I am absolutely in love with your accidental courtship au, its a delight.
I dont know what species you're planning for Dream, but I'm imagining he tells Techno after all the cards are on the table, hes had time to process and they're both aware and on board with a courtship so Techno can finally follow the correct customs.
That, or, au of an au, Techno accidentally follows Dreams culture and Dream is absolutely gobsmacked. Like its an obscure culture and something Very strange to do unless you know it, even for Techno.
Dream doesnt, like, really realize Techno is courting him, hes way too busy mad pin board solving How The Hell Techno a) found out what Dream is and b) found the customs, like hes an ender dragon or something who no outsider know jack shit about
Eventually it'll kick him in the head that oh god, Techno is flirting with me. Eventually.
okay, so, here's the thing: dream doesn't know what he is. like, he doesn't remember his very early childhood. he figures he had someone taking care of him at some point, but he doesn't remember anything about them. he was on his own a lot when he was younger, until he befriended sapnap who eventually dragged him to bad, and he'd been with them ever since.
so, he doesn't know what he is. bad's from a very old, practically dead culture; demons just... aren't around anymore. just like how phil comes from the elytrians which also aren't around anymore. sapnap is blazeborn, so bad tried very hard to be mindful and respectful of that and teach him blazeborn culture. but none of them know what dream is. so, dream isn't sure what culture he's from. he (and sapnap, honestly) identifies a lot with demon culture, and he lives according to a lot of their customs because bad had shared his culture with him. but he still doesn't feel that it is wholly his culture, y'know?
he has some customs that he still follows from when he was really little. he doesn't remember who taught it to him, but it feels right.
to be clear: techno did try demon courtship rituals. and blazeborn courting rituals. and human courting rituals. all of which dream does know about, but it just never clicked in his mind that that's what techno was doing. dream just figured techno was misinterpreting the cultures in his attempts to find new ways to expand their rivalry to include cultures dream connects to. a touching gesture, even if it's a bit off (you'll find this is a common thought they have about each other).
as for what dream is... I think he's probably from the end in some way. he's very very humanoid, but his night vision is beyond that of a normal human's, and he's faster and more agile than a normal human, too. he doesn't mention it often, but he also has more of an affinity to magic and enchanting.
bad doesn't know what he is, but bad's also from the nether, and, whatever dream is, it's something that even bad wouldn't know.
but phil. well, phil's elytrian. he's from the end. of course he'd know what dream is. he figures it out around doomsday. he then, of course, tells techno, and techno tries those courtship rituals. how unfortunate that courtship rituals are not one of the things dream remembers about that culture lmao.
(there are some things, though, that kinda trigger memories within dream, and, like you said, he's absolutely baffled at how techno knows these things. except dream doesn't know that these things are a courting ritual, he just recognizes pieces of it. and then he's too preoccupied figuring out how techno knows).

I am. So hyped for your new au!!!!!!
It has me giddy, oh my god. Incredible worlbuilding Sif, it really drew me in. All the gods killing children so they can stay immortal forever...
I wonder how much XD tells Dream growing up. If Dream is fully aware of the plan.
Oh XD tells c!Dream absolutely fucking nothing. Literally nothing. Dream has no idea he's a godling. He barely knows gods exist. He only finds out XD is a god midway through the Dream SMP. Dream thought XD was jut a weird guy.
It's not out of forgetfulness or not wanting Dream to be prepared, it's a matter of survival. Part of how the mask works is it separates Dream from his own budding abilities as a godling, and it's more effective because he doesn't know that power is there. If he did know it was there then he might knowingly or accidentally reach for it. Even if he just did it for a moment, it could be enough for the other gods to take notice or worse, for the mask to be broken. XD can't take that risk, so he tells Dream as little as possible and invents excuses to get him to do what needs to be done.
XD also kind of accidentally is always shittalking other gods and talking about them very, very casually. It leads to Dream having a shit ton of hubris constantly but not even on purpose, it's just like, how he grew up. And because literally no god wants to fuck around with a human favored by XD and risk getting on his bad side, he 100% gets away with his hubris every time. Gives Phil a fucking heart attack the first time he hears Dream called the God of Death "Kristen" because that name is only known to a few people, and even Tommy & Wilbur still call her "the God of Death" when around other people. He assumes that Tommy must've slipped up, but in reality Dream just listened to XD bitch about "Kristen" being nosy for most of his life. Phil asked Kristen about it once and she just laughed and said she's not offended. She actually prefers Kristen if anything, but it's easier to do her job when humans see her as a mythical figure.

