Melvin Morris became a Green Beret in 1961. Many years later in 2014 he received the Medal of Honor for his heroism in Vietnam when he used a small number of available grenades to repel a larger enemy force. He was shot several times during the encounter, but he survived the war and is currently 79 years old.

According to the files, Larry Parker’s first name is Laurence, the man we meet near Arcade machines is Morris Aubrey, and the fisherman is Coyote Nelson… but his description in the unreleased in-game encyclopedia also implies he died, so that might be inaccurate.

This item, H.R. 7152, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, faced strong opposition in the House Rules Committee. Howard Smith, Chairman of the committee, refused to schedule hearings for the bill. Emanuel Celler, Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, attempted to use this discharge petition to move the bill out of committee without holding hearings. The petition failed to gain the required majority of Congress (218 signatures), but forced Chairman Smith to schedule hearings.

The Psychonauts Battle Royale consists of 64 characters and will take place over 6 rounds! Round One will be set to last a week as I gain traction, but later rounds may be shorter (let me know what you think!)

I chose characters (with only a few small exceptions) that exist only in the real world and are not exclusive to mental worlds, just to keep character divisions more clear! Did my absolute best to seed the poll interestingly and decently fair, but go easy on me, I've never done any big polls before!

I have already set everything up so I won't be taking any requests or changes to the bracket at this point, just go with what you see! The list of characters has been placed below the cut for your viewing pleasure.

Ok I have a little baby theory about the launch - my initial thought was scripted content, specifically expanding the puppet history universe and possibly rebooting/finishing the hot data. The TV really stands out in my mind. Obviously it could just be a nod to the mission statement - "television caliber content" - but the professor showing up in MF? Morris Ashley having a fear of HORSES?? Not to stretch even further but THE HORSE CLIP IN THE BENDER EP HAVING THE SAME COLOURING/MARKINGS AS DOROTHY RUTH AND STANLEY MELVIN? These are most likely just the ramblings of a deranged unemployed youth, but it all keeps bouncing around in my brain. I have thought for a long time that PH could be expanded past the game show format; Shane has the ideas and passion to make scripted storytelling a big part of the show already. And Steven said that puppet history is synonymous with watcher .. idk. But I want it.

Realistically I know that I'm most likely way off base and it doesn't make the most sense for the company to make those choices. But it's my little baby theory and I will cuddle it until the 19th

(also any thoughts about the significance of the date??)

I do love the possible parallel between Morris Ashley and the Professor- they are both Professors soooo...

Significance of date? Hmm, I am unsure on this one if there is a significance. It may have just been the day that fit well with planning. Ya know with prepping for the announcement and when it would pick up the most traction which makes sense with putting it at the end of Mystery Files. That show does numbers for Watcher!

Maybe I will look into it, but truly I think it was just the right time with planning that led to the date.

It was originally released in 1975 by Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes featuring Teddy Pendergrass, an act signed to Gamble & Huff's Philadelphia International label. "Don't Leave Me This Way" was covered by American singer Thelma Houston in 1976 and by British duo The Communards in 1986, with both versions achieving commercial success.

The original version of the song by The Blue Notes, featuring Teddy Pendergrass' lead vocals, was included on the group's 1975 album Wake Up Everybody. Although the Blue Notes' recording had not yet been released as a single in the United States at the time, it reached number three on the US Billboard Hot Disco Singles chart, behind Thelma Houston's version. The song proved to be the group's most successful entry in the United Kingdom, reaching number five on the British Singles Chart when it was released as a single there in 1977. It became the title track of a budget LP released on the CBS Embassy label in 1977 and released in the UK in 1978. The track was eventually released in the US in 1979 as a 12-inch single along with "Bad Luck".
