Eldritch Tech Support 4
more eldritch tech support stories
Today was a slow day for you. You didn't have much work come in, and you're just hanging out in the call center waiting for one of the field techs to call you with a problem. So far, you haven't had anything to do really. Some minor problems, nothing too complicated. It's been a good day to do nothing and get paid.
Then you get the call.
"How can I-" you start but are immediately cut off by very loud yelling.
"IT'S LYTHA!" your coworker yells on the line. Normally you'd have to go through security and employee ID numbers and job listings and stuff, but this sounds bad. "I NEED YOU TO CALL EXTERMINATORS! FUCK FUCK FUCK! THERE'S A SPIDER WITH SEVEN HEADS AND IT'S VERY MAD!"
You swear out loud, and slap the red alarm button.
The red light flashes over your desk and you can tell the call center has gone utterly silent as all non-job related tasks immediately stop.
You keep Lytha's line open as you quickly call up her jobs. She's currently on a job out in the Clutches.
"Employee needs exterminators," you say into a second line that opened the moment you pushed the button. "Employee 1419 is on site at 311 North Vellaturine, in the Clutches. Reports of multiheaded spiders-"
"FUCKING SHIT! I THINK THERE'S SOME TENTACLE THING HERE TOO!" Lytha yelled over the phone loud enough to be heard across the silent room. "MY GUESS IS SOMETHING FROM THE VOID AND ONE OF THE HELLS ARE HERE AND THEY'RE FIGHTING OR FUCKING OR BOTH!"
You repeat, with less color commentary, what Lytha reported to the Exterminators.
The Exterminator's operator acknowledged what you were saying. "Understood. Class One operation approved, Exterminators are en route to your location. Be advised heavy weaponry has been approved, as has magic. Please inform anyone in the building to evacuate immediately, police have been informed."
"Lytha!" you say to your coworker. "Lytha! The Exterminators are coming! Get out of there!"
"I'M FUCKING TRYING BUT ALL THE DOORS LEAD TO OTHER DIMENSIONS!"
"Oh... shit," you say. You repeat this to the Exterminators who do something that you never thought you'd live to hear.
"Oh fuck."
The Exterminators are the badasses of the tech world, fixing creatures and beings and banishing things that shouldn't be here. To have them be worried, that chills you to your soul and spine.
"Be advised, we have a level zero breach," the operator said. "Repeat, be advised we have a level zero breach."
You're dimly aware of the fact that there is no movement, no sound in the call center. Everyone is listening to your conversation without breathing or speaking.
"We are sending in the Knight of Doors," the operator said. "We're doing our best to get there as fast as possible. Do whatever you can to keep your people alive and safe."
Your boss was standing behind you and didn't even notice until she started yelling. "Kel! You did that job for the Chaos Seekers last month, get them on the phone and ask for a Blessing Against the Chaos for Lytha!" Their other head turned and pointed at another tech support person. "Devin! Find out if that war demon we helped a few months back is willing to offer a War Boon to our people!" You then feel a hand on your shoulder. You boss turns to you. "Do your best, and if you have a favorite god now is a good time."
A flurry of activity exploded into the tech center. People started calling up friends, clients, and even a few rivals to see if there was something that they could do to help out their coworker.
But all of that cut out when Lytha screamed over the phone, a scream that sounded bad.
"OH FUCK!"
"Help is coming, Lytha!" you say instantly into the phone, trying to remain somewhat calm and stamp down on the tremor and fear in the voice. "The Knight of Doors is coming!"
"Oh that's good," Lytha says with lots of hard breathing. "I'll have something attractive to look at as I go out and a nice voice in my ear."
"Don't do that," you scold. "Don't be fatalistic!" Your trying to fight back the emotions.
"We had some good times. The chaos of this whole thing is really quite interesting if you think about it. And this will be an excellent story to tell later."
Your boss touches your shoulder again. "It's ok," she whispers with one mouth, "the Chaos Seekers gave Lytha a blessing, but it comes with some... side effects. Like being a bit too into the whole 'Abyss is beautiful and deserves our respect and admiration' thing. She's not actively dying."
"Oh, thank fuck," you mutter. You focus back on Lytha, "Well you'll just have to tell me all about it over several drinks later."
"Advisement, Exterminators are on scene. Police ETA 3 minutes. Knight of Doors is Traveling," chimes in the operator.
There's the sounds of crashing and fighting on the line from Lytha.
"Holy shit," Lytha breathes out in reverential awe. "The Knight is something else."
The sounds from the phone are impossible to describe. The sounds of combat and chaos and hell and the magic of the Exterminators combine with more conventional sounds of weapons fire.
