"It's not worth it" - Jinyoung
Tumblr media
You knew this would happen. You and Jinyoung had recently announced your relationship to the GOT7 boys. Part of the reason you had kept it quiet early on was because you knew there would be teasing. You could have also predicted that BamBam and Jackson were going to be the main perpetrators.
You were out for a group dinner for the first time since they found out and the teasing started immediately. You honestly weren't too bothered by it, but you noticed Jinyoung's clenched jaw as he glared at the members who were talking. You took his hand under the table and gave it a little squeeze, trying to silently tell him to let it go.
Once the food came out, things quietened down for a moment.
"Don't let them get to you," you whispered to Jinyoung.
He just nodded in acknowledgment, but you knew he hadn't really taken your comment to heart.
As you finished eating, you took Jinyoung's hand again and shot him a little smile.
"Ah, look at you two all loved up," BamBam started again.
"Cut back on the PDA though," Jackson added.
You rolled your eyes at the comment, but once again Jinyoung couldn't let it slide.
"We looked at each other. How is that PDA?"
"Relax, Jinyoung-ie," Jackson told him, before turning to you. "Are you sure about him? He's a bit uptight!"
You bit your lip to keep yourself from chuckling and further annoying your boyfriend.
Then, you jumped slightly as Jinyoung brought his hand down on the table.
"Jinyoung!" you scolded.
"What was the one thing I asked of you, Jackson?" he snapped, ignoring your interjection.
Jackson stared blankly at Jinyoung.
"All I said was don't tease Y/n," he continued. "You can wind me up all you like but when she's around, you knock it off."
"But she's our friend too," Jackson pointed out.
"Yeah, she's used to us, she knows what we're like," BamBam added.
You were about to agree with them, when Jinyoung  spoke again.
"I'm crazy about Y/n, ok? The last thing I want is you idiots scaring her off."
"Jinyoung-ie, that's so sweet," you said, your voice now softer, "And I'm very pleased you want me to stick around, but the boys are right, I've known them for long enough that I expected this. A little teasing among friends isn't going to make me leave."
"Ok, but-"
"No, it's not worth it. I want to be with you, and Jackson and BamBam being littles shits isn't going to change that."
Jinyoung couldn't help but smile and chuckle as the troublemakers complained at your choice of words. Smiling back, you leant in and pecked a soft kiss to his lips.
It surprised you somewhat when the resulting 'Ew' came from Yugyeom.
"Don't you start," you told him with a smile, before resting your head on Jinyoung's shoulder while you waited for desert.

Tumblr media
1- Sneak in to Visit
The sun began its slow descent, painting the distant horizon in fire and gold, as though the trees on the mountains had erupted with flames. You watched the colors shift and change as you rested your back against the rough rocks that make up the walls of the castle you’ve sworn to protect.
The metal armor adorning your body kept you warm from the chilling breeze that stirs the trees, making them dance alone within the field below you. The grounds of the castle roll gently downhill into a field and garden away from the balcony you currently rest under. You were always envious of his view, despite the fact you sneak in and are able to enjoy it yourself very often. Thinking of your secret path, you glance one last time at the horizon, deciding that the lowering sun had dimmed enough to allow you to steal away up the side of the wall.
You stand, double-checking that all of your armor and weapons are properly secured to your body before turning to face the wall. The bricks were firmly secured together, but certain bricks were not properly flush or were beginning to chip, giving you perfect foot and handholds to support your travels up its edge. Months of practice had made this climb easier and easier, so now it was no time at all before you were lifting yourself over the balcony railing, slipping down gently onto the marble outcropping that led to the glass doors into the Prince’s room.
Through the doors, you could see a fire gently crackling and flickering within the giant hearth that Jinyoung loved so much. Unsurprisingly, settled deep into one of the chairs encircling the fire, was your prince, his nose pressed into a book, his legs tucked up beneath him as though he could make himself small enough to actually enter the world in which he was engrossed. Just the sight of him brought a bright smile to your face, releasing the tensions of the day full of training and drilling for the protection of the kingdom. Nothing could make all of that pain and stress worth it as much as seeing the man before you.
Slowly, so as not to disturb him, you inch to the door, sliding open the glass doors, and slipping into the room to make your way closer to his gorgeous red and gold armchair that he so favored. Finally, when you placed your hand down on the arm of the chair as though you were making him aware of your presence, he turns his warm brown eyes up to meet your face, a gentle look of surprise parting his pink lips and flushing his detailed cheeks in a way that set your heart aflutter.
“Hello, my prince.” You whisper, leaning down to press a brushing kiss against one rose-tainted cheek. Jinyoung reaches up, fingers snagging behind your head to pull you down for a proper kiss, his lips grazing yours like snow drifting against the wind during the first snow, as though he was teasing you with his presence more than allowing either of you to enjoy it fully.
That was a change that had grown over time; in the beginning, you were both so afraid of not getting time together, not being able to be together, that you would waste no time, pressing together your lips and bodies as close as you could manage, sure you would run out of chances to hold each other that way. However, as time went on, you began to see the ways in which the small, subtle, simple touches and intimacies brought forth sweeter emotions than rushing through and feeling all at once. You were glad now to be able to spend moments like this; barely touching and yet feeling more than anyone else could make you feel, seeing everything the world had to offer and knowing you could take it whenever you wanted, but being secure enough to let it come to you.
You pull away from the man, who tilts his head up as though he’s chasing after you, before he settles back into his chair, lifting the book that he had rested on his lap. He reaches to a nearby table to grab a small bookmark, sliding it between two pages carefully, before setting the book down on the table.
You grab his hands, lifting him from his seat to spin the two of you around and pull him into your lap back into the cushioned chair. He chuckles at your actions, resting a hand against your collarbone as he shifts to find a comfortable position on your armored lap.
“I know these are for keeping you safe and all, but they really could have spent a little extra into making these more comfortable, couldn’t they?” He jokes, flicking the breastplate that separated your bodies from each other.
You laugh along, taking his hand and rubbing your thumb across his knuckles, raising them to press your lips against them as well.
“Well, once you’re king, you have all the power in the world to make that change to our uniform. For now, we must suffer in silence, lest we be found out and whisked apart.” You lean in to whisper the last sentence, letting your breath feather across his ear and neck, sending a shiver down his spine that has him pressing harder against your body.
“I would never let them keep me from you. Come hell or high water, I would never be separated from you – let them try.” This wasn’t the first time he had said similar sentiments, and it brought joy to you hearing it every time. You felt the same way, but to know that your prince would do anything to keep you together – your heart beats wildly at the thought.
You pull Jinyoung down closer to you, though you doubt it’s very possible to do that, and lean your face close to him, your nose brushing his intimately as you look down into his eyes.
“I share your sentiments, Prince. I promise to you, that my oath to you and your family is not only one as a soldier, as a knight, as a guard, but as a lover, as a human, as a simple servant under an idol. My devotion to you will never waver and I will not let anything but death pull me from your side. No matter what else I must give up, no matter who I may have to become or kill, I will be by your side, protecting you and yours, until Lady Death comes to bring me across to the otherworld.”
Jinyoung’s eyes shimmer with tears as he presses his forehead against yours, his hands coming to cup your cheeks.
“And I you, my love.” He whispers, finally press your lips together properly, pulling your bodies as close as possible. He holds you close and you let yourself sink into the sensation of holding the one you swear your life to, letting life carry you where it will.
2- Save Him from Unworthy Suitors
The worst part about being in love with the Prince was that he was destined to be put on dates with others constantly in the hopes of making relations with other kingdoms to keep the country safe from the neighboring lands. Most of the lands got along well enough, so there wasn’t a lot of fighting anyway, but Jinyoung’s parents were always trying to set up the next power couple of the continent.
Many times, you were sent out as a guard for the dates, if they were off castle grounds, which meant that you had to sit and watch while someone tried to woo Jinyoung, only to be met with polite refusal and friendship. Most of those who were on these dates felt the same way and had their own lovers back home in their kingdoms. They played along well as though they enjoyed the date, but it was only out of friendship and political acceptance.
However, on occasion, a date was set up between the young prince and someone who truly wished to catch his fancy. Most were amicable and, while often pushy and intense in trying to prove their worth to Jinyoung, were quick to accept Jinyoung’s refusal at the end of the date.
One day, however, there was a young male suitor who refused to take no for an answer. After one date had gone over without any hassle, Jinyoung had gone to his chambers that night with you and told you that he felt alright about the date, and that nothing would come of it, as per usual. Unfortunately for you both, the young man was infatuated with Jinyoung and had not accepted the refusal after only one shot. He had gone to the Queen after the date and explained in detail how he was sure another date would be enough to win over her son, and the Queen had quickly agreed, growing worried that Jinyoung would end up alone until he became King, which the Queen didn’t want to happen. The Queen wanted only for her son to be happy with a person to cherish him; unaware was she of the person warming her sons bed that very night.
Another date was scheduled and prepared for the two men, and for once, you were not scheduled to chaperon the excursion. That, however, was not going to stop you from riding along with them.
The men were scheduled to ride down a ways through the woods just outside of the castle, to a small lake area to have a picnic. Jinyoung told you about the trip, knowing there was no way he could stop you (not that he wanted to) and it would be easier to hide your spying if you didn’t have to track them too closely.
So on the morning of the day, you waiting until just after the other guards had followed after the prince and his suitor before slipping onto a horse of your own and tracing their path. You knew the way to the lake, as it was a common spot for you and the prince to also run off for little getaways together, making you all the more annoyed that the Queen had planned such a personal trip for the prince, despite his assertion that he had no interest in suitors.
Not long down the pathway through the rustling leaves, wandering along the sunlight dappled trail, you spot the edge of the clearing surrounding the lake, so you pull your horse off the path and hobble it to a tree. You sneak up to the edge of the treeline to look out onto the group setting up a picnic beside the water – blanket and food spread out in the attempt at fashion simply seeing cheesy to your untrained eye. You had spent years in the castle, but you didn’t understand the need to always seem to fancy and rich. It was something Jinyoung claimed to love about you; you didn’t let the glitz, glam, and politics of the castle change who you really were at your core.
You decided to rest yourself on a fallen log, knowing that you would likely be here for a while watching.
However, not long after the picnic had been set out and the food had been eaten, the man had waved off the guards, asking them for privacy between the two. The guards had looked at each other, unsure what to do, but eventually shrugged and wandered off into the treeline, barely missing your seated figure.
You watched closely, eyebrows furrowed at the odd behavior of the young man now reaching his hand out to place it against Jinyoung’s arm. You lean forward in your seat, feeling your body heat as you realize that Jinyoung is fidgeting, looking quite uncomfortable at the situation at hand. Nothing had happened yet, but you knew Jinyoung’s moods better than anyone, and could read the emotions on his face even from yards away. Jinyoung was not happy.
Thinking quickly on your feet, you sneaked back to your horse, untying it from the tree, leading it back onto the road. You slip into the saddle, quickly kicking the horse into a canter to round the final bend and reach the lake on which the men were sitting.
The men both startled, turning to face you as they hear you call out for the Prince, reining your horse in just in time to spray sand against the young man who finally pulls away from Jinyoung to wipe his shirt and face.
“I’m sorry to disturb you, Your Highness, but I must request that you come with me at once. There is an urgent matter back at the castle that requires your immediate attention, and I was instructed to come collect you quickly without any delay. If I might entreat you to climb upon my horse, I can get us back to the castle quickly.” You reach a hand down, doing your best to keep your face straight and serious as Jinyoung looks up at you with bewilderment, which fades quickly into barely hidden amusement.
“Of course, my Champion.” He raises to his feet, moving to take your hand, when he’s grabbed by the man still seated directly behind him, looking at him with confusion and annoyance.
“Why don’t you wait, Your Highness? I will come back with you as soon as we collect the guards and our things.” The young suitor gives a harsh look at you over Jinyoungs shoulder, before tugging on Jinyoung’s arm.
