Wanna know one of my hc for Johnny Fiama that is also kinda crack ship ?

I thought about that months ago lol I think it came up because at that time Johnny and Lips were my beloveds and it would be fun to show that at some point they tried to have something but it was so catastrophic that they didn’t go past the two dates.

Around 2005 Johnny wanted to formally come out to the media as Bi. So walking around some bars he met Lips, playing solo on stage, y´ know, because in those years he was apart from the band. Johnny asked him for a duet, bought him drinks and offered to accompany him to his apartment, holding hands.

And seem idyllic… but it was only in theory! Despite having many things in common, Johnny and Lips didn’t have any chemistry. Mainly because Johnny was more focused on attracting some paparazzi than on his date. And on Lips' part because he agree to accompany the man because, deep inside, his calm voice and bearing of Frank Sinatra slightly reminded him of Zoot, finding that in fact, they are nothing alike.

To Johnny’s fortune, a paparazzi saw them just as they left the bar, making sure to squeeze Lips' hand, a little too hard and smile at the camera. Now, Lips doesn't mind being seen holding hands with Johnny Fiama, let alone with a man, but someone putting a camera with a flash straight in his face, naturally.

Well, if the date was so terrible, why did they go out again? Easy, once Johnny got the exclusive he wanted, he went back to being the flirty man we know, so Lips decided to give them another chance.

Somehow the second date was worse! They met in Johnny’s apartment and every topic they decided to talk about just made their differences more obvious for the worse, making everything uncomfortable. Stuff like:

They said goodbye that day, with the silent promise of never seeing each other again. Although I find it funny to think that Johnny actually refers to Lips as his ex, even though they only had two dates. Because Lips is a beauty and it’s always cool to have such an attractive ex.

But they met again 16 years later, during the filming of The Muppets Haunted Mansion.

Both were surprised to see the other on the set, as they never actually knew that the two were part of The Muppets; Lips, because during the time he was away from the band he decided not to know anything about The Muppets and Johnny…simply because he is distracted.

So Johnny decided to say hi to Lips, friendly:

But hey, some things changed at Lips… he came back with the band!

And yes, The Electric Mayhem and Johnny Fiama already knew each other, they worked together on several Muppet projects. Even so, Johnny never knew that Lips was part of the band.

During the breaks both talked a lot about many things, so Johnny found out that Lips already had a relationship with someone in the band, getting a ¨yes¨ to each member when he ask who it was. Their conversation flowed great this time, even Johnny was somewhat disappointed that Lips already had a relationship (or so he thought, he didn’t quite understand).

But Lips and the band invited him to hang out with them, even after the recording. Lips and Johnny agreed to call themselves ex´s to the media, only to generate gossip.

...And Sal? Hahahaha WELL! Sal was there all the time and always knew Johnny’s intentions. Sal looked after him in the distance always, he wasn’t going to let Johnny walk alone at night on unknown streets! also Johnny and Sal live together, he could hear through the walls that awkward date. Although he is the first to mock the fleeting infatuation of his best friend, he accompany him during the duel, even buy him ice cream.

And that is all! I thought about this months ago and the memory came to me because someone asked about hc of Johnny, a post that I plan to do later, but I wanted to expand on this silly point separately. Thanks if you read so far, you just read a long crackship fanfiction xd

idk about anyone else but i always love crack ships and ships in general, i can always appreciate other ships, even if they're not my otp. It just means more content to enjoy!

Luci and Solomon would be fun as a pairing i think. If I had a crack ship, it'd be Solomon and Mammon. I don't know if they've had any moments at all together. Maybe one.

But Solomon has been steadily climbing up my favorites list on the ladder since nightbringer. Though he'll never take Mammon's place for number one lol. But I like to imagine them both with my mc.

I can imagine Mammon accidentally getting his hands on a really rare spell book and instead of selling it, gifting it to the two of them with the excuse that he couldn't get any offers for it (he is lying and it's obvious from his blush)

Or Solomon coming across a rare item he forgot about and gifting it to Mammon because he thinks he'd like it. Or digging through his collection for something he's willing to part with to help Mammon with debt, saying something about needing to get rid of it is all.

and after writing these little blurbs i will be thinking about these dummies a lot more, it is no longer an 'if' i think. new ship and new ot3 ig akskfj

Okay, yes, I absolutely love crackships. I can also appreciate other ships, I have no problem with any of that at all. I say people should ship whoever they like.

