Everyone Ignore me the Russian armory I got all my references from deactivated and I’m sad
(everyone as in except @pebbltree. I hope these refs are helpful :D Usually I use them as a basis to do more specific searches, like mongolian archer armor or the different types of chainmail or those weird wasp-waist european ones)

I visited Stockholm recently and oh, I just adored it. The changing of the guard got me off guard (lol) at the Tre Kronor castle, but hey the guard in question was a hot young woman so it wasn’t a bad time (I’m also a pacifist who despite that drools over hot women in uniform). The museum that’s inside the castle that has a bunch of cool historical clothing worn by royals, Livrustkammaren, is amazing. Many of clothes are actually very historically significant and have been stored SO WELL. Like the outfit Gustav the third was assasinated? Yeah that’s there. The cloth in which Gustav II Adolf’s heart was held in his by his wife? Yeah there with the original 300+ year old blood stains. Queen Kristina’s coronation cape, there. I could go on and on but man that museum was amazing.
I'm glad you had a good time! I visited back in 2015 for Carl Philip and Sofia's wedding. We were just there for a long weekend and obviously had a lot of other things going on so we didn't manage to go to any of the castles or anything but I hope to go back again some time and see everything properly. I've seen a few documentaries looking at how they manage everything in Sweden and they really are incredibly good at conserving historical pieces. Even just the modern dresses are all perfectly preserved in long boxes (so they can't be folded) with acid free tissue paper lining (to stop damage to the fabric). They have warehouses in secret locations full of priceless items, all perfectly labelled and categorised. They said in the recent documentary that they have records of everything that was ordered in the past so if they want to upholster a chair they can look up the precise manufacturer in Italy in the 19th century and know everything about it.

livrustkammaren: Gustav Adolfsdagen is a theme day celebrated on November 6 in memory of King Gustav II Adolf's death in 1632 and is general flag day in Sweden and Finland. King Gustav II Adolf died in the Battle of Lützen, which occurred on November 6, according to the Julian calendar. According to the Gregorian calendar, the date was November 16, but that calendar only began to be used in Sweden in 1753. The day has been officially marked since the beginning of the 19th century.
