Does Minthe in Lore Rekindled have BPD?

Short answer: No, ish.

Long answer: This was something I grappled with a lot in the planning and writing stages of Rekindled because, like the SA plotline, there's a lot of good that could have been done in the way of doing justice by the plotlines that LO failed in representing and I do feel bad that I sort of pussied out of attempting it (and I understand if it's disappointing for those with BPD to hear that I'm not going to be tackling an actual BPD-focused plotline). I'm not necessarily opposed to Minthe having BPD, but I think there's more than enough in her character arc to focus on without mental illness even having to be considered as a "reason" or getting roped into her analysis as a character. The fact that she's a lower class nymph trapped in a financially-dependent relationship is already ripe for discussion and characterization; and on a more personal note, as someone who doesn't have BPD, I don't think there's anything productive that I could provide to the discussion surrounding BPD and how it's represented in media (aside from general bare minimum criticisms of how it SHOULDN'T be handled in works like LO in the general sense of "maybe don't write your evil other girl character with a highly stigmatized mental illness that you then retcon as soon as you realize you're not gonna do any justice by it?")

All that said, like the discussion and speculation regarding Kore having DID, Minthe may reflect characteristics of BPD that people with the disorder may relate to and empathize with, and to those people I say more power to you! At the end of the day regardless of whether or not they have mental disorders that they're grappling with, I want to ultimately flesh them more out as characters with deeper backstories than just their surface level tropes, and get back more to the core messaging that LO tried to tackle and failed at, much of which involves the discussion of feminism and how women are often roped into situations that are out of their control at the hands of powerful men. And I hope the nuances of those characterizations, even if they're not involved in the complete end result of the narrative, bring closure and satisfaction to the people who relate to them.

Venus in houses and how you might create your music

Hi again! Do you remember when I say that my previous post could be the last one? This was just a joke. Hahaha! Never mind, welcome to my second astrology observation about Venus! This time I'm going to write about how can you create your own music through Venus in houses from you natal charts. This observation might be great for someone who wants to be musician. This was supposed to be posted yesterday, but I was working on something else and I was too tired later on. This observation can apply for both western and vedic astrology. Again, if you resonate with this observation, take it. If it doesn't, leave it, this might be for someone else then. But nonetheless, enjoy it!

Venus in the 1st house: I think that you guys with this placement can be inspired about your own life while creating music. Of course, it all depends on your Rising sign/Ascendant. The 1st house represents our personality, body, self and our life path, so you might make music that is related to your overall life or that is tied to your persona. You may create all of the music on your own, 'cause 1st house is associated with being independent too, but it doesn't have to be the case for all of you. It seems to me that you can basically live your music or you already live music in general. Your discography could be your autobiography, period.

Venus in the 2nd house: You may value music a lot and you may prefer to make music that is valuable, since the 2nd house does represent values. The 2nd house is also related to the business and money, so you might have this business mindset when it comes to creating music or you can make the type of music that gives you money. I think this is a great placement to monetize your artistic abilities in general. Since the 2nd house also represents the throat, which is related to singing voice, I feel that people with this placement prioritize their vocals over anything. It reminds me of singers who just come to the studio and record already made song/demo, written and produced by someone else and I don't think that's a bad thing at all.

Venus in the 3rd house: This house rules over the communication and self-expression, which means that you can express yourself through the music easily. Your mind is very creative with this placement. You may focus on writing skills while making your own music. Lyrics are first, and then there's ten blank spaces. You might write really beautiful songs about your life circumstances, but it depends in which sign your 3rd house is placed. The 3rd house is also associated with siblings and neighbors, which tells that you can create music with your brother or sister or just with people who are close to you. This placement can also indicate having multiple inspirations or ways to create music or write lyrics, because the 3rd house is being ruled by Gemini which is an air, mutable and dual sign like I just said in my previous post.

Venus in the 4th house: You can create music in your own house, since 4th house is related to home or a place which is familiar to us. When it comes to making you own music, you might work with your family member, especially with your mother who can help you and teach you how to make/write music. You may also have an innate talent from one of your parent or from both parents. Maybe you create music when you feel like it, because the 4th house represents emotions, so you don't force yourself doing anything related to music when you lack motivation or ideas. You may wait for idea to come to you first and then you start making stuff. This placement can indicate practicing traditional/old school ways of making music too.

