I'm a nerd. Sometimes I cosplay. When I do its usually an OC I made just because I wanted to wear something cool. Meet Sheriff Blackhorn. This is what happens when I think of a literal 'Cow Boy' and decide I wanna be a Minotaur Sheriff.
These pics are a year old. My hair is short, if I dressed up like this again I'd have to find a way of covering my human ears.

Drew my current Sky Kid outfit. Kinda regret how I did the scarf, but too late now. Still happy with how it came out! Gotta play dress up with the Yeti pants and see what other outfits I can put together.

Big idea. rent out a big building. Fill it with Easily breakable walls and props, like plaster and cardboard. Make a maze out of it. Have someone put on a costume and breakthrough those walls. have a group of 1-4 people try to escape the maze without breaking anything and avoiding the person in a costume. Sell the experience as haunted house meets escape room.
i’ll call the business,Mini Minotaur Maze.

currently thinking about how ages ago my friend sent me a long-ass explanation about why saltburn is an adaptation of the myth involving theseus, the minotaur, and the labyrinth.
nobody asked but here’s some of the fun proof that exists of this:
first and foremost, icarus, the boy who flew too close to the sun. during the party scene, it is evident that felix symbolises this poor ill-fated youth, and the symbolism here is potent. he flew too close to finding out what oliver truly is. he discovered something he shouldn’t have, and dressing him up in icarus cosplay is the perfect showcase for his fate and his mistakes. it’s also brilliant in terms of what icarus actually did to “deserve” death. realistically, he was told not to go too high or too low, but in actuality, such cryptic instructions were difficult to follow mid-flight, and it resulted in catastrophe. felix is trying to navigate the responsibilities of being a good friend with his baggage as someone in a family of rich pricks. it’s hard, and in flying too far away from his background, he “flew too close to the sun” and discovered things he shouldn’t have. as a small nod to further the icarus imagery, felix’s body is discovered under bright and direct sunlight as he lays motionless in his winged costume.
secondly, saltburn is in the center of a labyrinth. the labyrinth lore runs deep in this movie, because not only does the labyrinth function as symbolism, it has lore that runs adjacent to the lore of the actual labyrinth. in theseus and the minotaur, the labyrinth is a construct of greek architect and inventor daedalus, who was conscripted by king minos to create the maze. in saltburn, the labyrinth is constructed upon special request from james catton, the owner of the estate, and a very wealthy man (almost like a modern day king).
the labyrinth (in the original myth) is dangerous to all characters that reside within it. it keeps all in within a chance for escape, and those that get close die tragically. in saltburn, the labyrinth functions as an ode to the ways in which riches and fame poison those that reside in the walls, keeping them locked within its dangerous talons, or in this case, cleanly trimmed hedges. it’s suburbia on a larger and more internal scale. even those that do not have riches themselves, namely farleigh and annabel, do everything they can to remain on the estate and in the good graces of those on the property with immense money. it affects how they act and how they are expected to act. farleigh, as a good example, is very stuck on the particulars of rich people’s behaviour. as mentioned above, those that try to leave the maze die tragically, and icarus is a prime example. felix, in his attempt to be better than the riches of the estate socially allow, flies too close to a possible escape from the confines of the labyrinth and is murdered as a result.
in the story of the labyrinth, it is unsolvable, unless you are clever and quick witted (manipulative), which theseus luckily is. the same is true for oliver. oliver, like theseus, gets into the heads of multiple characters, manipulating his way to the top of the food chain. the scene where oliver views the wooden counterprt of the maze through the head office in the estate, he is told that he shouldn’t be there, and a sense of ominous foreboding takes place. we feel that he has seen something that will change him. however, i believe this is simply symbolism for the fact that oliver has figured out the secret to the maze: a secret that he, an outsider and a poorer, less sociable man should not be aware of, as he is a representation of theseus, a character who has no right being king.
thirdly, oliver is juxtaposed with imagery if the minotaur during the party scene, and though this costume doubles as a reference to the changeling in a midsummer night’s dream, it is still highly important. in the original myth, people are sacrificed to the minotaur on a yearly basis. at first, felix fits the profile for the minotaur: a rich, wealthy man in a labyrinth who is regularly described as going through friends the way a young boy would go through toys. it is also true that the minotaur has often been seen as a controversial figure, one that begs the question “is a monster just a tormented creature fated to behave according to the will of the gods?”. felix’s behaviour, or namely, his attempted deviancy from the behaviour he is expected to show, is a major prt of his character arch. we expect oliver to be the victim of felix’s behaviour exactly because of this. but he isn’t. an easy explanation is that oliver is the minotaur, going through the family members as though they were victims in a maze. however, oliver is NOT the minotaur, as the myth is a lot more complex than the minotaur being the bad guy. despite what we expect, director emily fennel is leaning into the concept that the minotaur’s storyline is that of fate versus free will. the minotaur is cursed by the gods to fall into certain patterns and to be punished for its behaviour, despite it doing exactly what was expected. felix attempts to deviate from what is expected, but ultimately he fits in well with the rich and social, and his death is a punishment at the hands of a sort-of theseus who believes he is more deserving. rather, oliver is also seen to be theseus, who famously invaded the maze, manipulated its dwellers in order to navigate it, killed the minotaur, and then manipulated his way into becoming king as a result. sound familiar? it is because of this that the imagery of oliver as the changeling is particularly important. the horns can be evocative of the minotaur, offering us a red herring, where he is truly disguised as the opposite. it’s a fake out.
fourthly, king minos (owner of the labyrinth) did not die directly at the hands of theseus, he did eventually meet his downfall and was boiled to death in a bath. james catton, head of the estate, dies of a supposed suicide, also not directly by oliver’s hands, but still implicitly connected to the events of the story, much like king minos’ death.
the lore in this film is incredible, and though emily fennel has not said that the film is an adaptation of greek myth, the parallels are deliciously undeniable. saltburn is fascinating, and truly one of the best films of 2023. there is so much stuff jam packed into it, and it’s one of those films that takes a few watches to fully grasp its depth. i love it!

