1. I really like observing things and people. The minutest of details of mundane life. They contribute a lot to my thoughts and inner world. Hence, the blog name!

2. I love dabbling in both the sciences and the arts. The intersection of the two and the way I see them makes my life so much richer.

3. I am good at communication: oral and written. It is helpful in my relationships, and in my profession as I communicate my work to an audience.

4. I am still a child at heart. God knows that has kept me sane through the hardships of life.

5. I have unlearnt a lot of my biases against myself and people, and it still blows my mind. It has expanded my worldview so much!

🌻 I am left handed and my hand is really fucked up from writing and drawing far too much for the last 15 years

🌻 I've studied Hebrew, German and Japanese in university/school, and English is not my native language

🌻My thesis, to summarize it in super few extremely few words, was on Good and/vs Evil in Second Temple Judaism - trust me it's awesome because we got angels and demons and deities and text analysis and history and archeology and honestly everything and it's not religious nor philosophical, it's mainly anthropology, God I love it

i know how toxic fandom spaces can be. i experienced that being a dean winchester fan in the spn fandom for years. but i always hold hope that there are genuinely good fandom and people. i guess i got it from my dad? since he is the same. he always believes the best in everyone. some might call it being navïe. but for me, it’s what keeps me going for friendships online.

from particular parts of the spn fandom (both from sam and castiel stans, i mean extreme ones and nobody else) they treated me so badly i got traumatized and left fandoms for years. it’s only these recent years i joined marvel fandom and felt somewhat safe in the stucky and winterbaron fandom spaces. it took me a while to feel comfortable and still does sometimes. doesn’t help my autism at times makes me feel constantly underneath a glass for inspection. and if i fail, nobody will stay.

i used to rp bucky barnes on twitter. but i got cancelled since i was getting too popular for a clique’s liking. that’s why i avoid try becoming popular or anything. and instead have my own safe space i constantly curate for my well-being.

but those who are my friends (also from wattpad, a place i’ve been in a very long time regarding fandoms and original writings) know that i’m a loyal friend. i’ve stayed by people’s side when nobody else would. i know how it is to be an outsider. even in a community.

this was a long post, sorry for my random uh, thoughts i guess?

FEEL YOUR SKIN

One-shot comic from the past year about my experiences coping with gender dysphoria and assigned binary roles. Feat my birdsona Maggie and Acantho (early design, changed a bit since then).

… practically I'm baring my heart and brain here; also my views are not facts, I know talking about these themes in public can help others to realize and reflect on their own views. Something I find pleasant and one of my main objectives when sharing my comics!

From my side: I always felt uneasy about my gender because, since my teenage days, I saw how different girls were treated than boys. Because I was a "girl" I needed to look like this or that to be treated like one and UGH.

I felt sad and angry with myself for not falling properly into my assigned label so I practically rejected all of it to the point of hating everything "femme" coded… I was so wrong.

It wasn't the fault of the label, the clothes, aesthetics, colors, etc, or even the roles but of society for imposing them without any flexibility or room to question and reinvent them.

The script for this comic is from October 2022 during a time when I was questioning if I was non-binary and--. I thought: if someday I wish to use that label, first I need to make peace with this other part of me. And in the next months, that's what I tried to do and I found I didn't hate it as I used to do.

That doesn't mean I will go back to it by default just that now I understand and cherish its existence as another option for me to choose when I feel like it! And even… I want to let some traits of it be part of my new gender expression in the future.

And to keep admiring and loving people that surround me and identify with it.

And because I have gotta admit: IT FEELS SO GOOD TO JUST BE SEXY FOR YOURSELF.

As a reminder that good exists out there, a coworker recently confessed to me that he found out his child is questioning their identity (kid's gender redacted for this post). The kid is keeping it from him, so he can't say anything to them or show that he knows, but he's doing his best to get mentally prepared and educated so that he'll be ready whenever his kid does feel comfortable enough come to him.

For context, this guy is a big, bulky middle aged dude who loves sports and typical outdoor "manly" activities. As his coworker and friend, I know he's a kind and sweet teddy bear of a person, but his kid probably views him as a stern, authoritarian figure, the way most teenagers view their parents. His family lives in a conservative area, so I'm sure between that, their dad's looks and interests, and the fact that their dad is a Figure of Authority, the kid is worried that they won't be accepted.

But you know what? When he found out about his kid, the first thing he did was reach out to his closest queer friend and ask for resources for parents of questioning children. His biggest fears are that his kid will be bullied or discriminated against and won't feel comfortable enough to be themself. His second action was to find himself a mentor in another parent who went the same situation (kid coming out in a conservative town). The other person is preparing him for some of the struggles his kid may face and the fights he may need to take on as a parent to make sure his kid is safe and treated well.

Something I want to emphasize for people focused on language as the primary method of allyship is that when we spoke, he used some outdated terms and thoughts about gender and sexuality. That does not make him bad. These were the terms and thinking used about questioning teenagers when he was growing up and he never needed to learn more current ones. But now that he does have that need, he's throwing himself in head first because that's his kid and he's darn well going to make sure that his kid feels welcomed and has a safe place to be themselves even if they never come out to him.

#I'm so proud and happy for my coworker and I've been trying to figure out how to let him know how amazing I think he is #what gets me the most is that he's keeping this super down low to avoid giving any hints to his kid #he has a lot of queer friends so he already is known as an ally but there's always a chance it will be different if it's family #and he took that chance and crumpled it up into a ball and slam dunked it into the garbage for three points #and decided that even if his kid wants to hide it from him for the rest of his life he will still do what he can to make their life better #pflag #parents doing their best #parenting win #good news #allyship
