The sand silbings are definitely the type of silbings who seem distant between each other, but are actually helpful and loving between each other.

Kankuro wakes up late at night to make coffee for Gaara and go back to bed. Temari stitching her brother's torn clothes after a mission. Gaara growing poisonous plants, so Kankuro can have a endless supply of poison for his needles.

And those three are each other wing-man. Gaara schedule his sister's arrival home to correlate with Team 10 visiting Suna. Kankuro hangout with Choji and Gaara will discuss botany with Ino. Allowing Temari to spend time alone with Shikamaru.

A week before Team Gai visit Suna, Kankuro help Gaara with paperwork. Temari dragging Gaara to bed. She debate with him to at least relax his body, so he can have energy to hangout with Lee.

Gaara assign Kankuro as his bodyguard when he have to attend a Kage meeting located at Kumogakure. Temari trimming Kankuro's hair a day before he leave, scolding him he should look presentable (not for the meeting, but for his date with Omoi).

I was in class, but I didn't feel like listening to my French teacher. I couldn't concentrate, as usual I was thinking way too much. Ah, to tell the truth, it's not that I think a lot about the possibilities that I fail, it's just considered. OK, maybe I'm thinking way too much.

But how I could concentrate or not consider the fact that I should perhaps declare myself. Silk what could go wrong in a statement?

Maybe this sunny weather could turn into a disaster. maybe he wouldn't even come! Maybe he doesn't like the fact that I asked him to find me after school. Maybe he doesn't like me being unoriginal in choosing to go behind school to tell him. what if he hadn't understood that I was going to declare myself to him? What if he wasn't gay? What if I change my mind and he thinks I'm a coward? I'm not a coward I'm considering just in case.

What if he didn't like me and didn't know me? maybe he ignored me thinking the request was from a girl. I should have signed the letter with my last name and class in addition to my first name. What if he knew me and didn't like me at all.

and let's say I fall down the stairs or slip in the toilet before going to see him. What if I'm considering doing that there's something to do rather than see me? And if I had an impediment.

Teacher: classes are over, see you on Monday.

omoi: I'm not ready.

Karui: omoi, you're always worrying for nothing.

Omoi: But Karui, let's say-

Karui: let's say you don't tell him anything, then let's say I kill you for it. Will it make you happy?

Omoi: no.

I put my things away with sweaty palms. What if my clothes get stained before I get to see it? What if he didn't come at all? What if I was a coward, really, a coward. Can I turn around? Nah, I'm brave, it turns out he's waiting for me with beating heart in the hope of seeing me. I am the great omoi after all.

kankuro: omoi!

Omoi: oh my god... Sorry god.

Kankuro: is that you? Who asked me to come.

Omoi: do you know me?

Hi there! About the ships, I wanted to suggest: Omoi x Kankuro. It's just that when I think bout the war arc, and we know how nervous and anxious poor Omoi was, and then Kankuro gave them that motivational speech to help his comrades feel better and it probably helped motivate Omoi to keep fighting, and I just imagine him getting a crush on Kankuro afterwards, like "wow, this guy is actually super cool". I also like Kankuro with Sai for a similar reason, like that one scene where he wants to think of a nickname for Kankuro is hilarious 😂.

Other than that, I also like to imagine that the next gen Ino-Shika-Cho (Inojin, Cho-Cho and Shikadai) admire Kankuro for that reason too. Like, if Sai and Omoi ever told the kids about how they fought besides Kankuro in the war, I can imagine them like, becoming big fans of him. And Shikadai is his nephew so ofc he respects his uncle, but that admiration is probably also balanced by all the embarrassing stories Tem probably tells her son bout Gaara and Kank (obviously stories from after Gaara was better and they started getting along again).

Sorry for ranting! I just wanted to propose my own rare pairs so I apologize for bothering. And by the way, I also agree that Kakagai are best canon/non-canon couple. Like they're married fr in Boruto, no one can change my mind bout that.

I do love the thought of Kankuro inspiring Omoi to keep pushing forward and have some confidence in himself. Kankuro is a very confident (downright cocky at times) shinobi and he’s more than happy to remind people of their skills. He has been a solid support for Gaara during his journey to change.

And Sai always needs some more love. Poor boy doesn’t have nearly enough ships he’s so adorable and trying so hard to fit in. Kankuro has seen that struggle first hand with Gaara (and probably had a but of it himself as the Kazekage’s son and then the new Kazekage’s brother) so he’d make a great fit with Sai. Plus his eccentric personality really fits well with Sai’s more chill personality

This is also what triggered the current writing of Haemorrhage since it starts tackling Kankurou's history of addiction and the evolution of his relationship with his siblings.

I will admit the porn-to-plot ratio of that one is a bit weird but it just- it happened like that haha. It's a KakaGai fic about Gai cutting and caring for Kakashi's hair. An exploration of vulnerability and self-care with some dysphoria sprinkled on top. It happens post-Land of Wave arc, and there is also a discussion of Kakashi's feelings regarding having his team, having killed Haku, etc... I found it frustrating that we've gotten so little of Kakashi's reaction to these events because I can't imagine how fucking traumatic and triggering Haku doing the exact thing Rin did must have been. (Not to mention, you know, the fact that he murdered a kid in front of kids?) So I wrote about it. But they also fuck in the middle. That's the fic.

A Night to Unwind

The Five Kages go out for a fun evening for food, drinks, and a movie in Konohagakure. It's a rare chance to unwind amongst peers and romance blossoms in the most unexpected of places.

Besides my rare pair indulgence of Chojuro/Gaara there's also some Darui/Kurotsuchi and Kankuro/Omoi.

“I have kind of always thought about trying something casual,” Omoi said while eating. “You know, like friends with benefits or something,” he said more quietly, hoping only Kankuro could hear.

“Is that so?” Kankuro asked, suddenly very interested. “Ever find anyone to indulge?”

“You know, I haven’t. It’s kind of a hard thing to bring up, I guess.”

“Well, you’re bringing it up now. I, um. Well I think it’s a good idea.” Kankuro was grateful for the paint on his face. His face felt hot. Was he really trying to proposition sex in front of the Five Kages? Kankuro leaned in a little closer to Omoi, leaning to whisper in his ear, or at least, speak quietly over the noisy din of the restaurant. “I’d indulge you,” he said, and pulled away and grinned at him suggestively.

Omoi was stunned, face full of color. “I-I…um…I need another drink I think.”
