What is going on with Jimin, Jungkook and Jikook?

I've been a BTS fan since early 2017. Back in the day, I ran this blog here, analyzing a lot of Jikook moments, but life sort of took over, and I stopped having the time for it. However, I never stopped being a fan and observing BTS and Jikook through the years. There's a lot said and written already about the supposed video of JK, but here are my two cents.

To me, the most logical explanation for that video is that this really is Jungkook. The layout of the apartment matches (yes, even the position of the security system, if you have ever watched JKs lives, you'd know that it actually is at his shoulder height, just like in the video), the dog looks like Bam, the couch is the same and this definitely looks like JK. There's also another video of the man in this apartment, alone, shirtless, and having a whole tattoo sleeve on his right arm just like JK. Obviously, we don't know for sure, but it looks like it's him. People say it was filmed in late Feb, early March, and I agree. JK had the same hair then, the outfits look warm, like winter clothes and not to forget, that when JK was stalked in his gym (late of February) there were a lot of fuss about a girl being there with him, so it all checks out in my book.

Now, what the video shows isn't that scandalous. A boy hugging a girl from behind and them playfighting/tickling each other or whatever. It isn't overly explicit. It could mean a lot of things, but it's clear the people are at the very least physically comfortable with each other. It's a short video. We don't know if they're even alone, but it looks like it. There are a number of possibilities for whom this person is to JK: a long-time girlfriend, a casual hook-up, a one night stand, or just a friend.

We'll probably never know for sure. What we do know is that this is an unacceptable invasion of privacy, and the person who took those videos should be sued for all they are worth. I hope we all agree on that, yes?

Now, if this girl is someone JK is dating/has dated/has slept with, where does that leave his and JM's relationship?

In my eyes, as someone who's observed them for literal years now, there's no way JM and JK have always had a strictly platonic relationship. Too much just doesn't add up. Sure, technically, they could be bestest friends with great chemistry, but as someone who is now 30 years old, I don't think I've seen this type of chemistry between people ever be just platonic. At times, it looked too much like sexual tension for it to easily be dubbed as "friendly".

My theory is this (keep in mind these are still just assumptions):

In 2017-2020, pre-Covid era, JM and JK spent A LOT of time together, basically all of it. BTS were super active, they didn't have any breaks. They were always working. Always on tour and doing smth else. JM and JK were pretty young back then (20-24) and this is typically the time when someone discovers their sexuality and starts experimenting, and I believe that at some point they did this together. They were best friends but also had this weird tension and air around them and I think they could've started a physical relationship back then. The members teasing them hear and there about being a couple, also kind of supports this, though of course, it doesn't prove anything.

Contrary to other people, I don't belive they only just fucked. It's very hard to have sex with someone who you are very close to otherwise, who you love and admire as a person, and not catch romantic feelings for them, so I think they did more than fucking. Whether they had a serious relationship or decided not to label it much, due to MS coming up, the group being in jeopardy or other reasons, I tend to think that other than sex, they also had feelings.

Side note: In any case, they were figuring thinks out about themselves as individuals, as well as a pair. I think maybe this is the time JM realized he is definitely bisexual (which he proudly expressed in his photobook of last year in my opinion). Idk what Jk figured out for himself, if anything.

Anyhow, by 2020‐2021 it seemed they had some sort of agreement about what/who they were to each other. At times they could have been on and off. There might have been other people/partners in-between, but I think they were mainly together by this point. It even looked like they lived together for some time. The fact they always took the same car and they were together on JKs birthday night when they first had number 1 on hot 100 sort of proves it. JM's birthday live in 2021 was also sus af (the way he was blushing while mentioning JK and their whole convos, very sus).

I think before Covid they had smth somewhat stable but then Covid hit. Their schedules changed, it was a tough period overall. Suddenly, they were not working and traveling so much, they were staying in SK. I think this was the time things started getting much more real and different. MS was also in the near horizon. Maybe one of them wanted a more committed relationship, and the other wasn't ready. Maybe they were both afraid. Maybe they tried and it didn't really work out. Maybe one finally realized his sexuality and the other had doubs. Whatever it was, the feelings of affection were still there. Chemistry as well. Proof: JM bday live in 2021 was just crazy, the way he blushed when JK was mentioned and the way the spoke to each other... man. Also, the way the were at PTD L.A. The way JK answered questions about JM etc.

So , all that connected them as people was still there, but I think their relationship come late 2021-early 2022 was definitely more unstable. Who knows what happened then. Personally, I don't believe in the theory that they opened their relationship, rather I believe by the second half of 2022, due to whatever reasons, things were simple mostly off between them. I believe they stayed this way all through the second half of the year and at least the first 4 months of 2023. They were friends, their families still loved and supported each other (JK's mom made seaweed soup for JM's bday, which one does for family) but that's about it. They weren't living together anymore, as well.

The beginning of 2023 we saw a very busy JM and a very not busy JK. Sure, they still commented on their welives but it seemed they didn't meet each other that often. Jm was working, JK was at home and occasionally with Tae. Yeah, JK watched a lot of JM content and often invited him over, but he also didn't know when his promotions will be over and it seemed they haven't seen each other for some time and JK was missing JM. I think if they truly were a serious couple back then, they would still have found the time to meet each other no matter how busy one or the other was, especially considering they live in the same city, and it wasnt the case. I don't think JK would have to resort to watching hours of JM's content just to satisfy his need-for-JM thirst, if they were a couple back then.

So, yeah, I think they were not more than friends by this point, for sure, which also ties up pretty well with the timing of the recent leaked video (February-March). To me it seems that JK and JM probably saw other people in that period, at least JK, JM was pretty damn busy then. Maybe they had some serious partners even, maybe just hook-ups here and there. Maybe this was JK's time to explore more of his heterosexual side, who knows. I don't think he stopped caring for JM in some capacity. In fact it kind of looked like he longed for his company but for one reason or another, they were simply not that much in each other's lives in the first quarter of 2023.

But then something weird happened around June-July. First JM is all scratched up from something (presumably Bam) indicating he saw JK and spent time with him. Then Seven came out and JM flew to NY. There they spend a long, fun weekend amid promotions. It wasn't a secret but they seemed to want to keep private and didn't really want to talk about it , judging by the way JK answered the question about JM being in NY as well. JM was practically silent. Then they returned and that welive happened. The one where they openly flirted, JM said he could handle JK naked, JK blushed like a school girl and tried everything in his power to get to JM but JM said "I'm not that easy". That welive. Idk about you, but that welive didn't seem platonic to me at all and if I had been JK's partner at the time, I would definitely be very angry with his behaviour. I don't think JK is disrespectful and a cheater, and neither is JM for that matter, so I believe there's no way any of them had a partner when that welive happened. I simply refuse to belive they are that type of people.

So, my conclusion is they were both single then and something definitely happend in July and NY. They returned somewhat different and they still kind of are. Jk posted pics of NY to Twitter for the first time. Jm shared a pic from then for JKs bday (shirtless, as we all know) and then recently another pic from a boat that could have been from back then, as well. The whole way they're acting offline and online strangely reminds me a lot of the time after their trip to Tokyo, actually. The way JM has been posting about JK very much give me nostalgia about the way he used to post Jikook often in 2017-2018 before he withdrew from social media. But maybe that's just me 🤷‍♀️

Anyway, to finish this long post I will say this. I don't know what Jikook were and are to each other and unless, it is explicitly denied the person in the video is JK, I will believe that it's him. But also, unless it is confirmed he currently has a girlfriend, I will have my doubts. The video is old and in any case, it doesn't prove much other than the fact JK is maybe into women (solely or also into them). This video though doesn't automatically negate everything I've seen between Jikook through the years. In some ways, it confirms what I've been thinking for a long time now. Unless JM and JK personally shut down any rumors about them and deny any romantic connection or confirm a relationship with someone else , I still believe that at some point in their lived their relationship crossed the platonic line.

Whether that was in the past or is currently true, I only can guess, but to me there's no way these two were always, all these years, just only friends.

For now, I will observe how JK, JM and Hybe are acting after the leaked videos and go from there. It will also be indicative.

I love looking too deeply into things that were clearly meant to be jokes and not serious in any shape or form. Today on the list: Kian’s relationship with Donna. Under the cut to avoid filling people’s feeds

Now I think most people will agree that Kian’s relationship with his own parents probably wasn’t great. I mean I’m just saying if my parents didn’t give me a last name I probably would just assume they didn’t want me or something. It’s one thing to support your child if they want to change their name but it’s a whole different thing to not even give them the choice to keep the name you gave them.

Now this plays pretty interestingly with Donna considering the fact that she’s without a doubt the best parent we see in the campaign. And we don’t know exactly how old Kian was when he and the others became friends, my personal headcanon is like 12-13, but if you have a child and they make a new friend who’s parents are probably known to be in a cult and also hippies and also didn’t bother naming their child? I’d grab that child so fucking fast and try to treat them as my own. Show them some love and support they wouldn’t get from their own parents.

And so like I find it extremely reasonable to assume that when they were younger Donna probably would have been very caring towards Kian (and obviously Rolan as well but this post isn’t about him). And I find it pretty reasonable to assume that if Kian’s parents were neglectful he would probably have just clung onto that care from an adult because he just needed some fucking paternal support.

But the thing is. I find it very easy to headcanon Kian with some major abandoment issues that honestly even rival Rand’s. Because I mean Rolan left them, Becky left him and he waited for her for fifteen fucking years, we can assume Rand wasn’t exactly emotionally available because he had his own issues (can’t really blame him for that but still), his parents were probably shit, and judging by the fact that Kian is very clearly a huge romantic who literally waited for his high school girlfriend for fifteen years, and yet in his introduction it’s made extremely clear that he doesn’t seem to do like serious relationships anymore? My guess would be that he had a lot failed relationships in his like early twenties and when none of them worked out he eventually just gave up and settled for one night stands.

Now this works alongside something else that is of course very notable about Kian: his looks. Like we don’t know their stats exactly I don’t think but he is canonically extremely attractive and probably has his highest characteristic in appearance. Because he’s a grizzly character. Of course he does (/lh).

But I find it very reasonable to assume that if someone had pretty bad abandonment issues and was extremely attractive and aware of that, it would become very easy for them to assume that people could only want them or care about them for their looks. And if we assume that, we can probably also assume that they would heavily lean into that and use their looks to get even some kind of affection and care from others even if it’s extremely surface level.

And bringing this back to Donna: if we assume that all my reachings in this post are correct (they are not, i am looking too deep into things because it is my favorite hobby) then it really just puts Kian’s relationship with Donna into an entirely new and way sadder light. Because suddenly it’s not just an extremely flirty person flirting with his friend’s mom for fun, but instead someone who’s been lacking any kind of paternal affection for his entire life trying to make himself sexually appealing to the one person he might have received it from because at least that way she’d care for him on some level.

And the thing is I don’t know if Kian would even be like… aware that’s what he’s doing. Or if he’d really just removed any possibility for platonic or familial love from his own life that he couldn’t even recognise that that’s what he really wants.

And maybe it’s even worse that it works. That Donna is attracted to him. That he can get that affection and love from her, someone who probably knew him as a kid, who might have practically raised him, and wouldn’t that just make him even more sure that he’s right? That the only way anyone could ever truly love and care for him is if he makes himself sexually appealing to them?

(Sorry for long post. I am. Thinking about him every second of every minute of every hour of every day of every week of every month of every-)

hello there!! i'm happy to talk a little more about it, absolutely! ^^

for those who didn't peep at the tags of my last post, in which i discussed how painful it must be to a seeking-redemption durge to be so heavily rejected by the party, i wrote in the tags:

this might not be exactly what you were looking for but i will do my best!

at the absolute least, i believe the minimum consequences of this interaction involve durge shutting down and withdrawing from most of the group. thinking in particular of my seeking-redemption durge, asha, she carries guilt interwoven with resentment -- she knows she has done wrong and that she deserves to bare the brunt of their rage, but she is also so furious with the idea that these people do not know how much she has done for them since waking up in that pod.

how many urges has she squashed? how many easy kills has she passed up on? does anyone other than gale (her romance interest) even begin to comprehend how painful it was to resist killing isobel, killing gale himself, and yet she did it anyway? because it was the right thing to do?

and yet here, when they all learn the truth -- durge included! they have fucking amnesia! -- it's almost like not a soul left there cares that they've clawed and fought and bled for the entire party at every point.

i think a lot about the dialogue durge has with astarion the morning after realizing they're a bhaalspawn. of all of the companions, he is the only person to realize something is wrong from minute one, and he asks about their sleep and their weights they carry. he then proceeds to empathize with durge, saying they are alike, and that he believes they will succeed.

and yet it seems no one else in the party feels the same, and that has to be agonizingly isolating for durge.

now, onto gortash.

at this point in act 3, the durge has (likely) found the prayer for forgiveness in balthazar's lab in act 2. this scrap of their past lets them know enver gortash was a source of tension in their following of bhaal, enough that they are begging for forgiveness from their father over their admiration and fondness for him.

for us durgetash enjoyers, this is a romantic entanglement. for those who do not see their relationship as romantic, it's still a clear platonic attachment for durge that shook their faith in bhaal's plans.

the people who have traveled with the durge for weeks are (seemingly) regretting that decision, and blaming them for things they cannot recall doing. enver gortash greets them like a friend, offers them a metaphorical and literal hand, reaching out to them when others are pulling away.

at minimum, it creates tension. gortash is "bad" and their party members are "good", right? certainly the durge cannot go on to support gortash in damning the world when that's the "wrong" thing to do -- right?

and yet.

if even those who the durge may have started to believe should be able to understand and accept them, due to having similar-enough struggles in their own past with domineering patrons/gods/masters -- if even they cannot understand, what hope is there for anyone else in the world besides enver gortash offering them that same acceptance?

why save a world that cannot and will not open its arms to you?

thusly, the next step is for the durge to minimum consider what gortash is offering. for me, the durge is most likely to kill orin before gortash anyway, so the first steps here are simple.

depending on how the party continues to respond, the wedge may deepen or back out. depending on how the durge continues to be exposed to enver gortash, they may be more drawn into him or pushed away.

another step up (or down, as it were) would involve who orin kidnaps. we know that she may take gale, halsin or lae'zel, or take the child, yenna.

a particularly bitter durge might let them die. why waste their breath on someone who could not find it in their heart to forgive them?

we proceed apace. i know it's (huge spoilers ahead) canon that gortash is slain by the netherbrain. but if we pretend that that can be avoided one way or another, i believe the second-to-most-nuclear option here is the durge taking over the world with gortash as he originally suggested. in turn, choosing to reject redemption (largely, considering they are still sparing gortash and bhaal wants everyone dead) purely because the party could not see them as redeemable.

(and let's not even get STARTED on how this would involve killing astarion too, the one party member who even got close to seeing her, because the pain drowned out his love too entirely.)

the most nuclear, of course, would be the durge deciding they could not even trust gortash, and instead killing him and embracing bhaal entirely, drowning the entire world in blood as bhaal would have wanted.

now, the bittersweet twist on all of this would be something of a happy ending with a redeemed gortash twist, as so many of us love. perhaps the wedge drives them closer to gortash, but along the way the party is able to prove their willingness to support and accept the durge. but now durge is tangled up in enver, and the only path forward, it seems, is to attempt to free both the chosen of bhaal and the chosen of bane from their masters.

(essentially the consequences of their semi-betrayal being that durge gets in too deep with gortash and they (read: karlach, mostly) have to accept that, but they all live happily ever after because the power of friendship yadda yadda-- my durgetash brain needs a crumb of fluff now and then.)

anyway, this is as disjointed as my sanity but i do hope you got some enjoyment out of it!

As always, there were a lot of videos on the app of people reacting to the podcast that nobody had expected; people crying, screaming, talking, and every possible reaction that one could show.

In a 736K liked TikTok video, a fan was sitting in her car—a common setting that was used, and one that had you feeling like it was going to be a good one—starting the 3-minute video by taking a breath.

“Let’s talk,” she said before the video cut to her again, “What the fuck? What the actual fuck?” She began, pinching her nose and looking outside the window before looking back at her phone, “So, for those who don’t know, Harry talked about Y/N, his ex, on his sister’s podcast and he said a lot of things.

“One,” she raised a finger, “That he broke her heart. It was him who hurt her. Two,” two fingers, “She gave him nothing but love and support and basically was—was an amazing girlfriend. Three,” three fingers, “He could’ve done better. And four,” four fingers, “That he’s basically jealous of Joe—Joe Keery, who’s currently Y/N’s boyfriend,” she said.

The girl then sighed, “It’s good that Harry, like—It’s good that he talked about this and that he’s trying to heal. I think it shows how mature their relationship was even if it went to shit, but,” she pursed her lips for a second, “I think we should all know that publicity stunts happen in the industry and Harry’s relationship with Y/N was caught in the middle—it got hurt, got abused in the middle. You guys can’t think like, oh no, Harry lied to us about Olivia.

“Because that’s just childish. Fake relationships suck, sure, but they happen. And I will not be getting into discussions of whether Holivia was fake or not because,” she raised a hand up, “It literally was. Because according to timelines and the leaked pictures, Harry and Y/N were together for 3 years.”

Nevertheless, people in her comments still commented about feeling betrayed by Harry for being part in a publicity stunt.

In another TikTok video, a clip from Harry’s Coachella performance of Boyfriends was added as he talked:

“To boyfriends everywhere,” he said, before the video cut to a leaked picture of you and Harry, “Fuck you,” Harry’s voice said before the text was written right under Harry’s face in the picture.

In another viral video, it was Brittany Broski, her mascara smudged with tears as she cried, with music from the song Somewhere Only We Know by Keane playing, and with two texts over her head:

""It’s not your breakup, why the hell are u crying?"" and "Harry styles what the fuck is your problem"

The video then shifted to the two most recent leaked pictures of you and Harry as a guitar was added to the background sound, and another text, and a quote that Harry had said in the podcast, was added:

(A/N: I wrote this because I love the concept of BFF Lucius more than life itself and my heart belongs to the tiny feral man. Who said this didn’t warrant its own set of headcanons? Shut up. I’m not far off caving and writing an Izzy breakup fic where Lucius is the reader’s supportive bestie (lemme know if you wanna see that). Also, quick shameless self-promotion for my first AO3 OFMD one-shot (just look at the tags before reading because it’s heavy).)

Lucius has no idea what attracts you to that angry little man.

He’ll make that perfectly clear.

As your best friend, he knows full well that you’re far from perfect.

But in his eyes, you deserve much better than Dizzy Izzy, Blackbeard’s feral chihuahua.

It’s no secret that Lucius loves you as much as he loathes Izzy.

Izzy won’t admit this but he adores you as much as he abhors Lucius.

Well, he’ll admit the latter half. 

Regularly.

But, the former will remain unsaid, for a while at least.

So, they know that they have to ‘play nice’ to some degree, despite their extreme dislike for one another.

They really do try their best for you because of how much they care about you.

Still, Lucius enjoys teasing the two of you, and Izzy still makes it known that he finds the scribe insufferable.

Suffice it to say, there’s a lot of tension between your best friend and your boyfriend.

Lucius is a lot like a protective parent in the sense that he always keeps an eye on your relationship.

You’re not supposed to know this but he’s enlisted the help of the crew on this front.

He’s nosy as fuck and will ask many invasive questions, like a mum when her child gets into their first relationship

He definitely gave Izzy the classic protective loved one speech at some point.

Be prepared for so many passive-aggressive comments from both of them.

Well, Izzy’s are more aggressive than passive and often spat through gritted teeth.

Sometimes, Izzy will (begrudgingly) ask Lucius for advice when it comes to your relationship.

Of course, Lucius is overjoyed.

Part of it’s because he’s glad to see Izzy cares enough about making you happy that he can swallow his pride.

Most of it’s because he gets a great deal of pleasure out of Izzy needing his help.

He also enjoys meddling.

But, he’ll still give the best possible advice, because he wants you to be happy even if it’s with that ferocious little creature.

Hell hath no fury like Lucius when you and Izzy get into a fight.

He hates it when you’re in the wrong during a fight, because of course he hates when Izzy’s even remotely right about anything.

But, odds are Izzy’s going to have said something stupid in the heat of the moment, and Lucius is going to be more annoyed at him than you are.

When Izzy’s done/said something that’s especially upset you, Lucius will march up to him and demand that he makes amends with you ASAP.

Until you make up with one another, he’ll comfort you and take care of you like the supportive bestie he is.

I feel like Lucius' attitude towards the relationship is so comically over the top that you can’t help but assume he’s doing it just to get on Izzy’s nerves.

But, I feel like Lucius is genuinely really concerned about Izzy hurting your feelings and breaking your heart.

And, it’s not like you can really blame him.

He cares so much about you and he knows what Izzy’s like.

At first, Lucius barely supports the relationship at all.

But, he supports you.

He can be a nuisance, but he’ll make sure he doesn’t go too far.

I can imagine the rest of the crew will have something to say about your relationship with Izzy, and Lucius will be the first to tell them when they’ve said enough.

Eventually, Lucius will start to realise how genuinely happy you are together.

Sometimes it’ll even warm his heart when Izzy doesn’t look completely miserable.

Alongside Ed, he’ll end up being your relationship’s number one shipper.

Oh hell yeah we'll get to one of my favourite spreads of the whole series in this Part.

I will also not excuse any swearing that I'm doing while writing this review.

Now I don't think I got this on my first read through, but the sound here ("Gakin") sounds very much like no bullet was loaded? Sooo I guess Wolfwood very cleverly anticipated this move by Legato so we have him double-tricking him! Good boy! (I haven't read all bookclub posts to vol8 yet, if smb else already said this, whoops)

It's started, guys. The inner thoughs of Wolfwood...You know when I started reading Trigun, I had just watched ep4 or 5 of Trigun and I thought Wolfwood was "just" another cool character, but basically a sidekick to the main character Vash. Then I binged the manga in 3 days and saw that, although none of the other characters like Meryl and Milly are any less fleshed out or any less important, next to Vash he's probably the only one about whom we get so so much wonderful insight. So much deep character feelings, so much thoughts...and I'm so so in love with his inner monologues. They hurt to read but they show he's not just the cool priest with the machine gun, but he's hurting, he's self doubting, he's vulnerable and afraid at times and he has wishes too...

And when he's sitting there, riddled with bullets, it's the thought of Livio and how he still has to save him, that manages to get him to keep going.

They were friends, brothers! Memories of happier times...

And also being turned to him with his body, partly shielding Wolfwood with himself, too. This whole page. is so...romantic. And that feels almost like it doesn't even describe it accurately. This is most definitely the part where I really started to ship them, but then, is it romantic or platonic? It doesn't really matter because as much as you want to or NOT want to interpret into their relationship at this point, to me it's clear that there's some kind of love here that's based on their mutual understanding, trust, and how they both have supported each other until this point.

Is this your first day on the internet? People tag and draw blatantly-platonic seeming art that's actually ship art upon closer investigation constantly. Now idc what people do as long as its properly tagged, but it's a different story when my art is involved. Of course my DNIs are to prevent "misunderstandings." I don't even know where you got the jealousy thing from since he spends the whole comic actively trying to leave and stop Pan from sticking up for him. Your other points are just conspiratorial; I see no point addressing them.

So yeah, take your final proposition and shove it. Maybe focus on how to "effectively and convincingly portray" whatever content measures up to your standards instead of preaching to me like I shouldn't do the same. Ted Lasso finale AU where most things are the same but we encourage cutting out the toxic people in our beloved characters' lives.

Jamie gets a restraining order against his dad and they never speak again. Maybe his dad gets sober and supports him from afar. But it's both a bad writing decision for Jamie's arc and a bad message* for the show for them to reconcile without at the very least having Jamie's dad make some kind of reparations in the show.

Beard gets away from Jane even if he doesn't want to because she's so fucking bad for him and dating her is self destructive. Maybe Jane pulls some bullshit that requires the club to get a restraining order against her and then Beard has to choose between her and the club and Higgins puts his fucking foot down and insists that if Beard chooses Jane over the club he at the very least talks to Doc Sharon about it first because Higgins loves Beard, everyone at Richmond loves Beard, but if he leaves for Jane he can't come to games or be in their lives which would tear away his whole support system in England and make him entirely dependent on Jane. Which would be really bad for him. And it's not an ultimatum. But legally Beard can't be a part of Richmond if he's with her. Higgins would try to be there for Beard but the Diamond Dogs aren't the Diamond Dogs if one of them can't legally come to Richmond. It's very fraught but Beard hugs Higgins and talks to Doc Sharon and tells Jane that he needs the club more than he needs her and Higgins helps him block and delete her numbers and email and shit when she flips out.

Maybe she does something unhinged and breaks the restraining order and gets arrested. Maybe Beard spends a few nights sleeping at the club to keep himself safe from her. Maybe Higgins puts him up in his house to keep him safe because Jane burned down his fucking apartment.

No matter what, it's important to me that Beard gets away from Jane and Higgins helps him. Because that was such a good storyline that was totally abandoned and it would be a much better message* for the show to have than Jane and Beard getting married without Ted there and having a baby because that's fucking stupid.

As an aside I don't love Rebecca with the random Dutch man. Like I want her to be happy and if he makes her happy more power to her, buuuut it seems less like she likes him and more like she likes the idea of him so maybe instead.

And this is absolutely unhinged but it crawled into my brain and I kind of love it?

Beard and Rebecca have an incredibly ill-advised hookup exactly once right as he breaks up with Jane and she's grieving her friendship with Ted and retroactively like. Maybe I did love Ted romantically? But now it's too late? And like. Whether she did love Ted romantically, or is just grieving and in a culture that values romance over friendship and the power of her feelings are overwhelming her sense is up to interpretation. But either way. She's having big feelings and Beard is the closest thing to Ted she's got and he's having a melt down over Jane so. Exactly 1 hookup that defies every possible odd and they're platonically Co-parenting a child.

Ted loves this kid more than anything and visits way more often because of it, though. To be clear. I agree with Ted going back to the states because this story is an Odyssey and just like Dorothy no matter how much he loves Oz and his friends he needs to return to Kansas. And I could make a whole separate post on that. But anyway. BeardBecca baby that baffles and confuses everyone but somehow works. They're good friends who bond over their baby, their unexpected love of football/Richmond, and their love of Ted and have a very bizarre friendship that involves co-parenting a fucking brilliant chaotic child.

Also. I am a Roy/Keeley/Jamie truther so. I love Keeley choosing herself and I definitely want her to figure out who she is outside of a relationship for a while. But she and the boys eventually start all dating.

*To clarify: normally I'm not one to double down on the message that a show sends unless it's literally something that is educational and/or designed to teach children about their feelings, but Ted Lasso very much tries to teach the average American viewer about healthy ways to process emotions and non-toxic masculinity etc. So the messages it sends about relationships and forgiveness are very much part of the show and its purpose so having these shitty messages kind of undermines the purpose.

Mariner/T'Lyn, I ship it

1. What made you ship it?

Empathalogical Fallacies!!!! Mariner being the one to figure out what was going on and knowing exactly what to say to make her feel better? It was wonderful and I hope we get to see more episodes with them paired up

2. What are your favorite things about the ship?

Disaster girl x disaster girl my beloved ship dynamic. The ways they both struggle with emotionality pair together in such an interesting way, they could easily make each other better or make each other worse, but most likely will do both, and I'm so excited to see it happen

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on the ship?

I don't think so? I don't think the ship is popular enough to have established popular opinions about it. I will say I hope we get to see more of T'lyn supporting Mariner in the future- there's a pattern with fictional interracial relationships where the black character will provide all the emotional support for the nonblack character and get little to none in return. It's way too early to say that Mari'lyn falls into that, but I really, really hope it doesn't in the future

T'lyn/Tendi, I'm gonna go with I don't ship it, though I used to

1. Why don't you ship it?

This is difficult to put into a dichotomy of do/don't ship it because I don't not ship it, it's just that my enthusiasm has definitely waned. I certainly wouldn't be mad or say it was out of character if they did get together, but it's not something that I'd describe myself as shipping anymore.

During the break between seasons 3 & 4 I was very excited about the little hand hold, but Tendi's enthusiasm and effort to become friends felt to me like she was ignoring T'lyn's boundaries. Which made it feel a little like the Tuvok/Neelix dynamic, a dynamic which I despise. Tendi/T'lyn certainly aren't that extreme, and it's clear that Tendi's gonna work on those boundary issues, but it was enough to put me off it for now.

2. What would have made you like it?

I still could very easily like it in the future, I just need to see more of Tendi respecting T'lyn's boundaries

3. Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?

It's certainly full of potential! Like I said, I could easily ship it in the future, and even as it is now, they clearly care about each other and have settled into a sweet friendship

Tendi/Rutherford, again, this is complicated. I don't ship it romantically, I think they should be in a QPR. So I'm gonna hesitantly go with I don't ship it

1. Why don't you ship it?

Parth Ferengi's Heart Place. They were so uncomfortable pretending to be a couple, and while you can certainly read that as "they both like each other and are nervous about the other one finding out," it very much read to me as "neither of them are interested in each other romantically, but they don't want to hurt the other by addressing that because they are so enmeshed in each other, they are partners, but discussing a romantic aspect to it could fuck it up."

2. What would have made you like it?

Again, I don't dislike it and I wouldn't be mad if they got together, but given my current reading of the characters, I think they work best as platonic partners

3. Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?

Yeah, I love their relationship! They're definitely codependent in an unhealthy way, but it's fascinating to watch

Mariner/Tendi, I have no easy opinions. I don't ship it anymore, but I used to

1. Why don't you ship it?

I was so hype for them for the first season or so, even before the show started. This was one of the first promotional images for the show

and I was immediately like "The girls are looking at each other? Lesbians💚❤️" And I drew fanart for them during the break between seasons 1 & 2, but over time my enthusiasm for them has really waned, just because we don't ever see them together by themselves. When they are together, it's part of the group, so I don't have a concrete dynamic to hold on to for them. And I can only be excited about a dynamic that only exists in my head for so long

2. What would have made you like it?

Seeing them together!

3. Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?

I love them! I just need more of them!

Boimler/Rutherford, I don't ship it

1. Why don't you ship it?

Like above, we just don't see enough of them together. I can see a version of them I would, but that version doesn't exist in the show as of yet

2. What would have made you like it?

Same as above, seeing them together.

3. Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?

We do have a bit more of them together than with Tendi/Mariner bc they hung out together while the girls went on their trip with T'lyn, so I will say little fucking freaks (complimentary) about their Mark Twain bit

Mariner/Ransom, I don't ship it

1. Why don't you ship it?

While most of the time I don't have a problem with trek ships of different ranks because most characters are pretty chill about it, they've made it clear Ransom is Mariner's direct superior, so I'm not personally comfortable shipping it. I'm also not overly fond of mentor/mentee ships, which they're starting to fall into. I don't think there's anything wrong with shipping it or anything, it's just not for me.

2. What would have made you like it?

I don't think I could. The entire structure of their relationship puts me off from reading it romantically. I guess I could like it in a fucked up watching a car crash way.

3. Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?

I really like the growing friendship they have, and they clearly have fun together, even if that fun mostly consists of pissing each other off

Daily avatrice analysis (day 5)

Oh analyzing ep 8 is going to get personal because of the coming out scene 

I’ve already decided to split Ep 8 into 2 parts because there is just too much to cover 

today i’ll mainly focus on the first half of ep 8

and I’ll talk about the rest tmr

Ep 8

we start with the beginning of the episode where the gang is reading the warrior nun journal 

got nothing deep about the scene but I do believe part of ava is this vine:

anyway moving on 

I think there are a few reasons why Ava seems so eager to proof herself here

One

As someone who was quadriplegic, she knows what it’s like to be powerless and weak, since she spent most of her life receiving help from others

Makes perfect sense she’s she will jump into action the moment she got a chance to proof to herself that she is useful 

Two

She wanted to fulfill her job/destiny as the halo bearer 

Leaning from the journal, she realized how serious this is and she is the only one that can stop it

(You know things are serious when Mary said oh shit

Third

She wanted to protect her new found family(mainly Beatrice 

“If we get rid of Duretti, we can get the OCS back together.”

Will Ep 1-5 Ava cared about the OCS?

Probably not 

This is why ep 6 is so important to Ava’s character 

She needed to see the good that OCS is doing 

And not just some high trained nuns who’s after the thing on her back

That’s why she came back to the Cat’s Cradle

To help innocent people by accepting that she IS the warrior nun now

And it’s what happening here as well

Now moving on to the actual training scene

say it with me ava silva is not only a genius but also a comedic genius

look at how precious Ava is 

her little whoo baby girl is so proud of herself

and so is Bea apparently 

love this genre of Avatrice where Bea smiling because of Ava’s smile ughhhh

Moving on to the next training scene

we can see supportive gf Beatrice

even when Ava is panicking all she did was to remain her composure and give her clear directions on how to get out 

even though she is probably worried sick on the inside as well

If avatrice have a timeline 

here is where Bea knows she definitely cares about Ava a tad bit much 

but she still trying to convince herself is platonic and she is just doing her job by taking care of Ava

I mean do friends cup each other's faces as gently as Bea did here???

Also the way Ava eyes lingers on Bea is something so personal to me

after she rushed towards Ava the first things she does is to touch her face

physical touch is definitely an Avatrice thing

and is such a vital part of their relationship because is how they communicate with each other

is them subtly asking: "hey you good?" and answering "yeah im good"

which we will see a lot more in season 2

Here we can see bea hesitates to help Ava up/touch her

feels like Bea was so worried about Ava after she cupped her face she panicked a little 

I think she is like “oh wait that's a little fruity in it”

and that's why she retracted her hand here

imo once you repressed you emotions it doesn't just go away in an instance 

it takes time to open yourself up again

which i think she did in season 2

but for now, Bea probably still views her feelings towards Ava as something she shouldn't have

Still doesn’t stop her from calming Ava down though putting her hand on her back tho

what can I say Avatrice is endgame from the beginning 

After Jillian said that she had been able to amp up the halo’s output 

notice how Bea was gonna say something?

she look almost hopeful for a second 

like she is glad they had found a solution to their problem 

truly live up to the name “the strategist of the group”(which i just decided to call her that)

btw side note

I love how Bea talks slower compared to other characters

because she really did think it though about what she is going to say

and we can see that in scenes where the gang is grouped up together to discuss something

you can tell she is always trying to find the best solution and consider all the possible angles

compared to Ava "punch first ask questions later" Silva

Avatrice is such endgame material because they fit so well

today feels like me fangirling over avatrice then an analysis but oh well

tmr we are going to get emotional and talk about possibly my favorite coming out scene in media

Proof that Blitz is in LOVE with Stolas in return (but won’t admit it and isn’t ready to yet):

• In 1x05: “Moonlight Harvest Festival”

* Stolas announced he needed the grimoire for the annual Moonlight Harvest Festival (and Blitz need it too for 15 clients waiting for “heads to roll” >>> ☠️ = 💥 🔫)

• Stolas convinced Blitz to accompany him to the event — announcing that “they (I.M.P) couldn’t do jackshit without his book anyway” — and had eventually agreed to it

* After Stolas playfully apologised to Blitz for making his clients wait he said without hesitation “oh, fuck my clients”

(Which, in my opinion, sounds more like putting his boyfriend over work. Like: 'you’re coming to support me of this thing I'm going to be the host of, right?' 'of course I am! Fuck work!', funny how situationship works 😏)

• After Millie announced that the prince was her boss’s “boyfriend” Blitz told her that he wasn’t above hitting a female in front of Joe

(BUT! He didn’t exactly deny it either and he could have said 'Ew! No! Stolas is NOT my boyfriend' etc so, call it what you want, whether it be embarrassment or something else, but I know denial when I see it 😏)

* Blitz ties to explain his relationship with Stolas — after Striker asked how he had “conned that ditzy blue blood” — and had got NERVOUS (or maybe didn’t know how to label what their relationship is) about the question:

• Blitz becomes “boyfriend activated” (LMAO) after he had learnt that Striker was trying to assassinate Stolas behind the former’s back

(Now an interesting thing here is — though he referred to Stolas as his “easiest lengthy ticket to Earth” — that even with him dead he could have continued with the grimoire without the strings attached, but no, he decided to save the Prince’s life by stopping Striker. Unless you care about someone (platonic or romantic) enough to NOT want to have them killed

• Blitz even had that “boyfriend” look (filled with insecurities) when Striker told him that Stolas treated him nothing — allegedly — more than a “plaything”

• In 1x06 “Truth Seekers”

* Blitz looked at Stolas’s demonic form in awe (like you would to a boyfriend doing something nice for you like SAVING your goddamn life 😆)

• He closed his eyes — seemingly to enjoy the affection or he was just mid-eye roll — when Stolas caressed his face (before lecturing him about how he had been caught by humans etc)

* Then again Blitz HAD just returned from his psychological torture where Stolas had caressed him during his trip 😵‍💫

• He was nervous (?) when he leaned forward towards Stolas for “rescuing him” and his crew, even initiated the French kiss furthermore

• In 1x07 “Ozzie’s”

(Part 1: Blitz’s POV)

1) Blitz was pacing back and forth like he was a nervous boyfriend for his first date (when in reality he was irritated by Stolas’s “tardiness” & didn’t want to miss out on M&M’s date night)

2) Both during and after Ozzie’ Blitz was heartbroken when Stolas hid his face from him (normally you wouldn’t care about that if you were a one-night-stand because you made an agreement to not fall in love which is the basic rule of it)

3) Blitz actually drove Stolas home, who could’ve easily just had created a portal to the Goetia mansion

* Which was actually MORE decent than anything we’ve seen Blitz do

4) The first thing that came up in Blitz’s photos him was Stolas and cuddling after sleeping together. Again, if you were just a ONS (and nothing more) why would you have something like that alongside your friends & family unless you CARE)

• In 1x08 “Queen Bee”

(Part 2: Loona’s POV)

• Blitz showed clear evidence that he was hurt from the events of “Ozzie’s” (Part 1) and hinted it without actually bringing it up publicly and pretty much drank his problems away under the table

“You believe the night I’ve had. I need this shit.” - Blitz in 1x08 hinting at his cataclysmic “date” with Stolas

• At the end of episode Blitz slurred out the names of people he’s mostly close to (outside of his daughter of course 😆) which are M&M — for obvious reasons — but also Stolas

• 2x01 “The Circus”

* N/A

• 2x02

• Blitz nervously asked Moxxie what he was going to tell Stolas (talk about husband activated) and Octavia making off with the grimoire into the human world

* Stolas becomes furious with Blitz — after he had received the phone call (again, PISSED husband activated 😆)

• Blitz actually blushed at the sight of Stolas’s human form before shaking it off

* Stolitz also argued like a normal couple would (more on of a husband level which Blitz briefly admired (if not a little shocked) him for the self-confidence which soon turned into annoyance; probably because he couldn’t manipulate the owl anymore >>> especially when it came to his missing daughter 😬)

• Blitz stilled at Stolas’s dominance and had swallowed hard by clear arousal (after being reassured / flirted with about “his performance in bed”

• After Stolas voiced his concern to Blitz about Octavia’s safety and who had reassured him — on a boyfriend / husband level 😏 — and that “she was in good hands”

* Related as a dad, himself, if Loona gone missing and or was been in danger

• 2x03 “Exes and Oohs”

• Equates Chaz’s bedroom performance in comparison to Stolas’s (okay I might be reading it a little bit too much, but whatever, I know Blitz has feelings for the Prince and it’s at the back of his mind, despite what happened at Ozzie’s 😈)

• Complains to Millie about how Chaz wasn’t even rich (hm… who ELSE do we know is insanely rich? 😉)

• 2x04 “Western Energy”

• Blitz became enraged when he found out that Stolas was kidnapped (not to mention it was bad timing because he had an appointment at the hospital for Loona’s hellbies shot)

• Blitz was the first one to have caught sight of Stolas — or at least his tailpiece — hanging off the stretcher and was deeply concerned (on a boyfriend / husband platonic level) about his condition and was surprised that he could even be hurt

• Blitz platonically sent a text message to Stolas for him to “get better soon” with a sad face at the end of it

* but had felt too guilty — not knowing that Stolas could be hurt physically due to not taking his kidnapping seriously — to respond when told he could visit him in hospital

• 2x08 “The Full Moon” (TBA)

I've spent the day dwelling on it and I've come to the conclusion that this twist is the worst writing we've ever seen on the show.

To be very clear, I'm not saying that because I can't handle Carlos looking bad or doing something wrong. I'm happy we're finally getting to see his flaws and to see him fuck up and make mistakes and (hopefully) learn from it. I've been begging for a fully fleshed out Carlos from the beginning, and we're finally getting that.

It's not even that I think the basic premise itself is a bad story. Carlos having a marriage of convenience to his best friend because he was struggling after coming out his parents and not getting the support he needed from them. Yeah, there's a meaty story there. Lots of room for character and relationship development there.

What makes it so stupid is the timing. It's opened up plotholes big enough for Carlos to drive his police cruiser through. It undoes three seasons of (often poor, I know) character development. It takes a beloved character and says everything we've told you about this character is wrong. It undermines several established relationships.

[Carlos and Iris loved each other so much and were so close they thought they could make a platonic marriage work and then when she was found after being missing and presumed dead for three years he just never went to see her? He wasn't even making sure she was doing ok by messaging Michelle semi-regularly? Yes, that actually does make him a terrible friend.] [Carlos and TK have been in a relationship for several years now, they are getting married and not only has Carlos never mentioned that he as a wife, apparently in all that time he has never mentioned his best friend at all. Does Carlos just never talk about himself ever? Does he never tell TK stories about what he did in high school? Does TK never ask? What do they talk about? What does it say about their relationship if they don't know basic information about each other?] [Season one established that Michelle and Carlos had become close friends. Then she finds Iris and what, they just stop talking to each other? She doesn't even let him know she's leaving the country for three months? Why did they stop being friends?] [Andrea and Gabriel knew he was gay, watched him marry a woman, she vanishes for three years, Carlos moves in with a man and we're supposed to believe that Andrea didn't try to talk to Carlos about any of it?] [Carlos would have been a prime suspect in Iris' disappearance, how was he allowed to investigate her case at all?] [Carlos and TK applied for a mortgage together, how did it not come up that Carlos was legally married to somebody else?] [Carlos accepted a marriage proposal knowing he was still married and didn't admit that to his loving, supportive, wonderful fiance?]

The frustrating thing is that it could have been introduced at other times in the series and actually made a decent storyline, but they left it too late. Imagine:

Season One: TK and Carlos meeting, sparks fly, they hook up, then Michelle brings Carlos to the honky tonk and introduces Carlos as her brother in law. TK, who has recently been cheated on is hurt and angry and he doesn't want Michelle's sister to go through the same thing so he tells Michelle. She thinks they make a cute couple. TK is confused, he doesn't quite believe that it's a marriage of convenience so he's wary, but Carlos slowly shows TK that he's a good guy and TK can trust him.

Season Two: Carlos and TK are in the early stages of being official boyfriends. Carlos gets a call that Michelle is going to Ecuador and can he keep an eye on Iris. TK wonders why she's asking Carlos, he reveals that iris is technically his wife. TK is pissed at him for not telling him sooner but forgives Carlos and offers his support when Carlos explains about his relationship with his parents. Or TK finds out when Carlos admits that the reason he didn't introduce him as his boyfriend to his parents is because they believe he's married to Iris.

Season Three: While dealing with the insurance after the fire and applying for a mortgage, TK discovered Carlos is married and was so furious, he broke up with him.

It doesn't matter how good a plot twist is, it needs to at least make sense. If it doesn't it make sense, it's not a good plot twist. It's bad writing to keep it in.

A Jaune post-ish

This is not the Knightfall post I was thinking of making... but I was specifically thinking about Jaune, and his emotional journey, and the things I haven't really posted about him.

If you superficially read his character arc you would see it as: Cinder killed Pyrrha and took Pyrrha from Jaune, and Cinder is single-handedly responsible for his loneliness. I don't think this holds up to scrutiny, because what's really dividing the partnership before that is the Maiden candidacy altogether:

and the final decision Pyrrha makes to push him away and stuff him in the tin can. It's a really fascinating reversal: Pyrrha's forced into the Maiden meat puppet machine - coffinlike, dead, bad - and Jaune's stuffed into the tin can weapon rocket against his will, taken aback, and he can't even help Pyrrha. He couldn't help her before, and he especially cannot now.

It completely breaks him. I think this was one of the first scenes I was really like ohhhh I LOVE you?

So... Cinder's ultimately responsible for the Fall of Beacon and Pyrrha represents that, and Pyrrha's the death of childhood, and of course he's angry at Cinder about it, that's why they're connected. But he spends time over V4-5 being angry at Qrow, too, and Ozpin, and even into V6...

Like, V5 doesn't really resolve everything, in V6 it really begins to unravel and then he's reminded why Pyrrha did what she did, which was out of his control, he couldn't help her, but it was her choice. So that was the apparent end of his emotional arc, done and Dusted. Jaune knows what he's meant for now, he just has to keep going - for what, well, that's less clear. Going forward is not the same as knowing where you're going. But he seems fine and settled, right? So then why the fuck is he framed as being alone? What are they trying to do here? His character arc resolved with Pyrrha.