While I always write x reader, I actually have quite a few Obey Me ships that I like. DiaLuci of course which I actually did write a little story for per a request I received. Those two are just so obvious, how can you not ship it, right? I'm also fond of SoloSim because I think those two have an interesting dynamic. And of course there's SimeBarb which is also just really cute. I'm down with BarBeel and Solodeus too though to a lesser extent. And while I never really considered it before, apparently there is also Diavolo/Belphie (sorry I don't know their ship name lol), which is not something I thought of, but I don't dislike it!

My favorite crackship is absolutely SoloLuci. I love their relationship already, it's so funny to me, and I just can't help but enjoy the idea of them actually ending up together because it would be even funnier to me. Like I could write whole stories about them.

My other big crackship is Mammon/Barbatos. (BarbMam??) Again, I just find this to be absolutely hilarious. I could write whole stories about them, too, and I'd be laughing the whole time lol.

Okay one last crackship from me that I think would be fun is Diavolo/Asmodeus. Because listen, Asmo would be so into being queen lololol. And I just think it'd make Lucifer so mad, too. I'm sorry I just think it's so funny I can't help myself.

Of course, any and all of these become a little less crazy if MC is involved, but I generally consider these ships without MC. I did write that little blurb about a Solomon/MC/Lucifer threesome, but I generally like to think of them without MC because that just makes it so much funnier to me.

I love your description of a Solomon/MC/Mammon throuple situation, though. I always felt like Mammon didn't like Solomon lol but yo neither does Lucifer so. But I think with an MC that they both love and care for to kind of initiate the necessity of them being in close proximity and getting along... yeah, I could see all of the things you describe happening.

That'd be super adorable, now I'm just imagining them starting a little trio band and calling it MC and the Mons. (I'm so sorry.)

I came up with it because of a bizzare WG Hunger Games Simulator where it was stated that they were holding hands. This is unironically my new favorite crackship in the whole fandom now. They are the two most polarizing characters in the fandom. They're literally perfect for each other your honor

Like I hate Piss Lawnmoer but tbh I like the idea of this crackship a lot. I already have a plot for it vaguely in my head: Miss Power leaves Earth like she did at the end of The Rise of Miss Power, then somehow crashes back on the planet, and somehow meets Glen, at which point they bond over hating Twobrains and somehow smooch in the process

Miss Power now just kind of lives on Earth full time after this. She's a civilian now. But don't get me wrong, she's still an asshole. Except instead of trying to conquer the planet, she's just your rude neighbor and is exclusively nice to Glen. Like she's still awful just ever so slightly less awful than before

I'm going to make this crackship an actual thing in the fandom. You will not stop me. Spread the word of Cosmic Loserhood. What made you ship it?

Back then we were thinking about people to ship JC with, and WQ existed. Since then, Untamed gave our little crackship food. And since then I also started OTPing Chengxian and the core transfer has been a object of easy fixation. It would be inaccurate to say that I started shipping Chengqing because I started shipping Chengxian. But I certainly ship Chengqing through a certain amount of WWX feelings - not only Chengxian, in fact.

What are your favorite things about the ship?

sometimes a mad scientist performs a secret, impossible experiment on someone who doesn't know what's going on and they get together afterwards, and suddenly there's this huge, grotesque thing between them.

I think they should kink on it, but I also think JC would deal very badly indeed with WQ's involvement in the gc transfer. (in my mind she doesn't tell him until she has no choice/it comes out.) I can't overstate how much I adore the kink (in a wide sense) potential between them.

they get one another, about duty and family and keeping the people you care for close and safe and not trusting easily.

also - this is notably less my thing - but I think they'd be good at taking of one another when they're not tearing each other apart for the heavy topics (they agree on duty, but that doesn't mean it would never come up in a bad argument, and the core transfer reframes everything there - suddenly wq has very little room to argue about her dutifulness! you were rearming a direct enemy of your sect babe! you were 100% betraying your sect!)(unless: and I think this is juicy: unless WQ explains that she expected JC to die after the core transfer. no JC with a core, no betrayal.)

and yes also chengqingxian, or at least wq and wwx being besties.

also very into the age-gap between them. she's older! she's already respected and established and a wordly grown-up! it's not relevant to post-canon chengqing except as a contrast to how things were back then, which is still very interesting, but in a canon divergence where the Wen siblings go to Lotus Pier, or sth like that, I really like the idea/image of WQ's crush on JC. it's funny and it's cute and look I think JC should get a win. The win in this case is WQ horny-clamping her jaw and respecting him. his brains. while looking disrespectfully.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

...this is very dependent of "what-ifs" but: I don't think JC would be totally okay with WQ and WWX's relationship.

