢ I really cannot decide on this one. I think the beauty of enjoying and being inspired by a variety of artistic mediums is that they each bring something unique into your world view: poetry can bring a sense of rhythm and orderliness or, in other cases, chaos. Music I see as another way of enjoying poetry--what else are lyrics, after all? Fiction is somewhere I can get lost and experience things I've never gotten the chance to see or meet people I'll never meet. Paintings, like photographs, capture a singular moment, but also infuse their meaning with a more personal flavor from the artist's own life. Statues are this concrete, physical expression of being that capture movement and emotion and strength and weakness and just the general essence of existence in a very solid, real way. plzzzz don't make me choose :)
edelweiss ⇢ the secret history. idk what else to add lol
camellia ⇢ I think i conformed a lot more to other's expectations (I know...such a cliche thing to say.. :(( lol). In other respects, I don't think i've changed all that much. I still love art and reading and running through fields and dancing in the rain and curling up with a story next to my dog just as much as I used to :)
jasmine ⇢ This is really tough. I definitely feel that way about some books that just destroyed me emotionally--same goes for films--but I also feel like, given enough time, I'd want to return to them to get a fresh perspective. Idk, I've definitely thought about this a lot, but a lot of types of media store cherished memories for me, so in returning to the media, I'm also reopening that treasure trove of my own life.
ivy ⇢ I smile a lot for no reason when I'm happy. I'm much more sarcastic when I'm down. I also tend to hold my hand up to my face when I'm anxious or annoyed. I feel like this is so much easier to determine about someone else, not yourself :)
chamomile ⇢ BOOKS. chocolate. hugs. cozy sweaters. tea. handmade gifts that are more a demonstration of love that anything else.
aloe vera ⇢ (i am aware this makes me sound a lot more lonely than i actually am lol) I would love to experience the feeling of sitting next to someone I love--platonic or romantic--and just sensing this absolute tranquility. I am always so happy every time I experience that and I'd love to have that feeling more present in my life.
palm tree ⇢ not really?? idk, i mean does Dorian Gray count??
nutmeg ⇢ the walls of my room are a green color that I chose when i was ten, which kinda sets the automatic aesthetic to cottagecore. Lots of plants, poetry and drawings and paintining and quotes pinned on the walls, books everywhere, a quilt i made as my bedcover, my dog (sometimes lol)
papyrus ⇢ just went and did this for the sake of experimentation. the song that came up was "king" by florence and the machine. I love all of florence's songs, but i love "king" for so many reasons. The guttural vocals really bring something out in the lyrics (which are incredible on their own). Also the production of the music video (directed by one of my favorite people of all time, Autumn de Wilde--same person who directed Emma 2020) just makes the aesthetic of the music so much more....GRAND
taro ⇢ I'd tell them about all the beautiful things I saw today, about all the interactions I had. about how much i love being alive, and how much I am looking forward to spending more time getting to know people and reading new books and falling in love with the way the world continues despite it all.
thank you for sending this ask, @kaleb-is-definitely-sane

A Work Proposal (Part 5)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Jeongin x reader Word Count: 2.4k Genre: Smut Warnings: 18+, minors dni, pubic sex, swearing, unprotected sex (don't be stupid), creampie, oral sex (m receiving), dirty talk (nothing too hardcore)
You had been working with Stray Kids for a while now and after a long day at work turns into a very unexpected but intriguing proposal. Will this change your world or end your career?
Photo shoots for brands were always the easiest, followed by solo magazine shoots, group brand shoots and lastly official Stray Kids photo shoots in that order, the boys were most likely to tease each other and play around when they were all together. You knew this and everyone on their team did and it wasn't that they were unprofessional, nothing could be further from the truth, but they did genuinely act like a family and would just make fun out of the funniest or smallest thing.
Today, however, was not going to be like that at all. Jeongin had his first solo cover shoot and you were off to the location with him, Chan had told you he was nervous and had the others had too many other things on their schedules to attend with him. You were thrilled to go after all who wouldn't like to sit around an look at beautiful things all day, Jeongin being one of those beautiful things, and you were also glad he was finally getting some of the recognition he deserved. So you were sitting beside him in the van on your way there chatting about anything and nothing to fill the time. Jeongin was curious to you he could be so quiet and sweet that you were sure he was the perfect boy next door but other times he would tell the filthiest jokes or make comments that even made Minho blush, you were never sure where you sat with him.
"So is there anything that is off limits with the agreement?" He whispered making sure that the driver couldn't hear his question.
"Not during work" you mumbled back carefully "No hitting, spitting or hurting me"
"None of those things would happen, I would never do any of that" He replied instantly "but what about outside? or in the van?" he smirked.
"If it is after you have finished that should be fine" you mused softly thinking about how he would manage that without being seen by any other staff member. Jeongin just grinned widely which you belatedly realized he probably already had something planned.
"Here we are" the driver called pulling into a standard looking office building garage.
"Thank you" you smiled politely collecting your bag as you stepped out of the van before Jeongin. Thankfully there were no press photographers around today so you had far less to worry about than when they were all together. Walking into the magazines office Jeongin was greeted and led to his private artist room which was away from the hair and make up room, meaning that you would no doubt be working alone in his area for most of your day which was a relief. Often you found the hair and make up team, while usually very friendly, wanted to try to pump you for information about the kids, which you hated. Sometimes they were too interested making you uncomfortable for the guys and occasionally you wondered if they were sasaengs who managed to finally get close enough so keeping Jeongin away from overly friendly strangers made you feel better about it all.
"So, since the photographer isn't here yet and the stylist isn't ready how should we fill our time" Jeongin teased smirking at you as he made his way over to the door which he locked slowly.
"Jeongin" you warned playfully, you knew that the area was empty and that technically he hadn't started his schedule for the day yet.
"What? you said not in work hours and was are not is work hours are we angel?" he was almost prowling towards you as you watched the smile on his face get bigger as he knew he was right.
"I hate it when you boys are right I never hear the end of it" you muttered not really minding as long as you didn't get caught. After the last time there had to be a few NDA agreements signed and reassignments from one team to another, all at Chan's behest.
"So....can we have a little bit of time to play then" he grinned wickedly pulling you against him and claiming your lips. You had assumed Jeongin would be the softest one of the boys being the sweet little baby but the way he groped your arse and nibbled your bottom lip made you realize otherwise. You allowed him to guide you behind the screened off area where he would be changing his outfits, all the way to the back wall where he lent against the wall continuing his assault on your lips. You allowed him access to your mouth after the second swipe of his tongue against the seam of your lips which he feverishly took advantage of sliding it against your own as he groaned softly pushing himself completely against you. Your fingers wound themselves into his soft clean hair tugging lightly at the locks at the back of his head making him softly grind his hardening length against your hip making you gasp.
