so there's this dude at work who supposedly could not find a job closer to home and walks four hours to work and four hours back. he talked me into driving him to town one day, which I instantly regretted. He didn't DO anything but I like. Regretted it and I live in fear of the day he asks me again and I have to have a confrontation.

Anyway. I heard through the grapevine (my brother) that he's apparently walking that far and trying to bum rides, but just bought an iPhone 14. And like, not to judge, not trying to be like "well maybe if you bought less avocado toast" about this BUT MAYBE SAVE FOR A CAR INSTEAD??? like yes I get a phone is a necessity in this day and age but NOT AN IPHONE 14. I wouldn't pay that much for a phone AND I HAVE A CAR

In addition to this my brother told me SIX OTHER WOMEN told my brother they think that guy is a creep so. Uh. Failed the vibe check there. Basically these two bits of information have hardened my resolve to never let that boy in my car again

ah yes, my favorite media. a grand story about the horror and tragedy of war set featuring a massive space war that was a rebellion against an oppressive colonial empire hellbent on conquest (which also experiments on its subjects), a main cast of mostly female characters, a key romance between two women, and a clone army of female super soldiers.

my favorite character in this story is a woman named rose. though not physically present in the text, her absence echoes throughout the narrative in a way that makes those closest to her do great and terrible things. she comprises one half of the key romance (of which the other half is deeply devoted to her even after she is gone). she has done some deeply awful things in her past, but that doesn't stop me excusing her shitty actions <3

However one interprets her character, Emilie's "Representation" backstory of leaving her rich people home (indicated to be stifling and controlling and a big deal for her to return) to learn and grow and see the world makes her involvement in Adrien being isolated and kept from going to school pretty hypocritical.

YEah......

On one hand, there's the cycle of abuse and continuing what you grew up with not knowing different.

On the other hand, there's her knowing her own situation was fucked but creating the exact situation but worse because since he's a senti Adrien doesn't have an option to escape like she did.

Boothill's presentation being entirely on the twitter post makes me think he will be irrelevant in the story in the long(ish) run, and that the game itself won't dwell on him almost at all