Venus in the 5th house: My God, this is just a fun and creative placement! Seriously, you should practice any kind of art you want everyday if you have this placement in your natal chart. You might use music as a hobby or have a lot of ideas out of nowhere, because the 5th house is one of the most creative houses in astrology and is related to the entertainment. You can turn your hobbies into a career, especially if your Venus is your 10th house/MC ruler. But when it comes to creating your own music, your way of doing that could be a joyful experience and you can really have a lot of fun while making the music, 'cause you might see the music as a hobby. You can also make music with children, since the 5th house in associated with children if you like children as well.

Venus in the 6th house: This placement might not indicate a great talent of music or anything art related, 'cause the 6th house does represent our daily routines, 9-5 jobs and doing something that we don't like to do. But it doesn't mean there's no good side of this placement. You can be a type of musician who practice writing or production almost every day, which makes sense because this house basically represents something we do everyday. The good part is because you practice creating music/art everyday, you can become a better artist than someone who has a natural ability to create music. You may also make music about working class, 'cause that's what 6th house is all about. If you have this placement in your natal chart, I encourage you to do something creative everyday, 'cause there's a potential for you to become skilled in this field.

Venus in the 7th house: Venus is all about love, while the 7th house is about team work and partnerships, so they work well together. I feel that the best way to create you own music is working with others/collaborating and just being a team worker in general. I'm not saying that you can't do anything on your own, but if you struggle with making your music independently, then you should engage other people. Thank me later. You can make art with you partner or be inspired by your partners, because the 7th house represents our partners and how you interact with other people. It could also mean that your partner is artistic and pushes you to create music with him, her or them. Overall, I think working with others can fulfill you somehow.

Venus in the 8th house: You may create your music when you feel intense emotions, such as grieve, sorrow, sadness etc. The process of making music might be challenging for you and you'll likely have to deal with ups and downs while creating your music, because the 8th house is one of the hardest houses in astrology to deal with and is basically associated with challenges in our life. This placement can also tell me that you're someone who lock the room and make/record the music in silence or in places where there's no many people. The 8th house is a very mysterious house, so it makes sense.

Venus in the 9th house: This house is about religion, luck, happiness etc. You may be inspired by the experience with you religion or with your overall life. Making music could be an adventurous process where you can expand your horizons. The 9th house also represents foreign land and higher education, which may indicate you collaborating with people from abroad or being inspired by international music from foreign culture. It can indicate you studying some form of artistic major too and that's where the association of the 9th house with the higher education comes.

Venus in the 10th house: If you have this placement, I want to tell you that you may be blessed when it comes to your career path (it depends on your Venus sign and its aspects, of course). You can basically make the whole career based on music with this placement. Your co-workers might be artistic and they might push you to navigate your talents and gifts as much as they can. The creating process of yours could be very professional and you may take that seriously. I feel that you might make the certain type of music that the general public expects to hear, because the 10th house is associated with reputation and how people perceive you.

Venus in the 11th house: This is another placement that can indicate you making music with the bunch of other people, especially with your friends, 'cause this house is about friendships, connections and networking. If you want to be a musician while having this placement in your natal chart, please find someone who can work with and share your artistic vision, because I don't think you can do everything on your own. I'll also encourage you to post your songs on any internet platforms if you can, because the 11th house represents internet and social media too. It seems to me that you may follow the music trends or even start the new one while creating your music. The 11th house is also associated with your finances and how can you make money, so you can make money with you music as well. Lucky you!

Venus in the 12th house: You're likely someone who is naturally talented in music or in any kind of art, but you mostly hide this side of you or you just make music in private and do everything by yourself. It's so sad if you hide you talents and gifts from anyone else, because I feel that you're so creative musically and you could make a good piece of art if you acknowledged your talents. I can also sense that you might create your music when you're emotionally in tune with yourself or when you have an adequate vision about how should the particular song sound. Hope that makes sense, lol.

Well, that's it! I really hope that you all can resonate with this observation. This is basically the second part of my astrology observation about Venus and to be honest, I got a little bit tired of Venus planet. So, if this astrology observation flop, I will not be surprised, haha lol. Overall, I hope you enjoyed it.

A while back, one of my mutuals on Twitter posted a get to know your Tav/Durge game, which I did for both Kiaran and Taviana. However, I realized I never shared it here, and I wanted to do so now!

1. Taviana- she/her, human Bard, Entertainer background, chaotic good alignment

Kiaran- he/him, half-Drow Ranger, Haunted One background, initially chaotic evil alignment, then chaotic neutral, then chaotic good

2. Taviana- she was grocery shopping for her family. The picture of normality (a recurring them in her and Astarion's story is that she is almost infuriatingly NORMAL aside from the tadpole).

Kiaran- the same as other Durges; he was experimented on by Kressa, then sent away by Magthew.

3. Taviana- I'm not very far into her playthrough, but it will be Astarion solo for canon. Noncanon may include Halsin and the Drow twins.

Kiaran- Halsin solomance. The Drow twins and Abdirak as flings, and pre-canon Gortash. Noncanon experimenting w/ Haarlep but it didn't work, which is why it's not canon.

4. Taviana- Astarion excluded, she's closest to Wyll, and she struggles with Lae'zel.

Kiaran- Halsin excluded, he's closest to Karlach, and struggles with Gale.

5. Taviana- not sure, since I haven't gotten far. Since I headcanon her and Kiaran both existing together, she likely would have lost Alfira or Quill as well, which would crush her, I think.

Kiaran- Alfira (though I might change this to Quill) and Lae'zel, though I don't consider the latter canon. He's indifferent at first, more worried about the fact that he killed in his sleep than the victim themself, but he is sad when he turns good later and starts to feel the empathy that was missing.

6. Taviana- Taviana convinces Astarion, who is a spawn, to live with her in Baldur's Gate while Astarion's 'siblings' care for the spawn in the Underdark.

Kiaran- Living with Halsin in his commune, and getting Halsin pregnant with TONS more Silverboughs.

7. Taviana- Yes! She has a huge, boring, normal family, and you best believe they pester her and Astarion to come over for weekend dinners. Hilarity ensues. She is infuriatingly normal and Astarion doesn't know how to react.

Kiaran- no :( But I do have a fic planned of him trying to resurrect his foster family and trying to make amends.

8. Taviana- She loves using Bardic Inspiration to help heal and reenergize her teammates. She doesn't enjoy fighting, so getting to help in other ways cheers her up.

Kiaran- He loves using his abilities as a Ranger against their enemies. He feels alive, like he's indulging his animalistic Dark Urge instincts without harming an innocent. It's something Halsin can relate to well.

9. Taviana- Helping Astarion kill Cazador but convincing him to stay a spawn, finally showing him that he can be something entirely undefined by Cazador. That was the moment she knew Astarion had finally found himself.

Kiaran- Resisting Bhaal and freeing himself of his Urge once and for all, finally being able to rest easy with the knowledge he would never harm Halsin.

10. Taviana- She loves purple, so anything purple makes her happy as a clam!

Kiaran- Not really. Kiaran dresses for comfort and utility, like Halsin, so as long as he has something practical, he's set.

11. Taviana- she loved returning to Baldur's Gate because it brought her closer to her family, though she ultimately decided not to reach out to them until after the brain. (She was afraid of scaring her little siblings.)

Kiaran- He loved the Shadow-Cursed Lands, not for what it was obviously, but for what happened there, because he got to help Halsin save Thaniel and Oliver and cure the land.

12. Taviana- Never considered it. She may be innocent but she knows enough to know the house always wins.

Kiaran- VERY briefly considered it, but came back to his senses soon enough to realize whatever Raphael was offering, they could accomplish themselves.

13. Taviana- Her family are all Lathanderites. She isn't quite as devout as them, but definitely considers him her main deity.

