I was remembering the way Akashi reacted to Momoi's cooking in both the Replace Plus chapters and in the 3rd fandisc, and it really made me wonder what horrors he has experienced either seeing or eating Momoi's creations in Teiko. “Bakagami!”

The sudden yelling startled Y/n awake. She jerked upright, eyes wide and heart pounding until she processed her surroundings. Wiping the string of drool from the corner of her mouth, she yawned and slid out of bed.

Her feet stuck to the bare floor of her room, and she stumbled over a stray t-shirt as she made her way to the door.

“Shut up!” She yelled, throwing her door open and looking out into the living room.

It took a second for her eyes to adjust to the bright lights, but when they did she was greeted with nine baffled faces and a girl in the middle of strangling her brother. She blinked at them slowly for a moment before stepping out of her room and leveling Taiga with a glare.

“Look, I’m glad you have friends but-”

“What’s going on ?” Alex’s tired voice asked as she stepped out of Taiga’s room.

Taiga pulled himself from the girl's grasp and stormed over to the two women.

“Put some pants on!” The Kagami siblings yelled, pushing Alex back towards Taiga’s room.

As soon as Alex was gone, Y/n turned back to her brother and grabbed him by the ear. She pinched and tugged at his earlobe making he yelp and bend down closer to her level as he begged her to let go. Instead of letting go, though, she dragged him out to the living room and took a seat at one of the bar stools.

With how he’d been bent, as soon as Y/n let go, Taiga tumbled to the floor.

“Ow…” he grumbled before sitting up on his knees and turning to Y/n with a scowl. “Why’d you do that?!”

“Why are you being so noisy?” She asked, tone level and face stern.

Everyone else in the room felt a chill run down their spine.

“It wasn’t my fault! If anything-”

“Your guests, your fault!”

“Um, actually-” Y/n shrieked, accidentally shifting too far to one side and falling off the bar stool onto Taiga’s lap. “Sorry.”

“When the hell did you get there?!”

“I’ve been here the whole time,” Kuroko said, taking a sip of the water he’d been pouring. “And, the noise wasn’t Kagami’s fault, coach just saw a pack of cigarettes and thought they were Kagami’s, since he said he lives alone.”

“I do live alone,” Taiga huffed before looking from his sister to Alex who had just entered the living room. “So why are you two here?!”

Y/n smacked him upside the head.

“Keep it down, would you?”

“Aw,” Alex sighed, picking up the pack of cigarettes from the dresser, “Y/n, don’t you know smoking’s bad for you?”

“So is kissing everything that moves.”

“Hey! You know I only kiss women and children.”

“Look, I’ll stop smoking when you stop kissing everything that moves.”

“Hey,” Taiga pushed Y/n off of him, “let’s just all take a seat.”

“Fine by me, Alex? Can you bring me a beer?”

Alex made her way into the kitchen and came back with two cans of beer. She handed one to the older Kagami before popping the other one open for herself.

“Since when is there beer in this house?!”

“Since I bought some today?”

The rest of the Serin team awkwardly settled around the table.

“So, you guys are Taiga’s teammates? I’m Alexandra Garcia, nice to meet you!”

A kid who had a strange cat-like appearance was the first to speak up.

“Um, so, why do you…” his english was broken and uncertain, making Y/n stifle a laugh.

“You guys don’t speak much English, do you?” Alex asked, only to receive hesitant nos as people tried to figure out what she said. “Well, Japanese is fine then. I majored in it in college, and these two,” she flung an arm around Y/n and pressed the woman against her chest, “taught me some more.”

Y/n yelped, trying to keep her drink upright.

“Would you two please tell me why you’re here?”

“I had to meet with a client nearby,” Y/n shrugged, “and I didn’t want to catch the train home.”

“And I didn’t want to get a hotel.”

Taiga dropped his head into his hands and sighed.

“Client?” Riko asked.

“I’m a lawyer,” Y/n said as she took a sip of her beer.

“You don’t- ow!” Kogane was stopped by Hyuga hitting him on the back.

“It’s fine,” Y/n laughed. “I get that a lot.” She leaned across the table. “You don’t look much like a basketball player.”

“Hey! Ohhhh.”

Y/n got up from the table and grabbed a cigarette from the pack that Riko had found earlier. She waved at the guests.

“Well, get home safe,” she said before stepping out onto the balcony.

As soon as the door closed, she opened it back up and reached inside.

“Forgot my lighter,” she mumbled, then closed the door behind her.

“So cool,” the team murmured.

"Omi-Omi…" Atsumu whines as he leans against Sakusa's back in the locker room, a pout on his face as their teammates choose to ignore them.

"Yes, Miya." Sakusa sighs, already knowing what his omega wants just by his scent.

Blueberry muffins are starting to make an appearance.

