Any big storm is preceded by very active tropical winds (Team announcement) clashing against temperate winds (fans during periods of rest between MCCs) And even if some stronger than usual tropical storms approach the shore there is no need to panic. You can fare this storms better by heeding the following advice:
Team announcement and pre-championship guidelines
Teams will be announced on Twitter, ideally you can wait for the information to be replicated in the MCC subreddit as well as the @mcc-updates updates account here on tumblr to avoid the strongest storm front.
But if you must look at them on Twitter please remember this is a highly volatile storm system and caution is advise.
Some recommendations for Twitter:
Open the app and head directly to the MCChampionship account, do not linger on your feed or the tags you may see trending if you aren't sure you've effectively filtered out any potencial discours
Wait for the team annoucemnets and express your excitment over your favourite team on your own profile, that way you may avod looking at the comments that can get out of hand very quick
⚠️DO NOT OPEN THE QUOTE RETWEETS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ⚠️
Leave Twitter and do not open it again.
Tumblr and discord are much more manageable places to celebrate and comment the teams if you aren't sure you have effectively blocked all discourse from Twitte
Some other recomendations if you are in an area that might be affected by the other storms
Reddit:
Reddit is a very cyclical storm system which has allowed us to identify a clear pattern. Is adviced to tread carefully the subreddit after team annoucments as the forum starts discussing and predicting the upcoming event by using tools like tiers and statistics to clasiffy the performance of a team or players. This discussion can vary from very rational and cordial, to very upsetting and heated, and the nature in on itself of evaluating a player or team solely on statistics may be upsetting to some. So be cautious!
Tumblr:
Depending on the configuration of teams, some might start some discussion that can vary on levels of chill. Or Tumblr might replicate the discourse that arises on Twitter if it gets bad enough. So be advice to have all the neccessary tags blocked to properly avoid discourse. Historically Tumblr has shown biases against teams, and can start a conversation that quickly becomes vitroil much more easily than you might expect, so tread with caution.
You deserve to be excited and have fun over this event!
And building hype over the teams and the prospect of seeing them compete! Don't let anyone take that from you! You are allowed to protect your fun and experience from discourse and are not obligated to partake on it!
