HOLY SHIT HERE WE GO !!!! somewhat world building dump as the prologue.

Chapter one will be longer and in parts, and will involve exploring Link's current life, more world building, and also !! HIS DAD !!

more rambling below;

So in case it wasn't obvious the whole "you'll die if the gem is broken" isn't TECHNICALLY true. no one's ever actually had the gem break while bound to it, so the thought that you'll die is just an assumption based on like... well. YOUR SOUL IS IN THAT. and it's been passed down as fact rather than theory.

the gem will get broken at the end of chapter one, leading to Link's soul being torn into four pieces. This technically kills Link which is why I do want to spend time going over his current place in life in chapter 1 before the DeathTM :3

also worth noting; they're young adults ! Link has no plans to go to college and is kind of a mess right now, Zelda rather than being any kind of princess is from a family with spiritual importance- ofc being taking care of the force gem. it's been a while since a hero had to be chosen !!

also, all the maidens are being given actual names, chosen after gemstones instead of colours because like,,, I mean, blue maiden is the most important one here, I can't really call her Blue lol.

I DUNNO HOW FAST UPDATES WILL BE, I wanna be careful to not burn myself out, so we'll see how it goes :3 I might post 3 or so pages at once per update instead of 9 each time aha;;

consider this some exposition combined with experimenting with the comic process because this is the first time I've actually finished a comic that's longer than 1 page and it probably shows. Twin Drills, a femme who originally thought her very conjunx was dead, is a sophisticated spy, mother and autobot. She's the leader of a groupo of underground autobots known as "Elysium" Twin Drills was only days pregnant when her husband was taken from her by decepticons. Their child that she raised, Melting Point, was raised with his values in mind. She had to go from soldier to spy just to get hours to spend with her daughter. Then by a bizarre twist of fate she landed on earth and found her conjunx alive, Blackout. At first she didn’t believe it but once she was fully convinced it was him, she was the most overjoyed femme in the universe. Posh but polite and kind, twin Drills originally was a teacher for a major university in Iacon. She studied Criminal psychology before earning a doctorate and becoming a teacher. She’s always open to new information and up to date things but does get frustrated when things don’t go as planned. She is also known to have a slight temper but she’s never thrown a tantrum. Neither has Melting point, affectionately named Mel. Mel is a prodigy organist who loves to play her music. Twin Drills and Blackout later took in Brakelight, an unfortunate human who turned cybertronian. Brakelight, originally named blair, Is very interested in the rivers and the wildlife they hold. There are rumors spreading that the family is underworld gods reincarnated. Twin Drills is Persephone, Blackout is Hades, Mel is Melinoe, and Brakelight is Styx. Twin Drills has a condition known as Tritanomoly, the blue cones in her optics malfunction and she doesn't see colours as bright.

TDC/SU AU: The Skeksis and Gelfling

(Note, this is not hyper accurate to SU lore. Just vibe with it y’all.)

Thra is a planet under the rule of Algodonite, the Empress of the Metamorphic Court. 

A result of failed experimentation by Homeworld. The original goal was to split a group of lesser Diamonds to clone them. However, this resulted in the loss of 18 natural Diamonds. They each split into two distinct Gems, none of which mirrored their former glory. Fusion is required to return to their previous state, but the Metamorphic Gems stubbornly refuse. They believe they are the stronger half, fooling themselves into thinking they can become Diamonds without Fusion.

Their counterparts are the Prism Gems. Lead by Shell Agate the Mistress.

While most are still withdrawn, a few of the Prism Gems have reached out to work with the humans that have broken away from the rule of the Metamorphic Court. While they cannot change what their species has done, they feel they need to help save the planet they had a hand in destroying.

Currently, three humans are also considered honorary Prisms.

Rian was born into a long line of guards that served the Metamorphic Court. He accidentally witnessed the Court he protected as they carried out an experiment on his beloved Mira. They were trying to see if a human soul could fill the void left by the Division. While it seems to work temporarily, it doesn’t last forever and kills the human in the process. While this fact doesn’t deter the Court, it sets Rian on his quest to save his planet.

