ok so i finished bbs so time for thoughts!!!!
god this game has. issues. its my least favorite so far and im not saying its BAD im just saying it could be. better
i realize i was supposed to play terra > ven > aqua but i went in order of who i was least excited about to most so i did terra > aqua > ven. also i was super underlevel as terra and aqua so when i got to ven i grinded to level 10 the moment i was able to and then breezed through the whole game
i dont wanna say that i think the game should be shorter but i do think that its not very enjoyable for like 80% of the runtime. like i think most the worlds are boring idk. im not a very big disney person but usually the worlds are pretty interesting but this time around it simply Did not hit and i think it couldve been better? idk man. a few worlds were really good like all of hollow bastion as ven is super fun like i love seeing the org cast theyre just endlessly fun. seeing ansem tw in the ending did make me very angry though i hate that guy
this whole game is a downer and i knew that going in but still like. holy shit its depressing.
i love the main trio they are such a fucked up family i love their dynamic its honestly the best part of the game. also vanitas is a joy but also he is a total fucking wimp i could beat him up in real life. also fuck terranort! that about sums up my thoughts
hate the command system id honestly rather be doing coms card game at least that required some level of thought. i hate how the game can just rip the command i just made right out of my hands that is SO rude. also ima be real i still dont know how to play command board i never read the rules
honestly the game isnt that fun i didnt really enjoy it it kinda felt like a chore to play a lot of the time. i tend to be chronically underlevel in games and tgis is the game where i felt it the hardest so every once and a while i had to just set aside a couple hours to grind and like. i enjoy a challenge so i dont mind being underlevel but this was just painful i simple Could Not. also FUCK terra if i ever have to play as him again ill throw up and die.
the opening is my second favorite so far and the story is pretty good when i know whats going on
decent game. 6.9/10 if they axed the whole command system id give it a 7.5. i think it works better in concept than in execution and replaying the exact same worlds 3 times over gets stale pretty quickly. i wish they cut out some worlds as other characters like you cannot tell me deep space ventus was necessary. solid game though

Year in Review: Games Part 1
This is a series I've been wanting to do for a while. Whenever I finish a piece of media (books, games, movies, comics, maybe art and music in the future) I jot in down in a doc so I can look back on them at the end of the year. I wanted to write my thoughts on them as I finished them, but since you have to start somewhere, I'll be writing simple reviews in retrospect. This is just for fun, but I welcome any feedback.
Pokemon Scarlet
This game released with some controversy. It was an unfinished glitchy mess with graphics still not up to the standards of the Nintendo Switch six years into its lifespan, but tbh this game was fun as hell to complete. I loved most of all the new designs and managed for the first time in my Pokemon career to actually complete the Dex. I usually get worn down on that pretty quick.
The characters were also much more engaging than the previous generation, especially my best boy Arven. The environments were super fun to explore and I got a new favorite little guy (Slither Wings my beloved). Here's hoping the next game has an actual sane development cycle and we get this amount of creativity in a higher degree of quality with better paid developers.
Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations
If you thought I only played games that came out this year, sorry to disappoint. I don't manage to pick up even half of the blockbusters that pop up annually, and go after older games way more often. That being said, I see why AA fans hold this game up so high. I played the first and second Phoenix Wright games last year (which I won't review since that was too long ago now) and this is a nice cap to the original Trilogy.
You get Phoenix's background as a dorky bisexual art student, Mia's first case as a defense attorney, and an honestly heartbreaking quest for revenge through Godot while never stooping to melodrama. (I love his theme it sounds like the Mother 3 Magypsies). Also unlike the first two games, there were zero "filler" cases. Each one was thoroughly engaging and moved the plot forward in a meaningful way. Though, I don't begrudge the earlier cases that fuck around a lot more.
Pokemon White 2
When the OG Black and White came out, I was in the "everything new is lame" stage of adolescence, so when the sequels came out I didn't even bother. Turns out I was the lame one for doing so! In hindsight, Pokemon seemed to reach something of a peak with Gen 5 in terms of graphics and gameplay, and would seek to experiment with new artstyles and gimmicks for the next (looks at watch) 11 years damn.
With the first Black and White, it focused on remodeling classic Pokemon designs and gameplay into something new and modern, and these games add back in most of those classic Mons. The plot is also very action-packed and engaging, and gives a satisfying epilogue for a lot of the characters from the first games. You get to see how the region has changed after 3 years and even get to explore some new parts of Unova, similar to how the Gen 2 games handled Kanto. I hope Gamefreak does something like this again in the future.
