Margaret Rutherford (Blithe Spirit, The Importance of Being Earnest, the 60s Miss Marple films)—Margaret Rutherford was a fantastic comic actress who also serves as an inspiration to anyone who feels they’re too old to pursue their dreams - she didn’t start acting professionally until her Kate 40s, but was eventually made a Dame!! Queen of oddball female characters, she is a delight to watch in every scene, and always has big lesbian energy. If you don’t think she’s hot you’re just being cowardly. Cathleen Nesbitt (An Affair to Remember, Separate Tables)—I'd always assumed she was French, given her wonderful performance in an affair to remember, but turns out she's English. So beautiful and fragile in ghat film. Her grace and humour are just wonderful. Just watched so long at the fair where she plays a scheming hotelier, and she rocks that too!! Was also in a stage production of Gigi with Audrey Hepburn!!!

Hello Canada. We are AbitofaChristie Podcast. Each episode we focus on one of the novels by the Queen of Crime, Dame Agatha Christie. We use this book to explore other topics raised in the story such as Crime Scene Investigation, acting, witchcraft, Dungeons & Dragons etc. If you fancy listening we can be found here:
As much as we all appreciate Murder, She Wrote, I feel there needs to be a resurgence of appreciation for Murder, She Said (1961), the first of four Miss Marple films starring Margaret Rutherford.
The title for Murder, She Wrote is obviously a reference to the film, and Miss Marple was the archetype of which Jessica Fletcher was based.
Martita Hunt (Great Expectations, Anastasia)—The original Miss Havisham - hot mad old lady for the win!

Margaret Rutherford and Agatha Christie. Rutherford portrayed Christie’s Miss Marple in four movies between 1961 and 1964. While not a fan of the Marple movies, Christie dedicated “The Mirror Crack'd from Side to Side” in 1962, "To Margaret Rutherford, in admiration."
She has written an amazing insight into the medics who feature in all 66 Agatha Chrisite 'Who done its'.
This exciting book has been extensively researched and created with a passion that only a true fan of Christie can give.
I'm so excited for it to be published, and Raye has plenty more exciting projects on the go and in the pipeline. Make sure you 'watch this space' for more news of the book and her interview.
I run a hobby podcast dedicated to Agatha Christie and if you are interested in my other episodes, you can find them here:
