“NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP!”

Legend freezes, halfway through dressing. Ravio has a nasty habit of breaking into song around him. Normally, that wouldn’t be a problem; satin bowerbird courtship relies more heavily on song.

“NEVER GONNA LET YOU DOWN!”

It’s just…why does it have to be this song? Where the merchant heard it is a mystery, but now he sings it at every opportunity.

“NEVER GONNA RUN AROUND—“

“Ravio, I’m busy!”

“AND DESERT YOU!” A pause. Then, in a lower volume, “I thought you liked my singing?”

“Not when I’m trying to get ready! Not while taking a bath! Not when writing a letter! Or any of the other hundred times you’ve decided to annoy me.” Legend is at the end of his feathers on patience. His flockmate seems to take a sadistic interest in the same Hylia-damned song. Over. And over. And over.

“NEVER GONNA SAY GOODBYE!”

Legend screams into his feathers.

Ravio continues down the hall, still belting out the song.

I’ve been wondering which of our Sky’s has bigger wings 🤔

Hmmmmmmmm I had to do some research for this one!

Looking at your art (which is AMAZING, by the way), I think that their wingspans are pretty similar. But it looks like my Sky has fuller wings! So… wider? Longer feathers!

Your Sky is based off of a frigate bird, which the internet told me has around a 7.5 foot wingspan. (I did a double take! That’s HUGE!!) My Sky is a fusion between a Loftwing (Shoebill stork) and a Skyloftian (person). The internet told me that a shoebill stork’s wingspan can get up to 8.5 feet long! Which is longer than the frigate bird but NOT if we account for the ratio of body to wing. Frigate birds legitimately look like if a child drew an “m” on a paper to represent birds. They’re like 90% wing and I love them for that.

So. If we took these proportions and sized them up to fit onto a person, I think, realistically, your Sky would have bigger wings than mine. Longer. Mine would still have fuller wings, though. The way that we draw their wings is very similar in length, like if they both represented the wingspan alone. But if we account for the proportions of body size to wing?? Yours would be HUGE in comparison to mine!

Veteran's wings turned out to be similar to the color of the sky island's grass,so i made Wild drop off a poe for safe keeping and color difference

Also second time i drew Leg sitting on an edge of a sky island,lmao

This was started in October,so Traveler got a pumpkin lamp

ever since my friend introduced me to the “Birds of a feather” LU AU, i decided to make a version of Glim as a bird boy, and to look more hylian. under obligatory demand, [help i was held at gunpoint/j] he is a loftwing, a tiny boy. cause he is shmol. baby boy. also when he was thrown into the universe, his cape turned into wings, and he doesn’t know how wings work so he can’t fly now. also he doesn’t know what preening is lmao. all he knows is his wings are itchy cause of weird feathers and stuff.

Part 5 of the Linked Universe Winged Au! In the last poll you guys all voted for him so here he is, Wild!

As always, there has to be a silly little bird fact to start off with so did you know that the American Kestrel is the smallest falcon in North America and only weighs about 3-6 ounces which is the equivalent of 34 pennies? This fact isn't actually important lore wise for this headcanon, but it did remind me of the one post where someone discovered that BoTW Link weighs approximately 8.5 apples.

Anyways, as you may have guessed, Wild is heavily based on the American Kestrel because of their beautiful plumage and their unique behaviors and characteristics.

An example of one of these behaviors is that American Kestrels are known for capitalizing on favorable soaring conditions, such as mountain updrafts and thermals while traveling. In this headcanon, Wild shows this characteristic primarily through his use of Revali's Gale and his tendency to make fires in order to more easily take flight. While his methods are incredibly effective, they do also tend to scare the rest of the group the first time he does them. After all, it's not everyday you see someone make a fire and then run headfirst into it just to take off.

While this specific habit of his may appear to just be a funny little quirk that he just does because he's WILD, it's actually a result of his near death experience with Guardians. The scars on his face and body may be clearly visible to everyone around him, but the damage done to his wings is actually far less noticeable. His various injuries and scars actually have a major impact on his ability to take off and effect his stamina needed to maintain flight for long periods of time. Because of this, he tends to use the aforementioned methods to aid his flight or oftentimes simply chooses to leap off high surfaces and glide rather than attempt to take flight.

However, despite having difficulties with the initial takeoff and his struggles to maintain flight for long periods of time, he's actually very adept and capable of fighting in the air. The way he fights allows him to deliver sharp, agile, and accurate killing blows to his enemies in a way that others describe as, "Witnessing time seemingly slowing down for everyone but him." In other words, he's a real force to be reckoned in once he's finally airborne.
