Excuse me while I drop something sad here about immortal rose tyler and funerals. I'd say enjoy but I cried a little writing this so be warned
Rose had been to many funerals in her life. The saddest had been Jackie and Pete's joint funeral in the other universe, followed closely by her brother's funeral. She didn't stick around long enough for her daughter's funeral, but even if she had she would have looked as young as she did stood in the back of the church.
She'd stopped aging after the badwolf stunt, and she couldn't die either. It had been tested by daleks, cybermen, and other hostile creatures plenty for her to get the point. Still she was stood in the back of her own funeral.
The battle of Canary Whalf had been three weeks ago, two weeks had been spent trying to accept that she and her mother were actually gone, and the other spent planing separate funerals for them. Rose appreciated that.
Rose stood in the back of the church, shrouded in darkness and with a perception filter, watching the proceedings. An empty casket sat at the front and one by one the few people that had shown up stood and talked to it.
"You're gone, Mickey left, this wasn't how things were meant to go," Shareen said. Even with her back to the church and the distance between them Rose could hear her crying. It took everything in her not to go up and hug her. "This isn't how things were meant to be Rose, we were meant to raise our kids together." Rose felt a tear slip down her face. "You're too young to be gone."
Rose was too old to be alive, but the sentiment hurt just as much anyway. It tore at her heart and made her wish the timeline wasn't so fragile. She wished she could start aging so she could pretend to have just been injured and somewhere as an unidentified person. She couldn't though. She already knew that Shareen would go one to have a daughter she'd name Rose. She already knew that she couldn't interfere.
Keisha stepped up beside Shareen and took her hand. Offering her the only comfort she could get then.
"You promised you wouldn't be first, you promised you wouldn't do this to us not after everything we'd been through," she said, her anger nullified by the tears Rose could tell where there. "You promised Rose," she said, voice breaking.
They were too young for the grief of two friends. They'd get Mickey back, but they'd never be as close because he'd never tell them the truth. She knew that already too. She knew that Keisha would die in a few years leaving Shareen alone, the last of them, and she knew Shareen would have a second daughter she'd name after her.
"We miss you Rose," Shareen whispered.
Rose's heart ached for them. She wanted to tell them she was ok, that she'd always be ok. She wanted to tell them shew as alive, that she would always be alive. But she couldn't. And even if she could, she probably shouldn't.
She slipped out of the church, unseen, heart aching for her friends. Funerals were awful, but she never thought she'd attend her own.

look!!! i do write!!!
~
"Does anyone ever go, 'oh, poor Keisha'?" she snaps, shaking. "'Poor Astrophel, he's got so much evil inside him,' we hear every day. But does anyone stop to think, 'poor, poor Keisha. She had to take all the twisted and horrid things inside of her and strangle them 'till they died. She doesn't have any room for darkness inside her.'" I see tears in her eyes. "I didn't kill my doppleganger once, Astrophel. That's not how it works. Every bad thing you do or think or feel feeds into it, starting it again."
"I–" I start, but she cuts me off.
"I have killed myself more times than I can count," Keisha says, and all at once the anger is gone, replaced with a brittle, broken sadness. "And I don't want to keep doing it anymore, but apparently that's not a fucking option. But who needs to pity Keisha, anyway?"

made myself v emotional about how jr's entire childhood was driven by his identity as a sick kid. he was a sick kid and that was ALL he was. he hasn't been able to move past that completely even now. so he makes KEK his identity and turns it into something that is HIS that he struggles to give to anyone else because this is something that he chose that empowers him and it feels like giving up a piece of that and that is HARD.

be honest, Rain . . . why did you do it?

"At first I thought I was helping, doing something for the greater good. I was wooed by the words of revolutionary, convinced that I was helping those who were treated like animals. Blinded by the promise of redeeming myself in turn for safe haven. While I willingly summoned the power that ultimately took thousands of lives...admitting that much power felt amazing. In the end I realize that to late. I know I will never be forgiven but can you really stand there and tell me that your so called Order is really doing good or is it only a benefitting those who were chosen?"

Audio Drama Sunday March 24, 2024
Take two on this!
@worldgonewrongpod This was such a fun first episode! What a clever idea to do a casual chat show in a world with supernatural problems. The chat and jokes between the hosts felt so natural too, will definitely be tuning in for future episodes.
@breakerwhiskey Episodes 31-45. The slow reveal of Whiskey's backstory and Birdie's conversations is so engaging, and Birdie's communication via morse code is such a clever choice both for the story and for production. Introducing a character who doesn't speak to an audio drama is such a bold writing challenge, and interesting way to keep the cast limited while the world expands.
Alice Isn't Dead - I'm only one episode away from ending season 2, and I really enjoy how the show's horror and plot develops in a slow burn. Keisha putting things together and realizing that she's alive because there's a part for her to play in the war with the Thistle Men was so impactful.
I've also been listening to the audiobook of Mara Wilson's lovely memoir, so that's been taking up a lot of my listening time this week!

