♡Part one♡

It had been three moths since that night with Dean, it had played over and over again in your mind when you went to sleep every night.

You swore you could feel his lips on yours, or the sounds he made when he was moving in and out of your body.

You hated it so much, you hated him. With his stupid eyes his pink lips you hated him.

But you took all of that rage out on, the monsters you’d hunt. Shooting them stabbing them. Anything you could think of.

You had come back from a bad werewolf hunt with Bobby, one of the wolfs clawed your abdomen trying to save Bobby.

So here you were nursing a bottle of whiskey as the old man stitched you up.

Oh yea and you forgot to mention you kind picked up a drinking habit over the last few months.

“Do you have a deal death with or something?” The old man asks as he threads your skink back together.

“No.” You hiss as he pulls the thread in and out of you.

“You’re not a very good lair.” He says grabbing the scissors to cut the string.

You raise your brow, “you aren’t a very good nurse either.” You say standing up. You grab stomach with a groan as you walk to the kitchen.

Bobby watches you struggle to walk away. He begins to clean the blood off his hands with a towel.

Bobby never bought it up because it was never any of his business. But. He cared about you a lot. You were like his daughter he’d never had have.

That day when he picked you up from the hotel. There was something wrong. You hadn't said anything to him about it since then. It has been three months and Bobby had grown curious.

Bobby takes a sigh and sits in his chair in front of his desk.

“What happened that I had to drive almost three hours out to pick you up from a motel?”

Bobby saw your body stiffen with the questions, he knew he had struck a nerve.

You grown and begin to walk up stairs, not wanting to answer his questions, “Good night Bobby.” You groan.

Bobby rolls his eyes “damn kid.”

This had been the worst sleep of your life by far. You couldn’t sleep you were up all night tossing and turning. You groan as you flick the covers off of your body.

You look over at the time on your alarm clock, it was almost 12 in the afternoon.

You groan and begin to rummage through your pile of clean clothes you had just washed.

“Please tell me you have coffee on and some painkillers.” You groan grabbing your stomach as you walk down the stairs

“I really could use some.” You say rubbing your eyes.

When Bobby didn’t say anything you remove your hands away from your eyes. And when you opened them you did not expect to see someone you haven’t seen in three months.

“Dean?” Your voice was barely above a whisper. You were angry.

You turn to the old man who was sitting across from him, “What the hell is he doing here?” You question, not looking over in Deans' direction.

“He’s here because he got a weird call, someone pretending to be Sam.” He says “just wanted to know if we got the call that’s all.”

You roll your eyes and clench your stomach, you don’t even look his way, he had left you after sharing an intimate moment, he left you vulnerable.

You scoff and walk over to the coffee pot, you poor yourself a cup, Bobby looks between you and Dean.

Dean had his eyes glued to your back, waiting for you to turn around and look at him. But you didn’t. He watched as you grab the painkillers from the top cabinet with a groan.

“I’ll be upstairs.” You mumble.

Bobby nods as he watches you carefully disappear upstairs.

“Are you gonna talk about it?” Bobby questions.

Dean huffs and leans back “nothing to talk about, just came here to see if you got that call that's all.”

Bobby let’s out a chuckle. “You came here to see if she was here.”

Bobby states.

Dean rolls his eyes. “No i didn’t,” Dean argues.

“Bullshit, something happened between you too.” Bobby says looking at the green eyed man.

Dean nods his head “it did but it was a mistake, we both were missing Sam.” Dean rubs a hand down his face.

Bobby cuts Dean off “Does she know that?” Bobby questions. “That girl has had a death wish for three months. I made her stop hunting, I don't know if you noticed, she has a pretty bad injury."

“Whatever you did you need too clear it up.” Bobby says.

Dean stands up from his chair “There’s nothing to clear cause nothing happened, it didn’t mean anything, not to me anyway.” Dean grabs his jacket.

Before Dean reached the front door he saw you at the bottom of the stairs, with your bloodied bandages that you had just switched out with new ones. In your hands

He didn’t miss the way the tears in your eyes welded up. He give you a small smile the exits the house,

“How much did you hear.”