"Asset retrieved," said a deep and dark voice that you feel in your bones. "We are traveling to safety."
Suddenly Lytha's line went dead.
The call center has gone entirely silent once again.
The moment of silence is interrupted when a shining door suddenly appears next to your desk. The door was massive, easily 10 feet tall and 5 feet wide and made of a color that you can't quite fathom but your brain manages as "blue?"
The blue? door opens and out walks Lytha, covered in slime and blood followed by the Knight of Doors. They barely fit through their own door.
Contrary to the name the Knight wears almost no armor, but their skin looks like it could be an armor of its own. Dark, smooth, but sharp rock-like armor covers their body. They clear have some lineage directly connected to the Children of the Earth. The Knight was big in every way and extremely attractive with a massive sword and battle axe on their back.
"There you are," says the deep but soft voice of the Knight that covered you like warm molasses. "You are safe now. You should seek medical attention. I shall return to the battle."
"Thank you," Lytha says with a little smile.
"Wow," you say, stunned.
The Knight nods and walks through their blue? door once again.
Your boss heaves a heavy sigh of relief. "Ok, everyone! Take a twenty minute break, get your legs back, and then we really should return to work." Then your boss turns to you, "Take Lytha and get her to a hospital."
You nod and take Lytha's hand and pull her towards the exit and the hospital.
---
Three days later, the Exterminators and the police manage to contain the situation.
It turned out that Lytha was called in to clean off the viruses on the computer used by a den of drug dealers who were cooking some very illegal drugs, the kind of drugs that require ingredients from the Abyss.
The drug makers, being incredibly intelligent, made deals with devils to get the ingredients which resulted in the turf war between one of the numerous hells and the Abyss.
Then Lytha was called because several members of the drug dealers had a laptop that they used to go to many suspicious and shady websites.
Lytha was fine, she suffered a few injuries that required many large needles to inject her with various antibodies and such. She had to spend only two nights in the hospital but only for observation. You stayed the entire time.
if you liked this let me know, maybe consider buying me a kofi, i'd appreciate it very much

“No, no, no, not again.”
Tink Tink
The duo helped support the gladiator and the silent Quel’dorei as they made their way out of the arena, heading towards the rear exit of Orgrimmar as advised by their Lieutenant, they could hear a multitude of noises coming from all around, the outcries of loyalty, forsaken despair and the ever present…
Tink Tink
A forsaken stood in their way, both of them could feel others approaching through the shadows and tensed, Kel’shara shook his head, “No, no, no, not again.” as he tried to grab something from the back of his belt, letting go of the gladiator who stumbled into the other Quel’dorei as Kel’shara pulled his gun out, tears had already started to form on his star freckled face as he placed the muzzle of the gun to his temple and pulled back the trigger.
Tink Tink
Raiyen slammed into his side, fighting to move the gun away from Kel’s head BANG. Just in time, the shot rang out and hit one of the forsaken instead, killing her instantly, this caused the shadows to erupt and the four of them were dragged into the Cleft of Shadows, then deeper into the caverns below Orgrimmar.
Tink Tink
The sound of flag poles hitting the metal walkways of Orgrimmar became quieter as they fought, Kel’shara erupted with Void and was lashing out at the Forsaken dragging him, screaming “NOT AGAIN! YOU WILL NOT TAKE ME AGAIN!” Raiyen, a sheer force all on his own without the Void finally broke free of the forsaken that held him and charged at the ones holding Kel. Slamming into their side he ripped and yanked, pulled and shredded the forsaken holding him.
Kel’shara was dropped, Raiyen pulled him back to his feet and held onto him, grabbing the Quel’dorei who had fought their way out as well before readying a Rift, it was too late now to not be spotted or found by those who would do them harm, they had to get out. Now. The Rift started to form, the space in front of them tearing open before suddenly Raiyen gasped and it stopped.
Confused for just a moment, Kel’shara watched as Raiyen grasped at his own shoulder, it was only then that Kel noticed the head of the arrow that was jutting out of the skin. “No! Raiyen! I can’t get captured again! I won’t! We can’t! Please!” Kel’shara pleaded, the fear within him was causing the Void to ripple across his skin and lash out sporadically. “Go…. I’ll… slow them down…” Kel shifted, he wanted to, he wanted to run but he couldn’t leave Raiyen behind.