Kiaran- Not devoutly, though he does pray to Mielikki before/during missions as a Ranger, and becomes Jergal's Chosen during/after canon. He starts to see the importance of some of Jergal's goals, such as recording the names of the dead (this is how he learns who he killed so he can remember them, after all) but doesn't devote himself enough to be truly called a worshipper. But old Withers is rather over it by that point, so he doesn't really ask much more from Kiaran aside from doing what he can to remember the dead.

14. Taviana- Living with her family in Baldur's Gate, figuring herself out as a Bard. She was close to lining up a few gigs, but nothing big enough to distinguish herself.

Kiaran- Murderhobo Durgey stuff, using his Ranger abilities to kill more effectively.

15. Taviana- Alfira/Quill, and Milil in the epilogue, of course!

Kiaran- Oliver. He understood Oliver almost perfectly, and was able to use that to persuade him to return to Thaniel.

Between the Laps

a/n never did an f1 fic before and this may not convey things properly

The sound of engines roaring filled the paddock as the Monaco Grand Prix was in full swing. The crowd's cheers echoed through the streets, their excitement palpable. Amidst the chaos and thrill of the race, the stories of Carlos Sainz Jr. and (Y/N) (L/N) intertwined in a blend of fluff and angst that transcended the boundaries of the track.

Chapter 1: A Chance Encounter

Carlos Sainz Jr. had always loved Monaco. The narrow streets, the glamorous yachts, and the undeniable challenge of the circuit made it his favorite. But this year, something felt different. As he walked through the paddock, he noticed (Y/N) (L/N), a new engineer on his team, standing by his car, staring intently at the data on her tablet.

(Y/N) was new to the team, and though they had exchanged pleasantries, Carlos felt a strange pull towards her. It was as if there was something more beneath the surface, something unspoken.

"Hey, (Y/N)," Carlos greeted, trying to sound casual.

(Y/N) looked up, her eyes meeting his with a warm smile. "Hi, Carlos. How's it going?"

"Good, good. Just thought I'd see how you're settling in."

(Y/N) nodded, her gaze returning to the tablet. "It's a bit overwhelming, but I'm getting there. Everyone's been really helpful."

Carlos smiled, sensing the hint of vulnerability in her voice. "If you ever need anything, or just want to talk, you know where to find me."

(Y/N) looked up again, her eyes filled with gratitude. "Thanks, Carlos. I appreciate it."

The paddock was a bustling place, filled with team members, journalists, and fans all mingling in the pre-race frenzy. Carlos found himself watching (Y/N) more than he intended to. She was efficient, focused, and seemed to have an innate understanding of the car's mechanics. He admired her dedication and passion for her work.

Days turned into weeks, and Carlos and (Y/N) found themselves crossing paths frequently. Their conversations grew longer, moving from work-related topics to personal stories. They discovered a mutual love for Spanish cuisine, a shared interest in hiking, and a surprising knack for late-night philosophical debates.

One evening, after a particularly grueling day at the track, Carlos and (Y/N) found themselves alone in the team garage. The sun had set, casting long shadows over the paddock. The sounds of the day had faded, leaving a peaceful silence in their wake.

Carlos leaned against his car, watching as (Y/N) meticulously checked the tire pressure. "You know, I've been meaning to ask you something," he said, breaking the silence.

(Y/N) looked up, curiosity in her eyes. "What is it?"

"Why engineering?" Carlos asked. "What drew you to this field?"

(Y/N) smiled, a distant look in her eyes. "When I was a kid, I used to take apart anything I could get my hands on—radios, clocks, even my dad's old car. I loved figuring out how things worked. My parents encouraged me to pursue my passion, and I ended up studying mechanical engineering. Formula One was a natural fit for me. The challenge, the speed, the precision—it all excites me."

Carlos nodded, impressed. "That's incredible. It takes a lot of dedication and passion to make it in this sport."

(Y/N) shrugged modestly. "I just love what I do. And being part of a team like this, working with people who share that passion—it's a dream come true."

Carlos's admiration for (Y/N) grew with each passing day. He found himself looking forward to their conversations, to the moments when they could steal away from the chaos of the track and just be themselves.