You swallow hard, “Enough” you walk into the kitchen and shove the bandages in the trash. And once again you had disappeared up the stairs.

It has been three days since Dean had come. Bobby wasn't home, he hasn’t been home for a few days he was cleaning up a ghoul hunt in Ohio. You were left alone reading lore books. About monsters.

Your wound on your abdomen, still hurt like hell, you felt like it was keeping you from hunting and you hated it.

You were bought out of your thoughts when there was a frantic knock at the door, you carefully get up from your spot and make your way to the front door.

“Who is it” you say.

“Y/n? It’s Sam open the door.”

You raise your eyebrows.

“Thats impossible you’re in hell.”

You hear a loud sigh coming from the door, you watch as the bottom lock jiggles and then the door opens, it opens up enough to see the tall hunter standing in the door way.

“Sam?”

He rolls his eyes and squeezes past you, “That’s what I’ve been trying to tell everybody.” He huffs closing the door behind him

“How.” You watch as the tall man makes his way through the house as if he was looking for someone? “Where’s Bobby?”

“Ghoul hunt.” You say watching him,

“Dean? Did he go with Bobby?”

You shake your head ‘no”

“I haven’t talked to him not really, not since-“

Sam nods at your words

“How did you-“ you point

Sam shrugs “I don’t know.” He chuckles. Sam stops and looks at you. “Give me your phone.” He says

You raise your eyebrows in confusion, reaching into your back pocket you fish out your phone, handing it to the tall man.

Sam smiles he clicks the screen a few times.

You sigh and walk past him, into the kitchen.

You listen as Sam mumbles a quick 'bye' into the phone.

Sam walks back to you handing you your phone, "Who'd you call?" You hum tucking your phone back into your pocket.

You had already knew the answer to that question. You didn’t even know why you asked.

Sam reaches beside you and opens the fridge, he reaches in and grabs two beers.

"Dean." He says handing you the bottle.

You don't say anything expect, you pop the top off and throw it into the sink. Sam sighs as he watches you knock back the beer in a few sips.

"Did something happen between you guys, when i called he thought it was you." Sam says.

You set the empty bottle down. "It did, but according to him, it didn't mean anything." You state. You take a shaky breath, "He left me, without saying goodbye Sam. I don't even know where he's been for the last three months."

Sam notices a tear slide down your cheek, "He's been playing house, with Lisa. Seems like when shit hits the fan he keeps going back to her."

"What?" Your voice was shaky. You don't remember anyone in Dean's life named Lisa. But then you rack through your brain.

"The dark-haired lady? With that kid named Ben?"

Sam nods.

You remembered them both, You three were working on a case when Dean had knocked at the door, and she had answered, it was her son's birthday.

"He was in love with her?" You question. Sam nods. "I guess he still is."

You sigh, you wondered if you were Dean's second option.

'I'm going to- take a nap." You say looking down at your watch.

Sam nods and rubs the small of your back,

Walking into the living room, you had grabbed a blanket that was. Draped over the back of an empty chair, you always liked sleeping on the cot Bobby had by the window, it was peaceful hearing the birds chirping, pulling the blanket up you quickly fall asleep.

it had felt like you were sleeping forever but that was until you felt someone shaking you.

Opening your eyes you see Sam, "Hey.” he says, “Bobby called, and told me you needed your bandages switched out."

You yawn and rub your eyes. Sam helps you sit up. You lift up your shirt with a wince.

He grabs the bandages that had been on Bobby's desk.

Sam pulls a chair up.

You had been hardly awake for that long when you heard the side door open. "Hey." Sam says not even looking in that direction, he had been placing the new bandages on you.

You knew who it was, you had been hoping. That he wouldn't had come tonight you didn't want to have to face him.

You watch and he walks in the room where you and Sam where, his eyes glued on you, he had a fresh beer in his hand.

Sam pats your leg motioning you pull down your shirt. "Thanks." You mumble. Sam smiles at you, he walks into the kitchen past Dean to wash his hands.

You pull the blanket back over your body.

Dean watches you stare out the window, it had remined him of that night- before he left.