Jinyoung tugs his arm away, a feigned smile resting upon his lips as he steps ever closer to your patiently waiting horse. “No, I’m afraid this sounds much too urgent to wait even an extra moment. I shall see you back within the castle.” He turns without a second of hesitation, taking your arm and using the momentum of your assistance to pull himself onto the horse behind you, as he has done a million times.
He wraps his arms around your waist, burying his face into your back as you canter back the way you came, heading for the castle as though your errand was real. About halfway back to the castle, Jinyoung whispers out a soft “thank you” that you can barely make out against the wind and you relax, letting a hand rest against his fists balled against your stomach.
“Any time, my love.”
3- Flex your Strengths
The only time that you find joy other than being beside Jinyoung is when you’re in the training field. The guards all spent at least a handful of hours a day working in the field, ensuring that they keep their skills sharp and their muscles hard. You worked as a guide to the youth whenever possible; young pupils hoping to be guards and warriors were always trying to prove themselves in the field, but they always need a mentor to help them learn the tricks of the blade.
On warm summer days when there is nothing exciting happening in the castle, you often toil away your hours with a new pupil, a practice sword, and a sparing partner. Today was no exception.
You wiped away a layer of sweat threatening to drip into your eyes and blind you, as you roll out your sword arm. You had just bested yet another guard in a sparing match – you weren’t the most skilled warrior, but you had enough knowledge and skill to make you one of the top guards, tasked with protecting the royal family.
A new challenger steps up to the ring, groups of young and experienced fighters watching excitedly as the new man makes a show of stretching and swinging his sword, as though he could intimidate you into backing down or losing. Instead of bothering to “worry” about his theatrics, you continue shaking and stretching out your body, glancing over the crowd as you do so. You stutter in your stance for only a second as you spot a familiar face a few paces back from the edge of the crowd, a guard you’ve met several times standing beside them with a hand on their sword.
Jinyoung had come to see you practice. He didn’t often do this – he was the anxious one in whatever this was, always afraid of being spotted and questioned by someone who has no business in his. However, you were completely the opposite, ready to speak up about your love the moment he opens himself up to the idea. But here he was, standing with his arms crossed, a beautiful blue top tucked into tight dark trousers, his hair lightly ruffled by the soft wind blowing through the training field. He smiles softly, ducking his head slightly, almost impossible to see, if you weren’t in tune with every small movement of his body.
You smiled back, quickly turning back to your opponent as you both get into a fighting stance, preparing to spar. Both of you were wearing the standard armor and carrying wooden practice swords, but you could tell simply from the way he held himself that your opponent thought he had already won, simply from looking at you.
Obviously a newbie, then.
Someone to the side of the ring calls out the beginning of the match and the two of you begin circling each other, watching the way the other moves.
Seemingly on a whim, the man lunges forward, striking out with his sword. You step back, dodging the attack and sliding to the side, trying to pull the man off balance. He simply backs up, eyeing you and smirking, like he knows something that you don’t. You doubt it, most men who give you that look simply think that you’re afraid and running. No, you’re only bidding your time, looking for your chance to strike.
You circle the man again, watching for that telltale flinch of muscles before he lunges that you noticed last time. Finally you see it, only a millisecond before the man lunches again, this time attempting to rain down strike after strike. Instead, you block and dodge to barrage of blows, twisting and sliding your blade along his, redirecting him away from you every time. You see the beginnings of anger rising in the man; his face twisting slowly into a snarl, his hands tightening around the wooden hilt of the practice sword, his arms trembling from withheld rage. As his anger wells to a final explosion of aggression, he pulled his sword back, feinting a withdrawal before swinging his sword as hard as he could, aiming for your head.
You see this coming, however, and step to the side calmly, raising your sword with both hands to slash it across the mans side, effectively landing a “killing blow” that has the man grasping his side, dropping his sword in the process. You place your blade against the back of his neck, pulling it across it to simulate effecting a definitely killing blow to ensure your “win” in the fight.
The man growls up at you, moving to stand but you have already stepped away, being swept up by the crowd, who pats you on the back, calling out praise to you.
Another guard approaches, handing you a small letter folded up. You open it, seeing a familiar script dancing across the page with only two words written on it.
Visit later.
You glanced up to look around for the man responsible for your short letter, but he had disappeared.
You smiled and tucked the letter into the chestplate of your armor, beside your heart.
Who were you to say no to his request?
4- Show your Love
When you got off of practice that day, you went down to the market to get a small bouquet of flowers. You got his favorite, pink dahlias, which you thought fit him very well. In your kingdom, dahlia’s represented kindness and grace, something that you felt perfectly encapsulated the prince. He was equal parts of princely charm and empathetic sweetness, caring about all that he comes into contact with.
You take the flowers with you up to his room, sneaking through the corridors of the castle, since climbing the wall would surely crush the sweet petals of the fragrant plant you hold close to your body.
Finally making it to the doorway to his chambers, you look both ways before quickly opening the door and ducking inside. Last thing you needed was some random royal to see you slipping into the prince’s room with a bouquet of flowers and a childish grin on your face. Jinyoung wasn’t ready to go public, so you would keep it quiet for now. As long as you still got to be with him.
As you close the door quietly, you turn to find the prince shirtless, his pants being buttoned up by his chambermaid. You smile at the sudden look of surprise on the woman’s face – Jinyoung hadn’t seen you yet because his back was turned, but the woman could see you clearly.
You lift a finger to your lips, signaling her to keep quiet, and she quickly ducks her head back to securing the princes clothes for the afternoon. As she rises to grab the shirt for Jinyoung, you creep forward, wrapping your arms around his middle as you reach him, twirling him into the air.
He yelps, hands coming down to grab your arms, attempting to twist his body to face you. He knows instantly who it is that’s holding him, due to the flowers, the armor, and your familiar scent that has begun to wrap around him, sending his brain into a frenzy.
You can see he’s blushing, from the way his ears are blazing red under his hair and he’s trying to duck his face away from your gaze.
You drop him back onto the ground, letting your hands graze across his bare skin as you pull away, relishing in the way he shivers at your touch before he’s whipping around to face you.
“You scared the living daylights out of me.” He’s pouting, his eyebrows furrowed and nose scrunched up, but you could see the slight twitch in his lips fighting to smile.
“You really should be more on your toes. I could have been anyone coming in here. You should never let your guard down, my prince. It could put you in danger.” You lean in as you talk, ghosting your nose over his, causing him to tilt his head up, searching your lips. You pull back before he can make contact and now he’s pouting for real.
“If you weren’t such a menace, my chambermaid here would have at least given a scream of warning if it were anyone of danger. Unfortunately, she seems to like you a little more than she likes me.” He rolls his eyes, sending a playful wink back at the chambermaid who has her face half hidden behind her hand, holding the shirt in the other.
“Nonsense, no one could ever be immune to your boyish charms.” You press a kiss to the mans temple before holding out the flowers for him to see. “Even my measly pay gets wasted away on flowers for you, who needs for nothing, simply so that I can see that beautiful smile you grant me.” Said smile is already splitting his face into pure joy at seeing the circular globes of pink sprouting from your fist. He bends down to give the flowers a deep scent, pulling back with eyes closed and face softened with joy.
“No one knows exactly what I need quite like you, my dearest protector.” He jokes, turning back to the chambermaid so she can slip his shirt on, hiding his golden skin and gentle curves with a linen top of off-white cloth that looks insanely soft and comfortable.
After she secures the fabric to his body, she bows, grabs his day-clothes that need washing, and scampers from the room. She wasn’t likely to say anything – she’s the only one in the castle who knows about your relationship and has been aware of it for two years now. She had walked in on you two cuddling after you had accidentally fallen asleep one late night; she had been sworn to secrecy and had proven tight-lipped since.
You hand the flowers over to your lover before grabbing his hands, pulling him lightly over towards his bed, curtains pulled back to allow in the failing light of the evening through the windows to shine across the silken sheets you two had spent many nights entangled in together.
“What has gotten into you today, my love?” Jinyoung asks, following along pliantly, always willing to follow your lead and whims. He so rarely was able to let go, trust another, and go with the flow – only when he was with you was he able to let down his guard and truly feel.
“Nothing in particular, my prince, only my love for you.” You settle onto the edge of the bed, pulling him to stand between your legs, wrapping your arms around his waist to hold him close. He drapes his arms over your shoulders, looking down at where you sit before him with a look like sheer reverence across his features.
“I should continue to fan that fire if it leads to moments like this.” He whispers, leaning forward to press a kiss against your lips. You hold him close, relishing in the feeling of his lips pressed to yours, his tongue flicking against your own, his hands running up and down your shoulders and back, as though he couldn’t get enough of touching you.
“I would not complain.” You whisper back when he finally pulls away, a look of thought and concentration passing behind his eyes. “What is on your mind, my prince? I can see that something is troubling you.”
Jinyoung only shakes his head, smiling down at you with love and care.
“Nothing is troubling me, my love. It is only that, I have recently been thinking about how we keep our love a secret. I know that I have said that I do not wish for them to take you from me, while I still only have the power of a prince. However, the many times in which my mother tries to push me into new courtships is growing, and she has expressed fear that I will not be wed before taking the throne. I know that day is many moons off, but I begin to wonder whether it isn’t time that we finally tell the world about our love.” His face begins to glow with the idea, his voice rising with each word as though breathing life into the idea has sparked a flame that will not flicker, fed a stream that will not stop raging.
You reach a hand up, cradling his cheek as you grin back up at the prince. You had voiced several times your undying love for him, and him back to you, but you had resolved to spend many more days hidden away, sneaking your love, until he was king and no one could stop the two of you.
You had believed that his mother would be understanding – she had tried so many times to find a suitor for her son that you were sure she would be happy with nearly anyone that her son had picked to carry his heart. Jinyoung, on the other hand, was skeptical and afraid, after hearing the many mean things that other royals had said about other royals who had married or paired up “below their rank”.
To finally hear Jinyoung say that he was ready to tell the world, haters be damned, had your heart soaring out of your chest, feeling as though you couldn’t breathe with the happiness coursing through your veins.
You pull Jinyoung down on top of you, peppering his face with kisses, almost definitely crushing the beautiful flowers that you had bought earlier in the day. Nothing else mattered than being close to the prince now, showing him exactly how much his words and feelings meant to you. You knew that some part of him was already aware of your passion for him – you had shared it plenty of times in a number of ways, but you needed to reaffirm it now, in the light of the future of your relationship.
Nothing could stop you two now.
5- Tell the World
Days later, you followed Jinyoung into the throne room where his parents are seated on their respective thrones. You had interacted with both the King and Queen in the past, but not in this capacity and not when you were about to convince them into letting you have their sons hand in marriage.
Jinyoung stops before the dais on which they’re sitting and you stop beside him, kneeling and bowing to them before standing straight. You would show deference, but not weakness.
Jinyoung smiled up at his parents, who both smiled back down at their son. They truly loved him; there wasn’t anything they wouldn’t do for him. You had no doubt that they would grant his wish, if he truly meant what he said.
He takes a deep breath before reaching his hand out to grasp yours. You freeze, waiting for him to explain to his parents why you were both standing before them today.
“Mom, Dad, I know that you’ve both been working very hard to find me a suitor from one of the four kingdoms who is worthy of my heart. I don’t doubt that you have worked tirelessly and did your best work to find people who are really suitable for me and who would make amazing additions to our kingdom, as they would rule beside me. However, unfortunately, the person who won and deserves my heart was in our kingdom this entire time.” He tilts his head to smile at you, his hand gripping yours tightly as if to say he would never let go. “I know that a prince and a guard sounds impossible, and I know many other Kings and Queens would never let their son marry a guard, who many deem as below us. Unlike those men and women, I know that our kingdom values all life, all people, regardless of status and blood. As long as a person is good and kind, is loving and caring, shows strength and courage, defends what they believe in and does not waver in the face of adversity or temptation, that they are worthy of the best that life has to offer. I have met no other who fits those tenants in the way that (y/n) does. They have proven loyal and kind, shown mercy and strength, done all they can to protect their loved ones while never giving up on their own beliefs. They are the only person fit to rule beside me over this kingdom when I one day ascent the throne.”