Can I ask for 5 headcanons of an au where Izuku's quirk is "soulmate", which lets him use the abilities of his close friends, including their quirks? Its up to you how the quirk defines close friends
1- the rules of Izuku's quirk are thus: he may use the abilities of his soulmate, including their quirk, as long as he has been in physical contact with them in the last 24 hours. Soulmate allows for single use at a time, and that person must be in a reciprocated close relationship of affection and understanding for it to work. He cannot use the abilities to hurt the soulmate- and if they try to hurt him, that means they are no longer someone he can get abilities from.
2- For a while, Izuku just thought he had Inko's quirk. Then two things happened. First, Izuku suddenly used explosion one day, and delightedly turned to Katsuki, who was stunned, wary of the copy. Second, Inko went on a birthday retreat for a couple days. The day Katsuki turned on him for to stop him bullying another kid was the day Izuku realized he could no longer use explosion or attraction- at least he got the second one back. It was a dramatic week for him, and Inko took him to a specialist when she got back.
3- Izuku never takes a soulmate for granted again. He's horribly aware that they can leave him easier than he could them. He really only has his mother, and while he's great at using her quirk, he isn't sure if he'll be able to forever- she wants him safe, would she let him be a hero, and even if he is, would he need to stay with her, rely on a touch a day to borrow her quirk? What if something happens to her? So he makes many contingency plans for just in case, and he keeps practicing both.
4- when All Might saves him, Izuku asks if he can manage as a hero if he's just borrowing other's quirks. Toshi is like "<.< Hey what do you mean, borrow?" And Izuku explains. Now, Toshi's gotten plenty of letters from kids, from lonely kids. And when Izuku explains that he only has his mother, and even then, for how long, Toshinori realizes part of what it is. He tells Izuku not to worry, because he will find more people to love him, middle school just isn't the ideal environment for that. Try for a hero school, he seems like a sweet and smart kid even if he's reckless, he'll meet like minds there, friends, soulmates. He'll have more people to rely on than just his mother, and if she's a half decent mother, she'll love him forever too. (He does not say Izuku could do it alone, or without a quirk. Just that he won't be alone, doesn't need to worry about it.)
And then Izuku throws himself in danger for a soulmate who rejected him, and super strength rips through him as his and Toshi have the same brainwave.
5- All Might offers him OfA anyway- to have as his own, and not need to worry about losing it, ever. Izuku trains. He gets into UA. True to Toshinori's words, he does make more friends and more soulmates, using Zero G at the USJ.
Though, OfA and Soulmate have a weird interaction.
One, it seems to go both ways- Toshinori's time doesn't decrease anymore as long as Izuku's been in contact. It doesn't go down until Kamino, when the spark goes out beyond what Soulmate can fuel.
Then, everything is normal for months... Until the joint training, when Black Whip tendrils burst out of Uraraka's arms, because... Well, One For All quirks can be shared, and it goes both ways.

Trick or treat!!!!!
Hurray! Snippet of my latest fic:
“At least tie your hair up.”  Hisui scooped Lizel’s hair into a bundle at the back of his head and pulled a hair tie out of his pocket to secure it. “Thank you,” Lizel said with a smile.  He seemed about to say something else, but he was distracted by something behind Hisui.

🍭 - Favorite things to write about
trope-wise: found family always. unconventional interpersonal relationships? queerplatonic relationships are a huge favorite because i'm in one myself. love (in all its forms) is very, very fun to write. i fucking love poetry and am trying to improve my voice and hone my style.
more specifically to the mcyt fandom, i like... writing characters into situations you wouldn't really expect to see them in? and creating characters and backstories that aren't necessarily what you first think of when you imagine the character. luca (my tma crossover series) has been a sort of exercise in that because i have to get creative in a system that doesn't fit neatly into the established world of the dsmp.

Every so often i remember one of your aus and become fully obsessed for a few hours. I am having the time of my life imagining end of and era where the minds of the vestiges jump back too, and Izuku talks with them like he did in the vigilante arc. He could have someone to rant with about afo's bullshit <33
Not going to lie I also do that, and wildly, i was reading through end of an era like 5 minutes ago!
I don't think I ever mention what the vestiges are up to, so this is like, shrodinger's canon lmao. I like to imagine this version of the au sees an even more maladjusted Izuku, considering he and the vestiges have all been through enough shit they don't really know where to draw the line between normal and wildly fucked up. He is better socially though, because hes got a cheer squad in the back of his head reminding him not to be weird about things.
He got like, a full bowl of fluffy, perfectly white rice from lunch rush for the first time in years and almost had a massive breakdown in the cafeteria (he'd been unintentionally avoiding foods they hadn't been able to eat as they'd either run on stolen goods (risky) or subsistence farming (vulnerable)). Nana is there patting his back when Yoichi cheerfully talks about the time he puked eating white rice because he'd gone on a 2-week hunger strike and forgot how much sugar was in rice when he started eating again.
Wildly, it helps.
This au also features a lot of really scary muttering from Izuku about murder plans. His friends desperately do not want him to be put on a list so whenever someone comes over they start talking really loudly to cover up the violence-heavy conversation Izuku seems to be having with himself. They all think the plans are for Bakugo and not one of them thinks they should warn him.
Boy had it coming.
(In reality, its how Izuku relieves stress with the vestiges. Its also great bonding.)

Daisy grinned, showing her gap tooth. “A daisy for Daisy,” she declared, taking the daisy and very carefully sticking it in her hair, right behind her ear. “Daisies are my favourite flower, prob’ly. But maybe I’m— wait, what’s the word for when you’re already gonna choose one because you know it’s what you like?”
George and Dream both frowned in thought. It took them a minute to get the word.
“Biased,” Dream said eventually, “is that it? Biased?”
“Yeah! Based!” Daisy beamed. “Maybe I’m based. ‘Cause my name’s Daisy. So I might be based.” When George snickered at the mispronunciation, she looked over, bemused. “What’s funny?”
And, when Dream opened his mouth to correct her, George shook his head, grinning.
“You are based,” he agreed gravely, “you got it right, Daisy. Yeah, you’re… based.”

Twisted nightmare au:
Does dream and bad try to stop canon from happening? I could see some things changing but not enough to stop the og timeline (love your au <3)
At first they think their timelines split early on, before the creation of L’Manburg. They know the disc wars happened in both timelines after all, although it was only in one that they became something decidedly more deadly. Their world continued on, all the same people joining the server around the same times, but not being dropped into the chaos of the other timeline.
When Wilbur makes his hot-dog van, Dream becomes convinced that it’s all going to happen in their world as well, every death, every war. Bad suspects otherwise.
He’s noticed something familiar about Wilbur lately, in how he seems to be more tired than usual, in how he flinches at loud sounds, in the look he sometimes gets in his eyes. He even asks Philza to check on him, and he reports back that Wilbur seems to be having nightmares— nightmares every night.
He goes with Dream when he decides to confront Wilbur, hoping desperately that he’s wrong, that it’s all just an unpleasant coincidence.
When they arrive, Wilbur smiles at Dream, something unhinged in his smile.
“Dream. You’re finally here. My hero…”
-
Also technically @karokatten came up with the concept, I’m just writing it out

