i don’t really like kiara 🫣 there was a good basis for her character but she comes off as out of touch a lot, and they never really discuss it except for her fight with jj in s3 (where she makes him take it back)

she’s giving ‘wants the poor kid aesthetic’ without acknowledging her privilege. all she ever does is shit on her parents who are some of the only kooks who ACTUALLY make an honest living. i’m not saying i hate her or anything, obviously she’s just a teenage girl, but as a character she doesn’t rly do it for me. she doesn’t have much character development either

Don't get me wrong s1 Kie had the vibes, the looks, the attitude to be the cool, fun girl in that group but like you said she doesn't get a lot of character development and whilst that's probably because of the writing just using her as a plot device (because it adds to the story if she has parental drama etc) and seen as a "potential" love interest for one/any of the boys (when clearly she's somewhat queer? I feel? I might just be projecting lmao)

oh, i am so sorry in advance cause i’m a bitch for astrology and i will not shut up about it if you ask me. so, yeah, i have a huge zodiac obsession and i have made natal charts for all my friends, so yeah i’m pretty fluid in zodiac lol we’re talking about their sun signs here, right? let’s assume so. 

okay, so john b is leo. actually, it also fits in the show’s timeline cause we know that he had a birthday somewhat between season one and two, so it’s pretty accurate to assume that john b is leo (july 23 - august 22). leos are leaders by nature, they are loyal and fierce. they have big heart, but also they are kind of self-centered and that’s exactly what i see in john b. i’m not calling him selfish, i’m just saying that he can prioritise his own problems and his own vision. so yeah, that’s what helped me identify him as a leo. leo is a fire sign, let’s keep that in mind also. sarah is a gemini. geminis are curious, enthusiastic, and friendly. they bring excitement, animated conversation, and fun-loving, lively energy to the table. sarah as a gemini is an easy-going, life of a party type of person. however, as gemini sarah always needs a companion, she can’t be left alone and she’s kind of co-dependent. show portrays it pretty well with her, you must agree. gemini is an air sign. jj is an aries in my mind. i see pope as strong capricorn. capricorns are practical, determined, diligent, focused. pope as capricorn is determined and has a big picture, long-term goals. capricorns enjoy making things work harder, better, bigger. they like to deliver over and above expectations. also, capricorns often hold grudges on people and can’t easily forgive an forget, so it’s also something that pope has in him. capricorn is an earth sign. cleo in my mind is libra. libras are diplomatic, hate rush and oftenly weight their decisions. cleo as a libra thinks, analyses. with pogues she usually takes an objective viewpoint, find the fairest solution to any issue. libras hate mess, chaos, disorder and conflict. and i think that’s what we can see in cleo as well, she never had a real family and she really relies on the found one. she’s the one who grounds pogues in their chaos. so for me she’s libra hundred percent. libra is an air sign.

She’s VERY emotional and reacts to everything with emotions on display, that’s very cancer and not at all aquarius. The aquarius emotions come into play in the way she deals with others: she thinks she might like Pope so reacts emotionally (cancer sun) but the second she realizes she doesn’t she becomes completely unaware of Pope’s feelings and dumps him (aquarius moon). Also she runs from emotional expression when it comes to things she tries to hide (aka when Pope mentions her kook year).

Jen komentado pri alia ĉapitro! Kaj kiom da novaj kaj malfacilaj vortoj estas en ĝi!

La nomo de la ĉapitro estas "La Ŝtormo".

Resumo: Medo kaj Lidja prenas boaton por forlasi Italion kaj iri al Grekio. Sed, kiam ili estas surmare, ŝtormo ekaperas. Ĝi estas tre forta, kaj turnas la boaton kaj ne nur Medo kaj Lidja, sed ĉiuj boate falas en maron. En la fino, tamen, la ŝtormo komencas trankviliĝi. Medo kaj Lidja postvivis.

"Sive", la alia "aŭ"

Mi unue komprenis ĝin kiel "vel", kiu uzatas kiam la alternativoj laŭvolas. Tamen, kial alia vorto? Se estas alia vorto, estas alia signifo. Do mi ne volis atendi kaj serĉis pri ĝi. Rezultas ke jen unu pli nuanco en la signifo "aŭ". En la ekzemploj kiujn mi vidis, videblas la diferenco inter "vel" kaj "sive". Dum "vel" montras alternativojn kiujn la leganto/aŭskultanto povas elekti, "sive" montras kiel "ĉi tiuj du povas esti okaza(i)nta". La libro diras ke maro estas nomata unu aŭ alia nomo, tio estas, ke ĝi povas, de homoj, esti nomata per ambaŭ nomoj. Mi esperas ke mia klarigo estas komprenebla.

