Listen– listen to me. Kenji and Ben are foils to eachother's character.
Let me explain, you have this kid who was neglected by his parental figure for the majority of his childhood. He was given too much "freedom" and materialistic possessions to keep him busy and away. This kid hides behind a facade of cool confidence and constantly feels the need to prove themselves to someone.
Then there's this other kid, who had a present parental figure that insistently urged them to branch-out. A kid that was fine with hiding from the world and living in their own comfort zone. An honest kid that is also easily frightened. He was uncertain with his abilities and not intrested in proving he was "cut-out" for the outdoors.
And as the story progresses, they go through different experiences. They change as individuals but ultimately remain as foils to one another.
Everyday, Kenji becomes more uncertain with who he is as a person. He begins to question who he is without money and status. He wonders what real family means. His loyalties are questioned and tested. This boy no longer knows what it is that he wants. Kenji is held back by the past (his father) and scared of what the future holds. It's all too confusing and unclear. He doesn't know where to go and what to do.
However, with everyday Ben also changes. He becomes more certain with who he is as a person. He accepts the new him, someone free of socialtal expectations. He gains confidence in himself and recognizes his abilities. He holds his ground and states what's on his mind (staying with Bumby). Ben let's go of the past and isn't afraid to embrace whatever mystery the future holds for him.
See season 1 for example. Kenji doesn't want to admit how scared he is, so he tries to act cool and take the lead. Ben however is sharing his doubts and is jumpy but he's honest about how he feels. The last two episodes of the season completely flips the script. Ben takes the lead and does something brave, suppressing his fears. But once Ben is gone, Kenji facade fully disappears. He's honestly states he doesn't know what he's doing.
There's also season 3. Kenji's taking more responsibility. He seeks leadership roles and starts thinking more collectively. Ben is still very much part of the group but is less of a team player (due to inner turmoil). He thinks more independently and silently struggles connecting with the others again.
This is probably why they butt heads so often, right? It's clear Kenji and Ben contrast eachother but they are not complete opposites, at least that's not how I perceive it. You see, these two boys are on the same journey of self discovery and I believe that they recognize that in eachother. Even if they struggle to stay on the same page most of the time, they still get along and one can only imagine how much more solid and understanding their relationship became post-rescue.

"you know, I think I can get used to carrying you into bed every day
Claire
"you know, I think I can get used to carrying you into bed every day"
"I'm home!" You called into the apartment, pushing the door shut with your foot and turning the lock. Setting your keys down, you moved further into the apartment, stopping when you spotted Claire. She was sprawled across the couch, shoes messily kicked off and soft snores leaving her.
Chuckling softly to yourself, you set your bag down and leaned down to shake her shoulders. "Babe? Babe, last time you slept on the couch you got back pain."
"Just.. five more minutes..." She slurred her words in her daze, face scrunching up as she woke up. Her bottom lip pushed out and she gazed up at you sleepily.
"Let's get you to bed." You smiled, scooping her up into your arms and heading towards the bedroom. "You know, I think I can get used to carrying you into bed every day."
A breathy laugh escaped her and she shook her head, leaning forward to plant a kiss on your cheek. "That wouldn't be fair to you."
"I don't mind, Claire."

OMG I love the Alan Grant x reader you wrote! Please write more! He looks SO GOOD in the new film! 💕🤤
A/n: Old ask, I’m very sorry but I 1000% agree with you.
Prompt used:
[ caress ] sender soothes a nervous receiver by stroking their hands up and down receiver's arms
He was on his way to another stupid ass island, filled with something he told himself he rather not deal with again. He felt sick to his stomach and right now he would rather be on solid ground.
“Alan?”
Snapping out of his thoughts he turned his attention to you. A frown was on your lips, your brows furrowed in concern. “Are you alright.”
Flexing his hand, he cleared out his throat as he gave you a forced smile. “I’m fine. It’s just nerves you don’t gotta sorry about me alright.” Leaning over he pressed a kiss to the side of your head hearing your sigh.
You weren’t about to press the matter, you’ve been dating Alan for two years. You knew what made him tick, the things that got under his skin. Smiling, you grasped his hand, letting your thumb glide over the back off it. You did your best to sooth him and it seemed to work judging by the man exhaling, his shoulders relaxing as he then gave you a grateful smile.
“Thank you.”
Bringing his hands to your lip you face a smile shake of your head. “Of course.”

Ian Malcolm drabble #1
Prompt- “How could you let it get this bad?”
“Okay, honey, easy,” Ian laid you down on a counter in the lab, the flickering lights above revealing the obvious attempts you had made to bandage the gashes in your legs.
“Ian,” you sat up and gripped his arm as the raptor growled outside the door.