Kingdom Hearts: Re:Coded
Prepare for a deluge of this series, and not in any conceivable order. Kingdom Hearts took over my heart, mind, and body Xehanort style for the better half of the year. This title is known for a fun variety of gameplay and an absolute dogshit story. I wouldn't really agree. The game switches up its playstyle pretty frequently, including side-scrolling platforming, railshooting, and turn-based combat but for the most part its classic hack-and-slash 3D platforming that feels kind of grindy, but there's multiple unlockable difficulty sliders that you can use to switch it up if you get bored.
Storywise, there's not a lot for newcomers and if you want to play through all the games as one overarching narrative, I wouldn't blame you for skipping this one. However, if you're already a fan of Sora and Riku's relationship, this has quite a bit for someone to dig their teeth into. The world's are all recycled from KH1, making this one of the two games where you can actually explore Destiny Islands, but they all feel pretty downgraded. The endgame gave me a headache.
Kingdom Hearts
Our best boy's first big boot step into adventure. I watched all of the KH cutscenes for all of the games during a particularly dry season of lockdown, so this was my first foray into the original. The story genuinely holds up to a surprising degree, leaning into the Disney elements more than its Squaresoft side for probably the last time in the series. Its really good groundwork for Sora's introduction as a hero, I especially love the assertion towards the end that it is Sora's choice to help others that makes him worthy of the Keyblade and not destiny. Its a theme that would be both muddied and compounded upon later in the series in a pretty interesting way.
I was almost astonished at how in-depth all of the worlds are, especially Traverse Town. There are a lot more little Disney references and sidequests, like the 101 Dalmation quest, that help the worlds all feel a bit more lively. Also NPCs, which later in the series would become a rare gift. I fucked up on the combat. Did not learn how to do spell shortcuts until midway through KH2. Despite that, it was still fun to wack Heartless with my keyblades six different ways, and it makes me excited to replay it at some point.
Kingdom Hearts II
This is the big boy that every KH fan loves to absolute death. Chain of Memories had already started the series tradition of experimental storytelling, but the mainline sequel takes it to an fascinating and well-executed degree. For the first three hours you are forced into playing a new protagonist with zero context and near zero Disney shit. Vivi is there though and we love him for that. Later on we would see this prologue as the tragic conclusion of another entry in the series, but its initial presence here is jarring in a way you have to piece together throughout the rest of the main game. It would also introduce many of the more headache-inducing plot aspects that are fun to dissect but a pain to explain, such as Nobodies. I see them as ghosts, and no one can tell me otherwise. I wrote a whole absurdist retelling about it.
The worlds are more quantity than quality, I'll be real. About half of them are made up of 4 or 5 flat maps with nothing to do except grind Heartless encounters, (e.g. Mulan.) The other half are a bit meatier but could have benefited from more sidequests and such. You revisit quite a few from KH1 to see how they changed and that's always fun. There's a theme to each of the Disney worlds that add to the narrative, in this title mainly being romance and identity. The identity aspect leans toward the relationship between Sora and Roxas, two separate people who are also one person, while the romance theme hints towards the relationship with Sora and Kairi. Oddly enough, both themes also seem to work towards Sora's quest for Riku, who is in the midst of his own identity crisis while Sora desperately tries to find him. Huh. Interesting.
Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep
This is my favorite Kingdom Hearts game. This was one of the few I was able to play as a teenager and even after all these years I still adore this game to death. It works without knowing anything else about Kingdom Hearts. You don't need to know about Ansems or Nobodies or Time Travel; none of that shit. This is the story of three friends that get torn apart by their own ignorance and one bitter old man on his quest to change the world. Its one story split among three perspectives, and each character you play through the game with you understand the grander narrative. You understand why Aqua's best friend snapped at her, why Terra's little brother is so ready to die. You also get to hear Leonard Nemoy yell "KEYBLADE" in the same cutscene three different times.
I love this game so so much dammit. The combat has a fun collection system where you earn action commands and combine them to make better attacks and healing moves. The worlds in the latter half of the game are also really creative and fun to explore, though you get a limited area to move around in for each character. If you have played previous KH entries, there's a lot of references to make you point at the screen and go "THAS AXEL THAS MY BOY HE'S A LIL GUY HERE." Anyway I'll shut up. Play this game.
Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance
Never ask me to explain the plot of this game. They added Inception to Kingdom Hearts and also Time Travel. And the story is mostly told through unlockable backstory cutscenes including the premise. Yes, the introduction to this game's story is an unlockable. Despite this, the story is pretty effective. This is Riku's second time in the spotlight since Reverse/Rebirth, though the game is once again split between him and Sora. It dissects Riku's character arc in a similar way to Re:Coded, except uhh this one isn't a computer simulation, he is a Dream. Completely different. It asserts his desire to continue as Sora's protector, and realizing this it is him who ultimately triumph's over Angst Teen Xehanort, saves Sora and passes the Key Test. He's no longer on his Way to the Dawn. He's in the light. It's sweet.
The worlds in this game are based around vertical movement. There's a new Parkour mechanic that lets you wall-step-flip around basically everywhere, and to compensate this the worlds are Huge. Since they're dreams, that also means they're pretty empty of anything to really do or explore. They are pretty at least. There's also a pokemon mechanic where you collect lil guys. I did not realize this mechanic also determines Riku and Sora's stats until the final boss, which caught me off guard. I see why this is a lot of people's fave KH game of all time, but its a little too busy for me.
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages
This is an odd one. I first played this game two years ago at college alongside Oracle of Seasons in my spare time. Eventually my phone-I MEAN MY AUTHENTIC GAME BOY COLOR- broke and I thought I lost my save data for both. Turns out I did not and finished through the last few dungeons. This game makes solid use of the time travel mechanic, which is a mix of Ocarina's time travel and Alttp's world jumping. It's fun to jump sporadically between 1000s of years and see the world in different eras. That rock? Used to be slightly over to the left. Would you look at that.
The dungeons had a larger focus on puzzles in comparison with Season's love for combat, which is probably why this is the more beloved twin. Some of the dungeons had me waddling back and forth for too long until I figured out what to do. You can link these games up to get bonus items like the Biggoron's Sword which is fun to complete. After beating both games, you get an extra final boss against Ganon and a scene hinting towards the beginning of Link's Awakening, which is a nice touch. And then Nintendo declared them two separate Links, for some reason. Beh.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
Oh hey. One of the most beloved games of all time. I have played through this games more times than I know. Probably around like. 6 times I used to boot this game up and play all the way up to the Forest Temple and then restart for some reason, I don't know how many times I actually got to the end.
Its a game that eases you into its idyllic fantasy world before dropping you headfirst into the apocalypse you inadvertently caused in your quest to destroy evil. Its never a melodramatic game though. Its about the loss of innocence. Maturity. Learning that the evil was always there, before the King of Thieves took over the world, before you were even born. It even came from the place you are trying to protect. But there was always goodness too, there was always light. There are always friends to be found in dark places. The style and presentation are peak. The dungeons are rich in aesthetics and well made puzzles. The time travel mechanic is honestly a bit undercooked. But this game is fantastic. Quintessential Zelda.
The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventure
I straight-up forgot I played this. Its fun though. Its a relatively short game, but compared to its predecessor, its a huge improvement. The game plays out in stages like the first Four Swords game, but usually in explorable environments, like towns and forests rather than generic volcano and cave themes. You control all Four Links at once, moving them into different formations to move rocks or put fires out. Or you can do it with friends controlling each Link. I did not. :(
I was mainly interested in this games story from a lore perspective. It features the return of Vaati, the Wind Creep who Lova Da Ladies, but with the addition of the Rise of Ganondorf. You are sent to stop him from a wise owl, Ganon allies himself with Deku Scrubs, attacks the Gorons, and is eventually turned into a monster by his own lust for power. It seems more and more like a retelling of Ocarina in a different light. Eh. Maybe I'll write about my Zelda timeline theories in a different post. Not here though
Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory
BACK TO KH BABY! This is a rhythm game, so I don't have too much to say. I've never really played any rhythm game before this, and I'm not sure if this one is on par with the more well-known rhythm titles out there, but I had a good time with it. Its great for people who like Kingdom Hearts music, lmao. You have a lot of unlockable character groups to play through the music with and level them up, but once I unlocked the Days trio I didn't really go for the others too much. Xion my beloved.
The story is hilariously shallow, almost insulted considering its Kairi's first solo outing, technically. She's on her quest to learn all the KH lore she missed out on, and eventually finds a repressed memory of a grown adult monologuing at a toddler for fifteen minutes. Also that her boyfriend is alive so that her boyfriend's boyfriend can go save him. Her boyfriend's boyfriend is also her boyfriend. Fight me.
