Kuroshitsuji Underappreciated Characters Week: Event Rules

Hi, all!

Our underappreciated characters week will be held September 7-14, 2020. Based on the results from our poll, the lineup is as follows:

September 7: Prince Soma

September 8: The Midfords

September 9: Agni

September 10: Ran Mao

September 11: Wolfram

September 12: Lau

September 13: The Weston boys

And don’t worry if your fave didn’t make the cut! We’re designating September 14th as a "miscellaneous” day, during which you can make content for any minor character of your choosing.

Rules

1. No fetishization, incest, pedophilia, transphobia, sexualization of minors, etc. will be tolerated.

2. We will accept both SFW and (moderately) NSFW works. However, since the focus of this event is spreading positivity related to the characters, please refrain from graphic violence, rape/noncon elements, etc. and tag any NSFW themes appropriately.

3. Shipping and gen works will both be accepted, including ships involving characters from different days.

4. Any and all forms of media may be used, including but not limited to fic, art, moodboards, AMVs, manga colorings/edits, anime gifs, etc. However, please give credit to the mangaka if manga/doujinshi panels are used.

5. You do NOT have to do something for every day in order to participate. Feel free to make something for as many or few days as you like!

6. Seb*ciel shippers, mangrellers, and their associates are not welcome. We want this event to be a safe space for all participants, and allowing these sectors of the fandom to take part would not be conducive to that goal.

7. Please include “kuroshitsuji underappreciated characters week” in the tag for all fanworks so that the hosts can locate and reblog your creations!

Day 1: Soma

Birds chirp some outside as 18 year old Soma Asman Kadar turned over in his covers of the small bedroom apartment, his rare eyes flickering open like a pair of golden light bulbs as he feels the warm late summer sun light creep through the milky cream white curtains and dance across his skin softly. His orbs stare ahead to try and focus with each item within the slightly messy room before it fixes onto the neon red lights that the small black box of his clock reads 8 : 15 A.M. which alone his stomach to churn like butter and his eyes to widen.

Soma - “Fuck!” He cried out a swore as he threw the blankets up from the bed and hurries to the laundry basket near his door to dig through for somewhat cleaner clothes with the pile of dirty or just a mess of clothes mixed in, running out of time he settled for a white tank top with a loose yellow and blue and purple abstract pattern 90′s style pullover hoodie and some cargo baggie pants. He knew he didn’t have much time to eat a meal or do much for his hair and teeth - which let’s just face it even he knows he doesn’t feel like doing it often - but with a quick grab of his phone and ear plugs along with his bag, wallet, sandals, and a hair tie to tie his shoulder long dark stunning hair up in a bun during his rush he left and locked his apartment’s door before running down the hall to the building’s elevator which he just hopes to hurry...

INT. City’s subway, 8 : 20 A.M.; A busy Tuesday

Soma texted on his phone as his ear plugs attached to it plays some Fall Out Boy in the crowded small tube like train full of humans and the smell of everyone’s mood and sweat. He looked up at the feeling of eyes on him and sees a small Asian boy staring at him.

Soma - “Hello” He said with a soft smile towards the boy, who just kept staring at him in some awe.

Just then, his phone buzzed within his palms:

Hey you’re on your way?

Yea I’m almost there

Good cause honestly Eddie’s getting pretty annoying >:P

Soma chuckled some under his breath some the message from his good friend/music loving pal Cheslock. That’s when something caught his ear some...

Woman - “Leave me alone... Pl-Please...” A woman in her late teens early 20′s tried to move away from some creeps on in the subway who were crowding around her like she’s a fresh meal from a grill.

Man 1 - “Awwee come on toots, why you walkin’ away from us in that cute skirt of your’s?” Soma growled under his breath when he sees the leader of the rude men stop the girl from moving away, more when it seems nobody was doing anything to help stop this.

Back home he was used to be told women were never going to be seen as equals and if he were to ever see something bad about a woman he should turn away and never look back. “What a cruel thing to believe..”. He thought as he stared at the scene, remembering when he was younger and he saw a man hit a woman so badly her face seemed broken but his father told him not to stare nor care about her for she - as his father quoted - “must’ve done something to deserve a man’s rage”.

With a single breath out Soma place his ear plugs and phone into his bag and set it beside the small boy before making his way to the small crowd with like with the girl being harassed no one coming to stop him.

He grabbed a hold of the first man’s shoulder which earned his attention.

Soma: “You should leave her alone if you know what’s good for you!” He spoke bravely as he stands with the same emotion, never once backing down even when the guy snarled and reeled his fist back...

EXT: Recording Studio Office of the school campus, 8 : 28 A.M.

Soma knocked on the white door the enters the small one story building in silence, and after a few minutes Edward opened it.

Edward - “Where have you been? You’re late-Oh My Gosh! What happened to you?!” He shrieked the last parts as he stares at the bleeding swollen bottom lip and a yellowish weird colored black eye forming around his left eye, his dark hair now a moppy mess that seems to have been pulled many times.

After a few seconds of silence Soma finally answered:

Soma: “I did a good thing” With that stated out into the open he walked in pass the surprised spiky haired blonde and smiled through the questions and worried exclaims from his peers as he sits on the deep purple sofa with a rough yet nice relaxed sigh like the goof he always is and always will be

Sure his face hurts like a son of a bitch but in the end he scared the men off and managed to help that women safely with no issues with her, that’s all that seemed to matter in his world of a bubble around his head

Maybe a bit early here or on time but this is Day 1 of Underappreciated Black Butler/Kuroshitsuji Characters Week and it’s Soma!!! Soma is best son boy who I want to hug with all the other characters on the week’s days. Sadly though I don’t think I’d be able to do the 8th and 10th since as of recently in the fandom and manga(mostly there) those characters started getting some more attention and I’m really drawing a blank on their fics and I’m not too good at drawing Ran Mao despite that she is my goddess... But I DO have something planned for Wolfram(11th), Lau(12th), and whenever I get my answer from @grelleswife The Weston Boys(13th). But if you guys have ideas for any of those days or if you want mt to do the two days I won’t be able to do, let me know how and why!

Violet is a gifted artist, but few suspect that his talents verge on the supernatural.

I’m slowly but surely getting my life together and finishing the rest of my pieces for the underappreciated characters week. For the Weston boys day, I decided to focus on Violet (because he’s one of my faves) and explore my headcanon that he might have a touch of psychic power.