He sits in the chair that Sam was just in. His beer resting between his legs. "Please go." You sniffle not wanting to look at him.

When Dean didn’t listen you turn to look at him, your breathing was harsh. You were mad.

The anger that you had built up for the past few months was just begging to come out.

“So Lisa huh?”

Dean opens and closes his mouth.

“Did you decide to go be with her before or after you fucked me!” You spat, throwing the blanket off your body you sit on the edge of the bed.

Your chest heaving up and down.

When Dean didn’t say anything you continue. “You left me Dean, you didn’t call you didn’t text, for all I could’ve know you could’ve died. But no you were playing house with some whore.” You spat

Dean licks his lips, “don’t talk about her like that.” He grumbles

You roll your eye, I’ll talk about her however I goddamn please.”

You and Dean stare at each other.

“Was it a mistake Dean?” You question.

Dean blinks a few times. He had forgotten you heard his and Bobby’s conversation.

Dean shakes his head, he had convinced himself it was a mistake the day he left you and went to Lisa.

But he knew deep down it wasn’t. If it was he wouldn’t have been the first one to kiss you.

“No, I thought about you everyday for three months when I left.” Dean was telling the truth weather or jot you decided to believe it or not.

He dreamed about you daily. He could still smell your perfume. He could hear you little moans. When he hit that sweet spot inside of you.

He didn’t know why he left he was scared.

Scared that maybe you would’ve regretted it too.

But it turns out, you were far from thinking that.

You scoff, “Bullshit.” You spat. “I was your second option Dean. You got your fix and left me. I’m nothing to you, and I never will be.”

Tears stream down your face, Wiping your hands doen your face you get up from your spot on the cot. “You Sam and Bobby don’t need me,” you say grabbing your jacket. You reach into on of the draws that Bobby have in the kitchen, it had sets of car keys in it.

You take a random one and walk out the door.

Dean chases after you.

“Y/n stop!” Dean shouts.

You had stopped in your tracks, you turn around to face Dean.

“I’m leaving Dean You can’t stop me.” You say.

You hit the car alarm on the key fob and one of the cars that were sitting in the lot begin to light up. Turning the alarm off you hop into the car.

Dean watches as you pull away in the car.

Something in the back of Dean’s mind told him to stop you. He wanted just to talk it over with you maybe. Just maybe it could have a different outcome.

It was just one big misunderstanding.

He watches as you pull out of the driveway.

Your car begins to move slowly. It was like you wanted to come back. But you kept driving.

Until. Another car coming from the opposite direction, came speeding down.

You tried to get out of the way but it was too late.

Dean watches as the car rams into yours with full speed.

“Y/n!” Dean shouts as he begins to run.

Dean ran, it felt like forever. When he reached the car you were in he sees your body hunched over. There was blood all over you face it was coming out of your ears and nose.

The wound on your stomach was open, there was so much blood, Dean had seen nothing like it.

This was not happening hew knew he should’ve stopped you. He should’ve stopped you.

He scoops your body up in his arms. He looks down at your face, your eyes begin to flutter open.

“I’m sorry-“ was all you say before it all went black.

“I’m gonna get you help sweetheart, you ain’t leaving me.” Dean says putting you in the back of the impala.

But Dean sees your eyes closed.

He was not going to let you die, not in his watch.

Cautionary Tale on Carbon Monoxide

So, for the last 2 weeks or so my smoke alarm/carbon monoxide alarm has been beeping sporadically. I paid it no mind because there was no smoke, nothing was burning and I did not think it could be anything else. I assumed the alarm or batteries were going bad because they had been here forever ago.

So, we changed the batteries and bought a new alarm, and installed them through the house a week ago. The beeping stopped. However, a few days ago while I was cooking the beeping came back. Again, no smoke in the home and nothing was burning. We are searching trying to figure out why it keeps going off.

