Here is part two of my manga list! This time, it's all about cats!

Yokai Cats

This series is very easy to read, and it also teaches you about yokai from Japanese folklore. The cats in this manga are based on a variety of yokai, and they even have the same gimmicks as their ancient counterparts!

Favorite Character: Shiro

Junji Ito's Cat Diary

This is the very first Junji Ito book I've ever read. It mixes the cute with the creepy, and it's also an autobiography about the author and his wife taking care of their cats. I really appreciate how Ito uses horrific elements for comedy to show how wild his cats are.

Chi's Sweet Home and Chi's Sweet Adventures

Chi's Sweet Home is the most popular cat manga to ever exist, and it's very cute! This series is soft and peaceful, so that's why it made me feel warm inside. Chi is probably the most adorable cat I've ever seen in fiction.

Chi's Sweet Adventures is a spinoff, and it was just as good. It was also very easy to read, and the way the panels were positioned reminded me of the ones in Yokai Cats. It also counts as a timeskip because Yohei, the only child in the Yamada family, is a bit older now.

Favorite Characters: Chi and Blackie

Sue and Tai-Chan

This is another series by Konami Kanata, who is the creator of Chi's Sweet Home. It takes place in a different household, and it tells the tale of an old cat and an energetic kitten forming a bond. It's just as heartfelt (and silly) as Chi's Sweet Home, and the titular characters are basically Chi and Blackie with the roles reversed.

Favorite Character: Tai-chan

That's all I have for cat manga! Cats are very cute... but the manga that'll be featured in the final list are not-so-cute.

Konami Kanata’s Sue & Tai-chan is the super cute, fun, and easy-to-read first entry in an adorable cat manga series. I love the adorable art and the cats’ funny adventures. This is a perfectly happy and wholesome book for readers of all ages!

Senior housecat Sue is content to lazily live out her days as an only cat with owner Natsuki. However, Sue’s peaceful life is soon disrupted by the arrival of mischievous tomcat kitten Tai-chan! The book follows the cats’ adventures as they get to know each other and get up to many kitty hijinks!

This happy book is a light and entertaining read with just 16 chapters. Each simple and easy-to-follow chapter is a somewhat self-contained new adventure. Sue and Tai-chan engage in typical cat activities but Kanata imbues even the simplest things with joy and humour. There are many relatable, aww-worthy, and hilarious moments. Poor Sue can’t take a nap, eat, or sunbathe in peace! I couldn’t help but smile and giggle at all of Tai-chan’s antics! I loved Tai-chan tasting his way around the apartment, both cats having a misadventure in the human bathroom (there is water but it ends well!), Tai-chan discovering a gigantic watermelon, and, of course, the inevitable but still sweet and natural bonding between Sue and Tai-chan.

I just love the cute, fun, and colourful panels! The artwork is clean and adorable with gentle watercolors. I like all the lovely details and I especially appreciate that the panels aren’t cluttered at all. Energetic Tai-chan is super adorable with his big eyes and excited little face. I love grumpy Sue and her range of exasperated and shocked expressions. I really like how the colourful and fun typography matches and nicely enhances the pets’ actions and emotions.

Sue & Tai-chan is a lovely and quick read that will be sure to put a smile on your face. I cannot wait to get my hands on the rest of the series.

Aw I was gonna take a picture of Anne Rice's The Mummy and say "green or blue" but all the pictures are blue it's driving me crazy holding my phone against the cover and seeing two different colors I hate art. Come into me and look out of my eyes

Also it always makes my desk gray instead of gun metal green it even actually has a little bit of blue!

I think what happens is "dark aqua" sounds dumb, "ocean/lake green" is too poetic, and cyan is not a print color only a light color, so digital photographs (light) of print books turn cyan. Blue jade, blue emerald, jungle blue. Teal isn't this "bright" it's not teal. I'd except "light aqua" for a lot of these but it is annoying that it's ROY G ABV unless blue is aqua and indigo is navy blue?

Comic Book Saturday

These cats and kittens, well, they are part of the Evil Secret Society of Cats, whose point in life is to teach the humans to fear them. Some of their schemes are sorta close to being scheme-ey, but, others of them are just hilariously cute. These cats, (was very glad for the gallery of characters as the beginning of the book) are complex, cute, sometimes slightly evil (but a lot of time in only the best way), and just get into some problems (and make some too). So cute.

As an aside and weirdly, I somehow missed that this was manga. But, that’s neither here nor there. It was such a fun book. Both for those who are super fans of cats (hi) as well as those who may not like them quite as much. And, have I said this before (or two or three times in this blurb) sooo cute.

KOKIA in flashback - 2000

Moving into the new century, KOKIA stops releasing music under the Ponyo Canyon label in 2000. She doesn't release any albums or singles with only her name on the cover, but instead collaborates, mostly with Ryuichi Kawamura's ЯKS production project, providing the vocals for five songs total. hope ur test went alright!! ohh relationship dynamics... i dont want to give a specific descriptor to any of the platonic dynamics im about to list but off the top of my head i like all of knights dynamics but esp izuleo, natsumugi, natsusora (< ? idk the name for this), chiaki and kanata (< IDK THE NAME FOR THIS ONE EITHER?), mikashu, shumugi bc i love how much shu hates tsumugi, admittedly angie and dove made me start to enjoy wataei... idk im not rlly picky and i enjoy a lot of stuff but if i had to choose one id pick izuleo.

I LIKE SILENT HILL!! ive never been able to play it myself bc konami fucking sucks ass but if its ever ported id love to give it a try.