Kingdom Hearts III
People were. So upset when this game came out. Acted like it was the biggest disappointment since the ill-fated economic crisis of '07. Sure, yea, that's a reference. Well this is the first time I've gone into it and I'm here to say this is probably among my favorite KH games of all time. Strong competitor with BBS. A lot of the criticisms of the story and gameplay weren't wrong per-say, but the issues with this game, such a goofy dialogue, bizarre pacing, and over complicated exposition dumps, are problems with the entire series that fans of the series, in my opinion, have come to see as endearing elements of Kingdom Hearts. Its funny to watch the big cloak guy point at Sora and say "Darkness Light Heart Darkness," and see Sora gasp in fear, while also realizing the importance of that dialogue to the story. It's a feature, not a bug.
The worlds in this game are its biggest asset. They are huge, heavily detailed, heavily explorable areas with tons to discover. Hell, the Pirates of the Caribbean world acts as a slightly smaller Wind Waker. The game adds in most of the mechanics from all the spin offs to give you a lot of toys to play with, such as parkour or sharpshooting, that are easy to forget but a treat to use when you actually remember them.
A central theme of each of the Disney worlds is happy endings. Hercules finally takes down Hades for good. Mike and Sully are able to visit Boo without risk to her safety. The dead Baymax from that one Disney movie gets a redemption arc. Frozen and Tangled play out exactly as their movie which is kind of boring. This correlates with the happy endings the rest of the supporting cast get to experience, including the initially tragedies of the BBS and Days trio in scenes that genuinely got tears out of me. But Sora doesn't get a happy ending. He sacrifices himself to strong-arm everyone else into their perfect circumstance. Literally breaks the rules of time and space to force the universe into saving his friends at the cost of his own life. And then Hell turns out to be Tokyo so its not all that bad. It makes you feel for the boy. This game also lets you play as Kairi in the DLC which makes me happy.
Alright ending this here. I've played way too many games this year this isn't even half. Also only including games I've finished, and games with definitive endings. I played Mario Kart 7 but that doesn't rlly end, ya know? Will try to write these weekly, even if no ones reading them. But if you do read them tell me what you think! Gonna switch over to books next week to even it out. I swear I don't just play games. This is the last Kingdom Hearts game on this list too I swear.

My favorite thing is seeing critics making a "Finally reviewing the worst game in the franchise" video and starting off the video with "It's time... Strap yourselves in because I'm reviewing... THAT game", making you think they're reviewing an infamously hated game, and the game in question is quite literally widely accepted as the best one
And they're all too smug and sure that people en masse will agree with them because they think it's the most popular opinion regarding the game, but it's quite the opposite because everyone's just looking at them like

Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth by Sleep - A Fragmentary Passage
Kingdom Hearts 0.2-A Fragmentary Passage- is an odd duck even beyond its ridiculous title.  Released as part of the Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD collection, it contains a short scenario starring Aqua after the events of Birth by Sleep‘s “Secret Episode,” possibly stitched together out of ideas left over from the dead “Birth by Sleep vol 2”.  Mechanically, the game serves as a sort of demo for Kingdom Hearts 3 with unique story and levels, and sure enough, there are parts in Kingdom Hearts 3 where you can play as Aqua, virtually unmodified from this prototype. But the game features a few elements of its own, even outside of mechanics updated in the finalized Kingdom Hearts 3.

Game 39: Kingdom Hearts 3
I don't think I'm trending new ground here when I say Kingdom Hearts 3 is a disappointment. The sequel just promised so much about itself that it honestly had no hope of pleasing everybody. What I didn't think would happen however is how much the game spreads itself thin to make it feel like there is a bunch of things to do. There is a ton of great things to say about Kingdom Hearts 3, but there is a lot here that makes it feel a bit rushed when it comes down to it.
What I can absolutely praise Kingdom Hearts 3 for is the sheer amount of content we got for it. KH3 contains game & watch style mini-games, a full on cooking mini game, a bubble bobble type puzzle game, photo mode, and an entirely revamped gummi ship mode that let's you explore full maps. Throughout playing KH3 I consistently thought about how neat the whole thing was. Nearly every little thing here is thought through to the point that little details kinda just add an extra charm to how well they are crafted. I genuinely can't express how floored I was when I found out how many mini games the Game & Watch like titles had. Like honestly, I'm sure people would buy little handheld titles like this in real life. The fact that the gummi ship mode is like it's own little arcade shooter also really helped break up the pacing by giving a somewhat challenging and neat mode to play with when we just want to explore. The photo mode even adds a much needed collection element with the hidden mickey's being scattered throughout the worlds. Honestly as much as I hate the brainwashing technique; gamifying it was the way to go. Add that together with a bunch of different mini games in game, and you really start to see that what KH3 did was pay attention to everything, but the main game.