An Extra Step

Eddie Munson x Bilingual! GN Reader

AN: Heyo! So, I was randomly inspired to write this little blurb. I'm sorry for being AWOL so much, grad school has been kicking my ass. I promise to update my current WIPs as soon as I can. Anyways, this is based on myself being bilingual :) In the blue text is when the other language is spoken. I kept it vague and not specific so that other people who may be bilingual or have English as a second language could relate.

CW: mentions of food, mentions of family, mentions of childhood, no gender mentioned, pet names, kissing, emotional, fluffy

It started as a tiny thing, a little nudge from deep within. It was a warm summer day in Hawkins, you and Eddie relaxing in the trailer. Wayne had given you two your own trailer (right next to him, of course), and you had a jar on the table, coins and dollar bills stacked up in it, determined to get your own place one day together. Preferably a house or apartment, but that was a worry for later. You and Eddie were lounging about, you perched at the kitchen while Eddie was sprawled out on the sofa, attempting to cool off. You leaned against the counter, reading a postcard you’d received from a family member. You giggled at the message they wrote, peaking Eddie’s interest. He smiled, turning to you, sitting up a bit.

“What’s so funny, babe?,” He asked, cocking his head in that golden retriever way, his eyes curious.

You bit your lip, unsure how to explain. “Uh well… my cousin wrote me a postcard,” You explained, shrugging.

Eddie walked over, looking over your shoulder at the note before he deflated a litte. “Oh. It’s not in English,” He stated, a bit disappointed.

You nodded, biting your lip, thinking. You explained the joke briefly, giggling while doing so, but Eddie’s eyebrows furrowed and you felt your heart sink a bit.

You never told Eddie, but sometimes you felt like you lost yourself little by little without your first language. Jokes translated incorrectly, you were unable to express certain things in English, and you felt like a part of yourself was dimmed. You wished Eddie could understand your family and even your own moments of frustration, when that little piece of you slipped out, only for him to look a bit confused.

You shook your head, smiling awkwardly, and putting up the letter. “Nevermind…It’s not as funny in English.” You put up the card, taking Eddie’s hand over to the couch. “C’mon. Let’s watch a movie.”

Eddie could see the pain in your eyes when he didn’t understand your native tongue. He felt his heart squeeze each time, cursing himself for not learning it the moment he learned you had another piece to your puzzle.

Which was what prompted the secret research.

Fuck, Eddie had never even studied for school exams this hard.

He started his search at the library, asking around and trying to see if there were any classes nearby. He learned there were some lessons and books around, though they had to be ordered and the meetings were three towns over. But anything to see you smile.

Eddie poured over the books, kept a secret journal with all his notes from the clubs he attended (which truly were just people who spoke the language getting together to talk and exchange snacks, some of the older ladies pinching Eddie’s cheeks and smiling over at him.).

He knew you were suspicious, consistently glancing over at him confused when he would show up from the meeting late in the night, lying to say it was extra work hours.

He poured over cassettes you had in your native tongue when you weren't home, learning the lyrics to your favorite songs.

Hell, he even began trying to think in the language. (Easier said than done, he had no idea how you balanced the two)

But it was all worth it for that night.

Eddie had taken the day off, gone to the international grocery store that was miles away, only to drive back, and begin prepping. He was making a meal he remembered you saying you missed, something near and dear to your heart and childhood. He knew it would take a bit of prep work and sweat, but Eddie was willing.

He grinned to himself, heart swelling with pride.

He couldn’t wait.

When you walked through the door that night, you felt your heart stop. Familiar smells that you hadn’t smelled in years floated through the kitchen, your heart racing. You heard Eddie singing along softly in the kitchen, your native tongue clumsy on his lips, but making your heart swell, your eyes water a bit.

“E-Eddie? What’s all this?,” You asked cautiously, eyebrows furrowed, eyes watering and blurring your vision.

“It’s your favorite…I figured you deserved a treat!,” He replied…in your language. It was clumsy, the pronunciation not perfect. But your breath caught nonetheless.

“You did all this…for me?,” You whispered, clutching tightly at your heart as tears rolled down your cheeks.

Eddie smiled softly, walking over, softly running a finger under your chin to look up at him. “Of course. I love you,” He whispered back, his voice thick with emotion.

