I've just finished Line of Duty's second season and I must admit that Lindsay Denton's character fascinates me! She has it all: incredibly smart, cat lover, morally gray but willing to make criminals pay for their crimes. I don't understand the lack of content about her, so let's remedy it!
How about a somewhat inexperienced young cop who awakens a special tenderness in Lindsay after discovering that she also plays the piano? And is great at it🤩

rewatching line of duty slowly and god… i am SO UNNORMAL about lindsay denton. she is THE unlikeable woman: single, cat lady, lives alone, doesn’t wear makeup, snitches on her male colleagues, puts women first, unapologetic… and that’s what’s SO fucking good about her. she lies, manipulates and schemes, physically assaults people, attempts murder, and every single damn scene she’s in you leave with a different impression of her, you don’t trust her, one episode you love her the next you hate her… and god, the way she gets close to people, makes them uncomfortable, asks them for their darkest secrets… she is the character EVER. and the fact she became corrupt to take revenge on pedophiles and help protect children and her final action before she’s killed is her doing the very same thing… god. i love her so much

okok so I’ve seen some stuff abt denton/katherine recently n I wanna say my opinion 🥰 I don’t think any of this is gonna be offensive or anything, but if u do get offended pls don’t like,,,get mad n yell at me just tell me why/explain why it was offensive n I’ll totally fix it!
OK SO 😻 I absolutely adore kath, like honestly she’s amazing, and although definitely not one of my favourites (nothing against her btw but my love for all lf the newsboys is crazy so anyone who isn’t them is automatically lower down 😭) and I’m glad she’s a character we were introduced to! I know we got sarah in 92sies, but realistically I do think katherine fits in with the story sm better, not only keeping the idea of a love interest for jack but also actually giving us a female character that actually plays a big part plot wise, and (no offence to sarah 😭) is actually important to the story n has character
When I first watched newsies I didn’t rlly like katherine (but to be completely honest it’s just cuz it was her getting to be with Jeremy Jordan not me 😔💔) but when I was able to get over the fact that she was living my dream, she grew on me for sure! She’s so silly n Kara plays her so well! Also, the fact that we at least get one female character who actually works with the newsies is awesome considering yk,,female newsies existed 😻 (gonna be totally honest Ik nothing abt the actual strike 😕)
That being said, I still think Dentons existence should at least be acknowledged yk 😭❓ Take writing fanfics for example, I’m aware most people write abt the musical, meaning denton isn’t actually in it, which I totally get! Whilst I do like denton, I (as well as most people probably) prefer katherine, but I still definitely enjoy reading or watching stuff abt him, as I can still appreciate that he was the original reporter character, and some people prefer the movie or have only watched the movie, meaning they may like him more as that’s what they’re used to! I absolutely understand liking denton, however saying that katherine is sub par, and saying the fact she is a woman is historically inaccurate is ridiculous 💀 (and that’s saying smth coming from me, considering I know absolutely nothing abt the actual strike n even I know thats wrong 😭) Katherine is a great character, and she doesn’t have to be your favourite to see that! So anyone hating on her or just straight up being an asshole by saying some completely inaccurate and frankly pretty fucking offensive stuff, pls kindly fuck off 🥰 Katherine absolutely does not have to be your favourite character, and you don’t have to prefer her over denton, you just need to be able to share ur opinion without being a dick and not talk absolutely bs!
Thanks for reading my kinda confusing (Idk if it made sense) opinion if u got to the end 😋🫶

Discharge Petition for H.R. 7152, the Civil Rights Act of 1964
Record Group 233: Records of the U.S. House of RepresentativesSeries: General Records
This item, H.R. 7152, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, faced strong opposition in the House Rules Committee. Howard Smith, Chairman of the committee, refused to schedule hearings for the bill. Emanuel Celler, Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, attempted to use this discharge petition to move the bill out of committee without holding hearings. The petition failed to gain the required majority of Congress (218 signatures), but forced Chairman Smith to schedule hearings.
88th CONGRESS. House of Representatives No. 5 Motion to Discharge a Committee from the Consideration of a RESOLUTION (State whether bill, joint resolution, or resolution) December 9, 1963 To the Clerk of the House of Representatives: Pursuant to Clause 4 of Rule XXVII (see rule on page 7), I EMANUEL CELLER (Name of Member), move to discharge to the Commitee on RULES (Committee) from the consideration of the RESOLUTION; H. Res. 574 entitled, a RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE CONSIDERATION OF THE BILL (H. R. 7152) which was referred to said committee November 27, 1963 in support of which motion the undersigned Members of the House of Representatives affix their signatures, to wit: 1. Emanuel Celler 2. Tonight, I’m going to review the 2012 Broadwaysies bootleg. This version has Ryan Breslin as Racetrack and an adorable Matthew Schechter as Les Jacobs!
My thoughts:
First up, everything wrong with Broadwaysies
As much as I wish I could like Broadwaysies, it’s the same thing as Livesies, just without “Letter From the Refuge”.
Jeremy’s version of Jack keeps pissing me off. He makes Jack more angry, and the way he interacted with Katherine was so toxic. Ugh!
Also, he didn’t have that much chemistry with any of the other newsies.
Andrew Keenan Bolger is more naive as Crutchie than Marty Belafsky!
All of the lyric changes were very unnecessary.
I’m not a fan of Kara Lindsay as Katherine. Don’t get me wrong, she’s a great actress, but she makes Katherine look like a scatterbrain.
Next up, everything great about Broadwaysies:
Ben Fankhauser is amazing as Davey! He just brings out the energy whenever he shows up, especially in King of New York.
Little Matthew Schechter is a cutie pie as Les Jacobs! He brings the role of Les to another level by making Les spunkier, but still keeps the sweetness and innocence!
I would rank Matthew in second place after Luke Edwards and before Lewis Grosso. It’s a refreshing break after seeing Livesies with Ethan Steiner (groan)!
The way I see it, Luke does a sweet and innocent Les, Matthew and Lewis do spunky and sassy Leses, but Ethan does an obnoxious Les!
Ryan Breslin is pretty good as Racetrack, but he lacks the charisma that Max Casella has in 92sies. He’s still better than Ben Tyler Cook, as the latter made Racetrack seem like an idiot!
There was more dancing and that is another thing I like about the musical!
I still would’ve kept Sarah and Denton, giving them bigger roles!
So overall, Broadwaysies is a mixed bag. I would rank it second after 92sies, and before Livesies!

I know there are people missing but I made myself laugh re-reading it. Maybe I should remake it to be higher quality.