For alphabet soup, can we get uhhhhh K? That’s a cool letter.
the only K character I have left (after the 2 Katherines) is Keisha.
She's one of the characters in The Other Ones, the epistolary horror novel I'm currently planning. She was kidnapped by the monsters when she was 15 and escapes the forest at the start of the story to warn people. She has BPD, she's Elisa's love interest, she can hear the languages of the monsters, she's easily scared, she loves gummy bears, and she's the only one who can sort of hold onto her memories when she's in the forest (though she's still very bad at it).

I have a question. Can someone answer it?
I'm writing the storyline between AJ Styles and L.A. Knight into my story, and I need to know what triggered AJ into attacking L.A. in the first place. I don't get to watch Smackdown because I don't get Fox. So if someone could enlighten me on what happened between them, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm going to tag my tag list in case this post isn't really seen much so I'm hoping one of you can help me out a bit. I don't have the time tonight to go digging for the answers I need so I thought I'd hit Tumblr up for some answers. Thanks in advance!

good morning Lucky!!
slipping on in for the ask game~
F: Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
I: Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?
hi keisha!!!!
F: so i normally try to avoid using Y/N in my fics, because for me it tends to disrupt my reading. but i did end up using it a bit in my mikey halloween fic, including for one of my favorite conversations i've written:
“Hey Y/N! What’s up?”
Leo’s words spark an instantaneous reaction. You reach out as Donnie throws the notebook at you, hitting you in the chest. It nearly falls to the floor, pages fluttering as you manage to grab the back cover. You and Donnie stare at Leo wide eyed as you clutch the notebook to your chest again and stutter, “N-nothing much! How are you?”
This completely normal and not at all suspicious behavior naturally brings Leo to a dead halt, eyes narrowing. He turns to his brother, experience telling him who the weaker link is. “What’s in the notebook, Donnie?” His voice sounds casual. Too casual.
“Oh, uh, you know, just, uh…. Y/N, tell him what’s in the notebook.” Donnie’s high pitched panic voice is back.
“Private things.” Your own voice is even more high pitched. You pray your still wide eyes and burgeoning blush are mistaken for embarrassment. You are a very bad liar. “Personal, private things that I was asking Donnie for help on! But I’m done asking him now!”
“Yeah, what they said! S-sorry Leo! I can’t tell you. Best friend pact of secrecy and all that.” Donnie holds out the last finger on his hand and you quickly wrap your pinky around it, trying your best to look serious as you feel Donnie’s hand shake a little. Leo’s eyes narrow further as he spots the shaking of his brother’s hand. Oh you are so fucked.
~~~
i'm proud of it just because i think it's funny. i think i'm so funny.
I: i wouldn't necessarily call it a guilty pleasure because i personally don't feel guilty about it, but i know it's considered "cringe" or whatever. i'm a huge huge Huge fan of coffee shop aus. can't get enough
One of my things about Alice isnt Dead is how Keisha is so unmistakably as a hero. But also isnt. I think the whole 2nd and 3rd season frame really well is that Keisha is a women with two missions. And once she completes those missions she is done. She gets to go home. She finds Alice makes some kind of peace and then fights thistle. She bears witness to the world. The good and the bad and moves foward. I appreciate how afraid she is always. Always flinching and relentless. I like how she tells the story as both train of thought and as a memory.
one of these days i need to do a proper writing about this series. i think it deserves the love but also i need to do it cuz i want to do it. Anway
🔍 what character do you enjoy writing for the most AND WHY (<- wasn't in the question but i'm nosy)
Oh fuuuuck keisha already asked this but if you want I can expound a little bit on how I “pick” characters that I like to write for.
I like the dichotomy. I like two sided coins.
Leo has such “honor and goodness” trope but it can twist at the right provocation. What if his brothers are threatened? Would he contemplate revenge? What needs to happen to make Leo rationalize bad things needing to happen? And there’s enough characterization wiggle room to allow for that with him. I actually think it’d be easier to make him do dark things than, say, Raph who always gets painted as the bad boy.