Tears streamed down your face, vision blurred as you threw your arms around his neck, crying into his shoulder, your heart overflowing with emotions, your hands clutching at him. You whispered ‘I love you’ over and over, sobs racking your shoulders as Eddie held you, rubbing your back, kissing the top of your head. It meant the world to finally hear those words in your tongue and being able to whisper it back.

That night was filled with warm and full bellies, laughter and leading Eddie through pronunciation, learning of his secret little escapades (So that’s why he hadn’t been as hungry! Those little grandmas were stuffing him with food…) and showering Eddie with kisses.

Never in your life had you felt so seen and loved.

Eddie Munson was it for you.

LIFE UPDATES:

i graduated from my previous college magna cum laude and im moving on to another school now :D i got a really really good private scholarship too! i've also decided to minor in creative writing so, safe to say i'm probably gonna be writing for like, ever.

uh, I GOT A NEW KITTEN!!!!!!!!! his name was arson, but it's now officially CROW! he's a little solid black kitten that likes to sit on my shoulders. He's my baby, my love. im seeing ateez twice this year, seeing and meeting a.c.e, and def securing barricade for enhypen with fave oomf neopup!!! IM VERY VERY EXCITED ABOUT THIS!

I have a lot of wips over on simpjaes! I also might revamp a couple more fics from here to enhypen members. I'm hoping if i make the author's not VIOLENTLY VISIBLE people will stop thinking i'm stealing my own fics ;-;

what is your take on Pelle's mental health?

He never received any diagnostic, so needless to say, my opinion is strictly based on my personal observations on his letters, interviews, and general facts.

I think that he was suffering from Major Depression with Psychotic Features.

His depression may be rooted in childhood (according to the possible reference he made in his s*****e note) and it would make sense because any form of depression started at a young age (untreated) turns chronic in time. It not only worsens, but it can definitively change the chemical composition of your brain and major depression is a life-long condition.

Now, his psychotic features can be evident from his claims that he felt 'physically dead', that his blood was 'frozen' in his veins, that he didn't feel 'human', that there was a fundamental discrepancy between him and the people around him. Major depression can (and in some cases will) lead to psychosis. Forms can be mild to severe.

What in the 19th century was called 'Cotard Syndrome', which doesn't take part in any diagnosis nowadays. What doctors will call this condition is psychosis. To explain this briefly, any behaviour that suggests that a person had lost their touch with reality is psychosis, so it's fair to assume that Pelle most probably dealt with that. It can be due to his prolonged, untreated depression or a head injury, or a genetic factor (I don't necessarily believe it's genetics, but you never know), what is certain is that he vehemently believed that he was a 'living-corpse'. Feeling like a 'living-corpse' for a short while is fairly common in people who suffered Near Death Experiences actually, but of course, in his case, things were different.

I do believe that he felt like he claimed and this alienated him from everybody else, but I won't use the terminology of 'Cotard Syndrome' because it doesn't exist in the DSM under this name, not because it doesn't exist as a condition.

His body dysmorphia seems more related to his psychosis. I don't believe that he starved himself soly because of depression and self-hatred (although it came as a co-morbid factor in every aspect of his mental illness), I genuinely think that his delusion was the most predominant factor in his mental degradation (because that's how delusions are compared to 'sedentary' mental illnesses) but I can be wrong.. he could've had a neurosis, but I doubt it because neurosis is less severe. Anyway, nobody can tell anything for sure as nobody examined him or scanned his brain or anything.

But, feeling like a corpse is just as valid as feeling like a god or an inanimated object. You see, perceptual hallucinations manifest in the same way, no matter what extraordinary 'thing' you feel like. I'm horrible at explaining things or, rather, summing up my analysis on him, I hope you follow.

I think that there is a possibility that he suffered a brain injury (concomitant with that spleen rupture) that irreversibly affected his reality perception and it intertwined with his preexisting depression, making his life completely miserable.

This is my opinion, not the truth. Anyone can think anything. I think he was severely depressed, but there was something 'extra' that put him in another category. And that something 'extra' might have come from that horrific incident that sent him to the hospital.

