Eddie shook his head, overwhelmed with his thoughts.

“Look, I appreciate it Bosko, but I just—I don’t know. This is my kid we’re talking about.”

“I know that, and I know how much you love him. Hell, you’ve sent me ten plus emails when I was watching him for you.”

Eddie looked to where there was a line coming out of the office, his other teammates no doubt having several emergency questions of their own. He turned to Lena, giving his full attention.

“Alright, tell me about this friend of yours.”

Bonded

Lena feels it the instant that Kara Danvers walks into her office, the pull within her soul that she’d heard friends and family talking about in the past.

Andrea had even described it as a breathless sensation, her chest painfully tightening whenever her submissive was too far from her—as though she could not live without Sam in her life.

Lena, though, feels a sudden urge to scold, to tell the young reporter to lose the self-righteous attitude and to stand straight. The tightness in her chest is there, yes, as well as the awkward desire to be around this young woman at all times, but it’s the itching in her right palm that she didn’t at all expect.

She glances across at the blonde, appreciating the smart shirt and chinos that she had arrived in, but it’s the wide, blue eyes and blushing cheeks that Lena focuses on the most.

Kara’s chest heaves and her grip tightens on her notebook just enough for Lena to spot the strained knuckles that glow white, and it’s clear that the submissive feels it, too.

They have bonded.

Their souls and place within this world were meant to be connected.

Just waiting patiently in the background for their paths to finally cross and their bond cemented.

And Lena, for one, is shocked beyond belief after spending her entire adult life believing it was never going to happen for her; that she’d be one of the rare outcasts.

Everyone around her had been bonded for years. Lena had always been on the sidelines, watching quietly as her friends spanked their submissives halfway through a dinner party for showing poor attitudes, or sending them to the corner whilst visiting to ensure their rules were still followed inside someone else’s home.

She’d pretended not to, of course, but Lena had always yearned for a bond of her own, but she didn’t really know what to expect.

Dominant, submissive, somewhere a little in-between, Lena could never work it out, yet now, it feels right to be staring her new, bonded submissive down—the one completely in charge.

“Come here,” Lena murmurs.

Kara falters, one leg twitching, as though it attempts to carry her forwards without permission.

I have to say it is wild as shit going from the Supergirl fandom where huge swathes of it insisted that Lena was super totally completely in the right for going full supervillain and trying to kill Kara and also mind-control the entire world because she kept being Supergirl a secret from her, to the MAWS fandom where people are insisting Lois is a total bitch for daring to be a little upset that Clark lied to her about being Superman even though she'd mentioned that she has issues with people, including her dad, lying to her in the past, and Clark keeps disappearing during dangerous situations, making her incredibly worried about him when this whole time, he was Superman.