“It’s okay, the door is fingerprint protected. Last I checked raptors cannot grow hands.” Ian paused for a moment. “At least I don’t think they can.”
You whimpered as the pain grew worse, fingers digging into his arm.
Ian snapped out of it. “I’m gonna take off these bandages now,” he muttered, fingers fumbling as he pulled off the first of the crude bandages.
Ian’s breath stuttered at the sight. “How could you let it get this bad?”
“I didn’t have a choice! It was either this or be eaten!”
“Understood,” Ian scrambled around to find a med kit, setting it down by your legs. “Gee, if you sounded any more upset I’d call you an ex Mrs. Malcom.”
“If we get out of here alive you can call me anything you want.” You bit back a cry of pain as he pressed a bandage to one of the more severe wounds.
“I like the sound of that,” he muttered. “Only one thing.”
“Yeah?”
“I’d never call you ex, because I’d do everything in my power not to lose you.”

Be Prepared - Owen Grady (Pt 3)
Pairing: Owen Grady x Reader
Warnings: nope
A/N: This is officially a mini-series. There will be one or two more parts and then two follow up series for the other movies.
A guttural squawking filled the air, sending a shiver down your spine. Looking up, you saw nothing so you adjusted the rearview mirror to see the sky behind the jeep without turning in your seat. Large, dark shadows flew behind you.
“Boys, put your heads down,” you shouted and they immediately obeyed.
Owen glanced over his shoulder to see the problem. “Oh, shit.” He pressed on the accelerator to speed you along. It wasn’t as if you could actually outrun the dinosaurs that now filled the sky but at least you weren’t sitting targets. Damn, you needed your weapons. And maybe a few extras.
When you reached the gate, they opened it after recognizing you and Owen. Throngs of people filled the main courtyard of the park. This was going to be a bloodbath. Walls weren’t keeping out anything that could fly. You climbed out of the vehicle assessing the situation. “Owen.”
“Yeah, I know.” He pulled the boys to stand between you. “You two stay with us. That’s the safest place for you to be at the moment.”
“Yeah. No problem,” Zach said, his voice breathy with disbelief at what he was seeing.
You glanced at him. “And keep hold of your brother.” All you needed was to lose sight of Gray in this mess.
A voice came over the intercom telling the guests to take cover indoors. It was followed by another ordering employees to use the tranquilizers and no live ammunition. You rolled your eyes and grabbed the shirt of a passing worker. “Give me your radio. And your gun.”
You passed the tranq gun off to Owen. “Rapid fire. That’ll take the small ones down fast. There will be more ammo in the lockers over there.” You lifted the radio to your mouth. “This is ACU. Any remaining members of my team are fully authorized to use all force necessary including lethals. I repeat, targets clear of friendlies can be taken down posthaste.”
Owen grabbed the radio from you and changed the channel. “Claire, we’ve got your kids.”
You glanced at the boys in surprise. You never would have connected them to Claire.
“She’s our aunt,” Gray explained after seeing your expression.
“Who’s we?” Claire’s voice came back. Because that’s what was important right now.
Owen grinned as he looked at you. “I found my date.”
Claire said your name in disbelief. “What do you plan to do to get this situation under control?”
You snatched the radio back from Owen and returned the channel to its previous setting. “Anyone near the heavy lockers, I need my regular kit and a cannister launcher.”
“Got it, boss.” You weren’t certain which of your men answered and you didn’t particularly care beyond knowing at least one of them was still alive.
You radioed back with your exact location. Owen shifted on his feet. “Go on, Grady. I got this.”
“Are you sure?” It was obvious he didn’t want to leave you in your current condition.
You hooked the radio onto his belt. “I’ll steal another one. Go.”
He hurried off and you stopped the boys when they moved to follow. “Stay with me.”
Only a couple of minutes passed before an ACU four-wheeler pulled up beside you. You gave the man astride it a nod of thanks. “Leave the ride and your radio as well. Thanks.”
You made quick work of securing the tactical vest and extra ammo. The cannister launcher was locked in place along the side and you left it. You didn’t have any use for it until you found Chompy again. Your sidearm was in your thigh holster. A rifle slung over your shoulder and the tranq gun laid in your lap as you settled in place to drive. “Hop on and hold on,” you instructed the boys, gesturing to the handles in place along the side of the seats.
When you reached the main avenue, you slid to a stop. Your gaze found Owen fighting with a Pterandon as he tried to keep his face from getting chewed off. You swung the rifle around and placed a round right through its head. Owen’s head jerked in your direction and you gave him a little salute. He was on his feet a moment later, another two and he had your face in his hands as his lips found yours.
“You guys do that a lot,” Zach said interrupting the moment.
Before you could respond, Gray called out to Claire. You all turned to find her rushing in your direction on those ridiculous heels. She hugged her nephews after making certain they were fine. Then she looked between you and Owen. “We have a problem.”
The problem, it turned out, was Hoskins and InGen’s security division taking over the park. And as Hoskins was a giant ass, he wanted to use the raptors to hunt the Indominus. Fucking moron. Owen was furious.
Claire insisted on coming with you to the raptor paddock. When you arrived, she jumped out with Owen while you stayed in the jeep with the boys. The first thing Owen did was deck Hoskins. That brought a smirk to your face. Hoskins was a dick.
“What are they fighting about?” Zach asked after watching the small group yell at each other for awhile.
“Hoskins-he’s the one Owen punched-wants to use the raptors as a weapon. It’s going to come back to bite him in the ass and everyone knows it but him,” you explained.
Gray leaned forward so you could see him better. “I thought Owen was in charge of the raptors.”
“He is, but technically In-Gen owns them. There’s not a lot he can do about it.” You sighed, a sick feeling settling in your belly. More people were going to die.
When they finished their argument, Owen came over and opened your door. “Come on. We’re having a meeting and I want you in attendance.”
Claire climbed in with the boys from the other side as Owen helped you out. You grabbed the launcher and gas cannisters to bring with you. You winced as you put weight on your bad leg and he lifted you up to carry you bridal style. “Why, Mr. Grady, you’ve plum swept me off my feet.”
He huffed a laugh and a smirk settled on his lips. It wasn’t a full-fledged smile but you’d take what you could get at this point. He set you on your feet when you arrived at a table surrounded by Hoskins team. Every one a military man that knew nothing about asset containment.
You laid the weapons on the table beside the map. Owen arched a brow and shot you a look but didn’t say anything about it before launching into his talk. “Alright. We know she’s in section five. This is a game we call Hide and Seek. It’s a scent drill they’ve done about a thousand times. When they lock-on, and they will lock-on, wait to engage.”
Your gaze ran around the table making sure everyone was paying attention. This was dangerous enough without adding more stupidity to the equation.
“Raptors are pack hunters. They’ll herd their prey into a kill box. That’s when you take your shot. You have one active target. Do not shoot my raptors. Please.” He glanced at you. “Anything to add, sweetheart?”
“There’s a reason she’s in sector five. It’s mostly dense forest. She can hide her heat signature and can completely blend with the environment. I am talking full camouflage. Don’t trust your eyes.” Several of the men exchanged a look of disbelief and there were a couple of laughs.
“If I were you, I’d listen to what she has to say. She’s far more informed than any of you,” Barry, Owen’s raptor assistant said.
“And just who are you?” one of them asked you. “I don’t remember Hoskins introducing you.”
Owen’s brows lifted and he rubbed a hand over his mouth wisely choosing to allow you to respond for yourself.
“I am the head of the ACU. Unlike all of you, I have experience hunting dinosaurs. And unlike Hoskins who is undoubtedly hiding in a control room somewhere, I go into the field. This bitch killed my entire team and almost took me with them. She’s the reason I’m bleeding all over the fucking park.” You leaned forward to make sure they were paying attention and to take some of the weight off your leg. “Make no mistake, she is not an animal, gentlemen. She’s a weapon. Her hide is nearly impenetrable. She’s lethally smart and has a thirst for blood. Aim for her eyes or use heavy ammo.”
You gave them a minute to let that sink in. “Who’s the best shot on your team?”
They all pointed to bearded man that raised his hand. You laid your hand on the launcher and cannisters. “These are lethal gas cannisters. Pull the pin. Drop it in and fire straight into the mouth. They are designed to counteract an enzyme placed in the DNA. A last ditch destruction method. Do not miss. The gas won’t kill humans but it will make you sick as hell. And it will take out the raptors so don’t fucking miss.”
“Yes ma’am.” He took the weapons to secure them.
The meeting was called to an end and Owen immediately picked you up again. “I feel better if you’d stayed at the medical center.”
“And I’d feel better if Chompy hadn’t gotten hold of me. Guess we’re both shit out of luck. You need me, even if I’m not in fighting form. Besides the doc repacked the wound and wrapped everything.” He also gave you several injections to carry with you for pain and you’d stolen a couple of adrenaline shots when no one was paying attention. Owen didn’t need to know everything.
“Claire is insisting on coming along. Sort of. They’re going to be in one of the trucks.”
“The kids are coming?”
He laughed. “Yeah. They don’t want to be separated from the two of us.”
You nodded and gave a small smile. “Put me in the back. Give me a tablet, an earpiece and my guns and I’ll be good.”
“You got it, sweetheart.”
