alright, i don't think we have time for Shazam! tonight, but i wanna ride the James Wan high after Aquaman still so. since i haven't actually seen any of those movies, certainly not in their entirety (i've maybe seen a scene or two on TV at some point, and i've seen the spoof in one of the Scary Movie movies like over a decade ago.), let's watch Saw (2004). i don't know literally anything about it other than the fact that Jigsaw is a character and he sets up traps or something. the bestie loves it so i don't expect it to be anything other than phenomenal and i entirely trust James Wan at this point so, let's do this. now seated for Saw (2004).

This bad boy was started on the third of November, and finished on the seventh. In total, there are thirty panels (all of which were drawn separately).

A good chunk of N's dialogue near the end came to me after I did some improv to figure out what he should say. I have since dubbed it "N's Failure Monologue."

I can't stop thinking about how emotional Ted got during his little speech about his friend who had to watch the Super Bowl alone twice. And how he should have been there. It's been 25 years since he didn't watch football with his friend, and he gets upset when he talks about it. Surely there is more to it than what we're lead to believe by the silly comparison. His body language and way of talking (and the background music) reminds me of the scene in season 2 episode 1: Goodbye Earl when he talks about the dog that he took care of when he was younger. Go watch that scene and then go back and watch the scene from the latest episode from the moment he says "'Cause I wasn't there. 'Cause I "didn't care."" And then note when the music starts when he says : "I should've supported him." The way he's looking down, not meeting anyone's eyes. I don't think he's really talking to the team at that point, he's talking to himself.

I want to know what Ted realised as he was telling that story, because his mood changes, or he lets his mask fall, I don't really know. But you can see the change in the way he looks at the people in the room, and how he gets more and more emotional. To the point where he's not even really looking at the other people in the room. You cannot convince me that is a man who is simply upset about not watching two Super Bowls with a friend 25 years ago.

Flint's sailing choices are 10x sexier if you have spent even a little bit of time working on a historic boat of any kind like i worked on a Very Easy To Sail 1920s schooner and trying to pull any of his maneuvers in that would have been far beyond any of the crew or our captain LET ALONE on an old square-rigger which is 10000000x more difficult to pilot and he is THROWING her into the wind HEAVING on the wheel it took literally dozens of people to raise our mainsails IN THE HARBOR and he is putting the t'gallants up at TOP SPEED while his other sails are NOT MADE OFF insane man

well, that's a bummer. so, i forgot Justice League came out before Aquaman bc i was just skipping Justice League theatrical cut because i had no need or desire to see that (maybe after i'm done with this DCEU rewatch and am in a mood to torture myself) and i forgot that i was supposed to watch Zack Snyder's Justice League in the place of that because even though it released later that's where it was supposed to go in the timeline and i started Aquaman and i got 30 minutes into it when they made a reference to Justice League that i realized i needed to watch Zack Snyder's Justice League before it. this has literally never happened to me (well, except for the time with Nausicaä but that's because i was looking at the wrong list, i was still following the right order) because i'm usually extremely meticulous about making sure i do this shit in order but i guess there's got to be a first for every fucking thing. so. now seated for a fucking 4 hour movie. i know Snyder expects you to watch this in two settings so i'm going to get some food after that midway point he talked about but alright. now fucking seated for Zack Snyder's Justice League. let's do this.