"Give." Atsumu huffs, tugging at the back of Sakusa's sweat-soaked practice shirt and confirming the spiker's suspicion.

How he could have been the most infuriatingly cocky asshole on the court just a few minutes ago only to now be a whiny baby, Sakusa will never understand, but it's like this every pre-heat. At least he can maintain professionalism.

"You know I wear scent patches during practice." The alpha sighs even as he takes the shirt off anyway. "It's not going to have the scent you're after."

Atsumu snatches the shirt anyway, his omega insisting on checking for himself before there's another whimper. "Do ya have ta wear those, Omi-Omi?"

"Per the rules, yes." Sakusa sighs. "Unless I'm scenting items for my pack or omega, patches have to stay on. I wasn't aware you were in preheat yet so I'll have a shirt for you tomorrow."

"Wanted one now." Atsumu mumbles, holding out the shirt for Sakusa to take back.

Sakusa sighs, glancing to the others for help, but is being thoroughly ignored, the rest having already paid the tax. Why he was always the last informed, he will never understand.

Looking back at Atsumu reveals him to still be pouting as he changes and it makes Sakusa sigh again.

He has mere minutes to think of a solution before he has to comfort a whining omega all night.

Option one is the scent gland on his inner thighs. He usually opts for scent-blocking boxers so he doesn't have to deal with patches there so his boxers are an option, but the thought makes his skin crawl.

Option two is accompanying the omega to his nest tonight to scent it personally, but he doesn't know if he could handle it if Atsumu doesn't think they're far enough in their relationship for that, plus other scents in his omega's nest, pack or not, will probably annoy him and his alpha.

Option three is dealing with a pouty omega and making him wait for tomorrow's shirt. He hates that option as much as his alpha does.

He could always ask about option two, but-

"Why not just have Omi spend the night to scent your nest himself?" Hinata asks, revealing that they weren't being as ignored as Sakusa had thought, and thank god for the nosey omega.

Sakusa raises a curious eyebrow as he looks at Atsumu out of the corner of his eye and watches the omega's entire face turn red.

"I- um- I mean I don't wanna be botherin' him." Atsumu mumbles, picking at the towel he was about to take to the shower as he avoids looking at Sakusa.

Well, that won't do.

"I'm supposed to heat share with you anyway. Coming over early really won't be a problem." Sakusa shrugs, grabbing his own towel and shower bag to get the sweat off of him.

He sees Atsumu whip his head to look at him with excited eyes and if this wasn't the norm every time, Sakusa would almost be concerned by the mood swings the omega goes through.

"Really, Omi-Omi? The other scents an' stuff won't bother ya?" Atsumu asks hopefully.

Sakusa can't hide the face he makes but knows Atsumu appreciates honesty more. "Bokuto's might irritate me a bit with the outdoors scent, but one night won't kill me." He decides, not even apologizing at this point, knowing Bokuto finally understands he doesn't say it with the intention of offending him.

Atsumu frowns, hating to make Sakusa uncomfortable in any way, but finally nods. "Please?"

Sakusa nods, finally closing his locker in front of him. "Want me to take a jog first or is post-shower fine?"

Atsumu grins, a small smirk trying to accompany his joy and making Sakusa relax as Atsumu returns to his normal annoyingness. "Aw, Omi-Omi's willin' ta get sweaty fer little old me. Ya spoil me, ya know?"

"Trust me, I'm aware." Sakusa huffs, raising an eyebrow in empty warning. "Yes or no?"

"Please?" Atsumu smiles fondly. "Ya don't have ta be gross or anythin', just enough to get yer scent out from behind yer body wash."

"Understood." Sakusa sighs before nudging Atsumu to the showers. "Now go get cleaned up. You stink."

"Omi-Omi!" Atsumu fake whines despite his laugh and compliance. "Thank ya."

"Mhm." Sakusa hums, watching him round the corner before deflating in relief and glancing at Hinata. "Thank you."

"You looked like you were going to die trying to process an emotion." Hinata snickers, snatching the alpha's box of scent patches before he can reapply them on autopilot. "Anytime though. Just let me know."

Sakusa grimaces but doesn't try to defend himself, knowing he can't. "I want those back after tomorrow."

"They'll be on the top shelf," Hinata promises, standing on the bench to put them where he can't accidentally grab them.

"Thanks." Sakusa sighs before going to follow his mate to the shower. It didn't matter that he was asked to get sweaty again later, he was getting the current round of sweat off if killed him.

"So, what do you want me to do?" Sakusa asks, having just gotten back from his quick jog which was really just to the conbini for dinner and back. Based on the uncomfortable interaction with the cashier, it had been enough.

"Cuddling an' ya spendin' the night should be enough." Atsumu shrugs, already letting his scent out and nearly clinging to the alpha once he's inside. "Ya smell good."