Your eyes mist over at the heavy praise you’re receiving from the love of your life. Jinyoung was always ready to share with you how much you meant to him, but you had never heard him share such sentiments to anyone else – it was nice to hear when you were alone, but something else entirely when he was telling his parents and the court guards all about his feelings. You could see his mother dab at her eyes, tearing up just as you expected her to; she truly loved and wanted the best for her son.
The one you couldn’t read was the King. He was sitting, looking over the two of you with a neutral face, as though he hadn’t heard anything that the Prince had just said. He leans forward in his seat, resting his elbows against his knees and entwining his fingers together. He hums softly, a low rumble in the otherwise quiet room, as though he’s thinking or warming up his voice for whatever he’s about to say.
The Queen is looking over at the King now, a smile on her face, as though she knows something you don’t which relaxes your shoulders just the slightest bit. If the Queen wasn’t worried, why should you be?
As though your thought sparked something in the King, he looks over at you, reaching a hand out to gesture in your direction as he finally speaks. “So, what do you have to say to all this, my knight?”
You take a deep breath, glancing over at Jinyoung, who is looking at you with those eyes that you had fallen in love with many moons again, and which always seemed to bring you to your knees before him, time and again.
“I have been raised within the walls of this kingdom, under the rule of you both, and under that philosophy and expectations that comes from this society. I have raised through the ranks to prove my worth as a guard to the royal family, to protecting those values and the people of this kingdom with my life. I have spent countless hours training to be the best person I can be, for myself, for my kingdom, for my King, but most importantly, for my Prince, who I have sworn my life to – both out loud and in my heart a million times over. I cannot swear that I have reached the point to claim those same things about myself that Jinyoung sees within me. However, I continue to try everyday to prove him right and to be worthy of him by my side. I don’t presume to be in a place to tell you how to react to our love for each other. I don’t wish to sway you by telling you lies or pressuring you with threats, or any of the things that would instantly lose me the right to stand here before you asking for Jinyoung’s hand. However, I know that you are a fair king. You look to your people to hear their stories and learn their worries, and you care about what will bring true joy back into the kingdom. I stand here today to tell you that nothing would make us happier than to be together, to have each other truly and completely, in the way that we love each other.”
You bow down after finishing your speech, showing that despite all of the things you said, you would respect whatever he ruled in this matter. It would break you to have to turn away from your Prince, but if the King truly believed it would be in his better interest not to wed you, to keep your love a secret, you would continue to spend your days hiding away, stealing glances and touches whenever the chance arose. You would not, however, let him truly be pulled from your grasp.
As you waited to hear the answer of the king, you could feel your heart beating within your chest, pounding against your rib cage as though it wished to fly back to Jinyoung, its true owner. The blood rushed in your ears and you could feel every fiber of your body thrumming with adrenaline and anticipation, knowing your whole world could crash down around you any moment.
Finally the king cleared his throat and you raised your eyes back to the graying man before you, who has a smile creasing his face which has your knees nearly dropping out from under you.
“If my son truly wishes to wed you and he has brought forth the courage to proclaim it before the courts, I see no reason to deny him the joys of love on the basis of something as trivial as status. You have proven strong in mind and body as a royal guard for many years, and the ways in which my son speaks about you shows that you continue to practice these tenets outside of the guard uniform and has me believing that you may be more worthy of the title of the Princes partner than any of the others we have brought here to woo him. I will give you my permission to court each other. Preparations can begin being made to plan the wedding to bind you two together.”
The Queen squeals with joy, leaping from her throne on the dais to raise down to her son, sweeping him into a hug. She presses kisses against his temple, stroking his hair, almost as though he was still a child that she found adorable, rather than a grown man who had just been sworn to wed. She turns to you next, pulling you into an equally strong hug, patting your back and whispering how truly happy she was and how thankful she was to have someone who could show her son the respect and love she knew he deserved.
Tears were shedding down her face, and matching ones traced down the Prince’s as he looked at you over his mother’s shoulder. He mouthed three words to you which had your throat closing up as well, your hands fisting into the queen’s dress as you try to hold back your own emotions.
You had finally won over the Prince, convinced the King and Queen to let you two be together, as you were meant to be. You had been so sure that fate would play out this way, two soulmates finding each other amongst perceived turmoil, but you still couldn’t believe that life had gone so well. You were in love with Prince Jinyoung and you swore to yourself that everyday from this day forward you would do anything to be the guard who deserved to marry the Prince.
And you never broke an oath.

MASTERPOST.
summary: it's your first time spending christmas with your boyfriend, and with help of the first snow, he finds a way to make this time memorable.
Even though it was the weekend, Jinyoung had some shootings to do before finishing the last project of the year. On a regular day, you usually weren’t able to join him while he was working, but today as it was the last day scheduled before they could have a deserved Christmas break, so here you were, on set, with a huge jacket while he was reading his lines before he was called to shoot his final scenes of the day.
You have always loved the way he was so passionate about acting, reading the script as many times as he could until he could decipher the real purpose of the character he was portraying, which he often succeeded doing, leading to an amazing performance. Not only that, but the way he also was dedicated to music and how he could portray such feelings with metaphors and symbols. Jinyoung’s passions and dedication were something you have always admired him for.
The set was nice, they were recording inside a coffee shop as they needed a bit more angles here before they could call the day off. It was a nice coffee shop, very warm and pleasant to sight, the owners had to close for the day as only staff was allowed, trying to keep the most secrecy of the project before it was aired.
A couple hours later you were finally dismissed, Jinyoung going to change his character’s clothes for his own. You waited for him outside, noticing how even if there was still some sunlight, the temperature started dropping and you wished to have waited inside. Looking around to see if Jinyong was near you felt something fall in your nose; a snowflake, and that's when you notice the snow falling on the streets. You have heard of a white Christmas, but you have never actually seen—let alone live one.
“It is beautiful,” you said to yourself.
“I know, right?” Jinyoung’s voice made you jump by the sudden way he had approached you without you noticing him, he was looking at you though. He took your hand in his, “you’re freezing, why didn’t you tell me?” you shrugged, you had been in such a focused state watching the small snowflakes falling that you hadn’t even noticed how cold you actually were.
Your boyfriend, as the charming man he usually is, took both your hands in his and brought them to his mouth, blowing on them to try and make them warm. You took that as an opportunity to look at him, it had been so long since you both had time for each other—your schedules often crashing—that you wanted to try and remember as much of him as you could. His nose and cheeks were pink from the cold weather, his hair—now being covered by snow—was down, barely covering his forehead and brushing his eyes. His eyes were focused on your hands, eyelashes long and full. His soft lips were a little chapped as he had forgotten to put some chapstick before coming to the location. You were sure you were irreparably in-love with this man, not that you were complaining.
You tugged your hands to pull him closer to you and kissed him. Usually both of you were careful of the public displays of affection as the public and the media always had some comment about any celebrity’s personal life. He let you kiss him, smiling in the middle of it and never letting your hands go.
Pulling away you smiled, “let’s go, I’m freezing here.”
The snow had already painted the sidewalks and streets white, but there was still enough time for you to get home. Jinyoung let you go inside the company’s car first, and brought you closer to him, causing his manager to roll his eyes. Jinyoung’s manager was one of the first ones to know that you were seriously dating a few months ago, and he didn’t really complain about it but he always enjoyed messing up with Jinyoung.
Once at the company, you both went to Jinyoung’s car after saying goodbye and wishing happy holidays to the staff. The sun had set a few minutes ago and now you were engulfed by the night, you were glad that you were close to home as the snowy weather made driving a little more difficult.
After a few minutes you arrived at your destination, happy to spend more time with the person you loved the most. As soon as you walked through the doors, you felt Jinyoung relax, his schedules had been so hectic these last weeks that you had seen him only once when he was deeply asleep after two full days of shooting. You took off both your jackets and hanged them by the door.
“You fancy some hot chocolate?” you hugged him, and he sighed in content.
A moment later both of you were tucked in bed holding each a hot chocolate, and after you finished your drink you fell asleep.
Opening your eyes, you knew Jinyoung wasn’t in bed. He had always told you how much he loves snow, and you were sure he was getting dressed to go and play with it. You, on the other hand, on days where it was very cold like this, wanted to stay at home and eat as much warm food— like soups and broths—as you could. However, if Jinyoung wanted to go and play with snow, you didn’t see any harm in doing that.
Getting up from bed, you started looking for your boyfriend, only to find him already outside making a small snowman. You put on warmer clothes and went out to him, noticing how it wasn’t a snowman he was building. Walking closer to him, you also noticed a beautifully fresh made heart on the snow to which your man was taking a picture.
“I was wondering,” now it was your turn to surprise him, he looked back at you and smiled, “where could Jinyoung be this early, he doesn’t have any schedule I’m aware of. I even thought of sending a text to your manager to know if it was a last minute shooting,” you dramatized at the same time Jinyoung fixed your scarf.
“I’m sorry, it’s just—look, ducks!” he moved aside, letting you see the snow ducks he had made. Jinyoung had bought a snow-duck-maker or however that is called, considering you had never seen one before. “You told me that you had never seen snow before, so I thought of surprising you with this.”
Your mouth opened in surprise, it was so beautiful. There were two ducks together and then some more behind them. You wondered how long Jinyoung had been outside doing snow ducks, smiling at the thought. Taking your phone out and taking a mitten off, you decided to take some candid pictures of Jinyoung doing snow ducks. You loved the way his eyes lit up when he showed you his creation. Photos meant a lot for both of you, and you knew the moment he noticed you taking him some, he would take you some as well.
Deciding that it was enough, you put your mitten back on and kept your phone on the front bag of your jacket before starting to make a snowball. It was odd, feeling how the snow started melting through the knitted mittens. Then, you threw that snowball at your boyfriend, caughting him off guard.
Jinyoung fell on his ass, “hey!” you stuck your tongue at him and then proceeded to throw him another snowball. “Alright, it’s on!” he replied laughing while making a bigger snowball.

You Have Me

A set of arms slipped around Jinyoung’s sides, making his eyes widen as he looked down to watch hands link together over his waist. He blinked, registering the warmth of the body connected to said arms now snuggling into his back, a nose pressing into the nape of his neck, nuzzling softly.
This had to be a dream.
“I just need a moment,” a mumble came from somewhere embedded in his shoulder blade, and yet he knew it was your voice that accompanied your hands around him now.
This suddenly was a delicious dream. One he didn’t want to ever wake up from.
“How long is a moment?” he asked, attempting and failing to sound teasing in his question. His voice sounded hoarse, too strained. Jinyoung was relieved that at least his body had lost its rigidness immediately, relaxing into your hold on him. He tried to look back outside at the birthday party you both had been invited to, but he was struggling to stop his senses from slipping to you.
You tightened your grip. “Well, it’s longer than a minute.”
“Is that so?”
“Mhmmm,” you hummed, turning your head, so your cheek rested against his back. “A moment is rather immeasurable at times.”
“And you need this moment to remain immeasurable?”
“Perhaps.”
“Any particular reason that you need this moment pressed into my back, Y/N?”
You sighed. Or maybe you breathed him in. He couldn’t quite tell. Jinyoung felt giddy, on the edge of something big. Something life-changing. He just hoped that when he took the fall, you remained beside him for it.
Or at least, still nestled into his back in comfort.
“Well, don’t tell the birthday boy, but between you both, your back looks more inviting than Mark’s.”
Jinyoung’s mood dampened. He didn’t want to be a better option. He wanted to be the only one you’d turn to.
“Huh,” he said, hoping his disappointment wasn’t as tangible as it felt. “Guess the gym has helped with that.”