I constantly have my essential oil diffuser plugged in and running so some searches came back saying certain essential oils might set off the alarm if strong enough and my 16-year-old has been fear rubbing herself with Citronella essential oils(repellent for mosquitoes) because whenever the door opened these new breed mosquitos fly in and she is terrified if her face and body looking like a swollen pepperoni pizza🙄😂. (The concerns of a 16-year-old who was looking out for her upcoming first day of school face card status lmao)

Finally, after some YT videos and Google searches, we began to suspect it was beeping because of carbon monoxide. So we hurry and get out of the house, food still on the stove half cooked, and wait for the gas/electric company to come to investigate and fix the problem.

When the tech comes he walks inside the house and instantly the machine he carried to check the PPM set off a reading of 41. This level is highly dangerous and prolonged exposure can result in health risks and possibly death.😳

He continued to walk through the house and found pockets in the house where the PPM was 38-41(still dangerous). He goes into the kitchen and instantly says, I see your problem. He goes to the stove and points to my favorite, can't live without have used almost every time I cook 11" Copper Chef casserole pot and says this is the culprit.

Apparently, the size of the pot covers my entire burner so there is no ventilation happening under the pot which is bad. He then points to another favorite pot on the back burner and says this one is also bad because of the size of the pot. He turned on the fire under the Copper Chef pot and instantly his machine went up to 144 PPM😳.

I was appalled. He asked about how we all were feeling and asked who the cook in the house was and of course it was me✋🏽. I felt fine. I usually always have headaches and feel tired, he said I could be suffering from long-term carbon monoxide exposure and should go to the hospital to be sure.

To make this longer story just plain ol' long, I say all of this to caution you guys on pot sizes for your gas stove burners and to say it could be the things/ways you least expect.

Tips from the gas/electric company tech

-Make sure your pot is not bigger/wider than your burner flames.

-Turn on your overhead vent or open your kitchen windows when cooking for either or both of these: 1) If your pots are bigger than the burner flames or 2) To take an extra level of safety.

-If you are using bigger pots try to open closet doors throughout your home because the carbon monoxide can creep into the closed closet and remain there for hours.

-In your gas using ovens do not have any liners or protectors(the ones you put down to prevent spills or drips as you bake) on the bottom of the oven if they come anywhere near the two ventilation slits in the oven(where the flames/heat rises).

-If you have done all of the above and constantly feel lightheaded, dizzy, persistent headaches, fatigue, sleepiness, be safe and just get it checked out in the ER or Urgent Care.

Be safe out there y'all. Carbon Monoxide is known as a silent killer.

• No because Scorpio suns with Capricorn moons are hilarious, very knowledgeable and very honest people!🤝

• Sagittarius suns with Pisces moons and Scorpio mercury/Sag venus are hilarious people! Always trying to make their peers laugh by telling funny jokes, hilariously imitating people or trying to tickle somebody and they come up with the funniest ideas! Also very sweet, emotionally intuitive and tend to be spoiled!!

• They can also be selfish and petty when underdeveloped and they were the “My way or the high way.” type kids.

• Pisces suns with Sagittarius risings are just so sexy?😩 Like not just personality wise but physically! And their facial bone structure? The noticeable high cheekbones with the slightly hollowed cheeks and very gorgeous smiles?? Yea that’s hot asf!!!🥵

• Libra suns with Capricorn moons and Taurus mars are such foodies, who cook so well and can eat a lot but don’t gain weight easily! Also very playful but are no bullshit type people as they grow older. And what’s with the silence treatment thing?😭

• Aries placements are hot, ambitious and have an innocent glow to them when they lighten up about the things they’re very passionate about!!❤️‍🔥

• Taurus risings are so freaking beautiful!!🥺 Literally mesmerizing without trying. ✋🏽

• Leo suns with Aquarius moons and Virgo risings are so playful and very down to earth yet also give crackhead vibes!!😂💞

• Water risings look so much like their mothers!! Especially Cancer and Scorpio! I’ve notice their rising tends to be their mother’s sun sign or in their mother’s big 6! E.g. Prince was a Scorpio rising and his mother was a Scorpio sun and he looks just like her!! And those babydoll/Bambi eyes they tend to have are such a weakness!😩💜