"Netflix or Crunchyroll then?" Sakusa doesn't even bother trying to get some space. "And can I at least get the sweat off? I won't do anything to disrupt my actual scent."

Atsumu pouts a little but nods. "Shower's already cleaned."

Sakusa sighs in relief, turning his head to kiss his omega's nose and get a happy giggle. "Thank you."

"Mhmm." Atsumu hums, finally pulling away. "I'll go set up Crunchyroll. We can finish that basketball anime."

Sakusa just nods, handing the food off to the setter before ducking into the bathroom to get himself cleaned off. He makes quick work of it, genuinely just wanting to get the feeling of sweat off of him before he's padding back out in a T-shirt that he's pretty sure he stole from Atsumu during his last rut and a pair of boxers that he's sure will be stolen.

"’Tsumu?" He calls, assuming the omega will be in his nest but wanting to check.

"In here, Omi-kun!" Atsumu calls from the bedroom, confirming Sakusa's suspicions. "All good?" He asks as Sakusa stands in the doorway, finishing drying his curls.

"Yeah, just need something out of my bad for my hai-" Sakusa blinks as he catches the tub that Atsumu tosses to him and realizes it’s the product he was going to grab. "Thanks."

"Yup." Atsumu grins, getting comfy against a mound of pillows. "Now hurry up. I want cuddles."

Sakusa smirks, shaking his head at the omega but returning to the bathroom to do as he's told before returning and pulling Atsumu into his arms once he gets comfortable in the nest. "Better?"

"Much." Atsumu hums, already purring as melts against his alpha. "Stop holdin' yer scent in though. That's why yer here after all."

Sakusa raises an amused eyebrow as he lets oranges and fresh linen fill the space around them. "And here I thought you just enjoyed my presence."

"Eh, the attitude definitely leaves somethin' ta be desired, but yer pretty ta look at for sure," Atsumu smirks before whining when Sakusa nips his cheek in retaliation. "Omiiii!"

"Brat." Sakusa huffs with a smirk of his own as he grabs the remote. "Ready to watch Kagami probably kick Aomine's ass."

"Oh, definitely." Atsumu grins, readjusting to see the TV now and purring when long fingers start brushing through his hair. "He needs his ego destroyed a bit."

"Projecting much?" Sakusa snorts, his smirk growing when Atsumu tries to nip at him now, but just gets pulled into a gentle kiss that makes the omega melt. "Hmm, you're right. That is unfair. You're much easier to tame."

"Shut up." Atsumu huffs despite his sappy grin. "You love it."

"Very much, yes," Sakusa admits, the omega's own scent loosening his lips as he pulls the setter up for another light kiss.

He allows himself his own sappy smile as he hears his omega start purring, giving him a few more light kisses before settling into just cuddling and bickering as the animated game picks up speed. By the time they start getting tired and switch over to something they can afford to fall asleep to, Atsumu's nest is thoroughly covered in the alpha's scent and both have happy, content smiles on their faces as they fall asleep tangled in each other's arms.

If Sakusa is more agreeable the next day, nobody chooses to mention it.

okay so. piece of media i want you to consume because i need to talk about it is...

kuroko's basketball!!! (or kuroko no basket)

it's a basketball anime (duh).

basically, there were this super good team in this one middle school that were called the generation of miracles. they had a phantom six member named kuroko. they all seperated in high school and kuroko joined this high school where he meets kagami. now, kagami and kuroko's goal is to beat the miragen and become the best basketball high school team.

and my points for watching it

the dub is fucking funny. that's it. the dub is funny as hell. in fact, the show itself is funny.

2. the animation is pretty good. it's solid.

3. despite it being a show that isn't action packed, it's still really hype. i have never been so hyped for a show then watching these japanese high schoolers play basketball.

4. the themes and messages. yeah, that's right, the silly basketball anime has a message. it's the rebuilding your friendships through the help of the influence of other people and beating their asses. it's great and wonderful.

5. since you like pjo i know you also like fucked up teenagers. well guess what, there are fucked up teens in this show!! how are they fucked up? because middle school. also there are no responsible adults in this show.

6. unreliable narrator for the win!!! kuroko has a messed up view of his middle school experience which is fair because it sucked shit!! but it's so clear that the mc is a human because of the way he views these experiences.

7. emphasis on friendship. i know you like toa. this shit is frienship galore. rebuilding your friendships, gaining new friends. realzing that despite being rivals you can still be friends.

8. character arcs!! moving on from the super shitty fucked up middle school experience (seriously, teiko middle school was kinda fucked up). overcoming egos!! TEAMWORK!!

9. it does the light and shadow theme. you'll see.

and yeah. i realize this is insane. so is this show. there are like superpowered children in this show but they are not superpowers. it's weird. but also it's great.

WHO DOESNT LOVE FUCKED UP TEENAGERS, UNRELIABLE NARRATORS, AND CHARACTER ARCS??!! :D