Games being easy shouldn't be seen as a problem, and I would rather encourage it over making something super hard. Providing a challenge is always a unique issue to any given game because each gameplay style is just different, from both players and games alike. So what did KH3 do? Why it made it have so many extra flashy super moves, power ups, summons, and tag team attacks that the only issue is picking the next attack. Really I can't express how easy this game is without mentioning the ride summons. I love the ride summons, I think they are super stylish and a fun thing to do as a sort of mini-game. Sadly though, KH3 doesn't really limit how often you can use them, and constantly feeds you the attacks roughly one minute in any given battle. That is, of course, if you aren't also given a team attack or transformation gauge, and even then it's all in all likely you have all three up to pick from. The game literally feeds you so much "super meter" attacks that I honestly forgot I had additional summons and magic to use. Kingdom Hearts has never been a super nuanced combat system, even at it's peak with KH2, largely the majority of the attack strings are just pressing X at certain times. Here though? You just get over stuffed with options that your brain and battles can't actually engage with combat unless it's something as long as a boss fight. Even then, the problem just becomes using these super moves on the bosses till they die; it truly feels like KH3 just doesn't trust the player enough to give them a proper challenge. Perhaps what is most maddening about this though is just the fact the combat is actually good? Something that returned, and what I love about Dream Drop Distance is the movement options. You are able to dash, jump, and even ride rails like you were in the previous game straight from the start. While you don't have full access to everything right away; you are given enough to ensure you can work toward more movement options later on. This combined with combat has always made Kingdom Hearts far more engaging to me as it gives it a lot more style compared to the previous two entries where combat just feels far too slow and stiff. Being able to block and dodge immediately is a standard, and the fact the previous two main games hide that away always hurt it's combat. As previously addressed though, any combat you do get into is often over before you know, overloaded with some super moves, or can just be walked passed. The only time it actually feels you are playing the game really is during mini-games or boss battles, and it really is a shame because I honestly do see the combat here be on par with what we got with Dream Drop Distance, although far more busted.
One thing KH3 solidly did right tho is the Disney worlds. While some have far more to do in others, or at least feel constructed better story wise, each one has plenty of weight to them. I don't think every world out there is particularly amazing, but compared to the worlds of the past, it feels like it's an actual place. Like Tangled's world for instance. While I can tell there is quite a bit of context taken out, largely the game provided enough there that made me absolutely engrossed with the world and characters. I felt like we were on a proper journey to deliver Rapunzel to the Corona kingdom, and it hit enough emotional beats to feel invested. Even places like the Big Hero 6 World where it kinda feels slapped on story wise still has an incredibly large city to explore. Nothing feels like it was left out, or repeated when it comes to the gameplay of these worlds, and it's something I'm finally happy to see come to fruition. Unfortunately, there is nothing to help save the story of Kingdom Hearts. While I know some like to argue that you just need to pay attention, or that the Disney worlds are the less interesting part; Kingdom Hearts 3 most boring bits are the continuing story. Like I have played through all the kingdom hearts games that are needed to be played through with the exception of the mobile game, and I can tell you that the only extra Kingdom Hearts game you need to play is Birth By Sleep. Without knowing the context of why Aqua is in the darkness helps a lot when the game finally decides to have a plot, it still doesn't save the rest of the story. Constantly they interject these Disney worlds with a random black cloak members, but in the end the only real take away is that sometimes characters outside of Sora will interact and it's nice. The rest of the time though? It's like they pop up and say "the plot is going to happen Sora BOOO" then screw off. Even the "final payoff" of getting these battles together is just Sora taking everyone's victories away. There is absolutely no fanfare for other characters in a way that matters, and honestly it's perhaps the biggest downer when it comes to Kingdom Hearts 3. Long way to say it, but Kingdom Hearts 3 is just a game that shoved itself with so many things that it legitimately forgot to be a proper conclusion to it's own story. Even with all the other games under my belt it's still a hapless mess, and one that even gets in it's own way when it's trying to be fun. Still to say I didn't enjoy it is a lie. This is legit one of my favorite Kingdom Hearts game because it just has so many neat things to it. I kinda respect a lot of aspects to it because a lot of the things they have been working on, or that they introduce, work so well. I just implore anyone wanting to play the game to not do so for the story or challenge, but because you can explore. Just don't look for any real substance here, it's just an average game with a very stylish way of failing to met expectations.