“Maybe I should join the gym,” you commented mindlessly, and Jinyoung clamped his eyes shut, trying to stop the flashes of you working out from cementing into his brain. He couldn’t let the idea exist for more than a second. Otherwise, he’d be convincing you to join, and no doubt getting injured by being completely distracted whenever he saw you.
“Why?”
“So you can return the back hug favour!”
“Do you need a good, strong back for such a hug?” he mused, and you squeezed his middle a little.
“I don’t have a flimsy one.”
“Let me see,” he asked, whirling around in your embrace, stopping when your gaze collided with his. His eyes widened a second time, a thumb coming up to caress the now dried skin under your red eyes. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.”
“This doesn’t look like nothing to me.” He gestured with his free hand to your expression, the evidence of previous tears. Your hold remained firm around his middle. You weren’t ready to let go, that much was certain. “Tell me what happened.”
“I’m going home,” you whispered, and Jinyoung frowned. When he didn’t verbally reply, you let your focus fall to the arm he had placed around you, encouraging you to stay with him. “I don’t think I’m cut out for the city, you know? Well, maybe you don’t know because you’ve lived here a whole lot longer than me and I—”
“You and I both know that’s not true. You love the city, Y/N,” he cut in, trying to hide the ugly panic swirling in his chest. He didn’t want this to turn into a nightmare. Not when the dream of having you this close had felt so good.
You barked out a bitter laugh. “Yeah. I guess the city doesn’t like me then. I lost my job. You know, the one I was really excited to get a few months ago? I can’t believe that I ever was. And to be fair, I didn’t lose it on my own merit. Rather, I just couldn’t deal with Dean’s constant undermining of me anymore. I went to HR about his misconduct, and guess who the company sided with?”
“They chose him,” he answered darkly, his hand fisting the back of your shirt, so he didn’t fly off and use it elsewhere. Preferably in your ex-colleague’s face.
“Without that job, I can’t afford the city,” you whispered. “I have some savings, but not a lot, and my rent has increased, as has the price of living. So, I rang my Mum earlier and asked if I could move home. Of course, she said yes, she’s my Mum. But I feel like I failed.”
Jinyoung pulled you into him then, your head tucked in against his chest as he cradled you in comfort. He hated the disappointment in your eyes, the way you felt like you had done something wrong. The world was being cruel to one of the few people he knew that was honest, hard-working, and too selfless for their own good. He wanted to scoop you up and protect you forever, but he knew that you were far too stubborn to rely on him for anything more than this hug.
And yet…
“Move in with me,” he announced, and your head shot up from his chest, your eyes round with his statement. He nodded once, determined that he could change this play of fate. That he could keep you here a little longer. He didn’t want you to leave. Not now. Not when he was so close to soaring with the feelings he held within his chest.
But his feelings took a nosedive when you started to laugh.
“Are you serious?!” you chortled, your lips spreading into a smile laced with amusement. “You and me, living together?”
“I can’t see why it’s such a laughable option,” he mumbled, and you grinned before resting your forehead against his chest.
“We’d kill each other. I’m chaotic, whilst you have everything in your house organised and in a set routine.”
“My house has more than one bedroom. You can leave your room as messy as it suits you so long as you leave the door shut.”
“We don’t even like the same foods half the time.”
“So we’ll make compromises and cook for ourselves where necessary.”
You lifted your head but darted your gaze away before he could catch it. “I still can’t live with you.”
“Why not now? I lived in a dorm with six other guys when I was in college. If I can survive that, then—”
“I couldn’t cope seeing you bring home other women,” you said softly, barely louder than a whisper. “Instead of me.”
Had he heard you right? Dazed, Jinyoung thought over the sentence, trying to ensure he hadn’t just conjured the words out of your mouth to please his desire for you.
You took the lapse of focus to your advantage, slipping away from his embrace, the sudden coldness to his body alerting him of you running away. He managed to reach you before you got to the door, his arms now sliding around your waist, tugging you back into him. You stiffened momentarily.
“What are you doing?”
“I need a moment,” he stated gruffly, securing his grip around you. “A really long one.”
“How long is that?” you wondered quietly, the air surrounding you both now charged.
This was the moment he stepped off the edge, praying that you fell with him.
“So long that it lasts forever.”
“Jinyoung—”
“You don’t have to worry about any women coming over. Not when you’re there. Not when I have you.”
He felt your deep inhale and waited for you to release it, to say something. Anything.
“You have me?” you echoed, and Jinyoung buried his face into the side of your neck, pursing his lips into the soft skin just below your ear.
He didn’t answer verbally, allowing his body holding you to voice what it had wanted to for so long. How right you felt in his arms. How eager he had been to go from being a friend of a friend to one of your closest friends. How many nights he had spent in your company like tonight and found it impossible not to touch you, even if he had to tease you to get the chance.
If there was anyone he’d fall for, it was you.
“You have me,” you said once more, without the question in your tone. Turning around, you looked at him, eyes full of wonder. Sparkling with hope and unspoken confessions. “You’ve always had me.”
“I have?” Jinyoung asked, swallowing slowly. “Why plan to leave me then?”
“I didn’t want to believe that I was lucky enough to have you,” you told him, reaching up to cup his jaw in your hand. “It felt too much like a dream.”
“We’re awake right now. There’s no need to dream it when we can have it.”
You couldn’t bite back a snort. Jinyoung groaned loudly when you slapped a hand onto his chest, shaking with laughter. Eventually, you looked up at him. “That was so cheesy.”
“It sounded better in my head,” he lamented, sighing heavily.
“I don’t want to leave you or the city,” you stated once sober from your amusement, the hand still on his chest now scorching through his shirt. “You promise you won’t kick me out until I find a new job, at least?”
“Why am I kicking you out? Did you not connect my words? I always want you in my life, Y/N.”
You beamed at him but then twisted your lips. “I mean, I want that too, but I also know that sometimes I can really grate on your nerves. And your nagging is…”
“Is what?” he ventured when it was clear you weren’t prepared to finish the sentence.
Your lips twitched. “Brutal.”
“You know what’s brutal?” he asked, scooping you up in his arms again, trapping both your hands against his chest. “Having to hear you consider leaving me. You owe me for the heartache I just endured.”
“It’s not like I inflicted it without reason, Park Jinyoung!”
“You owe me,” he insisted, and you rolled your eyes.
“Yeah?”
He nodded, tapping a finger to his cheek. “Kiss it better.”
“Your heart isn’t up there, you idiot,” you said before ducking your head and placing a kiss over his chest. Jinyoung stilled, his grip on you loosening. He started to fall over the ledge you had sent him off, his heart rate kicking up a notch.
But you didn’t let him fall alone too far, your hands sliding up to cup his face, angling it and pressing your lips to his softly. Before he could respond, you pulled away. “There. Better?”
“Not even close,” he murmured before capturing your mouth in his, deepening the kiss by parting your mouth. You didn’t hesitate to meet his demands, the hunger he felt was pouring out of you too. His hands tangled in your hair, holding you to him, ensuring that you knew how much he wanted you, cherished you before he lifted away to take in steadying breaths.
You were stunned momentarily before you smiled. “I’m really glad I didn’t go and get a back hug from Mark now. I doubt it would have ended like this.”
Jinyoung choked on his own amusement. “For many reasons, I’m glad you didn’t either.”

“Oh my god! Jinyoung!? Don’t scare me like that!”
His hands still rested on your chair that he pulled whilst your back was turned, his new favorite way to greet you when he visited your studio.
You took your headphones off and put your hand over your beating heart to steady it while Jinyoung laughed at your expression. You swiveled your chair, rolling away from him and back to your computer but he stopped you mid motion and turned you back to him. You folded your arms and looked away.
“Okay okay, I’m sorry.”
“You said you were sorry last time, and the time before that, and the time before that, and the time before that, and the…”
“Okay I get it.” He said now kneeling in front of you while he rubbed his hands together in a dramatic begging motion. The teasing smile that still played on his lips was enough to warrant a pulling of his ear.
“Ow ow, I said I was sorry.” He said removing your hand from his ear and holding it.
“Whatever.”
You said shaking away his hand and the sudden butterflies that started waking up in your stomach.
‘There will be none of that!’ you scold yourself internally.
This has been happening more and more recently. Jinyoung was coming over to your studio to check on a song you’d been making or just to hang out. You were used to him being around so you couldn’t understand why suddenly small things like him holding your hand made your heart do liittle flips.
He placed one of those healthy energy drinks that he already opened for you on your desk before sitting down on the couch and opening his own drink.
“Geez, do I look that tired?” You joked before taking a swig.
When he didn’t respond you turned and looked at him only to catch his eyes just before he looked away.
Was he staring? Nah.
You turned back to your screen with a pink flush now blossoming in your cheeks, again, and clearing your throat.
“So last night I was tweaking the song we were working on last week but I don’t know I feel like it’s missing something.” You said before playing the song you’d been working on like a maniac all night.
You watched him intently while he listened, biting the inside of your cheek in anticipation.
When the song finished Jinyoung got up without saying anything and walked over to your setup. He leaned over you, arm brushing against you as he grabbed the mouse. He was so close now you could smell the cologne you bought him for his birthday.
He told you that he always wore it so he would be needing a new one soon.
Your heart betrayed you once again, speeding up in your chest. Your eyes couldn’t help taking in his perfect features before settling on his plump lips. You swallowed.
Jinyoung looked down at you with his brows furrowed.
“Are you feeling okay? You look a little flushed.”
Before you could respond he had put his hand against your forehead before putting the other against his own.
“You definitely feel a little warm.” He said looking back at you.
You moved his hand away and stood up.
“I feel fine, it’s just a little warm in here.” You said slightly backing away from him.
He raised his eyebrow as his eyes flickered to the sweater you were bundled up in and the blanket that had fallen from your lap when you had suddenly gotten up.
It was far from warm in here.
“Anyway, what were you doing?” You said changing the topic not so smoothly.
“Oh right! So I was just mapping out some parts where I felt like it could use softer vocals mixed throughout. I think that would really pull the whole sound together.”
“I see… okay head into the studio and we can try it out.” You liked the idea for multiple reasons. One being that he might actually be right and the other being your need for him to no longer be so close to you.
“Wait. I was thinking you could do it.”
“What!? Me? But I don’t sing.” You said looking at him confused.
“But your voice is really pretty and I think this would really suit you.” He said matter of factly.
And que the blush.
“I-I don’t know.”
“Trust me. Your voice is exactly what this song's melody is missing.”
The next thing you knew you were the one in the studio and he was sitting in your chair. At first you were nervous and your voice was shaky but as he talked to you and coached you along you warmed up.
“Okay, come out and listen!” Jinyoung said excitedly.
You hurried out and he replayed the song for you. This time instead of just his honey voice filling the room you also heard yours mixed in there too. He smiled at you when it was done.
“See? It’s perfect like this!” He said, smiling up at you.
“But I hate the sound of my voice. And besides, it’s still missing something.” you said, shaking your head. Even though it did sonically sound much better you couldn’t help but cringe at the sound of your voice.
“I love the way your voice sounds.” He replied, playing the song again with a smile on his face.
“Okay.” You said as you tried to fight the hundredth heart flip today. “Now get out of my chair.”
Instead of moving he just patted his lap with a trouble making smile. You froze, simply staring at him.
“Sorry.” He said with an awkward chuckle. “Stupid joke.” You could swear he looked a little flustered but you couldn’t tell. Without another thought and probably moving quicker than natural you found yourself accepting his invitation. You sat down exactly we’re he patted and instantly got back to work.
Jinyoung's hands sort of just hovered while he tried to process the moment. He didn’t expect you to actually sit but now that he felt the warmth of your body against his he knew that if anyone moved it would be game over. Without even breathing he rested his arms on the arm rest. He wasn’t gonna be the one to forfeit this silly little game you two were playing, and had been playing for a while now.
On second thought maybe only he knew about it because you didn’t seem phased at all. He attempted to take a breath but instantly regretted it when your scent filled his nose. You smelled just as sweet as you always did but right now he wished you didn’t.