"Angel would you mind sucking me off? We don't have time for anything else yet" He panted softly against your lips making you smirk at him.
"I can definitely do that" you whispered seductively as he stepped back from you undoing his jeans and letting them fall around his ankles. You moved him so he was against the wall dropping to your knees teasingly slowly licking you lips at the outline of his still covered cock in his boxers.
"You look so pretty like that angel" he almost moaned as you carefully lowered his boxer and took him in your hand pumping him a few times to tease him before opening your mouth and looking up at him through your lashes. He groaned loudly as you took him into your mouth and sucked his tip before taking the rest of him until he was almost in your throat.
"Fuck" he whimpered as you lazily bobbed up and down his length tongue swirling around his tip every time you almost completely pulled of his cock "You are so fucking good" he continued whimpering as he clenched his hands beside him.
"You can touch me Jeongin" you purred pulling your mouth away from him for a moment only to take him further down your throat with the next pass of your mouth.
"Thank you" he groaned one hand cupping your face the other sliding into your hair holding you tightly enough to feel his strength but not hard enough for you to feel like he was directing you. You braced one hand on his thigh using the other to cup his balls rolling them in your palm and squeezing or tugging softly when you felt he needed more. After a few minutes you could feel him losing himself in your throat, his hips moving ever so slightly to meet you and his grip getting slightly tighter.
"I want to fuck your throat angel please" he begged his voice slightly slurred by his pleasure you hummed to let him know it was alright with you as he gently increased his pace still cupping your face as he began fucking your throat.
"Oh shit, shit I'm gonna cum down your throat angel would you like that?" he moaned his volume increasing with each movement of your head. You hummed around him again as his head fell back against the wall thrusting a few more times before he emptied himself in your throat and mouth. Jeongin pulled you up to your feet roughly kissing you fiercely as you came down from his high.
"You are fucking perfect angel" he whispered breathing hard as he regained his composure and you left him to get himself redressed and ready for the impending photo shoot.
Almost ten minutes later there was a knocking on the dressing room door which you answered dutifully making it look as though Jeongin was getting ready.
"We are ready to start hair and make up if you are" the assistance smiled widely as you nodded waiting for Jeongin to make his way out.
"Of course lets do this" He chirped happily following her from the room to leave you to work in peace unless he needed you.
Another 45 minutes passed and you got a one word text for him just saying help, concerned you made your way to the hair and make up team where you also found the stylist and two assistants crowded around either just staring or very obviously trying to flirt.
"Mr Yang" you smiled politely weaving your way between them to his side "I was wondering if you would be happy to go over the schedule for the rest of the day and this evening so I can make sure it matches up with Mr Bang's assistant?" you used your professional tone that left no room for any one to argue with you.
"Of course, it's less stress for Chan that way" he grinned looking up at you from the hair stylists chair.
"Would you all excuse us?" you asked politely which Jeongin knew was the fake business tone you used to make people obey you. The other four girls scattered leaving only the hairstylist to finish the already incredibly basic style he was having for the shoot, which you were sure she was dragging out so she got to flirt with him.
"What time do we leave here?" he asked innocently looking at you in the mirror.
"Well we need to be at the video shoot at 7:00 so not later the 6:00 to give you time to get there on schedule then the shoot should take four hours before you will be taken back again" you listed scrolling your screen to make it look like you weren't making stuff up to get rid of the hair stylist. A few more questions from Jeongin and she had left you alone leaving him breathing a sigh and you glaring daggers at the doorway she had just left through.
"Would you sit in on the shoot so we can keep it as short and professional as possible?" he whispered to ensure no one could be eavesdropping"
"Of course" you mouthed back as he stood as quickly looking around to see if anyone was around before dropping a soft sensual kiss to you lips before laughing at your flustered look.
"The photographer should be ready by now" he smiled making his way out of the room which you quickly followed.
The shoot was far faster than when there were several members or all of the members which made you more relieved since it would be less taxing for you to protect him from the giggling staff members. After a few hours you were back in the parking garage waiting for your driver to pick you up to get lunch.
"Since we have some more time to kill" he smirked grabbing your wrist and pulling you out of the garage into the alley way beside it kissing you deeply one hand pulling your hips against him as he pressed you into the brick wall behind you. His kisses were needy and hot like he was a man desperate for you and you could find the will to tell him no as his tongue danced with yours and his hands began to wander your body squeezing and kneading at your soft flesh.
Letting his lips move from yours he started kissing his way along your jaw and neck rolling his hips subtly against you you could feel his hard on as you gasped when he reached the sensitive spot below your ear. His hand slipped to your pants carefully undoing them and sliding his hand inside before you could even figure out what he was doing.
"Fuck, have you been this wet the whole time?" he groaned softly into your ear his hot breath fanning against your neck
"Jeongin, we can'y not here it's the middle of the day" you gasped his fingers lightly circling your clit sending shocks of pleasure through you.
"Yes we can angel I'll be quick so no one sees me filling this wet little cunt" he growled against your ear again pulling himself away from you he pushed you pants and underwear down your legs and freed himself from his jeans before spinning you so your face was pushed against the cool bricks, you could feel yourself getting even more turned on as he slid one hand down yous back to give your arse a quick slap "Tell me to stop or tell me to fuck you angel"
"Please fuck me Jeongin" you groaned feeling himself guide his cock to your entrance and sheath himself entirely inside you.
"Shit, so tight angel" he moaned loudly pounding into you without giving you time to adjust making you mewl as you tried to keep up with his rough pace.
"Hope someone comes out here and sees you clenching around my dick, bet you would love that angel" he groaned and he picked up his pace again making you keen loudly. "That's it angel let everyone know how much you love me owning this cunt"
You had never experienced anyone talking dirty to you but every filthy word that fell from his lips made you impossibly more aroused the sound of his cock thrusting into you got wetter and wetter as he got closer to his release. The sound of your driver arriving on the other side of the wall you were being fucked against and potentially hearing you made Jeongin speed up even more he was snapping his hips against you so hard you were beginning to ache but somehow that made you feel twice as much pleasure.
"You like that do you? the driver hearing you get filled up with cum? hearing you get fucked like a whore?" Jeongin snarled into yous ear latching his mouth onto your clothed shoulder to muffle his moans as his thrusts began to stutter.
"Jeongin" you moaned biting your own hand to keep yourself quiet as you walls clamped around him.
"Fuck" he almost yelled into your shoulder biting down as his cock swelled inside of you before he filled you with his seed "Fuck" he panted pulling himself from you still quivering pussy. You could feel his cum start to drip from your entrance and instantly pulled your underwear up to prevent making a mess of your pants.
"Shall we go back to the company now" you gasped while still trying to catch your breath.
"Lets go back to yours so you can get cleaned up first then we can get lunch on the way" Jeongin grinned helping dust off your clothes.