Req 1: central role - ....that's an automatic failure oops! you could argue he's important in Chain of Memories but he shows up for like 20 minutes total </3 but this is for fun so let's keep going anyway
Req 2: human/humanoid - yeah
Req 3: not a star of a sequel - ...yeah
Req 4: royal by birth, royal by marriage, or heroic deed - how about ROYAL BY ADOPTION. he's never called a prince or anything but Ansem's the ruler of the land, so A CHECK IN MY BOOK
Req 5: film (game) was an overwhelming success/underwhelming failure - from Chain of Memories on wikipedia, "Though not as successful as the other Kingdom Hearts games, it received positive reviews and sold well", so.... yes!
Req 6: massive appeal and recognition - okay listen he already failed the Central Role test and he'll never beat Axel BUT one of the "questions" the interviewer asked in the kh2 ultimania interview was "Looks like Zexion has a lot of fans." and none of the other members of the organization got that mention so it's a yes to me

Just so people know I have zero interest with Roleplay or being on Twitter at all. Tumblr is so much fun when publishing ad for fanfiction fun projects. I use to have a Twitter fanfiction just for all my writing stories
My favourite way to distress. I was going to write something more for my bio on additional fandoms but all I ended up doing today is playing games 🎮
I did want to write unfinished projects for my Roleplay stories for: ffxv, kingdom hearts, crossover novels that I had in mind but I never got to do 😂 because I was too busy this year. I still can't believe is October and before I know it would be Christmas 💜
I hope you all have an amazing week/month. So if people think who is this lady, oh I know this lady: I have literally no time for crazies. So if people want to make a bomb of something I would still blocked. Heck I block all the pornos tumblrs. Yeah I'm surprised they're there and like the heck?
After few months longer. I was laughing with all my old twitter accounts messages and was spring cleaning. It does feel bloody good. 📨💜
I do miss gaming in a weird way. Kind of want to play Kingdom Hearts birth by sleep. I had the urge to play FFXIII suddenly. What's wrong with me? Imagine if you leave me alone for a month - I end up gaming all month. 😂💜 And I wouldn't give a shit about anything else. I would be too fixated about the game trophies I want to collect. The thing I like about birth by sleep is the level and when playing FFX have anyone tried the expert sphere grid? Sheesh. The nodes where you can fill it all out. 😂 I absolutely didn't like playing blitzball.
But the pain! The pain! 😭 and I use to also like sharing my gaming on social media until PS4 decides to ban it 😤 like why? 😒 It's just a game! Like come on we can't share our gaming experience play time? That would be very cool. Would have made a walkthrough for kingdom hearts if Facebook PS4 allowed it.
I'm also scared of leaving a review for people now on archive of our own because somebody got really shitty when I got excited over a fandom and over a fic until they berated me for it. So I lost the courage and said fuck it not my time to deal with fools. So I didn't do it anymore. 💔
I keep to myself more often and just read for fun and relax my mind. Two things that relaxes my mind for off days: write fics and read a really good stories. Now why do I have such a strong urge to collect all those trophies on FFXV? If I could I want a Noctis Luna battle wall paper over my ps4 background!!! That would be cool! The Ardyn episode was really cool. I played it once! I had way too much fun playing him 🤣 but bit too short for my liking.
Or a Kingdom Hearts 3 best keybladers! That would be awesome! Either way would work just shows which ones I was more mad about
Uh I haven't touch my PS4 for ages. I don't need a PS5. If you ask me which consoles I like I still prefer PS4. If people sell my PS4 I would be so mad and buy it back then kick your ass for it. 😆
I was more mad about kingdom hearts to the point I want to collect all of it. My favourite trio is still: Ventus, Aqua and Terra. 🥹 When I retire I would go back to gaming and be a gamer 😆💜

Overly Formal Introduction
Welcome to the Tumblr page of Reading Too Much Into Things, a failed Youtube pop culture Archeologist, Archive, and Analysis channel with a primary focus on Japanese Tokusatsu (live action special effects) primary two branches, Kamen Rider and Super Sentai for recap and review purposes. It lasted for, I think, a year and a half. But enough about me, what do YOU think about me?
While I am not on the same side of any spectrum that will land me with an overriding Hyper Fixation, I do have a LOT of media I care deeply about, know an annoying amount about and will over share, or will get very defensive over criticisms over. I refuse to define myself or my personality off of being a fan of one of, or any, of these popular mass medias.