Have you always been this gorgeous? He asked himself one day while he was sitting in your studio. He was simply watching you work as he always did when suddenly he couldn’t stop his eyes from wandering. Your soft hair you had pulled away from your beautiful face. Your pretty lips that you chewed on as you thought. The curve of your body. Stop! Don’t be a freaking creep. He wanted to keep exploring but he forced himself to look away.
And now that he was sitting here with your perfect ass pressed against him he wasn’t sure how much more he could take. He swallowed and you shifted as you turned to face him. Shit!
“What? Am I heavy?” You asked with a tilt of your pretty little head while a smile tugged at the corner of your soft lips.
Jinyoung licked his lips nervously as your movement made you now pressed dangerously close to him.
You started to move again and he quickly put his hands on your waist, stopping your movement.
Your eyes looked at his moistened lips as you nervously swallowed. Jinyoung's hands felt warm against your body and now your stomach and heart were in a boxing match for the thousandth time today. You repositioned yourself so you could face him better, curious to know his next move.
His grip on your waist tightened.
“What’s our relationship these days?” You whispered.
Jinyoung's eyelids fluttered in shock.
“What do you mean?” Jinyoung whispered back.
“I can’t stop thinking about you… in a way a friend wouldn’t think about another friend.”
Jinyoung was silent. Your brain was everywhere and nowhere all at once. Your heart was pounding so loud you swore he could hear it.
“I shouldn’t have said that.” You said quickly and panic set in.
“Y/N…”
“Danm it, I’m such a fucking idiot!” You said exasperatingly. You moved to get up but you felt Jinyoung’s strong hand holding you in place.
“I’ve been thinking about you in a way a friend wouldn’t think about another friend as well.” Jinyoung said.
Now it was your turn to be shocked.
“Things like how your body would feel in my hands.” He continued. “Like how your lips would taste. Honestly I think that I think about kissing you a lot more than I should.”
His hand softly held your chin while his eyes traced your lips.
“…Do it then.” You said with a little frown on your face.
You were being driven crazy by the fact that you hadn’t been the only one who wanted to make out but somehow for months now you’d simply been wasting time.
He laughed at you but ultimately he felt the same.
His lips were as soft as they looked. And now they were hot against you and what’s more he tasted absolutely heavenly. His hands now rested on your neck, his thumb caressing your jaw as he deepened the kiss. Your chest pressed against his and you felt the pounding of his heart. Or was that your heart?
Jinyoung had to force himself to take a moment to breathe. He couldn’t believe this was happening. Was it possible that he was actually kissing you? He secretly pinched himself to make sure it wasn’t a dream.
“Owe!” You said suddenly.
You pulled back and looked at him with a frown. You looked absolutely delicious with your kissed pink lips and your flushed cheeks.
He couldn’t help but laugh. You hit him in the chest before rubbing the spot on your thigh that he pinched.
“I wanted to check if this was real or not.” Jinyoung finally said now that he was done laughing at your cuteness.
“Then pinch yourself doofus.” You said playfully, swatting at him.
He caught your hands.
“We’re so close right now I couldn’t tell.”
With those words Jinyoung was reminded of just how close you two were. Your hand rested on his thigh dangerously close to his crotch. Your heaved chest with every breath drawing his attention to your now unzipped sweater and your sweat glistened chest. He could tell you caught him staring but this time he didn’t look away.
Jinyoung watched you as you finished unzipping your sweater and revealing all that was underneath. You were absolutely mesmerizing. You let your sweater fall from your shoulders.
Kisses. You felt his breath all over your body along with his strong hands squeezing you as if it were life and death. His lips were all over yours and then your neck and then your nipples and then your shoulders and back to your lips. He was starved
You wrapped your arms around his neck and whispered breathlessly in his ear. “Let’s go to the couch”
Jinyoung instantly complied, standing up with you before walking over to your couch and gently laying you down.
Hovering above you, Jinyoung took in the sight before him. “How could you possibly be real?” He thought out loud only realizing the mistake when your face burned crimson.
He leaned in and softly kissed you again.
You felt his hardness pressed against your thigh as he leaned. It didn’t matter if this was a good idea or not because it was happening and you sure as hell weren’t gonna stop it.
The more you kissed pressed against each other in varying positions the harder it became to keep your underwear on. Giving up entirely you finished stripping. Oddly there was no discomfort in the moment. You thought that after all this time of minimum interaction laying beneath a man completely naked would make you feel beyond uncomfortable but you didn’t. His eyes flickered across every inch of you, taking you in like you were the most beautiful person in the world.
“Your turn.” You said breaking the silence.
Without a word Jinyoung followed suit.
The eye contact was intense’ neither of you having any desire to look away. The atmosphere felt deliciously tense so obviously the clown in you instantly resorted to making a joke.
“I did not see today going this way.” You joked. “I would’ve worn my sexy underwear.”
“You’re not wearing anything now so it doesn’t really matter.” He said before using the silence as a chance to gaze at your body again.
“Good point. So… we fucken or what? I’m getting cold.”
Once again Jinyoung’s beautiful laugh filled the room and vibrated against your body.
“No one can ever say you’re not a romantic. Geez we’re having a moment.”
“Sorry. I think I’m just stupid horny right now.”
“Well, can’t say I didn’t try.” He said before sitting up on the couch, pulling you on top of him.
You naturally straddled his lap, kisses peppering your skin the moment you were seated.
“Condom.” He mumbled in between kisses.
With a groan you pulled, breaking the bliss and got up to grab the box you always kept at your studio. You know what they say, better safe than unquenchably horny.
Jinyoung's eyes tracked you the whole way through with an odd expression that only relaxed when he noticed the box was still sealed.
If he was being honest then he would’ve just said that the thought of another man being with you drove him insane. But instead of sounding like a psychopath by saying that he just laughed and said “Good thing you’re always prepared.
“Would you believe me if I told you I bought these for you.”
His laugh was replaced with rapid blinking as he stared at you in slightly confused shock. If what he thought you were saying was what you were saying he wouldn’t be able to contain himself.
“Don’t get too excited.” You said when you finally made your way back over to him. “You’re just the only person I thought I would have sex with in my studio.
He took the box from you and looked at it.
“Should a be concerned that you know my size?” He said with an eyebrow raise.
You put your hand up in defense.”I swear it was just a guess. Wait…that’s not really helping my case.”
“Soooo, what you’re saying is not only did you spend time thinking about what size my dick is, you also went out and bought a pack of condoms for the purpose of having sex with me even though our relationship was platonic.” He said, shaking his head in false disapproval.
He couldn’t help teasing you as he took a condom out of the box.
You smiled, completely unfazed by his words, as you playfully snatched the condom from him and tossed the box to the side.
“How much of a pervert am I if I say I also fantasized about doing this?” You questioned as you slowly brought the wrapper to your lips before using your teeth to open it.
Jinyoung watched you almost in a daze as you discarded the wrapper on the floor, the condom resting between your lips. With your free hand you reached over and began to stroke him.
A groan slipped from his lips. The feeling of your soft hands around him was overwhelming. A pearl of pre-cum formed at the tip and you bent over and seductively licked it off. This time he couldn’t stop the moan that slipped out.
You were starting to get impatient as your desire for him ticked higher. You sat back up and rolled the condom down his shaft before shifting onto his lap.
Jinyoungs kisses were instinctive, the moment your lips were near his were against them. His hands feverishly touched you everywhere they could reach.
“I need you inside of me now.” You moaned in between kisses. You were never good about waiting so you honestly couldn’t believe that you’ve made it this long without him inside of you.
You propped yourself on your knees, making sure you were holding eye contact while you wrapped your hand around him and guided him to your entrance. You took your time as he stretched you, the pain mixing into pleasure.
Jinyoung's breath quickened the moment he saw himself bottomed out inside of you. Afraid to hurt you he fought himself to stay still, letting you take the lead.
When you were ready you nodded to let him know he could move. He pushed against your insides deliciously and the noises that spilled from you were uncontrollable. You used his shoulders to steady yourself, your mind slipping from the pleasure.
The sounds of your breathy moans filled the room making Jinyoung’s head spin in delight. He was sensitive to your every movement . The way you fluttered around him. The way your hands wrapped increasingly tighter onto his neck and shoulders with every pulse that went through your body. The way you whispered his name mixed in with a mumble of curses that he was pretty sure you just made up. The way the sweat that glistens on your body under the purple computer light made you look absolutely otherworldly. He didn’t know how much more he could take so when you said you were getting close he could finally exhale. Mesmerized, he watched your face as your orgasm crashed through you. Beautiful couldn’t justifyingly describe you.
The feeling that boomed through your body was heavenly. Jinyoung followed soon after, his movement steadying as the aftershocks dwindled.
His strong arms held you close as if letting you go wasn’t even an option.
At some point you felt as if you were drifting to sleep so you shook the drowsiness away and forced yourself to get up. Jinyoung protested a little but he knew that you both had work to do.
You two cleaned up and put back on your clothes.
There was silence in the room that was only slightly awkward now that everything was set and done.
“Do you wanna finish the song?” You asked heading to sit in your chair.
“Yeah. What should I order for dinner?” He said picking up his phone and going to the delivery app.
“You pick. I don’t really- *gasp*.”
“What?” Jinyoung rushed towards you.”
“The mic in here was recording.”
You two looked at the sound waves of the recording that stretched across the monitor.
Clicking on the highest waves you hit play as curiosity got the best of you. Instant embarrassment washed over you as you listened to the sounds of your moans over the speakers.
“That’s so embarrassing.” You groaned and moved to delete the audio when Jinyoung stopped you.
“Wait. Don’t. I think we should use this.”
“Use it?” You said, raising your eyebrow.
“In the song.”
You still looked at you quizzically so he took your mouse and started working himself.
When he was done with layering the sounds on a small piece he hit play.
The song filled the studio and you winced in anticipation. Wait a minute you, that actually sounds really freaking good. The layering of your voices paired really well and the slightly altered moans in the backing really added more depth to the previous empty feeling beat.
“Shit. I like it.” You said, smiling up at him.
Jinyoung smiled back down at you, his dimples looking absolutely adorable as he did. Seeing his chance while your face was lifted towards him he quickly stole a kiss.
“We make a good team huh?” He said after, his face still tantalizingly close to yours sending butterflies back into your stomach.
“I guess we do.”
You stayed like that for a moment before a notification on his phone pulled you out of it.
“The food is here. I’ll go get it, be right back.
“Perfect, I’m starving.”
He lingered for one moment longer before leaving to grab the food.
You let out a breath you just realized you were holding and went back to finishing the song, a big happy grin covering your face.

You Go Into Labour At A Concert ~ Park Jinyoung
Tumblr media
You tried your best to ignore as yet another kick of pain made you jolt as you walked, focusing on Jinyoung in front of you. Both of your hands rested against your bump, desperate to find a way to get the pain to stop so that you could be comfortable.
Looking back to you, a member of staff scoffed as they watched you try and keep your balance, not wanting to cause any fuss. His eyes intimidated you, making you sink back against the wall as you took several deep breaths in.
“Do you really need to take the attention off of your husband this much?” He asked you, moving you to one side. “We get your pregnant, no need to make a huge deal about it.”
Your eyes widened at his chilling attitude, “if you think all of this is just for a bit of attention then I’d love for you to try and feel what real pain is.”
His head shook, called over by his manager to pay attention as the third outfit change of the night for the group neared. You were left standing alone as you tried to focus on the show, but the pain that you felt was niggling more with every passing second.
Your eyes could barely focus on the boys running off the stage, noticing that your figure was being blocked by the member of staff. Your eyes shut, feeling as if you had no chance of even being able to let Jinyoung know that you were uncomfortable.
“Where’s Y/N?” You soon heard him ask though, unable to spot you anywhere.
The expression on the staff’s faces looked disturbing to Jinyoung, deciding to look past their shoulders. It was lucky that he did as he spotted you knelt down, hands pressed underneath your bump as the pain only worsened for you.
