SOOOO UH HI
I redesigned the Divine Warriors sigils
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
People often shorten Irene and Shad’s to only the upper or lower half respectively, but the full symbol is mirrored from the top to bottom. somethingsomething balance somethingsomething reflection somethingsomething morality is in the eyes of the beholder while reality is merely a series of lines and shapes and it is up to the viewer to decide which of them may represent ‘good’ or ‘evil’ somethingsomething the truth behind a symbol is always so much more then those who blindly believe in it
Besides those, Esmound, Enki, Menphia, and Kulzak’s are each meant to vaguely resemble a shield, an infinity symbol, a burning star, and a compass.
As with the rest of my HCs, please ask if you’d like to use these designs for your own work and credit me if you do.

Hello friends!! I am once again workshopping the divine warriors!! Inspired by the jury of nine (conceptually) and a one liner from garroth in early s1 ("by the nine"), I have decided that there should be 9 divines + shad, the exiled divine. That means I have to create 4 more divines and I am STRUGGLING.
Thus far we have: Avon (Irene), patron of growth and healing; Esmund, patron of protection and defense; Menphia, patron of victory and strength; Enki, patron of knowledge and wisdom; Kulzak, patron of travel and wanderlust; Roska, patron of mining and metalsmithing; Absol, patron of beauty and the arts; and Kebek, patron of the sea and storms.
I need one more divine but I cannot for the life of me come up with another concept that would be valued without being overpowered or stepping on the toes of another divine's jurisdiction (several of which are more involved than listed here). I come humbly to you, aphblr, for ideas!! Ideally I'd like to keep away from plant/earth and death themes, but otherwise I'm all ears :) once I have my full roster I'll post and update divine warrior/lore post and be able to finish my next character lineup!!

Enki the keeper hc/rambles
I've always imaged him as a bit of a flirt, which sort of runs in his descent’s family. However: he's much more like Laurance/a Cassanova here than the Travis we know. (basically, he has to be all poetic and dramatic). This bit is most likely canon but he's a HUGE book worm, spending lots of his time reading and even writing. His library was basically his safe/quiet space. While it also stored valuable information, being a divine was STRESSFUL AS FUCK, and it was a nice place to escape to. He was a cup of tea and a book type. He also has a bit of "goofy dad" energy. He can be serious when needed, but also can crack a nice "dad joke" and be a little bit of a goof if it's the right time and place. also, the divine run the afterlife, and Enki has his own library up there. Often if a soul is in distress, they will send said soul to Enki, as he's very kind and good at helping others calm down. Lots of people in the afterlife almost see him as a father figure, and Enki will often ensure to keep in touch with those he comes across. Enki had romantic relations with both shad and Irene (the love triangle is an actual triangle) Unfortunately, war and such kept the relation from progressing, and eventually shad gets banished Irene stays single yadayada we know the story. Enki marries someone else and the whole descendants thing yadayada. Enki was technically killed by the demon warlock. During battle he was mortally wounded and ran out, it was an incredibly cold and snowy night, he ended up resting against a tree and never woke up. It's often debated on if the wound or the hypothermia killed him first. Speaking of the cold, Enki often wears a lot of coats. He just likes them, and will even wear them in hot temperatures (even though he still complains about the heat, often saying "why is it so hot?") also, he's just a little bit clumsy, like not super clumsy, but enough to where it’s a small inside joke among the divine, and enough to where he tries to be extra careful.
oh also he's autistic bc I'm autistic and I do what I want.