• Sun-Pluto people especially the ones with harsh aspects, are you still having an internal never ending conflict between emotions and ego? Do people always ask you why you look mad/sad yet you’re not? Have you learned to express your emotions outwardly more better?🤠

• Gemini suns with Virgo moons and Cancer mercuries are so friendly and analytical! Literally the types to check up on you often and tell you about their days and the situations they’re in. Also if they think that you think they’re mad at you they’ll literally explain how they weren’t mad at you. Like everything they say is broken down or simplified because they think others might not understand and that’s honestly a very thoughtful thing to do!💜

• They also tend to come up with sweet nicknames for those closest to them!😩💖

• The down side however is they’re prone to depression and being pessimistic but they’re so sweet and caring! My heart goes out to these people<3

• People with the same sun and mercury as you might irk you especially if they have other placements that are opposite or very different from yours!

• Taurus sun Libra moon kids are so shy and tend to go along with everything you suggest!!☺️

My beautiful solitary summer of luxuriating in the depths of my mind is truly over. I have so much to do now I don’t even remember thinking today. Contrary to natural laws I don’t feel real when I don’t have time to think. May Sarton another 12th house moon wrote in one of her early pages in Journal of a Solitude: “I am here alone for the first time in weeks, to take up my ‘real’ life again at last. That is what is strange—[it] not my real life unless there is time alone in which to explore and to discover what is happening or has happened” Raise your hand if you felt that ✋🏽

Fix what's broken

Sana x Dahyun

A/n: I adore saida so much, I remember the saida hug they shared during day 2 of the London soundcheck 😗 💜🤍

Synopsis: Is it too late to come back to one another?

A sprinkle of angst but not as much as the previous two stories I posted (I promise, scout's honour ✋🏽)

Sana is wobbly as she walks down, dressed for the day but with a nuisance of a headache. She's cautious every morning as she makes it to the bottom of the stairs.

As usual, she woke up to an empty bed but traces of Dahyun's perfume lingered within the room. If Sana focuses, she can pick up the faint scent of hot chocolate; one of her favourites.

The final step Sana notices in Dahyun's routine is how she seems to hesitate right before she leaves. Almost as if she wants to say or do something.

But she doesn't.

Sana lets out a breath she didn't realise she was holding. She understands something isn't right when she feels relieved to be alone at home. Sana knows that home is wherever Dahyun is, but is it still considered home if one feels this uneasy in it?

They had drifted apart, their jobs as idols took a stressful toll on them; too many missed dates and broken promises in an attempt to make it up to one another, from both sides.

It seemed the only time they get is when TWICE has a schedule.

Sana had fallen in love with her for many reasons. Dahyun, who looked at Sana with utter adoration. Who always smiled at her antics and sneaked private kisses. Who listened and did her best to keep her safe. Who held her hand when she feared storms.

But who was going to protect Sana from the storm brewing inside her heart and mind?

Sana almost resented Dahyun, for making it seem easy to just become so distant.

"Sana? Sana!" The voice of their leader snapped her out of her thoughts.

"Huh?"

"You've been staring at the wall for ten minutes. Are you alright? You don't look well."

Honestly, her headache was still there, and she felt like she was burning up. Nevertheless, they all had a job to do.

"I'm fine, just out of breath."

They resumed rehearsal, but Sana only lasted five minutes before she became dizzy and fainted.

Sana woke up back in her room, with a cold towel on her forehead. She turned and saw Dahyun sitting next to the bed, staring at her, almost blankly.

"You should have stayed home if you weren't feeling well."

She scoffed.

"It was only a headache." Dahyun's void tone irked her.

"You could have been seriously hurt! It was a good thing the others were there." Dahyun remembered how she trembled during the call she received informing her of what had happened.

"Do you realise how worried I was when I heard that you passed out?"

Dahyun had finished her first schedule of the morning when she received the call from Jihyo. She almost dropped her phone in shock before running to where Sana was, not caring that she had to cancel the rest of her activities for the day. She carried Sana to the car, not once taking her eyes off her even when she laid her down in their room.

Sana just turned on her side, her back facing Dahyun.

"I didn't want to burden you." There it was, those words were a catalyst, forcing Dahyun to finally open her eyes to the reality they were facing.