He's deeply insecure when it comes to people loving him, and WWX betrayed his trust and convinced WQ to go along with it. (in Untamed it's made worse by the fact that JC and WQ already knew one another.) For me, WWX and WQ get one another to a level that other characters don't, I'm only 10% kidding when I call them soulmates, and imo JC would not be able to deal with that very well unless it's solved in Chengqingxian. (which I think he'd shoulder better because they're both here; if WWX is with LWJ it's... it's not exactly YZY while JFM is thinking of WCZ and CSS, but something like that. to me. I do think he'd be jealous.)

less unpopular than it seemed at one time, but bears repeating that it's fine for WQ to neither peg nor dom JC. I mean I'm failing to write that but I think WQ needs and wants to be pampered from time to time. Otoh I also think she's a lot more likely than WWX to tell JC what she needs, since her self-image isn't all twisted up in being better-than-jc at all times.

I clearly didn't try hard enough to keep WWX out of this answer.😔

These two are John's divorced parents...that's it. Didn't consider them before but the fourth movie gave me so much interaction that I just couldn't stay idle. They're giving me "Divorced parents but when they're together in one room it's like they never divorced" energy. The whole scene of them helping John get ready to face possible death was so wholesome...as wholesome as this franchise can be I mean.

John/Zero

I like this ship just because it's funny. Zero's acting as if he is an obsessed fangirl is sooo funny in the context of organized crime. I don't really imagine them as a normal ship, more like unrequited love where Zero writes self-insert fanfics and John doesn't know that he exists.

Mostly happened because of you and @tobytheeggo. I mean, yeah, I don't think I need to explain much it's two cunty Europeans what else do you need? They're awful for each other. They're the celebrity couple that everyone is like "couple goals" and then turns out they're constantly at war.

I mean...have you seen the fourth movie? I love the bickering, the parallels, the "friends placed against each other by circumstances outside of their control", they embody the dynamics I seem to enjoy most often in other fandoms. Their first fight. Them shit-talking in another language so that Killa wouldn't understand. Them teaming up in the stairs scene. When Caine sits down next to John and cries because it's all finally over. John has a lot of "friends" throughout the whole franchise, but these two are the only ones that made me feel their relationship while watching the actual movie and not after I have already read and created headcanons.

Bonus: My John/Grisha crackship that only I and like two people understand. They're kinda like John/Caine but only add EVEN MORE differences by throwing a blond policeman fuckboy into John's face and seeing what happens.

Hello! I do take fic suggestions, and funnily enough I had just recently saved this exact fic to my "Mark For Later" list in AO3.

However, when it comes to suggesting fics, I want to put out the disclosure that if you do send me a fic, there's a chance I won't like it. And that's not a jab at the author or their writing or anything, sometimes you just don't vibe with every fic you read, you know?

And I don't really like broadcasting fic's I don't like, as I don't want to put the author on blast or anything, so if you do send me a fic recommendation, and I don't end up replying to it, it could just be that I've read/already read the fic and I just didn't vibe with it too much.

But other than that, I do take fic recommendations!

My favourite crackship:

Fischler/The Mechanic

okay okay so firstly I'm putting this on a post-series timeline, in an International Rescue that has expanded their trusted circle just a tad so the Mechanic is now an iR Agent, and they call him in to help with Fischler's latest imploding contraption and he a) produces a device that contains the detonation and absorbs the kinetic energy, and b) picks Fischler up and throws him over his shoulder and SPRINTS because of course Fischler reaches out to touch the thing because how does it WORK?

anyway, Fischler is extremely flustered, and he actually stays quiet during the post rescue lecture that he's become accustomed to, but he is not listening at all, he's too busy admiring the Mechanic and already inventing up a mechanism to impress him and so when they drop him off (he walked me to my door Stacy*!!) he rushes to him workshop and there's a little gadget made within the week that explodes confetti and an invitation to dinner. It arrives on the Mechanic's doorstep and it immediately breaks and the Mechanic has to put out a little electrical fire, and he's staring at it very unimpressed trying to work out what it's for and why it's here, because Fischler helpfully sends him a note with the gadget saying "with love" and nothing else. So in the end he fixes it and sends it back, because the engineering in the mechanism is at least interesting, and adds a note that Fischler will need to try harder in the future. Fischler is over the moon, thinking that he's IN and the Mechanic's just given him an open invite to go WILD and so he makes another device, which breaks, is fixed and sent back.