Fate franchise (stay/night, zero, grand order primarily)
Kobayashi's Maid Dragon
Re:Creators
Bleach
Kamen Rider franchise (Faiz, Gaim, Fourze, Anno's Shin Kamen Rider, favorites)
Super Sentai (Deka, Shinken, Kyouryu, Gokai, favorites)
Gundam franchise (G, G-witch, Wing, Build Fighters, IBO, favorites)
Darkwing Duck
Batman: The Animated Series
OK K.O. Let's Be Heroes
Steven Universe
Kingdom Hearts (Birth by Sleep favorite game)
Anime Studio Trigger (Darling in the Franxx is NOT a trigger anime)
Fromsoft video games (have finished Dark Souls 1 & 3, Bloodborne, and Sekiro)
Final Fantasy franchise (yet to finish any mainline title other than 7 Remake part 1)
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
Owl House (I will never forgive Disney)

hi im going to talk about kingdom hearts with no aim or major point
finally going through and playing the kingdom hearts series is such an experience for me because like. even though i barely played them these games were really part of my childhood.
i used to watch my sister play them all the time and just thought they looked so cool. i wasn't really a disney kid or anything, i didnt have any attachments to the characters. eventually, my sister got to the lion king world in kh2, and that being one of the first and only worlds i really recognized, i told her i wanted to play the game. so she set me up with kingdom hearts 2 and let me play the game on my own.
i know every game reviewer from 2006 hates the first few hours of kingdom hearts 2, but personally, i loved them. i pretty much instantly fell in love with roxas and his story. (i really relate to some parts of it to be honest). and i wasn't very good at video games, actually only recently did i start getting better, but this was one of the first games where i could understand the plot.
i played the entire opening. i got up to sora's introduction, and i was so fucking confused. i just wanted roxas back. i stuck around twilight town for as long as i could reasonably justify, i redid the skateboarding minigame over and over, i just walked around. i stalled until i couldnt justify it anymore and then i tried to continue. i got all the way to hollow bastion before i gave up.
i kept coming back to kingdom hearts 2 over the years. every once and a while i would try to continue it again, but i could never really get past the first hour or so with sora. all i wanted was to keep playing in twilight town with roxas. one time i even tried to pick up the first game but i just couldnt get into it.
then earlier this year, i was out with some friends and i saw the kingdom hearts 2 manga on the shelf, and i thought what the hell, why not read it. i read part of it, then i bought it, and i read up to the end of roxas' story and started crying. i kept reading until the end of the twilight town story. a few days later i booted up the game again and replayed roxas' story and started crying. and then i just decided to play the rest of the series. now im playing through birth by sleep.
anyways kh2 is pretty good. but as much as i love sora now, roxas will still always mean more to me.

Kingdom Hearts 1: Review
I never had the privilege of beating this game until this year. (And even then, I somewhat wasn't the one to beat it).
I don't remember how I acquired it, but as a child, I somehow got my hands on a copy of Kingdom Hearts 1 on the PS2. I believe someone either gave it to me of their own free will or let me borrow it but forgot to ask for it back. Either way, I played Kingdom Hearts every now and then as a kid, but I never reached far. After the tutorial and the first island, I don't think I ever really got past the first level. I was too young and inexperienced to find a way to surpass one of the first boss fights in the game. But, a few years ago, I acquired the "The Story so Far" Kingdom Hearts collection, acquiring every game out at the time, (minus Kingdom Hearts 3). After putting significant time into Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep, I decided to take a crack once more at the first Kingdom Hearts game for the first time in over a decade. I managed to clear multiple levels with varying degrees of ease until I got stuck on that big demon bitch from Fantasia. (Chernabog). I died too many times, and rage quitted, not picking up the game for at least a year. I picked up from where I left off that year and managed to beat him after dying several other times but hit a wall once again. The final boss, Ansem, and his different variations and boss forms are ridiculous. First, you have to fight Ansem on the island from the beginning of the game alongside Goofy and Donald. It was an egregiously taxing endeavor, but it's absolutely doable. But after beating him, you have to fight him again without Goofy and Donald, and I just can not. Those animals were carrying me the first go around, and without them I am incapable. Shoutout to my friend who managed to beat his ass for me after grinding a collective few hours, basically carrying me to the finish line.
There's no way I could have beaten Ansem the next few times without help. But now that it's finished on my account, let's talk about it.