Dahyun knew that they were on the verge of heartbreak and every day she told herself that they would talk and work through it. But that day had yet to come.

She knew that if she continued to stay silent, she would lose Sana for good.

Dahyun refused to let that happen.

Sana was startled when she felt a hand slowly guide her to lie on her back. She was further surprised to see Dahyun in tears.

"Dahyun-"

It was a wonder you and Freddy even managed to get together, let alone being able to actually stand each other.

He was boisterous, extroverted, and drew in lots of attention (positive and negative) wherever he went.

You were, natrually, his opposite. Level-headed, introverted, and riddled with anxiety the second confrontation came your way.

But, you know what they say: Opposites attract🤷🏽‍♀️.

Stunned by your attractiveness, reminiscing on all of the times he had seen you in class or around the school, and baffled by how melodic your sweet, quiet voice was to him, he glowed red and was in awe at how you even considered him to be worthy of such a privilege at all; Dating you.

Pfft-! Even more of a shock to him, you asking him out... "YES!" He nearly screamed, which made you jump, but excited and happy nonetheless.

Little did he know, it had taken every single last ounce of courage and determination you had that day just to walk up to him. Shaking and sweating, your heart nearly beating out of your chest as your words trembled once they left your lips.

But none of that mattered now. Er, it did, but only in the best ways, because now he was your boyfriend. And, no matter the differences in personality, he loved you as hard and as much as humanly possible.

Showing you all of his comics and memorabilia is a constant in your relationship. Freddy rambling on and on to you the details of every single item as you took it all in with admiring smiles and laughter. You'd think you'd be used to his touch by now, but with every passing item he wants you to look at goes the brush of your fingertips, and you can't help but get all fluttery and dizzy inside and blushy on the outside each time, to which he casually teases you for.

Walks bring you more of such an experience, though maybe not Freddy's favorite activity outside of superhero form, he disregards that fact simply because he's happy to hold your hand for long periods of time. Enjoys how such a simple act makes your heart swell off the radar, easily letting him know just how much you still love and care for him.

He even tries to tone himself down, knowing how much the attention he sometimes draws in with his loud and silly antics makes you anxious. And though you'd rather your chaotic boyfriend not change himself just to please you, you admit it does ease your nerves knowing you won't have to worry.

Well, of course, sometimes you worry. Like when he comes to you after a run-in with the Breyers, possibly beat up physically and/or emotionally. Either way, your soothing tone and careful touches always brighten his mood. An excuse to give thank you kisses, which certainly leave you more flustered than you could ever imagine possible.

Or when it's you who they bother, Freddy will gladly step in to protect you, telling them off with the most harshest yet amusing things he can think of, no matter the punishment it earns him. If you won't speak up for yourself, in any situation, you can be damn well sure he will with zero hesitancy.

You guys are definitely the "I didn't want pickles..." "Hey, they asked for no pickles!" "Nononono-! It's fine, it's fine...!" couple.

Omgomg, another thing is Freddy literally strives to and prides himself upon bringing out a genuine laugh from you. Not a quiet lil chuckle or one of those mouth covered "haha hehe" type shits, no. I'm talking about that loud, real, witch cackle laugh that I know you have😌. It's literally his mission, always adjusting his humor to yours in any way he can and/or just saying and doing silly, stupid things just to hear it. He thinks it's wonderful and would give anything in the world to hear it over and over again.

And the more calmer moments between you two, consisting of lots of cuddling and movie watching, picnic and park dates, and god forbid you actually know about his superhero alter ego...

Dates in the sky (if you're not afraid of heights) are one thing that cannot be beaten. The serenity of the clouds and the land below, sitting on whatever structure Freddy could find big enough to fit the two of you, just watching it all happen. Everything so tiny, you two so peaceful with the occasional conversation or joke...