For @karokatten! I was your secret Santa! Hope you like it! @dreamsclock
It was said that when gods, spirits, and others of the kind had no more use, they disappeared. This was true sometimes, but not always. Some would retire. Leave and enjoy the rest of their existence, no matter how long or short and be free of the bonds humans put on them. And some are simply stronger. Held on longer. Lived long past their use.
Dream supposed that was the case for the two newcomers. They'd begun building a home on his land. Cold and barren as it was. He'd supposed it was too much to ask for to finally be left alone, even if deep down he knew it wasn't really what he'd wanted. The entity hadn't had much contact with others in a long time, so he didn't recognize what or who they were, senses rusty from misuse. But he could guess that the tall, piglike being was a god of some decent level and the other winged being was some powerful spirit. The taste of their power was familiar if strange. And it took a week of watching them to realize it was the aura of blood and death. Dream had nothing against entities of that kind. If his memory served he had been akin to them at one time. But his reconnaissance was coming to an end. And to find out what his options were, he'd have to ….talk to them.
He pulled his shakey humanoid form into something more solid and human. His shapeshifting hadn't quite left him yet, even after all these years. Even if his other powers failed. Such was the fate of the forgotten too stubborn to fade and die. Or in his case, unable to. And while he could wait for these two to finally die or move somewhere else, Dream was lonely. And as foolish as it was, he hoped even a brief conversation would soothe that ache so he could go back to lurking in his cave, waiting for the world to end or for whatever higher being created him to finally remember he existed.
His face, which he knew he couldn't get right, instead morphed to look like a mask. Old memories forming the smile and eyes and white smooth surface. Wrapping his green "cloak" around himself, he crossed the hill into the small dip that sheltered the hint from most of the wind. Knocking, he gazed through the shutters, catching a glimpse of movement and warm light. The door swung open to reveal the tall piglike creature, staring at him with dark eyes.
"Phillll, there's a homeless green blob on the deck."
Dream sputtered. Managing to grit out, "Rather rude to say to the person who's land you built your house on."
Surprisingly the former god's eyes softened. "What's a settlement guardian doing all the way out here? I don't see a home to protect. Or anything like that. Come inside, it's cold. And you're letting the heat out." The taller guided Dream in, despite the protest. Stepping into the threshold sent an immediate wave of calm, peace and a sense of protectiveness washed through him. Deep to his core.
"Who's this then?" The winged man asked, looking up from a pot on the stove.
"Another retiree like us. 'Cept he's homeless and it isn't right to leave someone to freeze."
Dream groaned, already feeling fond, "I've been fine for years."
Phil shook his head, picking up a teapot and pouring a mug for Dream, offering it. "So are you a spirit?"
"Pretty sure he's a home guardian, Phil. The disrespect these days." The last part was muttered.
Dream shrugged, "I'm adaptable. I've done many things. I was a protector originally yes. I watched over a settlement a long time ago. I had a home in the center, they called it the community house. And well. Nothing bad happened, don't look at me like that. Eventually everyone moved on. Went to new places. Moved to greener lands. So I became a wanderer. Then some...demigod? Or abouts of survival. Became a guardian again. During a time of war. People forget home guardians aren't peaceful." He surprised himself when he moved his mask aside to drink the tea.
Phil nodded, "I was and still am, the Angel of Death." And Dream's confusion he explained, "I would take souls to the afterlife. And sometimes hunt down those that defied Lady Death. I'm taking a bit of a break, mate." He adjusted his wings as he leaned back in his seat.
Techno groaned, "Man, alright I'm a war god. Righteous war. Mind you. Against tyranny and wrongful governments. And well. I'm tired of fighting. And people trying to kill me for glory." He snorted, petting the head of a white fox that curled in his lap. "I'm all for choosing your own path and I choose this."
Dream nods. He understands, he knew what it was like to have pressing expectations. He'd grown to enjoy the peace of his snowy isolated home, and he was starting to believe he'd enjoy these newcomers' company. His irritation at his solitude being invaded was fading. The pair convinced him with ease to stay for dinner. Over the stew they swapped stories. Dream telling his time of being a necromancer. They didn't ask many prying questions, and he returned the politeness. By the time the meal was finished it had grown dark, with the snow falling faster.
Dream made to leave, but was shoved back into the couch and handed a thick blanket. As Techno explained, immortal or not, he was not sending a "homeless teletubby" into a snowstorm. Dream bickered back, but the taller one ignored his argument. Banking the ashes of the fire and blowing out most of the lanterns. And while Dream didn't need sleep, it was the coziest and best rest he'd had in years.
----
He awoke before everyone else. In a half haze if old instincts he stood. Not noticing his form had changed he began patrolling the house, walking quietly around the first floor then up the stairs. Both residents were safe. He walked back down. Outside. Patrol the outside. Check for threats. Protect.
---
Technoblade was not surprised to wake up to Dream patrolling. While it had been awhile since he met a home guardian, he knew of their habits well. They liked routine and would get quickly attached to a place. The old god would be lying if he said he hadn't felt pity for an unattached guardian. And the long running mostly joke partially serious plan to build a retirement community of gods and spirits who rejected the fate society gave them had to start somewhere. Looking through his chest, he pulled out an old cloak and bracelet. When befriending a home guardian and asking them to stay and protect your land it was best to give an offering. And while technically above Dream, he respected all beings equally if they'd earned it. And Dream definitely had earned it.
----
Dream accepted the position. And everything felt right.
----
It had been two months and Dream had added his home to a slowly growing community. A minor justice goddess named Niki stumbled upon them, lost one day and after some consideration joined them. Next came Ranboo. A nature spirit driven from his home. He was safe now though and Dream had taken an almost mentorship roll, teaching the younger to protect the portal they'd found nearby. Dream's form had stabilized into pupiless green eyes, sharp teeth and dark claws, long white hair and freckles. Tall and lean he looked alive and healthy now.
----
Dream and Technoblade sat on the roof, watching the stars. There was a snowstorm rolling in, but for now they watched the stars. The guardian shifted, settling back. It's good to be home.