"Good plan" you smiled pecking his cheek lightly as he led you back into the garage.

Right now I'm kinda sick which means I have no brainpower to talk about this properly or at least how I want to.
Subject at hand: Mako, Chuck and Raleigh all had an specific item in the movie that kinda explains or contains them as characters.
Mako and her relationship with swords is the obvious example. If you'll permit me to call it her motif, then let that be it. For the sake of storytelling, Mako is given an object that is the summary of her struggles and dreams, of her traumas and her hope. Swords are part of her heritage, given that his dad dedicated his life to making them. An item capable of both great damage and impossible beauty, the movie even adapts it to be more like the girl itself: chainswords that stay hidden and silently away for their turn to strike, capable of flexibility and quick adaptation, they are almost unbreakable, used to support others in need, cut straight through the heart of the enemy and provide a sure win even under great underwater pressure or up in the sky.
Mako is the girl welding the sword and she's the one crafting the sword from scratch designing it and she's the sword itself, okay?
Mako's a weapon in the context of she being a soldier. She's deadly, trained to kill, efficient with a perfect score in combat simulations, one of the brightest in the Jaeger Program. But she is also a craft in the sense of being someone intricate, because her story is way more complex than people imagine. She is beautiful as a woman, delicate in her ways of treating others, elegant in her movements...
In this case, the objectification serves a more artistic purpose. Whenever you think of the chainsword, you think of Mako and the other way around. Her scene killing Otachi in the name of her family is her breakthrough in the movie, where she achieves her dream/goal, when all she has gone through pays off. Then the scene where she uses the chainsword to oin Slattern to G. Danger is the culmination of her arc to say so: now she will kill the Kaiju that killed her adoptive father and will finally put an end of the apocalypse.
Without having to make it explicit in the film, you know that Mako gave those chainswords to G. Danger during the restoration program hoping that it'd be somehow her jaeger, that she'd finally become a ranger piloting it, etc.
Now, I said something similar can be found looking at the depiction of both Chuck and Raleigh in the movie. That's because, to me at least, the narrative does something similar in Chuck-Max and Raleigh-his photographs.
Raleigh is our narrator, our protagonist, we see the world through his eyes. I guess the thesis hear is that Raleigh is the man behind the camera, guiding our perception of this fictional world. Photographs can be intimate, int he way they reveal the interest of the one taking them. In sharing with us the concept of Raleigh having photography as his hobby, the story reveals us a man oriented to details and sensitive to the art of framing an instant, telling a story in one snap.
It also tells just how sentimental he is, how much he loved his home, his brother, 'cause he was surviving with rations at the end of the world but wherever he traveled, he took his pictures with him, put them on the walls of his residency. He's then a man who likes to take a look at the past. He said it himself: he spent 5 years on the past, never thinking of how the future would be. Nostalgic or even melancholic, but ultimately willing to make new good and bad memories and capture them for posterity. Loyal, down to earth in the sense that he knows where he came and what made him the way he is, sensible and patient, likes walking around cities or touring maybe, which is interesting really. For all the cocky American dream of a man the movie suggests he was, he didn't have posters of action movies or pics of him in fights or any of that. He had pics of architecture, nice tiny shots that suggest calmness, a steady hand and a more passive spirit. It really matches Mako Mori in that sense.
I could dive more into the subjects of how his photographs characterize Raleigh Becket, but I'm not lying when I say I'm feeling sick and my brain is kinda foggy.
I'll close this post talking about Chuck and his relationship with Max instead.
One of the first things I noticed on my last rewatch is just how many times Chuck and Max are practically switching roles in the film
As in Chuck gets treated like a dog and Max gets treated like a son. As in they are one and the same sometimes, given that Max is the vehicle of Chuck's repressed emotions, since he refuses to let them out openly. As in Max is the representation of the intricate rituals the Hansens use to communicate the things they cannot say but want to.
I'll try explain it quickly using two scenes from the movie, okay?
First one: when Pentecost and Mako were showing Raleigh the jaeger bay on the Hong Kong Shatterdome and the Hansens arrived just in time to greet the newcomer, Herc tells someone to stay but he is not talking to Max.
His clipped tone given as a short command surprised me because it sounded like the one you'd give your dog when you see someone or some other dog approaching. Now, if you know your dog is a troublemaker and if you have trained, you could give the command to tell him to stay away from the trouble.
But Max runs freely to Mako and Herc only jokes about how Max is always slobbering over pretty girls, a comment you'd expect from a dad about his teenage son. He doesn't tell Max to stop. He doesn't even look at the dog as he's talking with Raleigh.
The one who stayed behind, grounded, was Chuck. This alone tells us so much about the Hansens and their stiff relationship. Chuck is the dog who might bite, the one you need to pull the leash to avoid him attacking. Herc is not a perfect man but here it's obvious he did fuck up as a dad. He gives orders like he's a commander and Chuck a subordinate. Stay.
(I can't remember exactly the dialogue, so you might forgive any discrepancy. What I know is that Herc told Chuck to stay behind while he greeted Raleigh, meaning that Herc knew Chuck might cause a scene. What did he know about Chuck and Raleigh and why did he tell Chuck to stay behind?).
The second scene: on the farewell moment before Operation Pitfall, Chuck kneels to pet Max one last time and tells him to take care of Herc (or was it the other way around?).
I choose this moment to defend my point because here? Here Chuck is assigning Max as his replacement. Not in the mean way, of course, but he acknowledges that his dad might lose his only son and trying to soften the blow, he gives Herc one last mission: to take care of Max and also let Max take care of him. Max is an extension of Chuck, so it's a way of saying that their bond stays there and they will ALWAYS take care of each other, it doesn't matter if Chuck dies during Pitfall.
It's also telling that Chuck kneeling to pet Max is a metaphor for Chuck asking Herc for forgiveness. All his intentions go to Max in that sense. Now Chuck has become Max and Max will always be Chuck. Now, man and dog are one, because the dog has taken Chuck's place as Herc's son and Chuck is the dog that gets send to die at the bottom of the ocean, some fucked up version of Laika up in space.
That's why we see almost every pilot eating at least once in the movie, but not Chuck. He was feeding Max and once it was over, they both walked away like the food was not on Max's belly but Chuck's. That's why Max and Chuck almost never interact with someone at the same time.
Chuck is the kid who got instructed but not raised by his dad. He's the war dog with an impressive killing count that doesn't get to brag because he barks too much and he's not nice to strangers. He is, to any means, just an scared animal behaving like he was taught to. He is confused and jealous when Herc gives his attention (and affection in Chuck's eyes) to someone else. Chuck is desperate to be told he's a good boy, he's enough, he's loved and appreciated. He lashes out when he feels threatened or cornered and he gives puppy eyes meaning "sorry" when he knows he has fucked up, etc etc etc.
