Luffy -

He thought you were just making up words and started copying you.

Once you explain that you're speaking a different language, maybe a native language or one you've learned, he's so impressed. Luffy's not really good with words and knowing that you know like twice as much as him is awesome.

I hc that there are accents in the OP world too and I love the hc that Luffy has a very different way of speaking than the others. I think it's adorable.

Zoro -

What. Huh? He's so confused.

Where did this come from and why has he just noticed? Zoro can be a bit of a dud when it comes to noticing some things and so it took him a minute to process. But in the end he's ultimately pretty fascinated by it. He likes the way you talk even if he can't understand you.

Sanji -

Heart burst. He's swooning like he usually does but he's also very curious. Sanji might sit with you and ask questions or have you teach him a few phrases. Maybe teach him words for food or complements he'll love that.

Nami -

Full focus on you, tell her more. She won't understand but she's listening. Nami kind of just stares at you as you speak and admires your voice, she'll absentmindedly mouth some of the easier words. It's so cute, but she thinks you're cute too.

She will make you teach her insults to give to rude creeps she comes across.

Usopp -

"Write that down, write that down!"

He's taking notes because this is so new to him, he wants to learn more. When did you learn? What part of the world does your language come from? Endless questions and endless appreciation, he's just happy to listen and ask.

Robin -

Robin knows at least one or two languages aside from being able to read the Poneglyphs, mainly because she's well travelled and had to adapt. But your language is new to her and she's very interested. What are the origins of the language, who spoke it and what does it look like in written form?

She'll ask you to teach her a little bit, she's a sponge for knowledge.

Franky -

No idea what's going on but he's happy to be along for the ride. He'll hear you say random words or sentences in your language and even if he doesn't understand he'll still say "that's super".

Brook -

A bilingual man, can't tell me otherwise. Your language is new to him and though he doesn't study languages, he'll have you exchange words he knows for ones you can teach him. Enjoy long conversations about it over tea and biscuits.

And no, no matter what he says don't teach him the word for panties.

Jinbe -

Another bilingual and he'll bond with you over that. The language he knows was one commonly used in the fishman district but was forcibly forgotten by regular merfolk because of oppression and the WG. He likes to keep it alive when he can and he'll appreciate it if you share your knowledge between eachother.

Law -

In my hc Flevance had it's own dialect which he sometimes still falls into the habit of. Law appreciates your language and finds it very soothing to listen to you talk or sing if you do. It's quite charming.

Kid -

He will yell at you at first to stop babbling and making things up until you explain that it's your language. If he likes you enough he'll apologise and let you continue. At first he's acting like he doesn't care but the more he listens to you the more he warms up to the sound. So if you randomly stop talking he'll zip around and say "Why'd you stop? Keep talking".

Killer -

Pretty neutral about this, and he compliments you on it. He thinks it could be useful in the future if you need to communicate with people. Killer likes it when you talk to yourself in little mumbles in your language, it's hard not to chuckle and look at you.

I want content of the crew telling Jinbe stories about their time together

How Luffy once battled a lightning god (he’s made of rubber!), and that the reason they met Franky in the first place was because the gang he used to lead robbed them out of 200 million berry (that he later used to build the ship they’re standing on). And the first time Luffy and Sanji met Chopper they tried to cook him (and sometimes Luffy looks like he still wants to cook him please protect him Jinbe). Robin was not asked to join the crew, she invited herself (and later used her powers of persuasion on Franky). Usopp was the one who designed their jolly roger, but Luffy’s og design is the one they graffitied onto reverse mountain’s whale. (Brook’s treasured friend. What do you mean they graffitied his whale!). Nami once tried to work under Buggy the Clown (did not get the job). Zoro thought Luffy already had a crew and a boat when he agreed to join him (and burst into somewhat hysterical laughter when he saw the dingy they’d be sailing on for the next several days).