Samtempe, mi kredas ke, se oni nomas maron ambaŭmaniere, signifas ke uzi "sive" estas nerekte diri "vel".

Aperis la vorto "semper", signifanta "ĉiam". Sed kio igis min demandi estis la libra klarigo por ĝi.

Do mi scivolas: ĉu eblas uzi ambaŭ? Mi pensas jes, finfine, ĉu ili ne havas la saman signifon?

Ina finaĵo, vira vorto

La vorto estas «nauta».

Mi ne memoras ĉu mi priparolis tion antaŭe, sed mi jam estis atendanta aperi vorto kies finaĵo ne kongruas al la genro. Tio tre oftas en latinidaj lingvoj.

La alia uzo de ablativo: ellasi «dum»

Similas al Esperanto. Anstataŭ diri ekz «dum tri tagoj», oni povas diri «tri tagojn» aŭ eĉ, mi pensas, «tritage». Ankaŭ havas ĝin la latina, sed ne nur rilate al tempo, sed ankaŭ al okazoj. Anstataŭ «dum mare turbidum est (dum la maro estas malglata)», oni povas diri «mari turbido». Esperante mi pensas ke eble ne ĝustus N-vortigi ĝin, kiel «la maron malglatan», sed certe eblas E-vortigi: «malglatmare». Mi aparte ĝin ŝatis... Mi probable uzos tiajn mallongigojn.

Cetere, estas parto en PMEG kiu priparolas tion, ĉe 37.4.

Ĝi konfuzigis min, simile al kio okazas en Esperanto al E-vorto, kie oni povas legi ĝin kiel «lokativo» aŭ modo.

Jen ekzempla frazo kiu konfuzigis min:

Vento secundus naves e portu egrediuntur.

Mi komprenas ke ĝi povas esti tradukita kiel aŭ «Ŝipoj foriras de la haveno per la dua vento» aŭ «Ŝipoj foriras de la haveno dum la dua vento».

Tamen maniero scii kio estas kio ekzistas. Mi rimarkis ke, kiam estas per-ablativo, ĝi uzatas antaŭ la verbo, kiam estas dum-ablativo, malproksime de la verbo. Tion en la suba latina frazo ni povas vidi. Per-ablativo videblas en la ĉapitro Miles Romanus. La frazon mi ne memoras, sed estis io kiel: milites romani gladio pugnant.

Eble tio estas maniero ne krei konfuzon. Kvankam per-ablativo povas ŝanĝiĝi, restante post la verbo, anstataŭ antaŭ.

La deponentaj verboj

Kaj "deponenta" estas kreita de mi, ĉar la vorton esperante mi ne trovis.

Deponentaj verboj verboj kiuj aktivan voĉan signifon havas estas sed ilia formo alla estas. Latine, ĝis nun, la verbo aktivan voĉon havas sed ĝi skribatas pasivvoĉe.

Mi ne komprenas kial tio estis kreita. Kia neceso? Kial simple ne uzi la aktivan voĉon? Mi pripensas gugli tion.

Novaj vortoj senhalte

La kvanto de vortoj aperintaj estas freneza, ĉefe en la fino, kie mi bezonis iri vortaron ciun du aŭ tri vortojn. Mi, tiel antaŭĝojanta la sekvajn ĉapitrojn, iĝis iomete malfeliĉe. La vortojn mi bezonos lerni unue, sed mi ne ĉiujn lernos, sed la pli utilajn nur.

Multa linguae Latinae vocabula nescio. Fortasse necesse est adire alios locos, praeter liber. Discere volo, non ex libro modo, sed ex omni locis (et certe est vocabulum quod significat «omni locis», quod non scio), et id volo quod linguam Latinam melior discere potero.

Jen la latina frazo. Mi uzis iujn vortojn kiujn mi lernis el la iuj sekvaj ĉapitroj (ilin mi rapidlegis) kaj iujn el la vortaro. Tion mi pli faros de ĉi tiam ĉar pli bonas min esprimi.

i ship you with john b!! (side note: this is like a cool, non-selfish version of john b. i love that boy but we all know he has his flaws. let’s pretend he’s a well-rounded friend for the sake of the blurb!)

john b would constantly be doing two things: catching you when you fell (literally, when you trip or slip or anything), and scooping you into his arms when you started to cry. sometimes he did both at once. if jj was the king of chaos, you were the queen-- john b had learned that years ago. his best friend and his girlfriend were kleptos and slobs and klutzes and crazy people.

one night at a kegger, you would be very far gone. you were peacefully leaning against john b, who had his arm firmly around your waist. he was talking to some kid from school, and you were just standing with him as he chatted. your eyes were floating around the beach, basking in the feeling of jb’s thumb rubbing circles into your hipbone. you spotted jj, arm around a tourist as he laughed loudly. pope was nearby, talking to a girl who you assumed was there with jj’s touron. you’d hiccup a laugh at pope’s current facial expression-- he didn’t seem too impressed with whatever jj’s joke had been. you turned your head a bit more in search of kie, almost totally turning around in john b’s arms before you found her sat on a log surrounded by a bunch of other local pogues. one of the guys with her was strumming a guitar, and it seemed like your friend was in the middle of a vocal performance. bad bitch, you subconsciously think, giggling proudly to yourself. john b would squeeze your side, chuckling a little at how far in your own world you were. you’d look up at him with a hazy smile, placing a quick peck to his cheek before beginning to pull out of his hold. “i’m gonna go listen to kie sing,” you’d declare, spinning yourself out of his arm and sauntering drunkenly over to kie. when you sat next to her, you glanced back to john b, finding him still watching you. he’d wave, and you’d wiggle your fingers foolishly back, prompting him to laugh and turn back to his conversation. you’d tune in to kie’s voice, giving your full attention to your best friend and her talent. after a few more songs, kie would announce that the “set” was over. spinning in your seat, your eyes would quickly locate john b, a few feet away from where you’d left him. he was still talking to the same friend, but pope had joined the conversation. 

you got up and began moving toward your boyfriend. as you neared, you heard pope distantly say, “incoming.” john b turned, opening his arms when he spotted you. your pace increased a bit at the thought of being in his arms, but just before you reached him, your flip flop folded underneath your foot, bending backwards and catching you in the sand. you began to propel forward against your own will, and simply waited to hit the ground-- when john b caught you in mid air. “hey, woah there, champ. how we doin’?” he’d say with a laugh. “stupid fucking shoe,” you’d scold, switching your drink into your other hand so you could scoop both your flip flops out of the sand. jb kept one hand on you, a smile pasted onto his face at your antics. when you’d managed all your business, you’d look back to john b with an exasperated huff, returning his goofy smile soon after. he’d laugh again, pulling you into his chest. “you’re so drunk.” your jaw would drop, immediately offended at his assumptions. you weren’t so drunk anymore. now you were just regular drunk. before you could correct him, he’d tilt his head over to pope and the unnamed dude. “i’m gonna take my drunk home. you coming back to the chateau, pope?” you didn’t hear pope’s reply, too busy mumbling under your breath about how, “i’m not that drunk. and i’m not your drunk. i’m your girlfriend. life partner. love of your life. jerk.” john b turned back to you, detaching you from himself before crouching in front of you. “hop on, sister.” “ew, john b. do you have an incest kink that you’ve been keeping from me? because you should’ve kept keeping it from me,” you’d ramble as you clambered onto his back. once you were all settled in, he started to walk back across the beach toward the chateau. you snatch john b’s hat from his head, placing it on your own instead so you could rake your fingers through his hair as you walked. “use a condom!” you’d hear yelled from behind you. not a doubt that the voice was jj, you and john b both raised middle fingers without even looking.

when you got back to the chateau, you would follow john b in the front door, him tossing his keys onto the table and turning to you. “are you really that drunk?” you’d guffaw at his blatancy, shaking your head as you walked over to him. “no, i’m not too drunk.” “not too drunk for what, you fiend? mind out of the gutter, please,” john b would jokingly scold, his hands finding their way to your face as yours wrapped around his waist. “the gutter’s all i’ve ever known, bitch.” his face would fall into fake offendedness, making you giggle as you pulled his mouth to yours. his hands would find your hair, pulling back just a bit to mutter one last thing against your lips. “i’m really glad you’re not too drunk.”