And so on and so on, and while this is all happening, Fischler is starting to get better at making things, because his work is being corrected and sent back for review and he's not stupid, he know the devices aren't quite the same, so he starts tacking "Mechanic shortcuts" onto his work (aka the right way to do it), because he thinks it's a great little flirting technique.

I just think the Mechanic remaining totally oblivious would be very funny, and Fischler flirting through his inventions would be very sweet, and it's difficult to maintain correspondence without developing a fondness, and the Mechanic finds he enjoys the friendship that doesn't have ties to his past and he likes the little "puzzles" as he sees them. Naturally, at some point Fischler needs to be rescued again, and this time the Mechanic isn't all stoic and silent, he actively chews him out because how could Fischler be so foolish and careless and... cavalier??

Anyway that's the backdrop I'm giving them :DDD

I have ALOT of questions to ask that have to do with Austria's charachter and relationships, so I'm just gonna dump em all here now so that I don't have to make to many asks.(also no need to answer all of them only ones that you're interesting, also apologies if some have already been answered^^)

Yes, but I need to preface this by saying that since I'm not Austrian and I'm not that big of a history nerd, my opinions and preferences mostly rely on the Hetalia characterization and my own interpretation of it.

- I think my biggest pet peeve is when Austria is portrayed as being genuinely abusive and cruel to Italy, or abusive and misogynistic to Hungary. These usually come into the same portrayal of Austria so I'll talk about them at the same time.

There are some early strips were he is shown mistreating Italy (stomping on him, locking him in a room because he supposedly stole food, tying him to a tree with a sign reading 'do not feed pasta'), but I think it's also clear that they shouldn't be taken too literally and that they were meant to be funny from Hima's part rather than serious (and we do know that Hima is absolutely able to deliver a more angsty tone to his strips when he wants to). Besides, in the very same strip where it is said that Feli is being mistreated by Roderich, it is also said that despite being scared of that side of him, he loves hearing him play music and Austria is eager to let him take breaks from his chores whenever he's caught overhearing him play.

Either way, context should also be taken into account: Austria was a young teen himself and was very overwhelmed by his own duties, as proven by that scene where he's shown having a slight breakdown after having to face his own human bosses and allies who seemed to blame him in first person for anything going wrong.

Roderich was undoubtedly mistreated himself, and I think he ended up bullying Feli a bit just to cope with it. Which, obviously, doesn't make it right, but still makes his behavior more understandable. He was an overwhelmed teen, expected to deal with so many duties that would already be stressful and hard for a full adult (among those, even an imposed marriage, and as much as I love SpAus, that'd have indeed piled up to the sources of Roderich's stress), and was given complete power over a centuries old, immortal toddler. Austria relieved stress by getting angry at him the same way others got angry and yelled at him for their own troubles.

Nonetheless, Roderich's attitude towards Feliciano seems to change a lot throughout the decades, especially after HRE leaves, when he gives him a day off because he knows how heartbroken he must be feeling and doesn't want to make it harder for him.

(This also doubles as proof that Austria isn't and has never been abusive nor mysoginistic towards Hungary but we'll get to that later)

Plus, there's not only the aforementioned will to concede his underling and servant Italy a break whenever he wanted to listen to his music, but also a drawing that implies how Roderich has always paid for Feliciano's personal wardrobe both after and before finding out he's a boy.

Another proof that their relationship soon became softer is how Feliciano decides to stay with Austria when he's given the opportunity to go live with Spain and Romano instead.

It is even implied that at some point Feli developed a tiny crush on him when he got older, before becoming independent. On the other hand, Austria seems to have developed a pretty fatherly attitude towards him by then.

His fatherly attitude towards Italy seems to become more prominent as they both become older, which shows how he never meant to be cruel to him, but was rather simply acting as an immature overwhelmed teen with way too much power on his hands.

There are several other bits of teen Feli's everyday life with Austria and Hungary where they definitely look more like a family than anything else. And, to this day, Feliciano is shown to be fond of them. Austria seems to return the same fondness as he allows Feli to hug him and is definitely still close to him.

Ooops, this post already got long and we're not even past Question1- I'm sorry, I love to ramble about this stuff, haha.

I'll try to make this one shorter. (and then I didn't)

I believe the idea that Austria is misogynistic to Hungary actually stems from a misunderstanding of Hungary's character.

