“All of that aside - I think we oughta get to the heart of the matter, as it were.” Bill smirks, taking a single, ominous step closer.

Dipper nods. He swallows, throat bobbing, and ducks his head. 

Okay. Everything else has been kind of surface level. Now he must be moving on to deeper secrets. Things in Dipper’s head that have never seen the light of day. Or the ones that have, and Bill’s going to dig into them, deep, possibly painfully so -

“Why won't you talk to me?” Bill whines. There’s no other word for it. 

What?

Dipper nearly does a double take. Between the nasal tone and the look on his face, nearly a pout - Bill’s straight up sulking.

“Seriously, what are we looking at here?” Bill says, straightening up. He paces around Dipper in a circle, arms tucked behind his back. “Vow of silence? Cause I’m your god, and I say screw that! Pipe up anytime!”

Dipper shakes his head. No, if it was, he would have violated it a long time ago. It’s a weird guess.

It’s weird that Bill is guessing.

Michael J Fox not being jaded and resentful for being known for two roles he played in the 80s and just being appreciative of them is actually really nice. Sooo many actors, like a startling amount, would've just been like fuck Alex, fuck Marty! Let it go! But instead of that he's like no those two roles (+Louis Canning) meant the most to me, and it's just very nice to see

happy (by present-day standards) one hundred and fourth birthday to this old man right here!

i've never really nailed down a proper time for when i have doc's post-trilogy canon happening, it's always just x date post return to his present with the family. so i've been thinking about it and i needed something solid (for myself at least) to play off of with headcanons, with setting details, all that fun stuff.

so i think i'm leaning towards '87 or later. (of course this is all subject to change with whatever happens in a thread - i'm still totally open for him being wherever, whenever in his timeline).

so if his main default verse is set around 1987 or so, he's turning (chronologically) seventy-seven. officially, as far as the records are concerned, he's only sixty-seven this year.

Two years ago today, I completed the first story in the Time Circuits Series, Where You’re Going! It was so freeing and reaffirming that writing wasn’t something in my past anymore. I will always celebrate this milestone!

A little excerpt from the epilogue to celebrate 🥳 :

When Emma woke up, she could feel the sun on her aching shoulder and the tulle bunched beneath the sheets. The side of the wardrobe glowed in the morning light, and her eyes drifted to the white pumps discarded against the wall. Emma stared at the shoes as she sat up. Her throat went dry.

Of course it all happened. The shoes were proof, lying there on her bedroom floor. The most mundane and singularly exquisite proof that she had lived through possibly the most significant, successful science experiment ever conducted. She went to 1955. She went to 1955 and brought back a pair of shoes. And a dress.

And her father.

Emma ripped aside her quilt and leapt up.