The other character I really like to write for is Arthur Morgan. Yea. I know. He’s low hanging fruit on the two sided coin tree, but I really prefer grey honor Arthur. The Arthur that would stop and pull a kid out of a well for a scared mother, but shoot a man who’s drunk and looking for a fight. In either scenario of high or low honor, you could walk away from one situation and justify it. Of course high honor Arthur would save the kid. And of course he’d walked away from a gunfight with a drunk man. But with grey honor Arthur, both or neither are up for grabs.
Edit: I also like writing for Rogue One characters Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor (K2 is bby boi and does no wrong)
just got off one of the worst flights of my life and I'm too tired to write a proper zodiac oc post, so have incorrect quotes instead
in case anyone was wondering what happened on the flight: the flight attendants charged my dad for a singular bottle of water, there was a child behind me kicking my seat, another child in front of me kept looking behind her to stare at me, and my phone got stuck between two seats and I had to do complex yoga to get it out
anyway @mythicalmagical-monkeyman hope you enjoy the lols!!
previous posts are here
Libra: What’s up? I’m back. Scorpio: I literally saw you die. You died. You were dead. Libra: Death is a social construct.
Leo: Croissants: dropped  Aquarius: Road: works ahead  Taurus: BBQ sauce: on my titties  Libra: Shavacado: fre  Gemini: Miss Keisha: fuckin dead  Cancer: Cancer: ...I didn’t understand a single word of that and I hate every single one of you.
Gemini: Could you guys at least try to see this from my perspective? Aries: crouches down Scorpio: kneels down Leo: sits on the floor Gemini: Gemini: I hate all of you.
Gemini: So, are you two friends?  Leo: Yes.  Aquarius: No.
Cop: What are your names?  Leo: Don't tell them, Sagittarius.  Cop, writing: Sagittarius...  Leo: Crap.  Sagittarius: Nice going, Leo.  Cop: Sagittarius: Uh oh.
Aquarius: sighs I have no friends… Pisces: Pisces: coughs Bitch, what am I? A roach?!
Sagittarius: But we’re friends! I was building up to calling you a nickname soon!  Aries: That’ll never happen! In fact, you just lost “Aries” privileges. From now on, you can call me by my last name or ‘Hey, you.’.  Sagittarius: Come on, Aries.  Aries: *glares*  Sagittarius: Come on, Hey you.”
Aquarius: Where's Leo, Gemini, and Sagittarius?  Libra: They're playing hide and seek.  Aquarius: Where?  Libra: I don't think you get how this game works.
Virgo: Underestimate me. That'll be fun.
Sagittarius: Your future self is talking shit about you right now.  Aquarius: Jokes on them. I'll ruin their fucking life.
Sagittarius: *sees Gemini and Ophiuchus together*  Sagittarius: They're cute. I would put them on a boat.  Libra: You mean... you ship them?
Aries: I wanna die.  Scorpio: We all do, you aren't special!
Cancer, answering the phone: Hello?  Aries: It’s Aries.  Cancer: What did he do this time?  Aries: No, it’s me, Aries. It’s actually me.  Cancer: What did you do this time?
Leo: What’s the straightest thing you’ve ever done?  Taurus: *sighs*  Taurus: I killed a man.
Gemini: WHO THE FUCK-  Virgo: Whoa, language!  Gemini: I speak fucking English!  Virgo: ...
Cancer: What the hell were you thinking?  Gemini: I heard releasing birds at a wedding is romantic!  Cancer: You released OSTRICHES!
Sagittarius: I can do anything I put my mind to. I once figured out Scorpio's phone number just by choosing random numbers.
Leo: Am I right, Pisces?  Pisces: I’m almost certain you’re not, but to be fair, I wasn’t listening.
Sagittarius: So... what would you do if you were in bed with me?  Aries: Depends. Is your bed comfortable?  Sagittarius: Yes.  Aries: I'd sleep.
Taurus: Wow, Capricorn, you want to hold my hand before marriage? How awfully lewd of you.  Capricorn: We literally slept together yesterday.  Taurus: That's NOTHING compared to the lewdness of holding hands.
Leo: What are you in the mood for?  Libra: World domination.  Leo: That's a bit ambitious.  Libra: You are my world.  Leo: Aww...  Libra: Leo: Libra: Leo: OH.
Scorpio: You look good in that hoodie.  Pisces: You know where else I'd look good?  Scorpio, zero hesitation: My bed.  Pisces, at the same time: By your side- wait, what?
Ophiuchus: I feel like doing something stupid.  Gemini: I’m stupid, do me.
Virgo: My future partner must be brave, strong, intelligent, successful and organized.  Cancer: *steps on a caterpillar and proceeds to drop to his knees and sob while apologizing profusely*  Virgo: That one. I want that one.
Aquarius: IS THERE ANYTHING BETTER THAN PUSSY???? Cetus: YES, A REALLY GOOD BOOK! (Aro & Ace solidarity fr)
anyway, yep, that was a large amount of incorrect quotes, I am done now
all of these interactions are canon by the way! if you want the context for any of them I will be more than happy to explain