Hungary is initially shown to be a very wild kid who claims to be a boy. Yet, all of a sudden, she's shown wearing dresses and sweeping and doing chores for Austria.

Some people saw this change as Austria's doing, I suspect mostly because of that bit where Prussia asks her to come hunt with him and Hungary is shown trying to resist the urge to follow him.

However.

Was it really Austria's doing? Was it because in Austria's opinion a girl shouldn't stray away from a stereotypically feminine gender role?

I highly doubt it.

First of all, canonically speaking, Hungary makes it clear as a kid that her desire to be a male comes from the need she feels to fit in, not because she actually feels she should be male, or even just a "tomboy". She was surrounded by only male Nations and, while initially she did believe she also was a boy (because, what else could she think? Being a Nation doesn't come with a guidebook, if you're the only girl-Nation you ever heard of, you're likely to assume that you're not really like a human female but you'll eventually grow to be male like all the others), she soon realized she was a girl when the first hints of puberty showed up. She confesses this to Prussia.

The way she talks about it, in my opinion, feels more like the behavior of a girl who disguises herself as a boy because she fears that otherwise she'll be treated differently and be negated as much freedom as she has as a man. Let's not forget that this strip is set in 1525, and as much as Nation-people can be prone to change, they are still immersed in the same culture and set of values of their fellow humans for every century they live through. It's a legit fear from Hungary's part and that explains why she tried to hide it as much as she could. Not because she wanted to, but because she lived in a society in which women were treated very differently from men.

(After all, the girl disguising herself as a boy to do stuff was an established trope in classic literature).

... So, all of a sudden this changes when she becomes one of Austria's territories. It is established from basically every interaction between the two that Hungary has pretty much had a crush on him ever since she stepped foot in his house.

Let's take the biggest elephant out of the room: Hungary's gender has nothing to do with her being forced to do chores for Austria.

This comes from the fact that she's a conquered territory, not because she's a woman. This is proven by the vaste majority of other conqueror/conquered relationship in Hetalia: for instance, Chibi!Italies were requested to do chores for Austria/Spain and the Baltics were requested to do chores for Russia.

And, as the strip I shared before shows, Austria is even shown helping her washing the dishes when he gives Feli a day off. That doesn't really seem like something a misogynist would do, considering Austria, as their master, was absolutely not required to do so and did it 100% out of his own free will.

As for Hungary now wearing feminine dresses, I highly doubt Austria ever requested her to. After all, she is free to wear uniforms and join him in the battlefield, so why would he think anything of it?

What I believe happened, is that after Hungary's superiors found out that she's a girl, she finally felt free to express herself the way she wanted to. She's shown fighting even after her gender was public knowledge, so that has to mean that once her secret was revealed, this still didn't affect the way her superiors saw her, they didn't suddenly start treating her the same way they would a human girl.

So she felt free to explore her feminine side, a side of her that she is definitely shown to enjoy and be comfortable in up to current days.

Then why this?

First of all, as a Nation that is currently living at another Nation's house, it's not like you can just run away and have fun with the first fellow Nation you see, especially when it's Prussia of all people.

Secondly, yes, I do believe Austria played a role in this, but not in the way some people think to paint him as a bad guy.

Austria, at least on the surface, seems the complete opposite of Prussia. He appears as proper, quite introverted, has that "little master" aura that Gilbert loves mocking him for, but has a softer side he tries to hide.

So, Hungary basically fell in love with someone who is the opposite of Prussia.

I think it makes sense, for a young teen girl to try to impress her crush to get his attention.

Erzsi probably thought "if Prussia loves this stuff, and Austria is so different from Prussia, then if I want Austria to return my feelings I must try to act a bit more like him and a bit less like Prussia".

... Aaaand, that's it. I wanted to talk about this a bit in depth because it really bothers me when people claim to dislike/hate Austria for things he didn't even do. I mean, it's fine to dislike a character but don't spread misconceptions like that and claim we like an abusive character just because you look at everything he does with an ill mind due to having already decided beforehand that he's bad (.__.)