“Y/N? Are you alright? What’s wrong?” Jinyoung frantically asked you, pushing them to one side so that he could kneel down beside you. “Are you in pain?”
Your head shook back at Jinyoung as his hand rested against the small of your back. Straight away he knew that you were lying, looking back and calling the boys across to you hoping that they’d be able to help him out a little bit.
“You need to get changed,” you warned Jinyoung, noticing him still in his outfit for the previous set. “You’ll get into trouble.”
“I don’t care about my clothes Y/N, I care about you,” Jinyoung quickly reminded you.
As the boys all came over too, their expressions turned to worry. Each one of them knew you well, easily well enough to know when you were in pain and struggling especially.
“He’s not needed on stage anymore,” Jaebeom told you, placing his hand to Jinyoung’s left shoulder. “You can’t go up there when Y/N’s like this, we’ve only got five songs left, we can fill in the gaps and make things look normal, it’s not as if we’ve not performed a member down before.”
Your head shook as Jaebeom assured you both that there was no need to panic. “I’m sure if I can just get a chair to sit on to catch my breath, I’ll feel a lot better guys.”
Whilst you tried to convince the boys that there was no need to worry, they were far from sure at all. Jaebeom almost agreed, but as he looked between the rest of the boys, they all silently told him to put his foot down and keep Jinyoung right by your side.
The sudden realisation of what was going on soon crept up on Jinyoung as soon as Jaebeom stopped talking. “What if these pains are something more serious?” He asked anyone who would listen to him, “you’re only two weeks away from your due date, what if maybe this is the early signs of labour coming?”
As Jinyoung fretted, Jaebeom held onto him a little tighter. “Maybe you guys should go and visit the hospital rather than stay here, it’s too busy and loud for you Y/N when you’re in pain.”
“I wish you guys would stop worrying,” you frowned, raising your voice, only to quickly regret it. The pain heightened as you began to get irritable, having to quickly lean back down as you tried to stand, groaning underneath your breath in discomfort.
“There is no way you’re staying here,” Yugyeom told you as he helped Jinyoung to hold onto you and stop you falling. Jackson and Mark had already gone to get you some bits, whilst Youngjae and BamBam fought together as to who could get their phones quicker.
The reality soon began to sink in for you too as you sunk down in Jinyoung and Yugyeom’s hold. You could hear the impatience of the crowd growing behind the curtain, not to mention the disapproving stares you were getting from the members of staff who were waiting to carry on.
A sigh came from you as you felt your figure be lifted so that you were sat in a chair that Jackson had fetched for you. “I’m so sorry,” you sighed, unable to ignore the guilt that was eating away at you for bringing the concert to a halt.
“Don’t you dare apologise Y/N; you can’t help any of this. It’s natural, that’s all.”
Despite Mark’s best attempts to reassure you, you still felt bad, especially as all of them sat down with you. The staff tried several times to get back on stage, but each one of them refused to leave until they knew you had help.
“The fans are expecting you guys to finish the show, are you crazy?”
“We will finish the show,” BamBam told them as they approached again, “but we will finish the show when Y/N is taken care of. If you’re that concerned then one of you can go up there and explain to them that there’s been an emergency,” BamBam added, watching as the member of staff very quickly backed away from you all.
“We’re staying right here,” Youngjae smiled across at you, resting his hand against your shoulder, “you’ve always been here for the seven of us, it’s about time that we return the favour and be here for you as well Y/N.”
As you looked around at the seven of them sat around you, you couldn’t help but wonder how you got so lucky to have friends like them. Even as the ambulance came, they didn’t leave your side until you were laid in the back and comfortable with cushions.
They stood and they waved for as long as they possibly could until the ambulance left the arena, knowing that now they had a show to finally finish.
“What an eventful day,” Jinyoung laughed as he sat down beside you, bundled into the back of the ambulance by the boys who ignored your protests that you would be alright and that Jinyoung could join you once the show was done.
Your head nodded in agreement with him, “I know what you’re going to say to me, but I’m still sorry that it happened here. Of all the places and all the times, of course, our baby had to decide to throw a spanner in the works.”
“Clearly they’re just proving that they’re dramatic like you,” Jinyoung joked in reply to you, “making sure everyone knows that they like the attention.”
You poked your tongue out at Jinyoung just before another pain hit you, grabbing onto his hand and squeezing it once again. Jinyoung didn’t complain at all as you did so, allowing you to hold onto him for as long as you needed to until you laid back down again, knowing the pain of your grip was something that he was going to have to get used to.
“At least they’ll have a fun story as to how they came into the world,” Jinyoung smiled at you.
“Their daddy’s concert, who would have thought it?”

Jinyoung stood at the counter, a knife in one hand while the other held a leaf of lettuce, frozen in place. His mind was racing, as your words echoed loudly in his head.
"W-What did you just say to me?"
From your seat at the kitchen table you laughed seeing that your statement had some kind of effect on your loving boyfriend who had been teasing you just moments ago. He was in the middle of making himself a sandwich and you asked him to make you one as well. Plus he looked really good in his light wash jeans, you couldn't help yourself when he told no teasingly.
"You heard me. I'll squeeze your ass so hard that you'll feel it in your balls."
Jinyoung set the knife in his hand down on the counter along with the lettuce leaf before he slowly turned around to face you. You smirked at him and made a grabby motion with your hands making Jinyoung frown.
"If you touch me like that, babe-" Jinyoung crossed his arms over his chest and narrowed his eyes as he flexed his muscles, "- I can promise you won't like the repercussions."
You raised an eyebrow and licked your lips before you folded your fingers together and rested your chin on top. "Sounds like a good time to me, Prince Peach."
Jinyoung scarfed at the nickname and gave you the middle finger before he turned back around. You laughed loudly, knowing that you had won this round and Jinyoung sighed. This is who he married, huh?

if you’re still taking requests can u do a fluffy bae jinyoung bestfriends to lovers with prompts 4, 42, and 159? <3
4. “You’re so needy.” 42. “Have you kissed anyone before?” 159. “It’s not funny!”
This day sucks. You’re in such a crabby mood and the only thing you want is for your best friend to come over and make you feel better. Luckily, you have the best best friend in the world and he’s already on his way. You close his messages and lock your phone, receding into the blanket cocoon you made yourself on your couch. Until he gets here, you have no intention of participating in Life.
It doesn’t take him long to arrive, disrupting your silent stewing with a playful call of your name as he walks through your door. You only grunt in response, eliciting a full-bodied laugh from Jinyoung that you weren’t expecting. You almost smile.
Jinyoung comes slinking into your living room and spots you right away. He walks to the end of the couch that holds your head on a stack of pillows and plops down on the floor next to it. “Here you go, cranky,” he mumbles, intentionally keeping his voice soft to be gentle with you. His hand holds up bottled iced coffee for you as his back rests against the frame of the couch.
You quickly take the bottle from him with excitement you didn’t think you could muster today. He knows you so well. Iced coffee is your favorite. You prefer the stuff from the local coffee shops, but a bottled one that’s easy for Jinyoung to pick up on his way does the trick. Then, you pout.
Jinyoung’s brows lift in confusion. He knows you like iced coffee. He knows you like this brand, this flavor. What’s up?
“Can you go get one of my glass straws from the kitchen? I like to drink it with a straw,” you plead, refusing to move from your plush cave. The whine in your voice and the desperate look on your face is too much, you can tell. But you can’t be bothered to care.
Jinyoung’s mouth drops as if he can’t believe what he’s hearing. “You’re so needy. My gift isn’t enough on its own?” He tsks but the smirk on his face and his playful tone are a dead giveaway that he’s just giving you a hard time. “Be right back.”
When he comes back with the newly-strawed bottle, you’re ready to rant. You take the bottle from him and slurp down a good quarter of it while he sits back down in the same place. You reach your arm out as far as you can and it’s just long enough to put the bottle down on your coffee table. You sink back into your blankets, pulling them up tight so only your head protrudes. Your arm snakes out to grab Jinyoung’s hand and place it on your head.
He knows the drill, fingers slowly and skillfully playing with your hair. He has to turn to the side a bit to do it properly so his eyes are right on your face and that makes your cheeks heat up a bit. You’re ready to bare your–frankly, rather dramatic–soul to him and he’s looking at you so closely. You feel vulnerable.
But with Jinyoung, you know you’re safe.
“So, are you going to tell me why you’re acting like the most horrendous of wrongs was committed against you?” Always so snarky. If he didn’t sound so genuinely concerned and if his hand in your hair didn’t feel so nice, you’d probably gripe at him.
“Well. It’s just…” You try to gather all of the important points you want to make before you start talking so you can just blurt them all out at once. You’re afraid you may not have the guts to say everything otherwise. “It’s just that one of my friends asked me to go on a blind date with this guy from her class because she thought we would be really cute together. And I didn’t really want to go because from what she says it doesn’t sound like he’s really my type but I was going to go anyway. And she set it up for us to have dinner tonight and even though I wasn’t really excited, when he texted and said he couldn’t make it tonight, I was so mad! Like I know I didn’t really care about him specifically but I just wanted to be on a date with a guy and flirt and have a nice time and finally kiss someone oh my god.”
You take a deep breath after word vomiting at him, only to pout when you hear him laughing. “What is so funny?”
Your question only makes him laugh more, but he quickly composes himself before he actually upsets you.  “Well, I have a lot of questions, really, like since when did you want to go on dates so badly? And how do you know he’s not your type if you haven’t met him yet? And since when can you even flir– you know what, nevermind all that. The biggest question I have is about the last thing you said. Have you kissed anyone before?”
Your face feels like it’s on fire. You were fully planning on letting him have it for laughing at you but he had to ask you about that of all things. You’re not really that surprised if you’re honest with yourself. That was the one thing you didn’t really want to say because you know it’s surprising for people to hear. It’s surprising for you and it’s been a fact of life for you for your entire life. You consider lying but you think better of it. He wouldn’t believe you anyway. He knows you too well, remember.
“Well… no. But that’s not the point.”
He’s laughing again. “Isn’t it, though? It kinda seemed like that was the part you were most upset about.”
You shrug your head away from his hand and swat it away, nose scrunched. “It’s not funny!” Embarrassed, you tuck your face away into your blankets with the rest of you. He can talk to your scalp if he wants to keep playing.
It doesn’t take him long to soften. His hand finds its way back to your hair, carefully stroking the parts he can reach. “Hey…” His voice is barely above a whisper. When you don’t come out of hiding, he sneaks his hand into the blanket, grazing the side of your face as he does so. You ignore the goosebumps that arise to stand your ground.
It doesn’t work for long, though. Jinyoung’s fingers hook under your chin and push up, forcing your face out of hiding and into his direct line of sight. He is so much closer to you than he was before, you could swear it. You gulp silently and try like hell not to look away. You don’t want to be as embarrassed as you are. You’re not sure what to say but the silence is smothering you.
“You’ve never kissed anyone before.” It’s not a question this time. If you could crawl out of your skin, you would. The closest thing is hiding away again, but the second your head tries to lower itself again, Jinyoung stops it. He slides his hand up the side of your jaw and grips it, holding it in place without being harsh. It feels warm. Like he is giving you security, not controlling you.
“Jinyoung…” You’re whining again. But this time it’s because you feel so shy and the way he’s holding your face feels too intimate for someone that’s just supposed to be your friend and the warmth coursing through your body also feels like something that shouldn’t be found in the body of someone spending time with their best guy friend.
“Y/n.” He says your name so simply. He doesn’t plan to say anything else. He’s just grounding you in the moment with him. Making sure you know that he knows very well who he is with right now. Who has his full attention. His eyes are soft but they’re sparkling. You’re not sure you’ve ever seen him look so serious about something. So, when he speaks again, you’re shocked by what he says.
“Would it be okay if I kissed you?”