questionnnn for no particular reason :) definately none nope :)))
do you have a favorite ship fanfic troupe? or maybe something you'd love to see written out, but haven't? for no reason. none at all (:
Oh fuck someone’s actually asking me things uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I mean it depends on the ship?? Which I think I know what ship you’re talking about. In that case I would be a slut for those idiots being young and pining via miscommunication or misunderstandings of character; OR in the awkward friends stage and being protective of each other—whether that means one’s injured and the other’s Actually Protecting Them (featuring “the one you’d think is chill is actually Danger and the dangerous-looking one is chill”) or some people trashtalking/insulting one right in front of the other and the other is Taking No Shit; OR them in the ‘dating’ stage reuniting after one or both were on long voyage(s) away from each other; OR early-married stage pov of their friends’ as outsiders looking in on their complex relationship (god I love outsider pov); OR of course you can’t go wrong with late in life done-with-being-the-world’s-heroes-and-just-wanting-to-live-out-the-rest-of-their-days-in-domestic-cottagecore-bliss. Idk if these are even tropes but idk how to answer this becuase I would gobble up Literally Anything. Simply just never, ever forget the endless possibilities of hopeful-turned-cynic x jaded-turned-optimist. Oh and if it helps they also raise these two street kids they kidnap adopted cuz when they met them they see nothing but themselves and it’s just…..it’s feels, man.

So in your rewrite why did Araphel destroy Kulzak’s eye and why didn’t Irene heal it. Also do you have any more Kulzak crumbs I humbly beg.
I'M SO GLAD YOU ASKED!!!
In my rewrites Araphel did destroy Kul'zak's eye, it actually happened during that final fight against him as an attempt to stop Kul'zak from shattering his relic. It didn't work, but whatever fucked up and evil magic Araphel used to destroy Kul'zak's eye was something Irene couldn't heal. She tried to, but the wound always repelled her magic away and just didn't work at all.
After the failed attempts Enki whisked Kul'zak off to one of their vacation homes in Galruk and tried to heal him in a variety of different ways. The one that had the most promise and that is considered a core memory for both of them was a potion that Enki spent almost a year figuring out the components for, gathering said components, and then brewing. It was a long, arduous process, and multiple times Kul'zak told Enki that this wasn't necessary. He was perfectly content living without his eye, it was his idea after all, if this is the price to pay then it was worth it.
But Enki can't live with that. "What's the point of all this knowledge if I can't use it to help the people I love?" In the end it didn't work, but the attempt was greatly appreciated. Kul'zak did their best not to let this keep them down, instead turning to try and understand/love this new aspect of his appearance from an artistic sense. He had paintings commissioned of him that depicted him with this new eye in a beautiful way, hoping to show to his fellow wanderers and everyone who saw him that this change didn't make him any less beautiful or worthy of love than before. He and one of their muses even wrote a song about the "One Eyed Wanderer" to cement that this is who Kul'zak is now, and they can live with that.
Oh yeah Kul'zak is so nonbinary in my brain it's not even funny. Every time I think of Kul'zak I just think "You would use neopronouns". Probably star/starself would be their favorites bc Kul'zak is such an astronomer/astrology girl. It's actually how astronomy started as a science in the ancient days. Wanderers, merchants, sailors, farmers, normal people just looked at the stars a lot and noticed patterns in them, wrote those patterns down, and then theorized about them. I imagine stargazing is one of stars favorite pastimes, something they tried to do with each of the divine warriors at least once, including Xavier who wasn't even divine, just this simp who Kul'zak was fond of.
Kul'zak does have everyone's sun signs memorized and Enki is the only one who fully understands what they're saying. Menphina's in a bitchy mood one day and Kul'zak barks "Stop being such a Gemini," to which she yells back "Shove those stars up your ass!!" Irene understands it kind of because she asked Kul'zak what the hell they meant when star said she was "Being a total Sagittarius." Esmund and Araphel do not understand this weird star bull shit at all, but Kul'zak is having fun and they don't understand half of what he says anyways.
I think a lot of music in the MCD world was composed by Kul'zak. He learned how to play many instruments in his time, and possibly made a few of his own, probably some of the weirder ones that have fallen into obscurity. Some of his compositions are credited to different people, and some don't even have his name on it, but that really wouldn't bother them. As long as there is music in the places star once called home, Kul'zak is happy.
Unlike some of his peers, Kul'zak could honestly care less whether anyone remembers him in the future. His name could fall into complete obscurity, his relic could be left to rot somewhere where it will never be found, and all his findings could be attributed to someone else. As long as there are still wanderers, poets, musicians, bards, travelers, and those with free spirits who let themselves love the world they live in the way he did, they're happy. As long as there's still a world for them, he did his job right.