An if it feels abhorrent to reduce Chuck to the role of a dog, it speaks volumes about the way he got treated in the movie. In the end, the only thing he really wins during the movie is to be called his father's son. You can argue "but Shan, doesn't he also wins the respect of most characters?" and I'd tell you that it's a sad sad thing that the only way you can get others to acknowledge you as a good man is by exploding yourself at the bottom of the ocean.
I'm not talking about Mako or Raleigh here, because through Max, we know that Mako and Chuck could be friends but in the movie all we get is a tense relationship summarized in maybe one exchange of words (that got Chuck beaten up by the way). And when it comes to Raleigh, all the resolution we got was a silent apology and the equally silent acceptance of such after the Double Event, if we don't count that Chuck was on Raleigh's left side during Stacker's motivational speech
But you know those metaphors of pets being like children? From that angle, Pentecost and Herc are always treating Chuck as an spoiled brat. Which he is, but c'mon. It's not like Herc can talk much being that he failed Chuck big time and it's not like Pentecost wasn't there to witness how the youngest ranger ever to be graduated survived 5 years of actual hell and achieved the best killing count. You don't get there for being a kid. You don't go so far without maturing hard and fast. Chuck is not some annoying puppy picking fights because he's bored. He let's Max sleep and eat and okay to his liking because that's the side that Chuck himself can't be: carefree, soft, selfish in the sense of being self-indulgent.
Mako had to shape herself into a sword to avenge her family and make justice and even survive in a world that tried to kill her when she was still just s little child. Raleigh had to freeze his memories in photographs because he's by now used to tragedy and not having enough time, things ending fast, his happy days going away, losing his home and family. Chuck gave his dog the comfortable life he wishes he could have, he devoted himself to the task of giving Max all that he felt Herc failed to give him, and finally gave Max his place as Herc's son.
Which yeah, pretty much is what I tried to say in many clumsy words ejdjdkjfkfkdn:
Mako, Chuck and Raleigh all had an specific item in the movie that explains or contains them as characters.

Based off conversations I’ve had in the server about the wizarding world and my thoughts/speculations as well as some headcanons regarding it.
Tl;dr overthinking world-building details
First of all: the living paintings. I have sooo many questions, like are there magical brushes that need to be used or do you simply enchant them with magic? What is the limit to this? If I doodle a stick man on a page and I enchant it does that mean it comes to life somehow? Also, there’s a lot of darker potential when it comes to this. Is there a black market dedicated to selling certain paintings? What about someone who will paint your deceased loved one for grieving purposes? Has someone ever fallen in love with a painting like we do AI? Are they fully sentient or are they similarly limited as an AI? And this isn’t even getting into photographs taken with a camera.
Speaking of black markets, while of course you have knockturn alley and your borgin and burkes, the real itching question in my mind isn’t on cursed or strange magical objects. It’s on drugs. Or specifically potions. Considering that basically mind-controlling love potions aren’t illegal, what sort of potions actually are? Or - I’ll do you even better - is there a muggle trade for the usual stuff (like say coke) which is made easier with owl post? Is there any sort of policing on non-Hogwarts owls? There must be a ministry force that cracks down on illicit trade with owls. Do they monitor the air for broom flyers as well? There must be some fine you have to pay if you reveal yourself on a broom to random muggles.
Yes we have the ‘are you a witch or not?’ Scene, but I also think for a lot of people who use magic, it would be interesting if they forget they can’t function without it. Someone who has been using magic their entire lives to do house chores suddenly not knowing what they’re doing if their wand snaps. Not even out of ignorance but just because it’s never how they’ve done things, like it’s their natural inclination towards magic. Since there seems to be a bit of anti-muggle bias in the books, I think it would be interesting to see how wizards struggle in comparison.
Also, while this is really more of a book thing, it seems that wizards don’t really know how to ‘dress like muggles.’ In the movies, Ron dresses exactly the same as Harry and Hermoine, but if we were following the books I wonder if he would dress very differently. Of course most of the time they would be wearing the uniform, but if you lined up a bunch of different kids from both pureblood and muggle backgrounds, I imagine they would have quite differing tastes in fashion.
Speaking of fashion. Are there wizarding fashion magazines? Specific trends exclusive only to wizards really? Like, obviously nothing is stopping a non-magical muggle from wearing a pointy hat, but given the history of it I would imagine all sorts of different styles of robes and hats emerged over the years. Even if it was simply minute details, we know from our own fashion history that it isn’t uncommon for wild trends to pop up. Maybe a craze for feathers or flowers or encrusted gemstones, or certain materials and fabrics that became popular.
We really don’t get a lot of information on clubs at Hogwarts from what I can see. Of course we have duelling club and quidditch and such, and I can imagine behind the scenes there must be wizard chess and gobstones clubs. What about music and drama clubs? Are there instruments only exclusive to the wizarding world? Can you enchant musical instruments to play themselves? Are there plays that are only known to the wizarding community or do they also do Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet sort of affairs? I imagine that certain Purebloods would look down on muggle playwrights, or really any sort of muggle artist in general. But still, you can’t tell me that the Malfoys or some other prestigious wizarding family don’t make visits to some magical opera house.
Also. Is quidditch the only big wizarding sport? We had duelling before yes, and again gobstones etc., but what about more physical sports? Aside from the more strenuous spells and flying (which tbh doesn’t seem that physically taxing anyway if you’re just going slow on a Cleansweep) I can’t help but wonder if many wizards are horribly unfit. I mean, given that they tend to live much longer on average compared to non-magical muggles, is it just the magic or is it also special wizarding yoga or pilates or something lol.
Quidditch itself is also an extremely dangerous pastime/sport I mean holy shit. While they do seem to have charms for cushioning, you’re often many, many feet up off the ground and if you fall off without one you could literally go splat and die. Just break your neck, snap and you’re dead.
We hear about certain bands that seem exclusive (or at least known) to the wizarding world e.g The Weird Sisters. There’s also Celestina Warbeck. Since the British wizarding community seems quite small compared to the wider population, it’s possible that there aren’t as many music groups around in it. There still seems to be radio frequencies though, in regards to the aforementioned Celestina scene and the rebel broadcast in Deathly Hallows.
Could there ever be an overlap? Like wizards who decided to break into the muggle musical industry and who are also enjoyed by the wizarding community? On the topic as well, since Arthur Weasley had his obsession with muggle technology, there must be others who are similar to him right? you can’t tell me there isn’t a wizard Ariel or something who tried to leave and integrate with muggle society. Not even a squib, but a wizard who just rejects it all. That’s a story that needs to be told.
All this just begs the question of how advanced is the technology in the wizarding world? Since apparently the modern stuff doesn’t do well in Hogwarts, where is the cutoff point? Maybe you can’t bring your gameboy into school, but what about a record player and vinyls? You just know muggle students in the past have tried to sneak all kinds of weird shit into Hogwarts with them.
Since we know that there are stories and tales exclusive to the wizarding community (Ron’s childhood stories in Deathly Hallows and Tales of Beedle the Bard I believe?) are there also popular wizard fiction authors outside of those who were penning school textbooks or autobiographies i.e good ol’ Gilderoy Lockhart?
I feel like there definitely must be. It makes me wonder how much genres such as sci-fi, (would it be a thing?) horror, romance & erotica etc. would differ in contrast to muggle novels. Especially historical fiction actually, since many of the notable figures may be different.
Getting into darker territory now. For an extremely skilled wizard, I think transfiguring someone in order to kidnap or kill them would be a likely move right? Or at least trying it. I mean if you turn someone into a bug you can squash them, or even into a small animal you can stuff them in a bag or something. Hell, transfigure a person into furniture if you’re feeling really nasty. I know this is fucked up but that’s the point lol.
I also wonder exactly how severe your crime has to be for you to get shut away in Azkaban? Like for petty theft and other minor charges. Of course if you commit a homicide then you get thrown in the slammer, that makes sense, and unfortunately so does Hagrid’s sentence to an extent since the Chamber was pretty dangerous. But do you just get a fine? Are there other holding cells in the ministry you get put in? Somewhere that isn’t Azkaban;;;
Also what about wizard serial killers? Not to be gruesome, but I imagine there are all sorts of options available to magical opportunists. Yes, you have the killing curse, but also you could literally just light someone on fire or leviosa them 50 feet off a tall building. It’s not that hard lol
Also are… Are there collectible cards for them…? I mean tell me there isn’t a true crime community in the wizarding world as well jekfkfktn
To reiterate my point with wizards all using magic for stuff, I wonder if any of them have considered like idk. Using a gun instead? Guns are most certainly not super advanced technology and they can’t be blocked really so… There’s a solution Tom and it’s called a glock
Basically all I’m saying is that there’s a missed opportunity to explore wizard crime bosses.
If any of this is explained in later books or spin-offs, I apologise. I’m only using the original books as reference, and even then it’s been a wee while lol.

Hello, I'm Diana, a 21-year-old artist from Lithuania. I'm currently a third-year student studying classical singing, and my ultimate goal is to become a professional opera soloist. Music has been an integral part of my life since childhood, but photography unexpectedly entered my world and quickly became another powerful means of self-expression.
I've always had a deep desire to convey emotions, thoughts, and feelings that are difficult to put into words. Photography, much like music, allows me to tell stories through unique variations of aura and emotions. When I'm in the process of capturing a moment, I feel a transformation from within. I break away from the version of myself that's so familiar in my daily routine and enter a realm where I can create new realities that are supernatural, powerful, and emotionally complex.
Photography has become a way for me to explore different aspects of my identity. It allows me to shed the societal masks of dirt, illusions, oppression, and shame that I often find myself hiding behind. Through my photographs, I can speak my truth and encapsulate my own emotions as well as those of others. It's a liberating experience that enables me to feel unapologetic, even if society deems those feelings uncomfortable or unconventional.
In my work, I place great importance on showcasing the sheer power, beauty, and mystique of femininity. I'm fascinated by the intriguing heat of grace, the depths of grief, the untamed spirit of freedom, and the constant pressure to conform in today's society. I enjoy bringing together different parts of myself that may seem contradictory and merging them into one through my photography. It's a way for me to release my inner limitations and embrace the shadow dances within the labyrinth of my mind. It's also a form of protest against the fabricated concept of normality.
Through my photography, I strive to play a small yet meaningful role in helping viewers heal from their own traumas, particularly those related to the pressure of conforming to societal expectations. I aim to express and portray the intricate layers of our imagistic souls and auras, while also challenging aesthetic standards and celebrating the beauty of everybody.
With my unique perspective and unwavering dedication, I invite viewers to join me on a visual journey that challenges preconceived notions, celebrates individuality, and embraces the raw authenticity of the human experience.

Welcome to Johnny Cash’s world of whiskey, sin and lyrical doom
Tumblr media
Johnny Cash is a Mount Rushmore figure in American music. He had a voice as deep and ancient as the wellspring from which his folk and country heritage sprang, and a face that might well have been carved from a mountainside. Across seven extraordinary decades as a recording artist, from his debut single Hey Porter (1955) to his 67th and final album American IV: The Man Comes Around (2002), Cash wrestled with love, hate, crime, punishment, forgiveness, redemption, death and salvation. He was the God-loving sinner who could deliver his most famous line, “I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die”, with the same conviction he brought to a gospel spiritual.
“I have a feeling for human nature in difficult situations – don’t know why, but I always have,” Cash told me during an interview in 2003, the year before he died at the age of 71. We spoke via a transatlantic phone call, and I can still recall the thrill of hearing him come on the line with the four words he’d uttered at thousands of concerts: “Hello, I’m Johnny Cash.” That famous gravel voice was instantly recognisable, if a little shaky with age. When I asked him whether, looking back over his long life, he had any regrets, he laughed. “None that I’d really like to publicise. I don’t cry in my beer – or milk, for that matter.”
Cash was then in the midst of a late-career flourish, releasing a series of stripped-back albums produced by Rick Rubin. More than just a coda to a rollercoaster career, the American series framed Cash as an immensely complex figure, embodying and embracing the many contradictions of being human. “Truth is what ties it all together,” he told me of his vast recorded output, almost all of it featuring sparse productions that made no concessions to fads. “I never thought about doing it any other way except the simple, straightforward bare-bones way that felt right in the beginning. It carries my message in the song without a lot of adornment. I try to keep it down to earth – play it as it lays and say it as it is.”
Standing 6’ 2”, and with an incomparable gravitas, Cash was a big man in every sense of the word, and it takes a big book to do him justice. The Life in Lyrics is a proper doorstopper, a large-format hardback of 374 pages that weighs in at 4.5 lbs. Structured partly chronologically and partly thematically, it attempts to tell a life story in songs and pictures, packed with 125 lyrics – from the 600-plus Cash composed – plus hundreds of photographs, handwritten letters and memorabilia from his personal archive.

Cash with his son John Carter Cash in the mid-1970s - White Rabbit
The photos are glorious. In shots from 1969, a year in which Cash saw off the challenge of Elvis Presley, The Beatles and Simon & Garfunkel to be named the biggest-selling recording artist in America, his hands are bony and rough-skinned, testament to a poor childhood spent picking cotton and fights. His face looks whip-thin and dust-blown, brow deeply furrowed, eyes sunken and haunted. Those were his wild, mean days of amphetamines and whiskey. “I always thought somebody was trailing me,” he told me in 2002. It may have been the ghost of his beloved older brother Jack, who died, aged 12, in a horrific chainsaw accident. “I probably never did get over it,” Cash admitted.
But he certainly worked through it. Among the classic songs that Cash composed, and are reproduced here, were the deathless romantic ballad I Walk the Line, the bitter confessional Folsom Prison Blues, the epic Big River, the tragicomic flood narrative Five Feet High and Rising, the careworn lament Don’t Take Your Guns to Town, and the stark protest song All of God’s Children Ain’t Free. At their best, Cash’s lyrics are carefully wrought, with the basic structures and rhyming schemes of folk poetry underpinned by rough-hewn wisdom, sharp observation and quick wit. His signature song, The Man in Black, from 1971, remains an enduringly powerful statement of empathy for his fellow man: “I wear black for the poor and beaten-down / Living on the hopeless hungry side of town.”
These songs were written to be sung, however, and in The Life in Lyrics, without that inimitable voice to sustain them, their essential simplicity can appear trite. The accompanying text, written by authorised Cash biographer Mark Stiepler with dewy-eyed contributions from Cash’s son John Carter Cash, is informative but hagiographic, with a tendency to exaggerate achievements and gloss over failings. Cash’s brave 1969 anti-Vietnam war song, Route 1, Box 144, which describes a dead American soldier being returned to his family, may offer genuinely touching commentary, but is it really “the greatest argument for peace ever devised”?
youtube
There’s also an unfortunate tendency to brush over or excuse the darker elements of Cash’s life, the drug addictions, infidelities and appalling behaviour – despite the fact that these gave his music so much depth. The 1964 hit Understand Your Man is a song of spectacular bitterness directed at his soon-to-be ex-wife Valerie while he was already having an affair with future wife June Carter, yet it warrants only a brief, glib paragraph. I could have done with fewer stories about the deeply pious impulses behind Cash’s gospel hymns, and more tales about, say, the time he smashed every crystal chandelier in a hotel lobby in a drug-fuelled rage over his amorous rejection by a friend’s widow. The Man in Black accepted the darkness within him: it’s a disservice to try to whitewash his image now.
As well as being a songwriter, Cash was an interpreter who could make a song completely his own, but this aspect of his art is inevitably missing from a book of his lyrics, so there’s no commentary on such Cash hits as Ring of Fire, A Boy Named Sue, The Ballad of Ira Hayes, Highwayman or his definitive cover of Hurt (originally by the industrial metal group Nine Inch Nails). We do, however, learn of the genesis of one of his last and finest songs, the mysterious, apocalyptic The Man Comes Around. Composed in 2000, it was apparently inspired by a dream about Queen Elizabeth II, who told him: “Johnny Cash, you’re like a thorn tree in a whirlwind.”
In the last song Cash wrote, Like the 309, he imagined being carried away by a heavenly train, and viewed it with anticipatory relish: “Take me to the depot, put me to bed / Blow an electric fan on my gnarly old head.” As we reach the end of this mighty book, with the cumulative impact of Cash’s sincere words, the photos of his creased face changing over the years, his clear and consistent love for June and family and, indeed, his fellow man, the final pages become incredibly moving. Blind and weakened, Cash awaits his inevitable end, still embracing life with humour and pathos.
When I spoke to him that day, he was stoically suffering ill health, and in such constant pain that, having kicked his pill addiction, he was required to take painkillers just to function. Yet, when I asked what was the best advice he had ever received, he didn’t miss a beat. “Don’t sleep with your whiskey bottle by the bed,” he said, laughing deep and low. “That’s a piece of advice that has probably kept me alive this long.”
Johnny Cash: The Life in Lyrics is published by White Rabbit

I watched the first episodes of both the new racing anime, MF Ghost and Overtake! Here are my thoughts.
A little bit about me: I do like cars. I'm a big fan of Top Gear and have been since I was a teenager. I married a car mechanic who is building his own racecar (a 90s Lexus that he is going to put a 2JZ engine into). We watch NASCAR and F1 from time to time. He plays Gran Turismo and Forza. We have watched stages 1 and 2 of Initial D together. I wouldn't say I'm an expert car knower like he is, but I'm somewhat of a car knower.
MF Ghost (which I am just going to jokingly call Motherfucking Ghost until they spell it out) is from the same artist as Initial D, so it has that same uhh distinctive art style. Very square jaws, everyone is drawn as if they have on lipstick, etc. It's not my favorite art style. The CGI on the cars looks incredible - Initial D truly looks like the Money for Nothing music video by comparison lol.
My husband and I are both no fans of electric cars, and he's sometimes worried that gas engines will indeed someday stop being manufactured entirely as they are in the "15 minutes in the future" world of MF Ghost. A character also implies that all other forms of auto racing have shuttered or been banned ("he would have been in Le Mans back in the day"), making MF Ghost almost a dystopia!
Kanata is interesting - coming back to Japan to look for his father, and something has happened to his mother too (what could that be?), after going to a racing school (what kind? Is it just an MFG school? Or do they still do other kinds of auto racing?), he hops into a beautifully rendered Toyota 86 (the famed Hachiroku - we named our cat Hachi after this car) to get into MFG.
We do not see much racing at all in this first episode, and it ends RIGHT as the Eurobeat starts - which seemed like the ultimate "Awww man! Seriously?!" moment to me - but we do get to know Kanata and...Ren. Oh, Ren, honey, I can already tell that men are failing you. She's a high school student who works as a race queen in the SKIMPIEST outfit I've ever seen on a race queen (it is literally just a sports bra and white panties. It ain't no dang way those are pants of any kind) and two grown ass men are seen lusting after her. Because she doesn't want to disclose any information about herself, they don't know her age but we do, thus making the extensive male gaze she gets all the more stomach-twisting. Just once I would love for her to tell that Aiba guy "Oh, by the way? I'm in high school." He would shit his britches.
Of course, Initial D also dealt with a teenage girl, a whole child, having an enjo kosai relationship with a grown ass man. So grown ass men messing with girls when they should know better seems to just be a Thing that Shuichi Shigeno likes to put in his stories. Doesn't mean I have to like it. As a woman, I just want to protect Ren and help her!
Overall though, it's an interesting premise with a lot of questions.
To me Overtake has more passion and heart though. It's set in just the normal world, where F4 and Super GT racing both still exist lol, and mainly concerns a photographer (who very much reminded me of Kaji from Evangelion) who has been traumatized and cannot photograph people's faces as a result. He is assigned to take pictures of the Super GT cars and gets distracted by the F4, their opening act. Since he's an audience stand-in character, he gets a helpful education in the finer points of racing, making this much easier for car not-knowers to pick up. The characters are fun and charming, I don't see any obvious evidence of girls being manipulated by the male gaze (there are race queens but they're wearing proper outfits with tops and bottoms), there's a Godfather reference and LOTS of racing right from the jump. Seeing Koya suddenly get that light in his eyes as soon as he went into the paddock, I understood that - that's how I felt when my friend took me to my first hockey game. Immediately I was just like YUP this is awesome, I love it, more please. So I think Overtake has a lot of heart and a more upbeat feeling than MF Ghost.
I'll keep watching both because I'm interested in seeing where they're going, but I am a little 😬 about the treatment and portrayal of Ren.
Still, it's fun to have not one but TWO car racing anime in the same season!

Transformers: Mosaic #425 - "Way To Fall"
Originally posted on October 22nd, 2009
Story, Art - Iván Mas
deviantART | Seibertron | TFW2005 | BotTalk
wada sez: Mas released this highly unconventional strip under pseudonym due to the differences in content to his usual—but he interacted with commenters as usual on deviantART, so I think there’s no harm in crediting him properly. This strip gives an impressionistic origin story for Abraham Dante, the human Headmaster partner of Scorponok and leader of the Machination in Simon Furman’s comics for IDW. Mas uses allusions to Dante’s real-world namesake—writer of the Divine Comedy, a first-person account of a journey through the Christian afterlife—to play up the idea of a deal with the devil. This was Mas’ second attempt at a Mosaic strip primarily consisting of a collage of photos, after “The Oregonian”, but this was the first to be accepted for publication, presumably thanks to its more traditional format and original artwork. The human figures in this strip feature skeletal smiles superimposed over their mouths, the inspiration for which Mas attributes to the novel The Man Who Laughs, the movie adaptation of which apparently inspired Bill Finger in the creation of the most infamous Batman villain, the Joker. See below for a motivational poster released as a preview for the strip, and a machine translation of Mas’ commentary.

Well, I think this page deserves an explanation, for several reasons.
First, if you notice, I have signed with a pseudonym, that's according to the fact that I’ve used a very different—or totally different—style from mine, the cut of the story is intended to be sinister, mature and scary.... seems more a kind of paranoia or nightmare ... hence I decided not to include anything that could identify the story with anything or anyone, in this case ... say it's like a tormented part of me, had made that story ... something like that wanted to make itself understood.
A lot of people tell me that the style reminds me of Dave McKean.... please... I can't compare myself with that man in anything, but I take it as a compliment, the truth is that this was not the intention, but that's how it came out... it's very possible that unconsciously I resorted to his style, even so, he was the first to mix photographs with drawings and textures.... he’s a great artist, I haven’t discovered anything new.
On the other hand I had a thorn in my side, since I try that each mosaic has a more or less different style or a different cut, except when I make "sagas" as Masterforce, for example. Recall that I already made one based on retouched photographs, but it was rejected... now in this second attempt it was all good.
I wasn't sure if Transformers fans would get into the game on this page... it has a very different atmosphere from what we have seen so far, and above all from what we have seen in IDW, much more immature and poor in some aspects.
If we look... each vignette could have several readings or meanings.... for example the first one, we see a baby, lil’ Dante..... the photo’s mouth is swapped, what is below lets us glimpse his true nature..... nature that we will discover in the final vignette, where we see how he has always been, as a robot, an automaton, cold, energetic, calculating, insensitive ... with a big eye, as if it were a God, or something like that....
The second is a long panel, where we review a little of his life... and at the end in the lower right corner, we can glimpse something of "Machination".
The third .... we see him how we see the world leaders .... speaking to the people, in the upper right corner we see some soldiers, a war, the men of power pull while making decisions that condemn many. And that's why they hate them so much... maybe that's why they deserve to die instead of innocents, that's why the silhouettes of the guns pointing at him, the cracked line would reflect the inner torment of that person for something he doesn't have yet or can't get.
And the fifth... he swears allegiance to the devil himself, Scorponok, a superior being with the power to give life and take it away, in the lower right corner we see some demon pointing his trident at them...
As for purely the mosaic ... the idea was easy ... the human being is evil by nature or becomes ... well ... in this case it is clear that from the beginning Dante is a cruel being, and that his spirit is corrupt, like many people, politicians, military, people with power basically ... only they, would have access to deal with someone of his ilk, Decepticons, Demons.
I hope you enjoy it, and for those of you who don't like it, I hope the next one will be better.
Thanks for everything.

Charles Grogg, series "After Ascension And Descent".
Charles Grogg tells: "I take the title of this portfolio, “After Ascension and Descent,” from a phrase by Pierre Joris in A Nomad Poetics in which he calls for an approach to writing that accounts for what Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari refer to as “rhizomatic,” allowing for varieties of discourse, idioms, syntax, even languages.
I gave the work this title because I am at a loss when it comes to speaking of knowing one’s roots. My family, with its adopted members, silence about its past, reverence for the absolute at the expense of the profane, has taught me to speak one language only. To be monolingual is to be foreshortened, and like so many Americans I know I speak a provincial, not a global, language. The advent of “wireless” living does nothing to allay this. If anything, we are almost hopelessly tethered—to each other, to the world. It’s when we forget this, when we think we are free beyond complicity, that we encounter trouble looking for meaning.
Thinking in these terms has resulted in these images, an expression of desire for growth at the moment of inhibition, when hesitation is the gap between desiring and having."

As we settle into a warm and toasty WAWFswinter we of course have some new artists to present
With this also being our first official collab Fraud Issue shot by photographer @wavechrist and edited by our original curator @vyngak WAWF has some gifts It must be WAWFchrist-mas
Read below for an exclusive interview and some behind the scenes moments with new artists of WAWF
Find out about all the big plans they have in store
Tumblr media
Who are we here with?
Floaty-man, Floaty… pretty flacko jr.. shoutout to ASAP
So you would say ASAP is one of your main influences then?
Hell yeah ASAP is one of my biggest influences. I never really was the one to be like ‘I’m inspired by people’, but I was heavily influenced by like certain people..and they help me be my best self. So now.. my goal is to be better than them cause I’m pretty sure that’s what they would
So would ASAP be a bigger influence to you in fashion or music?
Definitely the music too, ASAP gave me more of the fashion tip. Like the ok to add my swag to my music instead of just trying to push my message I can also add my personality and I can also add how I dress myself and just how I live my life daily.. Regardless of what it look like I can still be on some fly sh*t
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rap name?
Floaty
Where does that name come from?
I always used to get in trouble a lot so when I used to get in trouble I used to stare.. it was the only thing you could do like.. couldn’t play the game or nothing so I would like go outside and literally look at clouds or something.. or when I was in class too I would go to ISD. ISD you get in trouble, you’d be in school but not in school you know what I’m sayin
Tumblr media
What can we expect from Floaty in the future?
Expect a lot of shit.. I would say this cause I’m a renaissance man of art. Expect for me to get into short films. But music real heavy, fashion real heavy you know, events real heavy. But short films is what we adding to the list as well
How did you find out about WAWF?