The moment of indecision was interrupted as Raiyen slumped forward, unconscious. “RAIYEN!” Kel screamed shaking his partner trying to get him to get back up, to wake up, to run. It was too late, his gun was gone, he couldn’t stop them taking him… or could he? They surrounded him and he noticed that the two Quel’dorei had also been shot and were unconscious on the floor. The arrows must have been laced with a tranquiliser of sorts. Void rippled across his form again as an arrow grazed his arm, a voice spoke to him within his mind; “Give into the power…” he nodded and let go.
What happened next he could not quite understand, it was as if everything in him was built just for this moment, his form changed and he became more monstrous, lashing out with Void and his own body that was now very much a weapon of its own making, those loyal to Sylvannas fell before him, he couldn’t keep count of how many succumbed to his Void. Then came the pain, he spun and grasped the forsaken by the neck, crushing it’s throat and watching as the yellow glow of their eyes died out.
Darkness started to form at the corners of his eyes, he tried to focus on the forsaken and noticed she had an arrow in hand, she had stabbed him with it. Stumbling slightly he roared out in anger, watching as the darkness crept over his vision and the forsaken swarmed.
Stirring awake, he felt groggy and dazed, his hands were bound and he was chained to a post in the middle of a room, the two Quel’dorei were chained up to one side and the circular platform had forsaken and goblins, one Sin’dorei also, were they all loyal to the banshee? His gaze focused, the forsaken were taking turns to hit and kick, stab and poke at whatever was their prey. The Sin’dorei and goblins stood off to one side, looks of horror upon their faces.
A coughing splutter of blood caused Kel’s anger to boil up again, Void rippled from his form as he realised that what the forsaken were using as their punching bag was Raiyen, who kept trying to get up. With laughter the forsaken dragged Raiyen to the post near Kel’shara noticing the effect it was having on the smaller elf. Yanking him by his hair to reveal his face to Kel, it was bloody and swollen, his eyebrow was split above a black eye and a swollen lip.
This caused Kel’shara to pull against his restraints in anger, the metal chains groaning against him. The forsaken continued to laugh but a disturbance in the distance caused them to pause. Noises of fighting were coming down the stone halls, it was distant but it was there. With a muttering amongst themselves the forsaken dragged Raiyen and bound him to the post as well, he was practically limp now but they enjoyed poking at him all the same, more for the reaction from the smaller elf than anything else.
Footfalls of those approaching echoes throughout the stone cavern, as they reached the top they stopped, being confronted with the sight of their fellow Legionaries and the two Quel’dorei, Barrowcliff’s gruff voice rang out; “Drop the weapons and surrender. Now!” he shifts muttering commands to the others, “Hawkins… take the left I will take the right, Knotley, you cover the exit. Seren, Bill you are both on ranged duty. Make sure no one attacks the Quel’dorei. Hazel, Tae you take the middle, secure our soldiers.” Turning back to the loyalists, Barrowcliff spoke loud enough for them to hear.
“Your Warchief has fled. The war is over.”

in Well of Ascension (when Allrianne comes and finds Breeze and everything) Dox drops this one line about how he thought they were gonna avoid “unplanned female attachments” since Kelsier was gone and I just. where the frick did that come from, Dox?? Kelsier was pretty obviously devoted to Mare and it was implied that he had been for years, and he and Mare met on a planned crew (pretty sure) so it’s not like Mare was an unplanned female attachment or anything. as far as I can recall, nowhere in Final Empire or Secret History does Kelsier remember any ‘female attachment’ besides Mare, and it’s not like Dox and Mare were enemies. the only female person in their crew for the entire Final Empire scheme was Vin, and--well, yeah technically she’s an “unplanned female attachment” but it’s of the familial/crew kind and the wording&context of the line implies romantic female attachments......so?? um?? Dockson??? what the frick

WE'RE HERE, LIVE AND LOSING OUR MINDS AT THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF
OMORI VHS
Episode 5 is...oh.
This...this is Sunny's tape.
Oooh, looks like we're about to get some lore reveal. Lemme throw it in the VHS Player...
There we go!
Episode 5 begins with Sunny in the void yet again. He's still sitting there, body bleeding, eyes crying blood, bloodshot eyes, and a forced smile (you know, like the ones we see in Needlemouse) on his face. His text appears on the screen again.
"Everyone hates me."
"They all hurt me."
"I didn't kill anyone."
"I miss Hero."
"I miss Kel."
"I miss Aubrey."
(The text is replaced with voice acting as a very hurt sounding Sunny speaks up.)
"I miss Basil."
"I miss my best friend."
"It's not my fault."
"It's hers."
"Do you hear that, Lorraine? This is your fault."
"You're the reason I'm like this."
"You're the reason my friends hate me."
"I hate you."
"I hate you!"
"I HATE YOU!"
"You're a murderer, not me. You're the one who killed."
