saw someone tell people to read decolonisation academia in a post with a bad take that i don't wish to engage with, but it's funny telling people to learn about decolonisation from universities. Academia ime so far has been 'vague gestures that this land belongs to so and so people' or adding a text or two in the course from some not white author. would not recommend learning decolonisation from academia.

I love Galex as friends and enjoy reading their fics but is it just me who can't visualise them as lovers? They're so close it should be easy to see them as a romantic ship but Alex worships the ground the Lily walks on (as he should) so it kind of distracts me from the fantasy. Obviously real life relationships have no bearing on fictional ships but it's hard for me to picture them as a couple when they're both so happily in love, especially Alex. Is it just me or does anyone else feel the same?

I don’t read galex fics cause it just doesn’t work for me, but I’m a mono-shipper. I can’t really judge other ships bc I lock into one thing and really stick with it, I don’t read anything that’s not britcedes or gen.

I don’t like any George and Lewis ships that aren’t with each other*. I don’t even like sewis, do you know how much saying that makes me feel like I’m gonna get shot in this fandom? People are gonna ship stuff with no chemistry or all the chemistry in the world. I ship schuvesti, two guys that have BARELY met.

I think britcedes have a spark and fire that could burn for centuries and that it outruns more popular ships like sebchal by miles, but some people can’t stand it. I even have mutuals who don’t like it much (I will convert them, slowly, eventually). It’s also fine to have one ship turn you away from others, like dewis doesn’t work for me, not only bc gewis but also bc dantteri is RIGHT THERE, and incredible.

Additionally it’s also taken me a long time to vibe with Alex and I’m still very ginger, the way he talks about George doesn’t always mesh with me and my body positivity views, but if George loves him then George loves him, and I’m fond of him too. I do think he and Lily and hysterically funny and I enjoyed him on stream yesterday.