Everybody else has someone. I mean, there's this shot of team JNR supporting each other after Pyrrha's passing (and the dialogue over this is working doubletime emotionally :()...

but Ren and Nora have Ren and Nora, and with recent developments, Nora has Emerald and Ren is opening up to other people. Ruby has Yang, her sister, and Oscar - who helped her with Ironwood, not Jaune - and of course she's got her partner, Weiss. Yang and Blake have each other. So who does Jaune have?

Like, his story isn't over. He mercy-killed Penny. But he's always... alone.

He lets Ren and Nora have their moment. When does Jaune get his moment? Is this really it?

Like, cool, he's the cutesy comic relief, but he's responsible for things in the story which suggest he's got more to do. Without Penny, I would've been very cynical and just assumed they didn't know what to do with him, but Pyrrha's death in the story serves manifold thematic purposes (Ozma parallels!!), it wasn't there just to give him and the others something to do. There's got to be more to this, at some point, somehow, especially relating to creating a more complex context for character death and kills in the story, like Blake and Yang with Adam, and Raven... maybe with Summer, and the previous Spring Maiden. Or someone else altogether.

But it's literally just like, Jaune who's alone in the story. Even Weiss has her family throughout the Atlas arc, her sister and her brother and her mother - she has major relationships outside of Ruby, her partner. But it seems like everybody else pairs up neatly, romantically and platonically, so what the fuck is going on with him?

It's funny, because I read someone else's arc the same way.

Nobody's really in it for her and her alone, either because she doesn't let them or they can't or won't be. Madame enslaved her, Rhodes betrayed her, Salem enslaved her, Mercury and Emerald are there for the compensation - and she continued the abusive cycle with them, Raven's a Maiden and her enemy, Penny's her enemy and is trying to reason her own beliefs, Neo's in it for the deal of killing Ruby, Watts is horrible and does not care about Cinder one bit, Tyrian doesn't care either and mocks her, Hazel cares about Emerald and Mercury, who is Cinder's partner?

Why are these two both alone? Why were both of them set up not to have anybody who's theirs?

I guess that's why they interest me. Because both of their character arcs are going somewhere, and it's going to fucking surprise both of them.

I think the narrative consequences of Pyrrha's death aren't just about Cinder isolating Jaune - really, the whole narrative isolating Jaune, the entire Ozlem and Huntsman academy structure against them - I think the disillusionment is meant to teach him something and more importantly I think Cinder's the opportunity for him not to be alone and be able to help and do something and not be turned away and fix the Ozlem cycle, because I think he's set up for it, and these are all the moving parts. He could help a Fall Maiden, just not the one he expected. He could love a Fall Maiden, just not the one he expected.

It's just absurd how much it makes sense, it's beautiful.

Hiii I finally had some time so I thought id give you my thoughts

First the character I honestly feel the most sympathy for is kate shes the only one who hasn’t actually done something wrong. Even when she accidentally told reader about her and yelena its clear that wasnt done with malicious intentions, and it must be so hard for her to be around someone she loves as much as she is. Especially because yelena dropped her the second reader came back into her life like that sucks so bad.

I am so surprised no ones been into wanda this whole time cos that woman is a catch. I wonder if peter will tell wanda that valkyrie asked about her I don’t think wanda will go for it at all but I don’t think she’s gonna notice. In fact i have a funny feeling readers gonna find out about this little crush before wanda does. Not much to say on this yet as its early days but looking forward to see how this develops.

Very proud of wanda setting boundaries by not replying to reader after shes making progress and its really great to see. The way you wrote this series is paced in such a way that the character development really gets to shine and it works brilliantly for the type of story you’re telling that is all about personal development and changing circumstances that shift your perspective on things so kudos to you. I feel like with every chapter shes making progress and its a testament to your writing :)

The twins relationship is really sweet and im glad they do the check ins not just to make sure wandas alive but just to talk that sibling bond is clearly very important to them and its nice that at least one good thing came from a very tragic incident. I think pietro is a good balance of protective and understanding at the minute its clear he’s not readers biggest fan but instead of berating wanda about it he’s supporting her which is the best thing he can do.

Wanda was not a bad wife because she couldn’t get pregnant and I don’t want to hear another word 😤. I feel so bad for her for feeling like that because it really isn’t her fault and i hope she knows that. For some people its really difficult to do and making the decision to stop trying is also incredibly difficult sometimes its just a case of wrong time like you never know miracles and luck can just come. She would be the best mom too and i don’t want to hear anyone say otherwise about that either.

And finally reader and yelena.

My first thing to say about reader specifically is what the fuck is wrong with them. Spike of pettiness so they text wanda??? Leave wanda out of it (wanda protection squad over here) but seriously it’s basically using her to make yourself feel better by essentially taking a jab at yelena it is so unbelievably petty. And im glad wanda kept the conversation brief yay boundaries. In readers defence they don’t know what wanda did but still don’t use her in this way.

Reader and yelenas make up was (as much as i hate to admit it) pretty good they talked about what bothered them and why good communication. I wonder if they’re actually going to be intimate because last time I feel like reader was hesitant.

The thing i wanted to talk about was the L bomb at the end and something yelena said that ive been saying for so long now. She doesn’t know this new reader. She knows who the reader was in the past when they were younger but they’ve both changed now and im so glad she acknowledged this cos its killing me, which leads to my second point.

The L bomb. Im not sure either of them mean it properly especially reader. From yelenas point reader is the one that got away her greatest what if. Feelings from the past resurface and thats when things get complicated because is it love now or is it the love from then that she never got to express. I’ve said it so many times but these two are not the same people and they’re slowly realising that but do these new versions love each other too? Im not so convinced.

And for reader it seems like they’re confusing platonic love or even possibly feelings of nostalgia for romantic love. They just came out a 10 year relationship now a girl from their past is offering herself up to them. Its an easy option for reader a simple choice you could call it a safe choice. Some people say love isn’t supposed to be easy some say it is im not sure which i agree with because i guess there’s points for both. To me though love isnt supposed to feel like you’ve settled for less which is how i feel about this relationship. I understand readers mindset on this an easy relationship where you won’t get hurt is safer than one of those passionate ones where you might.

This is super long so im gonna add something to a separate ask its more specific about the love thing if thats okay

I think by now we more or less agree on most things and you really have an almost perfect grasp or how everything is going to unfold.

To answer your question, about r and yelena being intimate, it was hinted at the end of chapter 11. "Then show me".

L bomb: another perspective: when i first told my partner i love her, i uh, didnt mean it the way i do now. So basically, ppl say they love someone to make the declaration, to make the decision that moment to love them, not because it was 100% what they're feeling at the moment.
