you roll your eyes at steve. “didnt i tell you to quietly stack some books while i arrange the shelves?”

steve blinks. “but youre in here.”

“itd be boring without you, too.” he says, his face open and sweet as always. his candor is still something you arent used to. theres never anything hidden within his words.

you poke steves chest. “you need to figure out what you want, buddy.”

he grabs the hand thats poked him and tugs you close. “i wanna play two truths and one lie.”

he bats his eyes at you and your stomach flutters. youre insanely close to him now, hes still holding your hand, and he now rests his other hand on the small of your back in a way that makes you shiver in the june humidity. this close, you can see all the freckles that dot across his pretty face.

“i…” your words catch in your throat, which steve smirks at. sometimes you think he does these things purposefully, that he likes seeing you blush.

you pull away, not wanting to think too deeply into things. “fine. you go first, though.”

“yes!” steve does a happy dance, fist bumps the air, and then seems to remember that youre still there. he regains his composure and clears his throat. “okay. my first kiss was interrupted by her dad walking in and seeing us, im scared of the dark, and i was obsessed with frogs when i was younger.”

youre surprised by steves choices. theyre all so wildly random and bizarre. you think for a moment, stumped. he definitely seems like the type to be caught by a father, and what little kid doesnt love frogs?

“you’re not scared of the dark?” you finally guess.

steve cheers. “no! i win! im totally afraid of the dark, im human.”

“okay, so…” you nudge him. “what was the lie?”

“oh yeah. i was actually obsessed with toads, not frogs.”

you hit his chest. “thats cheating!”

“nuh uh. theyre different species. i won, just admit it, y/n. im like, totally better then you.”

“fine, wanna play it that way?” an evil grin spreads across your face. “my turn. ive never been kissed, my dream boyfriend is spider-man, and i have a cat named mews.”

steve answers immediately, confident in his answer. “easy. you dont have a cat named mews.”

“nope!” you go back to arranging a display, secretly elated you won. you turn back to steve and wink. “my dream boyfriend is peter parker.”

“but theyre the same person—hold on,” steve seems to realize something. “does that mean no ones ever kissed you?”

“never.” you turn now and notice that your friend is seemingly frozen in place, still processing the information youve just told him. he seems genuinely surprised.

steve is speechless. “but… i just thought—you know… youre just so you and—”

“and whats that supposed to mean?” you make a face.

“nothing bad, obviously! i just mean. well, c’mon. you gotta know what i mean—” steve is stumbling over his words with a panicked look on his face and you feel bad. you know what he meant, but you like watching him squirm.

you start to laugh. “relax, steve. im just messing with you.”

though in a way, it does kind of hurt. no ones ever shown an interest in you, but at least steve seems surprised by it. if the king of hearts was surprised by your pathetic love life, then maybe there was hope for you yet.

he exhales and rests a hand over his chest. “fuck, you gotta stop doing that.”

you smile but dont say anything else. the display still needs to be set, so you let the conversation die down and focus on it once more. youre not necessarily insecure about not having a first kiss or even a boyfriend, but it’s not your favorite topic, either.

then, after a few minutes of silence, just as you think steve has moved on, he of course has to speak.

“what if i kissed my fingers and then pressed them against your mouth—”

Youd been very antsy and rowdy today, moving and going all over the place, loki would find it hard to keep your attention on one thing when it came to days like this, it felt as though you needed a more one on one interactive day between yourself and him.

He knew your little mind was just all over the place and while it wasn’t easy, he was happy to get through the day with you.

You were settled in the living room, a movie on the television and your shape sorter, placing the green cube in the square hole you look up at him as he takes your hands into his own and shakes them in the air, cheering, “good job munchkin! How bout this one? Can you tell daddy the color and shape of this one?” Holding out the new shape you look at it for a moment, than to him, the tv and back to him.

“Mmm, no, I don’t wanna do this no more, it cane out more as a whine than a statement.

You felt scattered. Your mind and thoughts everywhere, that is until you got the fantastic idea to play hide and seek, it didn’t take too much effort to hide so of course itd be perfect.

Taking his hands pulling with all your might, he starts to give in bringing a smile to your face until he went limp and flopped down bringing you down into his arms, tickling your sides.

Writhing and consumed by giggles he rolled over scattering silly kisses across your face.

Finally stopping his tickle attack he helps you sit up.

“Now what is it you wanted to do?”

He helps you up and places his hands on his hips waiting.

No one ever saw him like this, only you, hes caring and encouraging just for you.

“ can we hide an seek!” You request cheerfully.

Crossing his arms pretending to to think he taps his foot a couple times, “I don’t see why not, do you want me to be the counter first?”

Nodding, you run off as soon as he closes his eyes, counting he can hear you running about the floor, your giggles and a door shutting.

“Ready or not hear I come!”

During hide and seek he always tried to make it look like he had no idea where you where but truth is you hid in the same three spots, hed search the rooms vaguely, looking for your slippers in his peripheral vision, after finding them he would slowly center in while looking around closer and closer to your spot.

Your favorite spot was behind the curtains because they would flow so effortlessly around you, he quickly pulled the curtain to the side jumping forward, the excitement quickly rushing from him in a cold shock.

While yes he looked in your normal spits he also checked others aswell.

He picked up his pace checking both high and low, he couldn’t find you anywhere.

Staying as quiet as you could you peered down from the false ceiling loft, you’ve lived here longer than he has and he had never found the lofted space, it honestly looked like a drop ceiling so he had suspected nothing, the best part about this spot is you could basically watch him when he walked, well more rushed down the hall im search of you, biting your stuffy to stifle your giggles, you had plenty of entertainment to keep you occupied.

“Friday, where’s (y/n)?” He sounded urgent, terrified you were somehow in danger.

“Tiny is on your communal floor with you” Friday returns.

He head back over to the kitchen area to check cupboards again, while peeking over the small lip over the hall way your paci clamped tightly in your hand, you go to sit back quickly to stifle more giggles, while doing so your paci caught the edge and tugged itself out of your grasp.

The clatter of your paci falling and hitting the hard wood floor caught his attention, zeroing in what area you must be in.

Leaning as far back into the darkness of the loft space as possible you clamp both hands over your mouth, silently writhing in humorous desperation to laugh.

“Its not nice to throw stuff pumpkin, can you come out for me please? You’ve won baby please come out”

You for the last time lean over the opening, you can see him peering into your playroom scanning it for your presence.

“Boo” you whisper loud enough for him to hear, his head shoots up to look at you peeking down from what he thought was just an uncovered vent over a bookshelf in the hall.

“What in the world are you doing up there bubs?”

“Was hiding, was best spot” you cheer while carefully climbing down, he pulls you into his arms and squeezes you tight, scatting kisses to the side of your head, “I thought I lost you and you were hurt you sneaky rascal, don’t scare me like that again you silly goose”

well dick grayson is still an immensely popular character and dickie IS her name in published comics in modern day, so though it's an odd name i see no reason to ever change it. its socially acceptable enough to continue publishing her name in childrens books so it seems fine to me

personally i would not change it, i would tell people to get over it. sometimes names are funny but "dickie" was chosen by romano scarpa for her english publications afaik and it feels disrespectful to change it

im also very used to the name so itd be really difficult for me to ever fully think of her as anything english other than dickie. she has a lot of cute names outside of english (poppi in finnish, chris in french, sofi in swedish) so anyone could use one of those if they really really dont like calling her dickie

i do like chris cuz it plays on her having a masculine name (in her first comic theres a scene where scrooge asks "why does your grandma call you dickie?" and she responds "cuz dixie was too cornpone!" or something like that. anyway thatd be easy to turn into chris/christina or something)

ALL THIS to say i think like when he was younger, fresh in the military, needing a way to stay awake he would use coke for that and it just turned into very frequent, regular use of cocaine to keep him awake and also just bc he Likes it hes an adrenaline junkie. he likes the confidence boost coke brings. but people like macmillan wouldnt like that bc he would See his potential and would wean him off a more frequent use and i think nowadays price would be like. really embarrassed by this past issue of his bc it shows a lack of control that he, like, would hate for others to see. but he will still enjoy coke if someone has some to share. and its a cycle for him, do coke, get anxious on top of his Already pretty high anxiety (i think he just lives with a constant sense of doom), smoke weed to try to calm himself. sometimes weed makes him paranoid too but. well. deal with the cards he is handed.

GHOST is like. oh my god.. his feelings about drugs.. itd be easy to say hes anti drug bc of his upbringing but i just dont think hed skew that way. i think it would show more in his, like, feeling of superiority over "addicts." bc hes functional and holding down a job and hes not "addicted" to anything esp not "bad drugs" like heroin. i think esp downers he looks down on (except weed bc he likes weed so that makes it okay). of course hes doing coke w price.

and uh speaking of downers soap in his og journal mentions really liking oxys and i could still see newsoap being into like prescription drugs. bc i think hed be more anxious about like being Caught and being kicked out than price and ghost bc price and ghost have. like. safety nets of people looking out for them. and people whose piss they can use and soap wouldnt trust others to be clean like that. because of who he is around. oxys, xanax (bc he probably actually does need xanax,), and mayb adderall. if hes not already prescribed adderall. it would be cute if he had undiagnosed adhd and he keeps taking adderall hes bought off someone else like "yeah idk i feel more focused"

gaz is like.. a super neutral party in my head. his drug usage is very social by nature, if its around him and its offered to him he will try it. however hes also very like, strict about his usage like he will do a bump of coke ONCE he will smoke ONE blunt because he doesnt really super care to be high. esp weed. sometimes weed lasts too long for him and it starts to get on his nerves. his biggest vice is probably just normal smoking, either from vaping or regular cigarettes, but he isnt like stressed about it. i mean hes around price all the time dude is huffing cigars like he'll die without them so even if he was worried about lung cancer or even just lung capacity he wouldnt stop smoking.

as for the rest of sas i think the only person regularly doing drugs is otter. meth bc its cheaper. thorne WOULD NOT bc hed be an antidrug type but i think also really like is not an asshole about it hes not giving anyone any speeches unless they ask for one. charly doesnt care much either way but she wont do any hard drugs.