It’s just all organic, it’s really shoutout to Wave. Shoutout to wavechrist cause you know that was the fine point it was just all divine you know. He was just telling me this is who you need to connect with and it was a wrap from there
Tumblr media
Who are we here with?
Hello good people of the planet earth and all the other space-lings out there in the world.. I go by the name of ShowwwTimee. That’s with 3 W’s and 2 E’s
Why 3 W’s and 2 E’s
Its always about individuality and how you can express yourself a little bit differently. Plus we not tryna get sued by the actual Showtime tv network you know.. But if they ever wanna collab and put ShowwwTimee on Showtime we could do that
And on a personal note if we wanna get on numerology type time the real name is Shomari and so every name in my full name has 7 letters.. and you know what that means
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tell us about your art
The first art form is definitely film, that’s where all of the inspiration comes from. And then.. I picked up sewing over the pandemic.. It’s been a couple years now since we been doing that. At first I was making the clothes to go with the films, but now the films gotta support the clothes at this point cause I just hit some sort of momentum with the designing and I just can’t stop really. So now I gotta make my films around the pieces, make storylines off these characters that you see i’m making
Describe your fit
We got rainbow boots with tool kinda material for the laces.. shoutout Walmart on that. Thrifted sweatpants.. yellow sweatpants, primary.. We got the yellow blazer, primary and then all the other colors of the rainbow secondary. We got a pac-man tee that got chopped up and turned into a hat up top.. Pieced it together with a raincoat, a yellow raincoat that I found so it’s like a combination in there
Tumblr media
Where would you say your style inspo comes from?
Honestly intuition, i’d say intuition leads me and then the colors.. the colors just speak and I combine the two. I find ways to combine the color combinations and different ways to piece it together
What can we expect next from you?
Next we’re gonna have to make a film for the pieces to live in and immortalize them cause yeah you can enjoy them on a day to day basis, on the social networks, but I’m really tryna get all my people off of the social networks and out of the matrix. So I gotta make my own films and put them in a place where all my people can come and congregate together you know.. something like this, shoutout to them boys down in RVA. I’ve never experienced a conglomerate of a community like this so for yall to open yall doors.. shoutout Hugh, shoutout Gavyn, shoutout Floaty, shoutout WAWF
Tumblr media
How’d you find out about WAWF?
Honestly they found me. Likeminded individuals always find each other. That’s like soul tribe right there
Along with promoting/supporting growing artists like these WAWF magazine pushes art fashion culture and much more
Stay tuned for all of the exciting things WAWF has planned

— Tamino for CRUSH Fanzine, Issue 14 / 2018 (x)
Tamino (Habibi)
Photographed by Nicolas Wagner Interview by Ariel Kenig Styled by Marie Revelut Tamino is wearing Ann Demeulemeester
I'm crazy about him. His music is like a shock to the system. His name is Tamino, and I met him via CRUSHfanzine’s co-editor, Nicolas Wagner, who decided to shoot my new crush while he was in Paris. But Tamino is not only a crush. We could call it love, admiration — the ultimate crush. I am reminded of those rare times when discovering an artist forces you to compare his immensity to others. To err is human, I guess. And yet, when faced with two figures, two faces, two pyramids, the brain needs to differentiate shapes and shades in order to better recognize them. I met Tamino, asked him a few questions. I had a serious look on my face. It didn't last long. Not long enough. Here is my transcript…
“My paternal grandfather died when I was 5 years old. He lived in Cairo. I was always familiar with his songs, primarily via cassettes that my mother would play me when I was little. She thought it was very important that I know where I come from. It's a little strange to see him on YouTube. My dad takes care of those types of things, but it's not easy. My grandfather never really thought about his legacy. There are other singers, like Abdel Halim Hafez, who are still alive and are better known today than my grandfather. His music is everywhere. It would probably be a good thing if my family took steps to showcase this heritage. My grandfather was the first Egyptian singer to play electric guitar on stage. He listened to Elvis Presley… he wrote part of his music himself. As for myself, I write alone. And I do almost everything all by myself. I've been working with a producer whom I met two years ago, on an EP at first. We had such good chemistry that we re-recorded my song “Cigar” together. I told him about my video concept, of that skeleton that stars in the clip, and he produced the song with that idea in mind. That's what I like about him and the guy he's in a two-man band with: they think not only in terms of sound, but of entity. They want to capture the essence of an artist and take it to such-or-such particular idea they have of him, portray him in this or that way, and in my case, take the project to quite majestic heights. You may find it funny, but I don’t write “sad” songs. I mean, I'm not telling the story of a guy sitting alone on his bed with his guitar... I like more epic, more “regal” things. I love Belgian surrealism, that I connect in my work to more Eastern or romantic references. For me, it's a logical juxtaposition... I've not been to Egypt for five or six years, but I'm going back next week. I can’t wait. I like to go closer to the Red Sea, in the less touristy places. I don't have a TV, I don't read the press, and I deleted my Facebook account. I stay abreast of what's happening in Egypt via YouTube. It's strange for me to see that these wars that are rocking the Arab world have existed for thousands of years…
Facebook has too many distractions. I need to stay focused in some sort of flow, to work every day for a long time, whether I end up writing only two sentences or an entire melody. All in all, if you include all the projects and bands in which I participated, I must have written over a hundred songs. For my album, we recorded 18, of which we'll keep 11 of 12. Right now, we're working on mixing it. I studied at the Conservatory, in the popular music department, which gave me a lot of freedom. I worked on my Voice and I continue to maintain it. I am careful not to scream in bars when the music is too loud. It’s easy to end up screaming without even realizing... Although these days, I don't go out much... I don’t have the time. And I have no personal life! [Laughs.] It’s true, it's crazy. I am 21 years old. My life is a little different. You're never around, and when you come out, your friends are surprised: “What? I thought you were in a relationship, I thought you moved.” I don’t feel the age difference with the people I work with. When I was younger, I was very shy, and at the same time, I needed to express myself. It was a weird combination. Nowadays, I'm lining up the tour dates. Our last concert in Paris, at La Maroquinerie, was very moving. My two musicians cried in the middle of the concert. I was getting dewy-eyed myself. It was so intense, to be so well-received in another country. I was reminded of one of our first concerts in Belgium... I think the album will be both an extension of the EP and a synthesis between two themes: romance that can both lift you up and make you vulnerable because you can fall at any time, and indifference to life, in the meaning we give to it, our investment in it. Everyone has a dark side but… I don't know... I do not only write somber music, but I know myself a little bit, so… It's sometimes cumbersome... When you spend too much time looking in the mirror, you end up doing nothing... Sometimes, it's better to just “do,” and the song may tell you something about yourself. A song written in twenty minutes, without too much thinking. This earring? I found it in an old cupboard. It's my mother’s. I'm not sure that she ever wore it.