Oh!! Listen, just because you're a little shy doesn't mean you're not a little shit, okay? You're often the grand mastermind behind all of Freddy's pranks and ways to get back at Eugene or Billy >:). And man, does he adore it. Which reminds me, being a little more to yourself and all made it harder for you to get used to Freddy's family. Though he brought you around nearly all of the time and showed you off with pride, it was probably a solid week or so that went by before you could actually muster up the confidence to speak to anyone other than Rosa (which was always littered with a million apologies because you were sure you had come off as rude or a bitch for not speaking up right away😭).

But, at the end of the day, they all ended up loving you regardless of your shy nature and adore having you around. You especially got along with Mary, it being nice to have somewhat of an older sister figure, and Pedro, who was about just as quiet as you, but it often left you two sharing different music and hobbies with one another.

You both loving to read, Freddy mainly because he likes to know things and likes expanding his already large brain on all sorts of random knowledge. And you because you love to get lost in the fantasy and imaginative creativity of it all (or else why would you be reading these hdcns, huh🤨). This usually becomes him reading aloud to you or vice versa, you sitting in his lap or his head in yours, hair getting stroked and light kisses being placed anywhere they can reach every now and again.

Freddy loves you no matter what and doesn't care that you're shy/introverted. He's just happy to love and be loved, especially by you of all people, and will do whatever it takes to make sure you're comfortable and happy in general and with him at all times💙✨️.

Heart reactions (ramblings): I knew I was going to love this game. I KNEW I Was Going To Fall In Love With Ezra (again). I knew that in the deepest and darkest spaces inside me, this story would resonate. The cozy and cute art style. The grounded, though tough struggles of our main character. The humor and witty parts that made me crack up. Our deep and loving friendship with Amara. The moments that made me look into my imaginary camera in my dining room alone at dark-thirty, eyes wide and incredulous, trying not to disturb my sleeping family, sometimes crying but mostly smiling and so, so, so happy to have made it to play this game.

This game was made with love and care, and you can tell. You can feel it. And all the side characters that appear on Ezra's route were either a joy or a pain lol but welcomed in my gaming experience just the same. (GRACE AND STEPH I LOVE Y'ALL!!!)

Oh gosh oh gosh oh gosh, and yeah this game was sweet as hell, but I am an adult and I do like to partake in adult things from time to time and what I'm trying to communicate here is that I was there for the sexy scenes....lemme repeat that...I was there for the sex!!! (Love this for all of y'all reading this oh my God 😭😂) Nah but really, the heat + the sweet were present and accounted for and I’m a happy camper LOL!

And the fairytale portion of the story? Cue the sound of my heart breaking because it was so well done. Probably where I shed the most tears, and I was doing so well keeping it together so I could read the words on my screen without obstruction!!

Brain tings (aka the 'review' portion): In recent memory, and by that I mean in the three-ish years I've been actively playing visual novels, I can't name another game that delves into chronic illness and disability centering the main character that’s also in the slice of life romance genre. It's not an experience I can claim, but it is one I have empathy for and believe that reading/seeking out representation of others' experiences is the only way we're gonna get through this life in one piece doing the least amount of harm.

Seriously.

And as someone who deals with from mental illness and will have to deal with it for the rest of her life, it's comforting to be reminded that stories don't have to show this borderline (sometimes over the fence) toxic positivity of dealing with those struggles. Sometimes you feel like shit. Sometimes you push people away. Sometimes you take chances on people and they burn you with the intention to hurt. But sometimes you take chances and they pay off. But you gotta keep going, and if I take anything away from this game, it's that message: Keep. Going.

Retrospective thoughts: I wrote this category out thinking I'd have another concise paragraph in me, but that was a lie. The main thing I wanted to get out was that as someone who discovered she falls on the demisexual/demiromantic spectrum, I've made it my annoying second job to sniff it out in the media I consume. (Spare crumbs?????) And I have a Hunch about a Mr. Ezra Hale. (I related to him more than was healthy is all I want to admit zkfjdhjdhgfjg)

So. Someone was looking out for y'all LOL. But this is a game I will actively replay, so I will be obtaining all the endings and living my best life.

(also part 3, because game dev lives her best life on Twitter as does the rest of the VN community, I will go make some noise on there sometime because she deserves it and I'm nothing if not obnoxious as hell when I want something known)