"I'M NOT A MURDERER!"
(Sunny tries his best to move. He hurts a bunch, but through pure adrenaline and pure will for his friends, he gets up and stands on his legs again, a determined look on his face.)
"I'm going to save my friends, Lorraine."
(Omori spawns into the room, staring at Sunny, knife in hand.)
"Get back down."
"No!"
"Get. Back. Down."
(Sunny rushes at Omori, only for the monochrome boy to teleport behind him and stab him in the back, the knife poking out of his stomach.)
"I said, sit. Back. Down, Murderer."
(Sunny's had enough. He tugs behind his back for the knife, eventually grabbing it out of Omori's hands and stabbing the boy in the head.)
Omori shrieks, his screams sounding like an older woman's. Blood doesn't leak from the stab, but it's clear that the action did a lot of damage to Omori. Omori leans down in pain.)
"You don't have control over me anymore, Lorraine."
"I'm going to help my friends and there is nothing you can do about it."
The bloodied but triumphant Sunny runs off to who knows where.
After a few moments, the camera pans to Omori, or, better yet, Lorraine who looks up with Omori's furious expression.
"This isn't over, Sunny."
Lorraine teleports away.
(The scene cuts to Sunny limping across the void. He's holding his hand to his stomach as he limps. He looks up to see one of his friends, who also notice him.)
"...Aubrey?"
"Sunny?"
(Aubrey sees how bruised Sunny is and immediately runs to hug him. She does so, tightly.)
"Oh my God...what happened to you?
"Wait, this is Sunny? Is he okay?"
(Sunny knows who that is. He looks to Aubrey and nods.)
"...He's okay, Aubrey."
The tape ends there.

Ooh what if Plo was the one who survived Order 66 and not Wolffe?
And here we have yet another Chameleon special. Angst, misery, et cetera. Caveat emptor.
When the order comes, Plo is on the ground, Wolffe and his Pack at his back as they sweep the field for any straggling droids that may be waiting in ambush. The Force screams a warning and he begins to turn - and then Wolffe is tackling him to the side as blaster bolts pepper the space he had just been occupying. Wolffe returns fire, catching Sinker and Comet in the gut and Boost in the head, and then he turns to face Plo, clutching at his skull in terrible pain.
“What - Why?” Plo asks, staring up at him in horrified shock. “Wolffe, why?”
“It’s getting me too,” Wolffe gasps. “Plo - run - good soldiers - the Chancellor did this to us. I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry.”
Plo scrambles towards him, but too late. Wolffe jams the barrel of his pistol under his chin and squeezes the trigger. His body collapses in a heap, smoking from the neck.
Plo can’t bear to look. He can only weep on his knees as death washes over him from across the stars.
---
Obi-Wan thinks Wolffe was able to resist those precious few moments because of the injury that took his eye. Plo doesn’t really care. He doesn’t have it in him to care about anything anymore. He’s a Kel Dor; his entire species is dependent on their connections to others, and Plo’s entire web has been set aflame. The only two strands left are Obi-Wan and Master Yoda, and he only knows they remain because they stand beside him. The Order is gone. Mace is gone. His Pack is dead by their Commander’s hand, and Wolffe -
Everything is constant pain, now, and he’s drowning. If ever there was something other than the pain, he can’t find it. He’s dragged himself through the process of taking back the Temple, seen the recording of Skywalker in the creche, and now he’s putting one foot in front of the other on the way to the Senate.
“Plo,” Obi-Wan says, “wait.”
“There’s nothing to wait for,” he says dully. The Chancellor did this to us. “We know what must be done.”
“You need a better plan than to just - show up! You know what happened!” Obi-Wan pulls at his shoulder, and Plo halts, too tired to fight him.
“Master Yoda will be with me,” he says. “We will stop Palpatine.”
“You’re not going to stop Palpatine!” Obi-Wan snaps. “You’re going so you can die!”
“And what if I am?” There is a void in his mind where ten thousand voices used to sit. There is a wound where Wolffe had torn his mind away by violence. He’s aware that he’s depressed and borderline catatonic. He knows that he should probably be on watch. But this is the war of the end times, and there is no room to breathe or grieve.
I’m so sorry.
He was too afraid to look at what was left of Wolffe, even as he’d set him upon his pyre. It was an act of cowardice Wolffe would never have allowed. When he passes into the Force - soon, soon, let it be soon - he won’t have even that much. He doesn’t care about that either.
“You loved your Commander,” Obi-Wan says.
“Yes.”
“You killed him.”