Brea is from a royal bloodline, appointed by the Court to govern the other humans in their stead. She’s deeply curious by nature, and has a thirst for knowledge. This is what leads her to question the Court’s intentions. After seeing a horrible event where members of her people were forced to hand over family heirlooms, she sought the truth. What use are human artifacts to a Gem? These thoughts lead her to a strange, semi-sentient creature by the name of Dolerite. With their help, she joins the Prism’s in their quest to save Thra.

Deethra, also known as Deet, is from a small group of humans that live in a former Kindergarten. She’s deeply in tune with the natural world, often tasked with feeding the farm animals that sustain her remote village. After being attacked by a rampaging bull, Deet woke at the base of the Sanctuary Tree. A living database of Homeworld history, with full sentience. It’s unclear why the Great Trees are aiding the Prism Rebellion. Some think the Trees know they will die along with Thra if the Court is allowed to continue. The Sanctuary Tree gifts Deet with a vision of the future, and sets her on her path to join the Rebellion. Along the way, she befriends a Pebble that goes by Hup. While technically a Gem, Pebbles are treated like slaves. Hup escaped, and she intends to do whatever it takes to help save Thra.

A being by the name of Aughra is now organizing the Rebellion…in her own strange way. She seems to be a physical representation of Thra itself.

Chronologically, this happens at a time when the lunarians were still restored taken gems to try to recruit. Given the lunar spy technology, there were special hopes for Lin. After a while, the former headman returns for Johachidolite; they have to figure out how to cheat the lunarians to save their lives, take revenge on Hell, and try to change the future.

SDC Month - December 2022 - Sunday #2

Today, we're once more looking at a canon House's family tree and any additions/changes made to it in the context of fanon. Can you guess which one will be featuring this time?

House Suth

Yes, this seemed like the next logical option given the family ties to the Imagos, so here we go. As before, here is our visual aid of a copy of the canon tree with some useful numbers added. It does look quite... tiny compared to the Imago one, doesn't it?

As in the Imago case, any God Emperors added to the side of the tree and any characters who are sufficiently developed in canon (and have canonical given names and birth and/or death dates) are excluded from this numbering. This said:

This Ruling Lord, Sardian's great-grandfather, is named Aventurian (from aventurine) in fanon.

Aventurian's wife is Eudial (named after the Sailor Moon character of that name, and indirectly after eudialyte, seeing as said character is named after this mineral in the first place) and she is from the fanon House Irika. @suth-sardian​ and I have her as being born in -131/21 Qusaqanya and dying in -51/46 Qusata.

Aventurian and Eudial's son/Sardian’s grandfather is Chalcedon (from chalcedony).

Chalcedon's wife Imago Tourmaline we already talked about in last week's post, but just a reminder that in fanon she was born in -93/4 Qusata and not -90/7 Qusata. Again, her date of death did remain unchanged (so she got to live even longer, the lucky lady).

Brin and Fey's mother is named Nettle (from the plant(s) of that name).

Crail's mother is named Thistle (again, from the plant of the same name).

Chalcedon and Tourmaline's son/Sardian's father is named Helian (from heliotrope).

Grane's mother is named Harrow (after the farming tool of the same name). Since she is specifically stated to be have originally been from the household and not the flesh tithe, @suth-sardian​ and I decided that she would be a marumaga half-sister of third lineage lords Berillus and Onyxor (who, yes, are brothers in our fanon, even if their canon family ties are unknown).

Helian and Urquentha's daughter/Sardian's sister is named Ruby (after, well, you can guess).

Spinel's wife/Opalid's mother is named Linarie (from linarite) and is from the fanon House Evitas. She was born in -46/51 Qusata, so yes, in fanon she would still be around by the time the canon series is set. Since her blood-taint is actually the exact same as Urquentha's (if expressed differently), we decided they would be double first cousins: Urquentha's father would be the full brother of Linarie's mother, and Urquentha's mother the full sister of Linarie's father.

Extra notes: Even if this has now been briefly mentioned once in my blog, I thought it was worth adding that in fanon, Urquentha's House of birth is (the fanon) House Emiko. It seemed relevant enough to bring up, just not enough to number her solely due to this one piece of information.
