Movie × Inside No. 9 Paralells
You can take this as a reccomendation post, because I love movies and I love Inside No. 9 and, above all, I like talking and reccomending things
Once Removed × Memento
Involves backwards storytelling
Lots of action
Misdirection × The Prestige
Magicians
Rivalry and secrecy
The root cause of conflict is the theft of a trick
Simon Says × Misery
Writer and fan relationship
Said fan is unsatisfied with the ending of the media they like
The writer just wants to move on from the series they created

Memory can change the shape of a room; it can change the color of a car. And memories can be distorted. They're just an interpretation, they're not a record, and they're irrelevant if you have the facts.
Memento, Christopher Nolan

When you told me you were moving today,
I felt the last few moments we all shared-
-fade away.
Our lives together died while chasing a train.
They were buried on a hill, overlooking the waves.
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off | Sunday - The Cranberries | Salad Days - Mac Demarco | Across the Sea - Weezer | The Stranger/L’Étranger - Albert Camus | I Know It’s Over - The Smiths | Kurt Vonnegut | Memento |

If I were the main character in Memento and I found tattoos I absolutely do not remember getting all over my body, I probably would've assumed those messages were made by and for other people and had no relation to my situation except by complete coincidence and I was simply some weird new age carrier pigeon equivalent for at least the first couple memory lapses if not the entire time

Rewatching Memento for my psychology class (the memory chapter, of course). It’s a trip down memory lane for me too; I saw it in theaters when it first came out. I remember getting a headache from concentrating so hard. And the structure and overall feeling of it, but none of the details of plot, so it’s like I’m discovering the reveals for the first time.
It’s holding up! Young Guy Pierce was beautiful! which I don’t remember particularly noticing at the time, but maybe I just was repressing it because I was still uncomfortable with finding men hot then. And I’d completely forgotten Carrie Ann Moss was in it!
I have to write a review for the class, so maybe I’ll post some of it here too.