There’s so much for this bitches to reminisce about, and there’s something really nice about letting someone new into these little parts of your life. Also I want to watch Jinbe’s respect for them as functional adults to exponentially drop while affection takes its place.

he encourages nearly everything you do

you wanna run around blasting the canons into the water just to see if they explode ?? he’s right there beside you, helping you shoot

you wanna take the brachio tank v out for a spend on the prairie ?? go ahead and take the keys. just make sure you bring it back all in one piece

he surprises you with aloha shirts so the two of you can match each other !! he even gets them personalized with your names on them and everything :,)

but he can never stay mad at you long. the second you give him puppy eyes or start to cry, he gets all about it

he definitely wants you to do his signature pose with him. he’ll literally hold it for an embarrassingly long time…in public, until you join him and say “super!” like you mean it

you have said “dad…please stop” more times than you can count

jinbei absolutely adores children so much. he’s already such a dad. he wants his own so bad

but with the life he’s lived up to this point, he knows it would be dangerous to bring a child into this world

that is where you, his lovely adoptive daughter, come in to add some sunshine to his life

when you first join the crew, jinbei is quite quiet. outside of his usual good mornings, good nights, and making a bit of small talk with you, he doesn’t say much

but it doesn’t take long for him to become fond of you. it starts to show when he unconsciously guards you when there is an enemy nearby

he knows you’re more than capable to take care of yourself, but he doesn’t want to take any chances

he realizes he thinks of you as a daughter after you join in on one of his meditation sessions, where you struggled to focus

watching you struggle, he gave some very helpful tips that you applied to your technique

your eyes were closed so you couldn’t see, but his eyes were wide open, looking at you with the proudest dad smile the world has ever seen

jinbei teaches you some basics in fishman karate, should you ever need them. he would be THRILLED to teach you more if you want to

he’s so happy inside being able to share his techniques with you

he becomes even more protective of you. he keeps you in his sight usually, worried that if you slip off you could be in danger

such as the one time you left his eyesight for five seconds and followed luffy off to a house rooftop and NEARLY FELL

he has never experienced such panic in his life. he was screaming, crying, a second away from throwing up

when you turned around to give him a thumbs up that you were okay, he sighed in relief. you almost gave him a heart attack that day

his heart melts when you fall asleep on his shoulder. he will not move because he does not want to wake you. he’ll stay there for hours if he has to

he likes to pick up pretty seashells and bring them back to give to you

if you ever turn any of them into a necklace or a bracelet, he’ll cry tears of joy

if you ever refer to him as your dad to other people, he’ll sob a little

he’s so precious and he loves you so much :,)

Luffy -

Unique looks

Luffy doesn't judge by appearance, but that doesn't mean he doesn't find some people's looks really fascinating.

It's more in an appreciative way, if you look different compared to the crowd he can't help but stare. It can feel rude and a bit invasive if you don't know him, but you'll get used to it once you realise he means nothing bad.

Wings, horns, colourful scales, long legs or even just very cool eyes, he's immediately all eyes on you.

Having patience for him

Luffy's a very energetic ball of sunshine, he has to shine bright or he'll burn out. The captain is full of random little stories, factoids and comments. If you show interest in any of his interests he'll be happy, but it's if you listen and remember that really gets him.

Taking the time to memorize bugs he's shown you, or recalling little details of a story he's told you, makes him feel a little giddy inside.

Zoro -

Comfortable silence

The ability to have long, silent moments together is what he really appreciates. He's not very talkative and he's not a very experienced conversationalist, so sharing these comfortable quiet moments means a lot to him.

You aren't trying to force him to speak and it's a nice cool down from the day that would have already been so loud, especially on the ship.

Acts of service

Zoro isn't big on giving or expecting things, but it's nice that you take the time to care about him and do things for him just because you can. It doesn't have to be anything big, it could be as simple as bringing him a glass of water without him asking.

Nami -

Chatting and gossip

Nami likes conversation, it gives her a connection to others. Listening and sharing on an equal ground, an exchange of information.

If she's telling you about some juicy gossip she's heard and you happen to know more details about that certain situation, whilst showing interest in it, she'll be all ears. It quite literally melts her heart if you get all excited to tell her.

Quality time

Sit in a room with her, join her on deck or go shopping with her. Nami likes being near you so be near her. It doesn't even have to involve spending money, she just likes looking at window displays too.

Sanji -

Appreciating him and others

Congratulations, you've just thanked him for making you a snack and now he's kicking his feet like a merry school girl. But seriously, just being kind about his efforts and thanking him at meal times is brilliant.

Sanji is a guy who thrives on doing acts of service for others. If you let him pamper you he'll be putty in your hands.

Trying new things and being open

From something as small as trying new food, to as big as testing out new battle tactics. Sanji loves someone who's willing to try new things or adjust in situations that need it. Not saying you need to be very flexible, you can still hold your ground and say no and he'll completely love you for it.