His thumb strokes your cheek in slow back and forth motions. More grounding. You don’t know what to say. You’ve never thought about kissing him before. You’ve never thought about doing anything with Jinyoung that wasn’t typical of a pair of best friends. And yet…
It seems like right now the only thing you want in the world is to kiss him. Your eyes can’t take themselves off of his lips, so pink and pillowy and way too close for your sanity. You’re still trying to figure out how to explain all of that to him, mind whirring in thought, but your head is already nodding, unbeknownst to you.
And so it happens. Jinyoung closes the small gap between the two of you and lets his lips press against yours in the lightest, sweetest kiss. It’s just barely a kiss, but you’re already sure it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to you.
His lips linger, ghosting on yours as both of you open your eyes again, seeing each other in a brand new light all of a sudden. He smiles at you and you smile back. You don’t feel so shy anymore. You feel… love.

Jinyoung smiles as he peeks up from his laptop that rests on the kitchen table in front of him as you walk past him for the fifth time. His brow raises in curiosity as he reaches up to take off his glasses, sitting them off to the side as he focuses on you fully trying to figure out if you were simply pacing or if there was some purpose to the trail you were making into the carpet.
You blow out a puff of air upward towards your forehead as your hair falls in front of your eyes before you make another trip into the kitchen. You had been traveling from the kitchen through the dining room past the table not paying much mind to the eyes that were now fixed on you. There was purpose to your madness, Jinyoung brought his work home and you had given yourself a list of chores and reorganizing your nicer dishes was on that list.
A smirk is hidden behind Jinyoung’s index finger as he rests his chin on his thumb as he watches you stack a pile of dishes precariously in your arms before once again walking the same path past him into the kitchen. He can’t help but to let out a breathy laugh when he hears you curse softly to yourself when you obviously struggle to put them down softly.
You purse your lips giving them a once over not finding anything broken before quickly wanting to grab the last of the dishes as you move towards the cabinet only to gasp when hands grip at your hips pulling you towards the table. “Jinyoung! I’m almost done.” You hear him laugh this time as his arms circle you, pulling you onto his lap as he gives you an adoring look with a shake of his head.
“And they will be there in 10 minutes. Take a break. You are wearing a hole into our floor with your pacing.” You sigh trying to sound annoyed but your smile betrays you when you meet Jinyoung’s eyes and feel his thumbs glide over your skin just under your shirt. “I wasn’t pacing…I was working diligently.”
Jinyoung nods scrunching up his face teasingly before he leans towards you. “You were. I’m not arguing with that. I just want a kiss.” You nudge his nose with yours playfully as he tries to kiss you making him laugh as he leans back in shock as you smirk softly. “Tease…”
Laughing you shake your head as one of his hands slide up your back to your neck as his lips press small playful kisses to your jaw and chin before he finally meets your lips silencing you. Pulling back you bite your lip softly and give him the same adoring look he had given you before meeting his lips again deepening the kiss. You melt into his embrace giving in for a few minutes leaving your chores behind.

“Why did we wait this long to do the laundry?” you sigh as you start pulling your freshly dried sheets out of the laundry basket, dumping the warm pile of various fabric onto the wooden floor of your bedroom.
“I told you to start doing your laundry earlier in the day, but you didn’t listen,” Jinyoung claims in his ‘I told you so’ voice with his arms crossed over his chest as he watches from the open doorway.
“Yeah, yeah,” you huff, “now, get your ass over here and help me.”
Jinyoung lets out a small laugh before obliging. He walks closer to where you’ve turned the floor into a makeshift folding board and joins you in folding the laundry.
It’s silent and it’s peaceful.
You find yourself feeling more joy out of the simple and domestic acts that you and Jinyoung would end up doing despite having already been married for more the past five years and having dated for almost seven.
There’s just something about simply being with him that makes your heart feel ten times calmer than it had been for the rest of the day. No words have to be exchanged; only Jinyoung’s presence being there.
“Have you done the dishes yet?” you ask softly, the question coming out rather suddenly, but only because you had remembered it so suddenly.
Jinyoung’s hands immediately freeze, his eyes widening slightly as he keeps his eyes trained on one of your jeans that he was in the middle of folding.
Your eyes narrow skeptically upon seeing his reaction, “Jinyoung…”
“I may have forgotten because I got caught up with work,” he confesses sheepishly.
“And you scolded me for choosing to fold the laundry at night,” you grumble just as you toss a jacket at his head.
The fabric lands in a way where it completely drapes over Jinyoung’s head and covers his face as he stays still and allows it to happen.
He chuckles and pulls one sleeve of it to pull it off, “I deserve that. I’ll wash them after we’re done with the laundry. I don’t want the clothes to wrinkle.”
“As long as you get them done.”
Jinyoung smiles and nods.
You both return to the same rhythm as before, grabbing clothes from the pile, folding them, and setting them aside in the white laundry basket to be put away into your closet later.
The pile slowly gets smaller and smaller as the minutes go past, until it’s half an hour later and all of your laundry is done. You think that you’re both lucky you still haven’t agreed to have children yet with how it takes more than an hour for you to fold laundry for only two people every week.
Once the pile is gone, you move to putting away the clothes as Jinyoung moves to the kitchen to start with the dishes that had piled up from dinner.
You stay in the bedroom for about ten minutes once you’re done with your chore and try to preoccupy yourself with one of the books from Jinyoung’s extensive bookshelf that sits flush against the right side of the bedroom, facing the queen sized bed.
But the compilation of poems and short stories can keep you busy for only so long before you start missing the company of your best friend.
You slide out of your bedroom in your fuzzy socks and shuffle your way down the stairs and to the kitchen where Jinyoung’s back faces the archway into the kitchen. The sleeves of his black sweater are rolled up to his elbows to avoid getting them wet as he works through the dishes at his own pace.
You approach him softly, successfully standing behind him without alerting him before you wrap your arms around his waist.
“Shit,” Jinyoung curses, jumping when he feels you. “You scared me, love,” he chuckles without turning around.
I missed you,” you hum as you press your cheek into his shoulder blade.
“You make it sound like we’ve been separated for months,” he laughs.
“Well, we wouldn’t be separated at all if you had done the dishes when you got home, but here we are,” you scold him playfully.
“I’m sorry, honey. I’ll be done in a few minutes. We can watch a movie together after this, okay?”
Jinyoung wipes his hands dry with one of the rags before turning around to face you, a big smile on his face as his hands rest on your hips gently. The black frame of his glasses sit loosely on the bridge of his nose as a result of being unable to push them back into place in the middle of doing the dishes.
You raise your hand to gingerly adjust his glasses with your index finger which makes him scrunch his nose and purse his lips together.
“I’d love that.”
He smiles once again as he leans down to kiss the tip of your nose.
“We could also look at online stores to buy you new pairs of socks.”
“Oh! I like that idea better!” you gasp excitedly.
Jinyoung laughs, “I thought you would.”
“Can we get matching pairs of those cute fox themed socks?”
“Of course we can, honey.”
“And what about the astronaut ones?”
“We can get those, too.”

Tumblr media
pjy x female reader word count: 1.4k genre: fluff, married life, domestic life, slice of life, christmas time, surprise gift, meet the family warnings: if you happen to speak another language rather than English, you might feel things. jinyoung learns a new language to surprise his wife. mature content: no. a/n: nobody ever told me the hardships of being an adult with tons of job responsibilities (and how to be financially responsible). a lot has happened, still a lot of fics of all lenghts on the works that i do promise that will be uploaded sooner or later (most likely later, BUT WILL BE UPLOADED I SWEAR !!). i'll place another author's note at the end of the one shot so you can know what jinyoung (and he family) said. enjoy!!! MASTERPOST.
summary: it's christmas time, and also the first time jinyoung gets to meet your whole family who doesn't speak English nor Korean, something that makes you uneasy until you see how well jinyoung gets along with everybody.
Life has its strange ways and turns, one day you’re saying goodbye to your family without knowing when or if you would ever cross paths again, and the other your in-laws are driving you and your husband to the airport so you both can go and visit your family, which you hadn’t seen since your wedding almost a year ago.
After a final hug and well-intended see you soons, you walked to the ariport’s waiting room. This flight was long, longer than most international flights. However, it did excite you to know that you will be spending Christmas and New Year in your country. These two next weeks would be the most time he will be spending there, and you knew undoubtedly that he was also very excited.
“I swear they won’t mean anything bad, they’re just a bit handful,” you warned him. He has spent time with your family  yes, but never this much time, neither outside of his country nor your mom and dad’s sides fully. Often being just your mom or dad, or both. Sometimes you could even add your sister to the equation. He smiled, “I think I can manage,” kissing your temple, you allowed yourself to relax into his embrace, waiting for your flight to be announced.
The way he handled your youngest cousins and baby nephews and nieces made you giddy. You have had the talk, and he never actually pushed you into getting pregnant—something you were most grateful for—however, the baby fever you were facing at the moment was getting out of control. Your cheeks were hurting from smiling that much, even your mom had playfully elbowed you, which you answered playing dumb.
Jinyoung had not made anything that could have made you think he was uncomfortable nor struggling communicating. Your relationship struggled at the beginning as you weren’t fluent in Korean and even though his English was really good, he had to make an effort so you could communicate without having to pressure you into learning Korean faster, meaning that now both of you were fluent in both languages.
Either way, you knowing English didn’t mean that your family knew English too. Your sister and cousins, sure. But your parents, uncles and aunts struggled with that as it wasn’t commonly thought when they were studying. You were glad that Jinyoung could communicate with some of your family and that they could help him and the eldest part of the family to comprehend the other and be able to have a conversation.
Your dad was now deep in conversation with your husband and uncles, making him part of the “male circle” as you often identified them as. You knew that your dad had been trying to learn both English and Korean, as well as your mom, so he could have a somewhat easy conversation with Jinyoung, something that made your heart warm, as he had never made such an effort before.
After dinner, it was time to open the Christmas gifts, making everyone reunite around the living room to start the exchange. The whole dynamic was amazing and wholesome. The kids were embellished by Jinyoung—to no one’s surprise, really—. He had every single member of your family just as wrapped around his finger as you.
The evening continued as the kids were playing with their respective gifts and the older generations were chatting while sipping a festive drink. You really tried to engage in the conversation, but Jinyoung drawing circles on your thigh with his thumb was making you sleepy. He noticed and placed a kiss on your hair.
“Do you want to go?” he asked, knowing that you were beyond tired.
Before agreeing on taking this vacation with your family, you had to finish a long to-do list. Even when you had bought the plane tickets you weren’t entirely sure that you could make it all the way here. The company you worked for had a few last-minute things to fix, and Jinyoung’s schedule suddenly had another two filming days to complete. To this day you still have no idea how you both managed to come.
You denied with your head, you were far too happy being here no matter how tired you were, “it’s ok, I can handle another hour” you whispered to his ear, “and they offered us a room here, we don’t have to go back to the hotel today.”
Jinyoung nodded and pulled you closer to him.
After spending a few days with your mom’s side of the family, you went back to your childhood town to spend New Year’s with your dad’s side of the family.
His family could be a bigger communication challenge than you could have foreseen. None of them, except for your sister, your younger cousin and your parents could effectively communicate with your husband. You weren’t about to lie and say that it didn’t matter because it did, but it wasn’t a big deal.
This time you were by Jinyoung’s side most of the time, helping him or your relatives to understand what the other meant or wanted to say. There were a few silly jokes about the Gangnam Style, the only Korean thing they could remember, making Jinyoung laugh wholeheartedly as he also liked that song.
After dining, everyone joined the games in the living room. It was a funny yet bittersweet feeling as you hoped your grandparents could meet your husband, something that had zero possibilities of happening even before you met him. Jinyoung felt your mood change and hugged you closer to him, and you let him comfort you without uttering a single word.
Between a friendly banter and laughs the night drifted to seconds before midnight. Now you were standing up, waiting for the countdown for New Year, when you heard the screams of your family as they said the numbers backwards starting from 10 you felt giddy, as you had always enjoyed this part of the celebrations.