I've done consistent research, read a lot of books, and made psychological portraits on Pelle, Øystein and Varg, so it's fun to reply to these types of questions. I won't post my work here because I have no reason to, but I will share some crumbs here and there.

He’s one of only a handful who have the distinction of animating in a short they also directed!

It also means that he's really fast in swim form, to the point that he could probably outswim someone who'd filled all the slots on a piece of gear with Swim Speed Up without any Swim Speed Up investment of his own. (this is inspired by Lucky, another, very different version of Agent 4 made by EikaPrime on Ao3)

Yes she just goes by Eight. She was a little self-conscious about it at first but then she found out about SMG4 and the other SM64 Blooper Youtubers and no longer gives a shit

If she remembers her old name yet she's not mentioned it

Obviously doesn't remember her parents, but given the Domes are the kind of place where you can Start Training to Become an Advanced Military Hardware Engineer and Elite Soldier at Fucking Nine Years Old, I imagine she wouldn't have many memories of them even without the Amnesia

Contrary to popular fanon, my version of Eight doesn't have a scar from the Test Failed Bomb. This is because Respawn Pads (as long as they're fully functional) completely erase whatever the fatal injury was, leaving no trace apart from maybe some phantom pains if it was particularly nasty

She does, however, have plenty of scars from all the other shit she went through in that hellhole

Managed to complete every single test before she escaped

My version of Eight is a single year younger than Marina canonically is when they meet so I'm not going the Off the Hook Adoption route for this one (maybe in another AU with a more lose interpretation of Canon, but given this AU is specifically meant to adhere to Splatoon Canon as much as possible we're out'a luck this time), though she does still become very close friends with them

She's got Craig literally right there for any potential adoption attempts anyway

Very rarely speaks, but is expressive enough that most people can tell what she means anyway (you know Ferb? It's the exact same thing as what Ferb does)

Made up her last name on the spot when she was signing up for a Turfing License (if you're wondering how she managed to sign up for a Turfing License when she couldn't read; With Great Difficulty)

Figures she probably isn't a full Inkling given her weird beartrap beak but doesn't give enough of a shit to take a DNA test about it

Paige dragged her home to their apartment almost immediately after the final battle against Mr. Grizz and she never left. It's not an official adoption but that's only because Paige is a bit oblivious to their own feelings on the matter and Andi doesn't know that paperwork is supposed to be involved

Almost exclusively calls Paige "Cap" even when they're out of uniform. I mean, she can't very well call them "Mom" or "Dad" since they're nonbinary, now can she? Paige has no idea that's what she means by it and just thinks it's a nickname because Andi gives everybody nicknames. Usually as insults

It took her 333 tries to get through "Splitting Crosshairs" (I legitimately Cannot beat that stupid kettle no matter how hard I try and want her to share my frustration but also want all four agents to have 100%ed their respective adventures so I'm just having it take her a comically long time to do)

Mains Explosher because it's the closest she can get to a Turf-Legal grenade launcher (for now...)

The Eternal Hunger, Devourer of the Bear

Once looked Marie dead in the eyes and said "No one will ever believe you" in perfect Inklish while they were alone. Has never said anything else in anything other than Salmonid where someone can hear it

Andi and Crabcake fucking hated each-other for the first third of their adventure before bonding over kicking Frye's ass and now they're inseparable

Actually gets its own uniform after everything's said and done. It consists of a little high-rez safety vest (like the one on Paige's field uniform), an earpiece (suction-cupped in place since it doesn't have external ears) in the same style as Andi's headset, and a clean black-with-thin-yellow-racing-stripes-on-the-sides pants...wrap...thing

It also got a new switchblade from Sheldon (the old one got lost in the space battle after it turned into Hugefry) with the same kind of black-with-blue-LEDs aesthetic as Paige's gear and a blade made of Sardinium

Also thinks that it and Andi are already adopted by Paige but that's for Salmonid Culture Reasons instead of Not Having an Education Reasons

Got separated from its swarm during a Run a few months before Return of the Mammalians. It wasn't too fussed about it and figured it could handle itself in the desert for a while and then either reunite with that swarm if it ran into them or join a new one if it happened to come across one. Because Salmonid Culture