- Another thing that I personally dislike, is when he's written with his façade matching 100% with his real self. Like (I promise I will not expand on this as much as before, I won't dig for any visual proof to make it shorter//), yes he has the whole 'little master' thing going on, but it is implied here and there that his real self isn't exactly like this and that the way he looks and acts on the surface is a defense mechanism he uses because he feels very insecure about himself. He's not a case of "gentleman with a secret punk side" like England, but he's stated to be a very frugal person despite how he appears, he's also said and shown to be a lot nicer, unselfish and less naggy than he appears but he only shows this side of him to people he's very close to and truly cares about. I think the picture Hima drew of how he looks with his hair down and without glasses is a very telling visual example of the duality of his character (the way he looks naturally is also extremely close to how he looked as a child, and as a child he was clumsy, genuine, laughed easily and was pretty sweet. This seems to furtherly imply how his 'usual demeanor' is a façade and beneath it he's not that different from how he used to be).

- One thing that I don't necessarily dislike, but makes me shake my head in slight amusement (mostly because I go "AH! Hima got ya!") is when people depict Austria's house/room as very tidy or make him very sensitive to chaos/mess. I noticed this usually happens in PruAus fics especially (but I think I've seen it at least once in a Spaus fic too), probably because they seem to fit the "messy bad boy/tidy music introvert" trope pretty well on the surface. This is a lot more popular in old fics compared to newer ones, but it always makes me giggle because I love how Himaruya made Prussia the tidy one as opposed to Austria being messy, despite you'd probably expect it the other way if you didn't come across that piece of canon.

Like Romance? Try Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel!

Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss both handle romantic plotlines excellently, especially in the way that there's something for everyone. They have romantic couples in various different stages of relationships, with different personality matches and different challenges. There are non-romantic plotlines, too, but as a romance lover I want to focus on the merit of the romance in these shows and why I personally like basically every main pairing we're presented.

Stolas and Blitzo (HB) are objectively the most problematic ship, having one of the largest power differentials in addition to the being two worst communicators, and each of them having low self-worth to boot. They happen to be my favourite because I find them the most interesting for these reasons lol. They both need to do some growing inside and outside their relationship to make things work, but I'm rooting for them because I think and hope the pay off will be spectacular.

Meanwhile, Charlie and Vaggie (HH) are largely unproblematic queens. There are some deceptions involved in their story, but they work through their issues fairly well, they respect one another immensely and believe in each other's dreams and aspirations. They also start off the show together, so you get to enjoy their sweet relationship from day one.

I would say Moxie and Millie (HB) are most similar to Charlie and Vaggie in that they are already married by the beginning of the show and they support each other nigh unconditionally. Like Chaggie, they run into some issues but they're fairly easy to resolve with some open communication and love. They're also just very funny to me.

Angel and Husk (HH) start out on more rocky terrain than the above two examples, however, their communication (and perhaps self worth?) issues don't come close what Stolitz face, with them being able to speak plainly and honestly to each other with relatively little challenges. They also are on more even footing, although some of their life circumstances clearly influence how they act towards each other. There's lots of potential for them to grow together and also face their shitty circumstances, and I'm excited to see where they go from here.

Fizzarolli and Asmodeus (HB) are another couple that are fairly sweet, actually, and despite their power differential it hasn't posed them a ton of issues within their relationship. The power difference in their relationship is actually more of a problem externally with the perceptions of the other denizens of hell, giving them different issues to deal with than other couples. They also serve as a great blueprint within HB of what Stolitz might be able to achieve if they get their shit together, and babey, I love me some parallels and thematic throughlines.

There are some other couples in the shows, such as Vortex and Beelzebub, and other ships people enjoy such as Alastor and Lucifer, so if you enjoy smaller pairings/side characters or building up upon less-canon ships, there's potential there to. Lastly, there's great potential for crackships and rarepairs considering the large and distinctive cast lol.

JOTAHAN FANWORKS IS A03???

A fellow Jotahan enjoyer is DESPERATE for the crumbs. The time has come, I shall unveil my true nature in order to lend you a hand. We'll survive this together, Anon!

Ohhh boy, where to even begin. I know the bewildering absolute lack of fanart out there and my comment about crumbs might sound discouraging, and could make it seem like a worse situation than it actually is. But do not fret! AO3 got ur back! (I must apologise in advance for rambling, but honestly many of these fics are amazing and I owe their writers my life. Feel free to scroll down to the bit where I put the links to fics, lists, and authors that sometimes carry this ship on their backs).

I'm gonna list a bunch that I've recently been bookmarking in the website, as part of my months long personal crusade to read every single Jotahan work up there, and I'm kinda halfway through now I think, so I've got the stuff. Currently, there's a total of 393 Jotahan fics on the Archive, not all of them are the best quality, naturally, but that's okay, because the good fics are— and I'm gonna stress this out— The. Shit. Some Jotahan writers are wonderful masters of their craft, to the point you'll most likely eventually forget that, canonically, Rohan and Jotaro barely even exhange a few words in the first place! There is utterly delightful, suuuch delectable material here; fics that made the ship for me and elevated it from lol funny crackship to one of my top tier favorite romances/relationships of all time, in all of media, period.