In the Dreamon au, how does reconnecting go? You said Dream has a hard time due to the year+ he spent scared of emotional connection, but what about the other side?
George seems like he would go back to usual right away, but what about Sapnap? Ponk? Karl? What about Tommy, who was arguably the most hurt by Dream's actions?
Okay, so c!Dream in the dreamon AU post-waking up from sorta being dead is absolutely determined to prove that he can logic his way out of being traumatized by being possessed and forced to actually murder people to keep them safe. He killed the Dreamon, so everything is fine now, he doesn't need to think about how far he/other people were willing to go under the influence of the dreamon. Everything. Is. Fine. Obviously, it's fine if other people need time to process stuff, but clearly, he's got it all under control.
This makes it hard for other people to start handling their own emotions in regards to Dream in particular, since he's in this place of denying his own trauma.
c!George does take it the easiest, on account of having been in a magically induced coma for the majority of events. XD just lets him wake up finally and it's just like:
c!George, having just woken up from a weird magic nap: "Sapnap, I'm breaking Dream out of prison, I'm sick of waiting to get him back."
c!Sapnap, who only just learned that George's napping was magically induced: "Great news about that-"
So, George handles it relatively well. All he needs to hear is that Dream got possessed and didn't mean what he said, and he's back by his side.
Sapnap... Okay, so at the start of things, Sapnap wants to buy into the idea that everything can be okay now. Dream killed the dreamon, clearly that was the root of all the problems, everything is fine now.
Only, it's not. It's really, really not. And he picks up on it not being okay a lot faster than George does. He also finds out about the whole Torture thing, and starts to realize that despite Dream's denial, there is a rift formed between them that he doesn't know how to mend. He wants to try though. He doesn't want to let Dream slip through his fingers again. So Sapnap takes to protecting Dream where he can, to walking him around places so he won't get accidentally hit by mobs, to keeping other people away when he can tell Dream can't really handle interaction. He and c!Punz basically take shifts trying to make sure Dream is okay. It's not much, but they do make very slow progress.
As for c!Tommy, he's a whole different beast. Now, as stated previously, c!Tommy is one of the people whose memories got heavily influenced by the Dreamon & DreamXD. With the Dreamon dead, that influence fades and is released respectively, meaning he now remembers events differently. Tommy starts to get bothered by his memories. Thinking them through over and over again. Like a VHS that changes just a little bit every time you watch it. Not enough for you to pinpoint what was wrong, but enough that you know something is very wrong.
One of the biggest things that starts to change in his memories is Hope the prison cat. Previously, Tommy remember being in the prison with Dream, and there being a cat with them. Dream named the cat. It was Tommy's cat. It was Dream's cat. Tommy killed the cat.
As Tommy goes over his memories again, he stops being sure that Hope was a cat. Were they a cat? Or one of those fucked up dogs? Or maybe Hope was a rat. Could be any of them. All he's sure about is that something else was in that cell with them. Hours of going over his memories later, and Tommy is sure now that there never was a cat. No animals at all. But there was something.
There was never any Hope in that cell. What was in there was never Tommy's, it was always Dream's monster. Dream was the one who named it. Tommy felt it try to claim him, and he tried to kill it, and he failed. So Dream killed him to save him from it.
It fucks him up pretty badly to be recalling both the fake and real events of what happened in there. Exile at least is mostly accurate to his memory, but the prison as he recalled it was almost entirely fictionalized.
So like, Tommy isn't really at the point of trying to reconnect with Dream for awhile, he's just trying to reconnect with reality first.
When they do talk again, a lot of it is Tommy getting closure on certain actions, and also just... Confirming that he remembers the real version of events this time.
Tommy's still mad about stuff. Regardless of the fact that he had a reason, Dream still hurt Tommy in a very profound way, and that doesn't vanish quickly. It both helps and hurts that Dream owns up to it being him and not the Dreamon almost all of the time. That in the end, Dream can't bring himself to regret it, because everyone got out alive. It's unfair and messy, but things so often are between them.
Part of Tommy wants to punch Dream, and he would if he thought fora minute that Dream could take it but like, the dude is really fragile for awhile and he's kinda scared he might actually kill him.
It's rough between them, although between the two of them, Tommy heals first. Dream takes longer, since he has to get to the place where he can accept he has wounds in the first place before he can start letting them mend. They both do heal, given time. Most things do.

I discovered gentle noble today and read through all the manga available to me, but I have not been able to find the light novels anywhere. Can I ask where you read them?
HECK YEAH, I personally read them from the original site through Google translate. But since that's insane, I have a guide for where to read.