“¡Cinco!” Jinyoung hugged you by your middle, making your body face him.
“¡Cuatro!” you were watching everyone in the room, even the pictures of those who had left this realm early on.
Your parents were looking at you both, and you smiled at them, “¡Tres!”
“¡Dos!” they tried to tell you something, but they weren’t successful at doing so as you had no clue what they were saying.
“¡Uno!” Jinyoung grabbed your chin, and now you were looking at him. He smiled, and you were lost in his shiny warm eyes.
“Feliz Año Nuevo, mi amor” he said perfectly.
Before you even had time to process what happened, he kissed you tenderly and you let him. One of his hands caressed your cheek while the other guided you to his lips, your hands were hugging him by his waist. The kiss felt eternal, even though you knew it lasted only a few seconds.
As you broke apart, your eldest aunt had a cheeky smile, “no nos dijiste que sabe hablar español.”
“Porque no sabe,” you started, “seguramente se aprendió unas cositas nada más.”
Jinyoung laughed and threw an arm over your shoulders, “me ofendes.”
Your head turned to look at him before you could notice it. You must have imagined it, he hadn’t spoken Spanish, you would have noticed it before you came to visit your family.
“¿Qué?” even your parents were endeared by your reaction, “¿ustedes ya sabían?”
Your dad laughed, “desde Navidad.”
“¿En serio no sabías?” your mom said softly.
Looking at Jinyoung with teary eyes, you smiled, “you better explain yourself.”
“Va a sonar muy tonto,” he blushed, and you knew that you had started crying softly already, overwhelmed by the surprise, “pero desde que te conocí empecé a aprender español,” his thumbs wiped your quiet but happy tears. “Son lágrimas de felicidad, ¿cierto? No soportaría hacerte llorar a menos que fuera algo feliz,” he hugged you.
You heard your sister say, “iiiii, ya va a llorar,” so you looked at her, who was mocking you for your reaction.
“Míralos, qué bonitos,” your oldest aunt said, making you blush, you had forgotten for a moment that in this house you couldn’t have a private moment even if you tried to have one.
Everyone laughed and after a few seconds you started hugging everyone in your family, watching Jinyoung speak to them with no problem.
You couldn’t believe how lucky you were by having him in your life, but that didn’t mean that you weren’t grateful for it.
a/n: as a Spanish speaker person this almost made me cry while writing it. also, even if there were some numbers spoken, here you have all the meanings of what the family said:
¡cinco! = 5 ¡cuatro! = 4 ¡tres! = 3 ¡dos! = 2 ¡uno! = 1 ¡feliz año nuevo, mi amor! = happy new year, love! no nos dijiste que sabe hablar español = you didn't tell us that he speaks Spanish porque no sabe = because he doesn't know seguramente se aprendió unas cositas nada más = he could've just learned a few things me ofendes = you offend me ¿qué? = what? ¿ustedes ya sabían? = you knew? ¿en serio no sabías? = you really didn't know? va a sonar muy tonto = it may sound silly pero desde que te conocí empecé a aprender español = but since i met you i started learning Spanish son lágrimas de felicidad, ¿cierto? no soportaría hacerte llorar a menos que fuera algo feliz = those are happy tears, right? i couldn't fathom making you cry if it wasn't for something happy iiiii, ya va a llorar = look, she's gonna cry (in Spanish we can use iiiii as a way to mocking someone) míralos, qué bonitos = look at them, aren't they cute?

Jinyoung ✧ Not you, dad!
✧ Got7 Jinyoung x fem!reader ✧ words: ~1k ✧ genre: fluff, dad!Jinyoung ✧ requested:
Tumblr media
Author's note: I don't usually write imagines about parenting, so I hope the way I wrote this is okay^^ I also thought it'd be better to have the child be a toddler who can already talk a bit and stuff!
Tumblr media
Your husband Jinyoung had already texted you about this while you were out. You had replied that everything would be fine, just give the kid her favorite toy or snack and make sure she gets her after-lunch nap. However, now that you’re finally on your way home, the issue is emerging from the back of your head, and suddenly it seems very present in your mind again.
You usually have nothing to worry about on the days you leave Jinyoung home alone with your little baby girl - even before you got pregnant you had talked about taking turns in watching the kid during the week, so you could both go back to work and do homeoffice on the not so busy days. Thankfully the companies you both work for were understanding about this, and even during times where both of you are needed to be present at work, Jinyoung’s or your parents still offered to help you out.
Today however, things don’t seem to be going according to plan. As early as your lunch break was when your husband sent you a desperate text, saying “She only wants to see you, what do I do?? 😰😰”
When you finally enter your apartment, you take the silence that greets you as a good sign. Thinking that everything mustve settled down, you take off your shoes. However, when you hear little footsteps waddling in your direction, the feeling of joy that overcomes you is soon overshadowed by the cranky face and the sobbing noises coming from your daughter.
“Mommyyyyy!” she shouts, with a face distorted in frustration. However, her features seem to relax a bit when you finally hold her in your arms and you give her a kiss on her temple.
“Did you want to see me so bad?” you ask, softening your voice like you always do when you talk to your kid. She nods, burying her face in the crook of your neck while her little hands grab onto your clothes and hair clumsily. Rocking her back and forth in your arms, you make your way to the living room, where you find your husband, who must’ve just gotten up off the floor, toys scattered around him, himself looking like a picture of misery. You suppress a chuckle at his visible pout, and while he doesn’t come running up to you like your daughter did, you can see the relief in his eyes about you finally being back from work. Instead, you walk up to him, wanting to kiss it better for him, but due to the child starting to doze off in your arms all you can do is softly bump your shoulder into his.
“She didn’t even want to eat my food…” Jinyoung eventually mumbles, the pout on his lips not disappearing. Neither does the sadness in his eyes. You smile at him, half in amusement because you were starting to have the feeling your daughter only does this when you’re the one in charge of looking after her, and half because you can relate to his pain.
“Let’s sit down for now, shall we?” you suggest, and you make your way to the sofa, both sitting down next to each other. Jinyoung lets his head sink to your shoulder, leaning on you. This time you can’t help but giggle at him.
“There, there,” you say, after sitting your daughter down in your lap so you only have to hold her with one hand, using the other to pat your husband on the thigh.
“The entire day she kept asking when you’re back, and everytime I tried to play with her or talk to her she’d start screaming and crying…” he eventually starts reciting the experiences of the day to you. “I even made her her favorite food, because I thought that would appease her a bit but she didn’t even look at it and said she only wants mommy’s food…”
“You had it rough, huh,” you comment, while feeling the bundle of warmth in your lap finally relax, assuming she’s already fast asleep. While looking at your daughter’s peacefully slumbering face, Jinyoung adds,
“She refused to sleep after lunch too… she did pass out eventually, but only for like 10 minutes,” he says, extending his hand to gently run his fingertips through her hair. “I was worried she’d feel really tired and frustrated because of that.”
“You did your best, though,” you assure him. “Plus, it’s not like she never gets cranky like that when it’s not just you watching her.”
“But then we’re both here… and even if neither of us can get her to stop screaming right away, we’re still not alone with her,” he answers. You agree with him, and once again you’re thankful that you’re in this together, and that you can always count on each other for support.
“It gets a little easier when you’re working as a team, yeah.” You too stroke your daughter’s hair, careful not to accidentally wake her up, before risking a look at your husband, stretching your neck so you can reach his lips for a kiss.
“Don’t worry,” you whisper after parting. “She sometimes has days like that. It’s happened to me too, that she only wanted to see you when I was watching her. It’s just what it is, and you don’t need to feel guilty about that, or about not getting through to her in that state.”
“You’re right… thank you.” He looks into your eyes with a sincere expression, making sure that you know he means it. Then he brings his hand up to cup your face, connecting his lips to yours again. He kisses you slowly, lips lingering on yours, and the two of you only pull away when your daughter makes a noise. For a second, you both hold your breath while looking down at her, but when it becomes clear that she was merely babbling something in her sleep, you relax again. You share another smile, before you lean your head on your husband’s shoulder, and he takes your free hand, intertwining your fingers and giving you an encouraging squeeze.
It’s not always easy being a parent, but you both know that so long as you have each other you can do anything.

GOT7 Scenario - But It’s Cute ~ Park Jinyoung
Post Date: 5th May 2022 Content: Fluff - Jinyoung x Reader WC: 773 TW? Warnings?Notes?: N/A FLUFFY GLASSES JINYOUNG / Gender neutral
Tumblr media
Hey! Thanks for the request and I hope you like it! <3
________________________________________________________________
In the entire five yours you’ve been best friends with Jinyoung, you’ve probably seen him wear a glasses only a handful of times, much to your dismay. Each time you see him with them on, your heart skips a beat, it felt wrong to fall for your best friend but when he’s in his glasses, you just melt. You’ve always found Jinyoung to be the most hansome man you’ve every laid your eyes on. Your friends were so jealous of how close the both of you were, and called you selfish for not sharing him with them, but you enjoyed the fact that you could see him when he wasn’t busy, he had enough time for you and not really anyone else.
“Ya! What do you want from the takeaway?” He asks, slapping your arm gently with the menu, throwing it into your lap as he smirks, walking away to grab his phone. “I’m not hungry!” you whine as you stare at the menu, he snaps his head around the door, sending you evils as he knew you too well, knowing you hadn’t eaten yet. He marches towards you, looking down at you with a dirty look.
“I’m. Not. Hungry,” you repeat slowly, crossing your arms and furrowing your brows, pouting like a child would. The feeling of his eyes on you made your skin itch, knowing that he wasn’t going to leave you alone until you answered him the way he expects you to. Aggressively, you grab the menu, briefly scanning over it before throwing your arm out, menu in your hand right in front of his face, “The usual” you said, feeling defeated at the fact he wouldn’t let you off this one time.
He smiles at you sarcastically as he pinches the menu off you, looking at his phone to put the order in on his phone. You finally look up at him, realising that he had his glasses on his head, rather than on his face. With a swift movement, you’re now standing right in front of him, reaching for the glasses as you try to slowly place them down over his eyes without him flinching, but mission failed.
He swats your hand out of his way as he raises an eyebrow at you, softly biting at you, “Ya, what are you doing?”, this made you giggle a little but you had to stop yourself, index fingers now touching tips as you brought your hands up to your chest, “Please wear your glasses, they look nice on you~” you say cheekily as he vigorously shakes his head at you, rolling his eyes as he goes to put the menu back in the kitchen.
“I’m not wearing my glasses” he says under his breath as he walks away, but you shout after him, “Put them on!”. “Excuse me?” he scoffs, coming back into the room, face was a picture to remember, his reaction had you giggling once again, his eyebrows were raised and his eyes were open so wide you were scared they would pop out of his skull.
“Who do you think you are talking to?” he growls, as he stood tall above you, making you gulp but the sudden urge to kiss him there and then replayed in your mind as he smiled at him, looking at him in the eyes as you inch your face closer, “You”. On tip-toes, you place a kiss on his lips, backing off before he could even react, almost instantly regretting your decisions. What if he didn’t think of you like that?.
Before you could move too far away from him, he grabs you by your waist, pulling you back in, head lowering as he goes to return the kiss. Your finger shoots up to his lips as you place it softly on them, “No, not until you put your glasses on, you look great~ in them” you say, almost teasingly. You could see he was losing the will but he did as you said anyway, flashing you a smile before finally getting the kiss he wanted.
“I hate the fact you bribed me with putting my glasses on for a kiss,” he snarls, gently biting your lip before pulling away, “You’ll only ever get a kiss if you’re wearing them” you bite playfully, placing another peck on his lips before crashing onto the couch behind you, “where’s this food, I’m hungry now” you say, ignoring him as he sits next to you.
“Do I really have to wear my glasses when I bought you food to get another kiss?” he whines lowly, as you nod at him, “Yes, yes you do”.