Tell me about Icarus before I cry over your colors /j
RIP </3
omg ok. sorry ivbe forgotten how to feel bad now that youve invoked my ocs. icarus is just some fucking guy. i cannot stress this enough. but theyre also pretty fucked divinely speaking!
so basically icarus is a direct descendant of enki the keeper. this is all fine and good except they hate it so goddamn much. they dont like enki at all. so they decided to dye their white hair black and travel the world to get as far away from their little galruk island as possible as basically a big fuck you to the god they dont care for. bevause their whole childhood revolved around this lineage and they dont want anything to do with it!!! so they travel
for a while icarus is just kinda...... out there. doing fuckall. but then kulzak takes notice of them n blesses them with immortality becayse this is actually kind of hilarious. they dont know theyre immortal but now they rlly cant die so thats a great plus !
the only way they actually connect to the mcd plot is......... really rather slim. their whole timeline lines up with season 1 and the fifteen year timeskip is spent wandering the world. their favorite region is tula because its hot and theres cat people. theyre kindof an idiot and anyone who meets them is actively shocked about how long theyve survived on pure dumbassery alone. theyre also a witch and everything they know is through trial and error. classically trained witches are horrified by their methods
thank u for listening if u have any questions let me know so i can tell u every single detail about them

So the story told
Once upon a time
We were so divine.
You would calls us gods amongst men.
Worship us and our existence.
We had titles, and things to represent.
People would hear our names all the time,
The smallest village to largest kingdom
We were known for centuries, temples built in our memories.
Once upon a time,
You knew me as “the matron”
Irene, kind and sweet.
With healing magick like none else.
Once Upon a time
He was called “The destroyer”
Shad, Smart and cold.
In the light there must be darkness.
Once Upon a time
She was known as “The Fury”
Menphia, Just and strong.
A fire burning that could never be extinguished.
Once Upon a time
They knew me as “the keeper”
Enki, Who else would we trust
To forever keep our secrets safe for us?
Once Upon a time
That they knew him as “The Protector”
Esmund, A guard at heart
Who’s jealousy led shad to fall apart.
Once Upon a time
His name was “The wander”
Kulzak, A aimless rouge
And if you ever needed him, he was sure to show.
Tell the story, of the six divine
Who were once so well known
Mistakes were erased and kept hidden
One was lost to history as a villain
The others overshadow by the light
But, once upon a time....

Since I’m writing a prequel to As The Bells Toll, it made me realize that it’d probably make sense to actually show yall where, on the maps, my version of the DWs are each from. Because the words “southerners” “khasian” “scalesians” and “ northerners” Actually Don’t Tell You Anything.
Sooooooo here
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Where Each Was Born:
Irene - a village known to her as Windyr, evolved into Scaleswind
Shad - a neighboring village called Kalnyr, no longer exists
Esmound - O’Khasis
Enki - An island chain known to him as Vanrfjörd, later renamed after him
Kulzak - Port Raiya, an island-town in the Gold Sea
Menphia - a farming town in the Corsan (Tu’lian) countryside, named Cortézara
Where They Met:
Esmound and Kulzak met, for the first time, in Provencia
Irene and Shad met in a village there-abouts of where the Scalesian Guard Academy is, now
The two of them then met Esmound in O’Khasis
Those three met Menphia and Enki in Vasilyr
And finally, all five of them met Kulzak again in Taravan

Kulzak the Wanderer
The patron divinity of wanderlust and exploration, he is honored almost exclusively by travels regardless of profession. During his life, he acted as a guide to the lost, both living and dead. Its relic gave him an impeccable sense of direction and connection with the Earth itself; it was impossible for him to be lost, and many people believed he may have been able to teleport due to how frequently it seemed to simply appear. Despite its helpful nature he tended to be aloof and unpredictable, preferring to hide in the woods with all the animals. Its symbol was often sewn onto bags and etched into carts and boats, a ritualistic prayer for it to guide the wherever the destination may be. His nomadic lifestyle allowed for very few relations and as such very few bloodlines, even fewer surviving to modern day. No one knows where his relic lies.