You'd think, initially, that authors have to do some crazy acrobatics to settle on how they'd go about fulfilling the task of feeding dying starving suckers like me; how they'd go about making a relationship between these characters believable and feasible. But! surprisingly, there have come to be actual tropes in Jotahan narratives, stemming from how oddly natural their dynamic flows when you just give it some thought. My brain decided to conclude one day, that this is sorta like stepping into different possibilities of how Rohan and Jotaro would hit it up, because some fics can be quite similar in their approaches, but nonetheless distinctive and remarkable all the same. These characters can work SO well together, for better or worse, that there's no questioning it anymore for me. You'll understand, or maybe not (maybe you already do) but regardless I think you'll have fun checking these out!

So without further ado, and before I go on an errand of an essay about how this ship deserves more love and attention than it gets, I'm gonna drop the links. I know AO3 can look messy or be intimidating for people who are not familiar with the interface, but the first thing that will come in handy is knowing about pairing tags: your typical character/character tag that is often the first one you see following the title of a fic. If its got the characters of your preference, click on it, and you'll be sent to all the works in the Archive that feature that tag . You can start browsing for goodies from there! here's the tag to the huge assortment of fics starring the couple of mildly disfunctional adults that we want to see together.

And here is a lil bit of my latest (on-going) effort to build up a personal list of favorites and must-reads:

Underneath Perfection by Shorktooth ; I'm gonna be biased, because this one right here is my absolute. favorite. Nothing comes close. I'm even getting a little emotional by barely thinking about it. Actually, not entirely sure, but it was the fic that first sold me on this pairing when I wanted to give it a chance. Get-together fic, fairly long but definitely worth it. Not tedious, very fun, lots of variety, lots of incredibly sweet moments, it's a good deal all around. Of course there are little details here and there that keep it from being perfect, but they're minor and insignificant when viewing the whole picture. Much respect for how the author handles these characters, the progression of events, the story's pacing, and overall how organic everything feels; how natural. There are a bunch of scenes that have been embedded in my mind for months, and bits of dialogue I even reference and feel are strongly akin to what Jotaro or Rohan would actually say, even if this is fanwork. Okay, okay, I'll stop here because I'm saving my final thoughts for when I finish reading this story; Stone Ocean's animated adaptation must reach its end first. This fic follows Rohan and Jotaro across parts 4 to 6 of JJBA, so if anyone's avoiding spoilers they might have to be wary of those, skip this fic, or put it on hold like I did. Can't wait for part 6 to be over so I can get back to this work lmao. Its ending will probably crush me and be painful as hell but I don't care

How Soon Is Now? by Morioh-Cho-Radio (crimsonherbarium) ; Listen, one cannot talk about Jotahan fanfiction without mentioning "How Soon Is Now?". Underneath Perfection is my personal favorite no questions asked, but this series??? this is a must-read. Mandatory almost. Fuck, I haven't even gotten past the first three or four works in this collection but I tell you it's amazing (forever saving the rest for when I have the time to sit down and immerse myself into it because it is that special). It's got 10 single chapter stories in total, varying in lenght. Crimsonherbarium is one of those authors that manage to rightfully appropiate these characters and what they're about; nothing feels out of place, and the writing is just *chef kiss* it is thoroughly polished and hooks me in instantly, every single time. This fanfic even has its own playlist! and the songs selection, both for it and the fic titles, I think is fitting as hell for Jotahan, what else can I say?? read this series. go go go!!! have a feast!!

oh i know (it goes on, it gets old) by theultimateburrito ; Oh man... this one is something else. Is its own thing, I believe. Single chapter, kind of a long read, but you'll be enthralled. Feels like a novel, and it's not ncesarily out there, romantically speaking. The words I'm looking for to describe it are subtlety, and patience. It's a very unique short story that features comfortable company, familiarity, introspection, Rohan being his insatiably curious self, and one intriguing mystery that sounds straight out of Araki's work. I won't spoil it, but there's a particular place that I didn't even know existed irl until I read this fic and that on itself is maddeningly funny to me.