“No,” Plo says. “He killed himself. To spare me.” He runs his hands over his bracers, over his beloved’s sigil, drawing strength from the image. There is a gash through the wolf’s eye. “He shouldn’t have. I don’t have long to live anyway.”
The psychic damage is too great. He can already feel himself slipping. If it had only been Wolffe, only his Pack; or if it had been the Order, and his Pack remained  - but losing both at the same time is more than he can handle. This time next month, there won’t be anything of him left, just a puppet waiting to be put out of its misery. From that perspective, he’s not looking to die. Not really. He’s just trying to make the most of the time he has left.
It’s not an excuse that would have worked on Wolffe, but Wolffe lost veto rights when he put a blaster to his head.
“I’m not - being dramatic, Obi-Wan,” says Plo. “I’m not giving up. This isn’t a survivable injury. No Kel Dor has, and no Kel Dor ever will survive something of this magnitude. Do you understand? If we win - if Palpatine dies, if Skywalker somehow comes back to the light, I will still become a drooling, comatose, reanimated corpse. There isn’t time for me to rebuild the connections I need.” He stares at his lightsaber in his hands. Wolffe’s lightsaber, his first, yellow-bladed. It’s pleased to be with him again. It grieves Wolffe’s loss. “If I could - If I could choose -”
“Master Plo. Master Obi-Wan,” Yoda says, accompanied by the click of his cane. “Soon, depart we must.”
“It would be easier to let it happen,” Plo says quietly. “But a Jedi does not take the easier route simply because it is easier, and a Mando doesn’t die on his knees.” He dips his head. “I’m doing the best I can. That’s all anyone can ask for. Goodbye, Obi-Wan. May the Force be with you.”
And he marches on.

Chapters: 5/9 Fandom: OMORI (Video Game) Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Hero/Mari (OMORI) Characters: Sunny (OMORI), Basil (OMORI), Kel (OMORI), Aubrey (OMORI), Hero (OMORI), Original Characters Additional Tags: Post-Canon, Mystery, Friendship, Canon Compliant, Mental Health Issues, Implied/Referenced Suicide, actually 99 percent canon compliant, because of that one detail the author messed up on but cant change now, so basically dairy based butter substitute Summary:
William Sullivan (Will to his Mother and non existent friends) is 14 when his family moves out to a tiny suburban town on the very edge of nowhere.
He fully expects his new life in Faraway Town to be dull and monotonous, but when he discovers a hidden message behind his new home his life becomes a little less boring.
*SCREAMING INTO THE VOID*
Sorry this chapter took so long. Enjoy more cameos, Mikhael being extra.tm, enough flower symbolism to choke a literature/biology double major, Kel the source of eternal youth, Kim’s crippling candy addiction, community service, and a bunch of other stuff not necessarily in that order.

Anger.
A secondary emotion to a myriad of others.
Secondary to his sorrow of being left behind, his fear of being alone, his yearning to be revisited.
"You didn't have to stay." In Tibaź? Of course he had. Everyone left with their happiness.
Lorelei reunited with the cartographer. Jade married and exploring motherhood. Elijah merrily (drunkenly) traveling the world. Kel ruling over The Land of The Dead with his brief respites in the arms of the dwarven goddess he'd become infatuated with during mortality. Felicie on the seas to find herself.
He'd had no choice but to be left behind. Felicie needed to find herself away from expectation but Sascha knew who he was. Didn't he? He just wanted to learn better what he was capable of. Creating and brewing and crafting and spellcasting... those were the things he had to learn about himself in their absence.
But with that void between himself and everyone he cared for, the hole became a festering wound. Its rot permeated every thought, every deed, every moment of the day. He couldn't find the joy that once came as naturally as breathing. Though he crafted glitter bombs for the children of the fishing village, he did not delight in the glimmer as the pieces scattered about. If anything, it made his head ache with how tightly he clenched his jaw. Watching children play, watching couples in tender embraces, watching people delight in their work no matter how menial.
"You didn't have to stay."
He wanted to smash every mirror. To scream at the old dragon he called father for how infuriatingly calm his face looked as he spoke. The words bubbled violently in his mind. "You left and took your happinesses with you."
Felicie has never truly given me a choice in any matter - if she had really wanted me to join her on her journeys, she would have forced me to go! She would have dragged me by the arm onto that ship and I wouldn't be here. I wouldn't be having these nightmares. I wouldn't be forgotten. I wouldn't be alone.
But the words never bubbled over. The vision left him before he could continue speaking. Before his emotion took off without thought.
Why was the rage so loud? Why did it ring out over his trembling voice, his aching heart, his pained memories?
That ringing...
The ringing of the bell.