The plot of the Kingdom Hearts franchise is incredibly convoluted and hard to follow, but the first game's story is, mercifully, the easiest and most comprehensible without taking into account events from other games. You play a fourteen-year-old boy named Sora after his home is destroyed by dastardly creatures called the Heartless. Along the journey, Sora tries to restore his world and reunite with his friends, while running into well-known and beloved Disney characters, as well as some Final Fantasy characters. Donald Duck and Goofy join him along the way as you jump into worlds from popular Disney films. Releasing initially in America on September 17, 2002, on the PS2, the game still doesn't look too bad, graphics-wise, for being over twenty years old.
Part of the charm in Kingdom Hearts stems from how likable and cutesy our protagonist Sora is as he interacts with iconic Disney princesses, villains, and everyone in between. There's Atlantica from The Little Mermaid, Neverland from Peter Pan, Halloween Town from Nightmare Before Christmas, Agrabah from Aladdin, and other well-known worlds, plus some original places. From a design perspective, roaming around these popular fictional worlds feels akin to watching the movies once more. Roaming around the bizarre world of Wonderland is none too different from Alice's own escapades in the original film. What's even more remarkable is how the team behind the game, the minds at Square Enix, managed to get most of the original voice actors and actresses to reprise the roles of their esteemed characters for the game. It helps add authenticity while you're combatting the Heartless. (Except they couldn't get Robin Williams to reprise as Genie in Agrabah, opting for Dan Castlellaneta to voice him instead, which is fine, but all I hear is Homer Simpson whenever Genie talks). Some levels are more inspiring and fun than others, but most are a riot to traverse through. I love how depending on the world, you can bring along a character to help you fight enemies. When you're in Deep Jungle, the same jungle from the film Tarzan, you can replace Donald or Goofy and have Tarzan accompany you in the fight if you please. I wish they could tag along instead, rather than outright replace Donald or Goofy but I appreciate that they can even tag along with you, to begin with...
Enemies' designs are another plus, as I love how the Heartless looks will vary in each world. Adopting spooky looks to fit the vibe of Halloween Town, fish, and merman looks in Atlantica, and animals like monkeys in Deep Jungle are what make the first game so unique from most other action RPGs. The gameplay in KH1 is still fun. The weapon Sora uses, a Keyblade, has weight to it as you smack around bosses and enemies alike. Dodging and deflecting attacks, casting spells, and swinging your blade is an uproariously satisfactory feeling that was only improved in future games like Birth By Sleep and Kingdom Hearts 2.
There are a few gripes I have with the game, however. Some levels are nowhere near as fun to go through, lacking in care as Halloween Town or Wonderland. I like that the Pinocchio representation is that you go inside the whale Monstro rather than a town, and I enjoy the flash of colors within the massive whale as you travel throughout his body. But the maze-like structure of the world gets tiresome real quick as you struggle to go where you need. Neverland is incredibly limited as you can only head toward Captain Hook's ship or Big Ben, which are small in scale.
And Tarzan's Deep Jungle just fucking sucks.
Besides a few poor-level designs, my other gripe stems from the sudden uptick in difficulty within the last hour or two. I already mentioned Chernabog and Ansem, but besides them, the final leg of the game becomes unnecessarily more difficult and rage-inducing. It's a steep contrast from the rest of the game. Honestly, most of the game is durable, but it's just right at the end when it becomes ridiculously unfair.
Story-wise, it's just cheesy goodness. That's all I'll say. It's a blast to see Sora, Donald, and Goofy interact with classic Disney and game characters. The game isn't perfect, but it's fun and still holds up twenty years later. I'm glad I got to see through to the end, and I'm looking forward to going through the rest of the franchise, the game is greeaaaaaat. 4/5.

Another solid Disneycember Kingdom Hearts review from Doug Walker. His conclusion is basically the same as mine: Birth by Sleep isn’t particularly great, but it’s pretty damn good. Birth by Sleep is to Kingdom Hearts III what Kingdom Hearts is to Kingdom Hearts II; the former having the superior story, cast of characters and overall atmosphere but the latter being a superior overall game. And yeah, while the gameplay is definitely a leftover relic from its handheld roots, it otherwise translates to console superbly and I love playing it that way.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep
Birth by Sleep, which originally saw release on PSP, and would begin to set up the next big arc for the series. For this entry, the story jumps ten years into the past, to focus on a group of Keyblade wielders that had only appeared in hints and cameos during Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix+.