Considers the NSS its current swarm

while i think it's fair to worry about how much they're going to change certain stuff, i also think there's Way too much doomposting surrounding bg3's changes in characterisation

#'they changed lae'zel' its literally a greeting.#which changes w different levels of affinity #and according to what i've read it was always in the game files but wasn't working?#she's pretty much still the same in the main plot and in her romance #and the whole thing w gale being more lenient about the magic items is literally bc he would leave if you closed the inventory #without giving him anything #like literally the only real change in characterisation that i've seen has been astarion and his opinion on the mizora thing #that and the gortash gay letters that were changed #other than that the changes have only added scenes (mostly related to epilogue stuff which may have felt lacking at first) and fixed bugs #i will also say that wyll's part in all of this has been Very lacking because he truly needs more content in comparison to astarion #but if they're willing to listen to fans? maybe they Will add stuff?#and about the added lines to the gortash scene.... adding more dialogue options is Not changing the characterisation of a character #it's literally giving you more options. if you don't like them you can literally NOT press the button #OH. i've just remembered. halsin's new thing. not going romantic on you if you didn't flirt with him #that's also another characterisation change i noticed. but that's a coherent one #if you didn't flirt with halsin why would he. yk.#anyways. i'm seeing too much doomposting. worrying about this is normal but people are being so pessimistic #mona.txt

hello i see ag 2morrow for the second show of boom done tour i am so excited

i haven't been to a show since thursday @ the end of january in typical northeast "no one, quite understandably, tours here in the winter" fashion & i very much need this i am so very much looking forward 2 it also this is gonna be a GREAT month 4 shows

That's certainly what Takaya claims the issue is, but no. Takaya's aphenphosmphobia was caused by severe childhood abuse. It's why it manifests in the way it does for him; he can tolerate a consented touch a little better than a sudden one, and touch from someone he actually trusts (Jin and Chidori and sometimes Shinjiro depending on the situation) functions as a form of manageable "exposure therapy" to him. It still makes his anxiety spike and his skin crawl, but he knows their touch won't lead to broken bones, so he tolerates it.

Also keep in mind, this is Takaya we're talking about. This is not a man who is particularly in-tune with his emotions. When he begins to panic, his immediate response is to shut down and get angry, because in his mind fear = weakness, which is also why he claims it's a germ issue, because then he can claim he's just disgusted by touch, and not dead terrified of it.

But his panic manifesting as a constant internal monologue of "it's fine, you're fine, you can just kill this person later", as opposed to an external panic attack, does not mean he's not panicking. It's just internal, because, again, this guy had quite literally had it beaten into him from birth that fear = weakness, because your enemies can and will use your fear against you.

Also, when I say Takaya has aphenphosmphobia, I mean he was absolutely diagnosed with it by the scientists and doctors in the Kirijo Labs, and it was definitely noted in his file somewhere, but he himself would never, in a million years, accept that he has a phobia. To him, he thinks he just doesn't like it, it's only touch-aversion. Because he doesn't understand that no, it's actually not normal for your heart to be in your throat in terror because someone tapped you on the shoulder.

When he was a kid, he used to react more when pushed passed the limit he could force himself to tolerate, and they absolutely use to use this against him in the labs, forcing him to the point of external panic, and he pretty rapidly learned that an outward fear response is what they wanted, so he forced himself to learn how to, instead of getting worked up to the point of panic, just dissociate and not process it.

It'll be a little more obvious when I finally post his age progression, 'cause he's pretty banged up in the youngest picture of him, because there was quite literally nothing Chika and Yori wouldn't do to keep "their" kids in line.

#Sorry about the lore dump haha #I may still be a touch bothered by someone expecting *Takaya Sakaki* to have a typical reaction to literally *anything* lmao #but also my headcanons for his backstory are still being ironed out #so yeah when I write fanfiction I'm not always necessarily utilizing my headcanons #because I'm still working on them :/#sorry I know you're not the anon that irked me #but this is about Takaya's aphenphosmphobia so it's related haha