Now, some improvised picks of mine, done in speedreading fashion, because I've read too many works by now and can't actually think of what to put in here (keeping this list relatively brief and simple was more difficult than I thought). A list consisting of short stories to pick up on the go, separated by the general feeling I get from them:

Short and sweet:

Art Kids by anarchaick ; mild parallels made between Rohan and Noriaki, as well as Jotakak mentions are quite common. How these affect the mood of the story or the nature of Rohan and Jotaro's relationship is up to the fic, but in this one that is simply heartwarming

old recipe, new need by bishounen_curious ; this one's a sickfic, and it encapsulates some aspects of their dynamic SO well. I love this ficlet. It's all in the details, and the Domesticity

Ecotone by kujo (curricle) ; please read this one. That's it just read it. It is plain, bitesized perfection

the loneliest whale by pinkdarkboy ; wholesome, cute, and works as a comfort story

Short and steamy (not necesarily explicit):

Falling In Love by Kinda sad this one's by an orphan account :') regardless, it is a great read

Short and angsty/bittersweet:

It Is What It Is by illmoure ; .... sigh. Conflicting feelings about this one, but because it is an incredible work expertly written to achieve that purpose. Also, last Jotahan fic (yet...?) by one of the BEST writers for this ship. I'll later just drop a link to them directly

Save the speeches, flowers are for funerals by Morioh-Cho-Radio (crimsonherbarium) ; Hanahaki disease, I eat that shit up. It is the perfect combination of angst and romantic yearning, and as it is to be expected from this fic's writer here, this is another banger.

Short and funny:

useless questions by bishounen_curious ; weed shenanigans. It's pretty humorous, but that isn't mutually exclusive with tenderness, or physical intimacy. Therefore, I was torn between putting this one under the Short And Steamy category, but the first half is fairly hilarious on its own right so, yeah.

the death of kishibe rohan (1999, colorized) by oredatte ; Rohan being ridiculous, give it a read if you're looking for pure absurdity. Just satire here, and a bit of second-hand embarrasment

Short AU ficlets that are really nice:

A Sort of Homecoming by Morioh-Cho-Radio (crimsonherbarium) ; Japanese folklore inspired, in which Rohan is a yokai inhabiting a long abandoned place that belongs to Jotaro's family. I JUST noticed the fic was temporarily removed, but I read it long ago and still remember how beautiful it was. Actually, anything written by Morioh-Cho-Radio is absolute gold. ... pssst, you can still find this story via the Wayback Machine, but you didn't hear it from me—

Beyond the Sea by illmoure ; Mermay fic :) Marine Biologist Kujo Jotaro has a fascinating encounter. This one's just straight up lovely and refreshing

tears of heliades by pinkdarkboy ; inspired by the tale of Pygmalion and Galatea from Greek mythology

I was planning on listing authors who deserve way more than a honorable mention, but the post was getting too long, and I simply find it hard to rush a selection like that. Maybe some other time? Although, definitely do check out some of the writers whose work has already been featured above!

Oof.... Being honest, there are many more titles I wish I could just gather in one place but I haven't had the time yet. This pairing has provided me with an endless amount of comfort, besides being mostly a what-if scenario, but it quickly turned just as important to me as the source material it came from. Fanfiction can feel just as valid and impactful as media published by conventional means, and I'll think about these stories from here on out, long after I found them. I'll think of these characters, and the silly little made up reality in my head where they're genuinely happy, finding comfort and a safe space with each other, growing and developing with time, and it'll make me smile like a total fool. I really don't mind that in the slightest 🎶

Oughhh this is such a sweet ask 😭😭😭 There hasn't been anything "wrong" necessarily - I've been struggling to get through this part of the planned story as I am... way more comfortable writing angst/hurt/comfort/more plot nonsense rather than fluff. I love drawing fluffy stuff! Struggle to write 😅

Between that and just general ~adult life~ fun times (job has been stupid, but now I've committed to finding a new one so that's given a lot of relief, after a couple other med changes for the Mental Illness I'm finally finally feeling better) I haven't been able to progress

However! I do have.......... a lot of other stuff written (both for james/Leon and me falling down the rabbit hole of wesker/Birkin and intertwining everyone between SH and RE) that hopefully once I get through this slump I'll have a little bit of backlog (tbh getting this ask has kinda motivated me to wanting to try and work on this :) )

I also literally have an entire sketchbook full of drawings and have been drawing Entire Group Nonsense that I can hopefully post? I won't promise because it's annoying to scan stuff lol so maybe I'll take some pictures if that's something you'd want to see too (I do have some stuff on here already that went to the drawings on ao3)
