so i managed to actually come up with a functional plot for the merlin meets the ninth doctor fic AND started mentally planning the direction of the sequel (doctor and rose go to camelot) but now im so absorbed with wanting to see more of ten that i doubt either of those will actually be written for a while. rip
also man if i can just complain for a sec,,, proper characterization is HARD. why is it so hard. i have a good idea of how the two characters should interact when brainstorming but then i go to actually WRITE it and its like who are you. how do i do this. what
okay thats all goodnight (it is 1 in the afternoon)
once again we go to the goncharov school of writing (endless analysis zero source material), just take good care of that idea in your mind and when you’re ready put it out! and yeah characterization is a BITCH you’ll think you know a character like the back of your hand but then it’s “wait would you say that is that normal for you uhhhhh”
I tried the DTIYS magpie version.
You can find the original one HERE if you wanna try it too!

while I'm here, i will post my beloved magpie! I've gotten to play her for a long while now, going on nearly 2 years i think! some rambling under the cut bc i like her u_u ♡
magpie's a rogue/archfey warlock whose patron is a noble of the winter court called "the lady of fallen snow." it's a tiny bit funny- her favorite seasons were always spring and summer. though, the stinging cold doesn't seem to bother her as much lately. maybe winter's been growing on her.
she used to like to collect little trinkets and odds n ends, but lately she's been a bit busy with the ramifications of their party's actions and whatnot.
another thing she used to be was silly and reckless, more concerned broadly with having fun than things like rules or consequences. one of her guiding philosophies used to be that there wasn't any sort of trouble she couldn't get herself out of. that was easy enough to say when she was the only one affected by her troublemaking. not so much when she has friends she cares about and their blinding optimism has landed them in mortal danger more than a few times.
being responsible and practical isn't necessarily her strong suit, but she's been giving it her most honest try.
Surprising absolutely no one on the planet I finally caved and got bg3, and am enjoying the shit out of it so far. Here's my darling little blue dragonborn rogue with too much weird junk in their pockets at all times, Adder :)
After going on that Ted Talk about my fun with implementing more shape language to FEH character designs, I thought it'd be cool if I provided clearer examples of me doing so! And also reveal my bias towards drawing Anna because WOW girly stupid easy for me. No thoughts. Head empty. Got her perfect first try. Which is a godsent when I typically gotta redraw Alfonse's hair 30 times before I land on something I like and this time was NO EXCEPTION. She is simply a treat and gives me happy chemical. They all do. It's why I draw em.
On that note, this drawing ain't the gospel I live by. It ain't a character sheet by any means. This is mostly an experiment for fun! I'm constantly tweaking as I get more familiar with their shapes and commit more of their design to muscle memory.