Robin -

Sharing facts and culture

Robin is a sponge for knowledge. If you have something to tell that she might not know, tell her. Especially if you're part of a different culture or have experience with islands and languages she doesn't know.

Making jokes

Robin likes people with humour, whether it be Luffy's silly antics that are quite literally magnetic or Franky's oddball tendencies. Adding a whole new humour to the crew, and to her life, is a breath of fresh air.

You could make her smile or chuckle, laughing reminds her of her childhood friend a lot. It's a distraction from the harsh world she's lived in.

Usopp -

Looking out for him

It's true that he can be a scaredy cat, and he can defend himself, but it's nice having someone willing to fight for you too. Having you watch his back or shield him really means a lot.

You take into consideration his fears and his worries, by putting yourself there as his barrier it's just so kind of you. He'll immediately be at your side any time there's a battle now.

Listening to him

He values his opinion and his ideas, but often doesn't have the voice to speak up. By lending your ear, he opens up much more.

He'll get used to coming to you with ideas and blue prints, asking for your opinion on certain things.

Franky -

Not holding yourself too seriously

He likes people that aren't too stiff. Of course you can still be serious when needed, but he values the ability to change between that and normality. Laughing with him, at him or at yourself because it's no big deal.

Joking and poking fun is a big deal for him, being weird too. Not judging him for who he is means the world to him.

Intelligence

Doesn't have to be book smart or science smart, but someone with the ability to think critically. Even just having battle smarts is really cool to him, you can hold your own and know what you're doing.

Making quick and calculated decisions is also what makes you so interesting to him, because it shows that you won't break under pressure.

Brook -

Enjoying food or drink together

Join him for a cup of tea, or for a box or chocolates. He likes just being in someone else's company and it means a lot that you'd choose him to spend time with.

Singing, dancing or humming

You don't have to be musically talented, but if you are you might as well have just shot him with an arrow to the heart. His love of music plus his infatuation with you? What better could there be?

If you sing to him instrument playing, or play along with him he'll be so over the moon. Enjoying the rhythm with some dancing or swaying is also appreciated.

Jinbe -

Judging based on knowledge not appearance

He hates when people just assume things based on looks. Be it to himself or others, he hates it.

So if you take the time to actually dislike or like someone because you know them or you have reasons, not just because of how they look, he respects you. And hey, if it's someone he happens to dislike too he'll actively judge them with you. Not with words, but with looks and glares.

Listening and understanding him

He has wisdom so use it and he has knowledge so take it in. He's an experienced man so if you actually take what he has to offer and adapt yourself to it, he'll start to look at you with a very fond light. You could sit with him, listening to him tell you about navigation, ships and history and he'll already be super happy that you care

Vivi -

Saying no

Being strong enough to hold your own and stick to your morals and opinions is really inspiring to her. Saying no can be difficult, and for you to say it to strong foes or even just regular people who aren't being reasonable says a lot about you.

But she also values someone who adapts. Don't constantly say no, be open. But when you need to then stick to your gut.

Giving her knowledge and guidance

Vivi's clever but she lacks certain world experience. Your guidance, with things you've experienced, is helpful. She wants to be the best ruler she can be so she needs all the knowledge she can get.

But don't mistake her, she's smart as hell and knows a lot. Don't treat her like she's naive, treat her like an equal and let it be a fair trade.

Note: I won't add Chopper but I might in the future for platonic things. He's only a baby :)

just.... thinking about the Warlords adopting their Seraphim counterparts after all of this blows over (or at least those that survive to the end)....

like, Crocodile keeps bananawani for pets and likes small animals.... a 20ft tall daughter wouldn’t faze him one bit. He would prob insist on giving them a normal name instead of S-Crocodile.

Hancock and S-Snake maybe won’t get along.... Hancock is a very jealous person and S-Snake is a bit of a troll (from what we’ve seen of her so far). The two of them would be more rival sisters.

Mihawk and S-Hawk prob would have a more formal relationship. . Mihawk isn’t totally without feelings, but he’d likely treat S-Hawk much like he did Perona and Zoro back on his is island. I can see S-Hawk ending up as Zoro’s understudy or second instead.

Jinbe is rather unique as he already encountered S-Shark, but right now they are on opposing sides. He was polite to S-Snake, which to me, indicates that he would treat the others like individuals and people as well. Once everything blows over, he is very likely to take S-Shark under his fin.