A friend and I got bored in class and one thing led to another and this is what he thinks every episode River appeared in is about solely based off the title and the doctorwho.tv thumbnails:
Silence in the library: “Spacesuits with replaceable heads of dead people (like Walt Disney)”
Forest of the Dead: “She (River) is the body that they put the skeleton helmet on”
Time of Angels: “Taylor Swift”
Flesh and Stone: “there’s a guy and he really wants to be a weeping angel so he makes a cosplay and starts a cult and tries to become a weeping angel”
The Pandorica Opens: “Spacetime wacky hijinks where they get a Roman soldier, a Minotaur and a bunch of random aliens from wherever and put them in a maze”
The Big Bang: “young Sheldon”
The Impossible Astronaut: “they don’t go to the moon. Instead, they go to the 50s and the astronaut is a Chinese spy trying to uncover NASA’s plans so China can go the the moon first and capture aliens. But they do not go to the moon.”
Day of the Moon: “an episode for the fans. They still don’t go to the moon. Instead, the current cast, old companions, and irrelevant side characters from the 60s are all locked in a dark room and they try to get out.”
A good man goes to war: “Doctor Who becomes friends with a good man, then goes to the future to discover the kid grew up into a heartless person, find out they went to war, then continue going back in time to figure out why.”
Let’s kill h!tler: “they don’t kill him. Instead they devise a bunch of plans on how to kill him. They don’t travel through time, they are in a room the whole time making theories on how they could do, why they can’t do it, and why they couldn’t have done it earlier”
Closing time: “the Doctor isn’t here, it’s just James Cordon getting tortured for 40 minutes by an unseen figure”
The wedding of River Song: “whacky hijinks ensue on a barge. The story focuses on like different people, why they’re here, and how they’re connected. One guy is an alcoholic who comes on the barge to get drunk in secret, one guys trying to get married, one’s an assassin, one’s the officiant, they’re all crazy and they have to work together for seemingly unconnected reasons”
The Angels take Manhattan: “the weeping angel cult is back and it spreads throughout Manhattan.”
The name of the Doctor: he gave me three different options:
1) the timeless child story (kinda)
2) the prisoners of the judoon plot (kinda)
3) the setup to a Doctor waaaaay farther into the relative future
The Wedding of Song: “super controversial. The companions are now fully fleshed out characters separate to the Doctor. Call back to the episode on the barge. Fans hate this episode.”
Russel, please hire this man, I’d watch these episodes.

the sudden urge to make a Stray Gods Hecate - Cosplay for whatever occasion I might need it (I rarely go to conventions and so I don't have many occasions to wear a cosplay)
I am currently replaying Stray Gods to get some more trophies after I finishen "my playthrough" as a fierce Grace and Persephone as her LI. And initially I thought about making a Persephone cosplay - if making one at all - because the character is so so cool. But I really like Hecates design too. Plus it might suit me and my personality a bit better than the tough Persephone so maybe "Darling Kate" is the go to option.
Dress should be doable somehow, skincolour is a case for make up (I don't have any makeup skills but there are YT-videos for that) so also not a big problem. Only problem: the eyes. I know there are contact lenses that cover the "whole" eye (sclera contact lenses) but ... contact lenses 😨 My eyes are kinda annoyed by them and hurt after less than 3 hours but maybe I should just give it a try beforehand, start with "normal lenses" and see if I can train my eyes to tolerate contact lenses ...

I was thinking about how one would execute a house of leaves cosplay/costume. I mean obviously you dress as the house. Yk, the floor plan. Primary colour is white, then you can add your blue and pink. Draw the floorplan and the spiral on with grey, then write the text over it. But more suited to the medium of fashion, you could dress up like a conspiracy theory board. With pink/blue string connecting the parts of the outfit. Not the best perhaps but I'm imaging a white suit with a white top hat and a white cane. Maybe a labcoat. Best part is you could have fun with it. Make it housewise, out of thread and fabric and string and pins and needles and paint and ink and paper and pens and blood and vinyl and citations and minotaurs and drywall and a copy of house of leaves. Idk what else people mean by a Dr. House cosplay.

Do you think any of the DB crew have any particular kinks or fetishes?
Indeed I do!
I have quite a few here & I had to limit myself with how many I talked about. 😅
(Imo, these kinks/fetishes seem mostly in character & possible.)
GOKU: Food kink. Chi-Chi's cooking specifically really arouses him because there's a one of a kind special connection between the taste & smell of her cooking & Chi-Chi herself (plus some apes get turned on by eating food, so it makes sense). He also likes to get Chi-Chi frustrated on purpose because her sparring with him also turns him on.
CHI-CHI: Seeing a hard working man come home after a long and toilsome day of farming. So, a work kink? She loves getting praise and complements.
VEGETA: He's a closet masochist. Pain & humiliation accidentally became his kink because he thought that he could exploit his zenkai boosts & turn his rage into "power" to catch up with Goku. And it worked. However, it quickly got out of hand to where it became his kink. Now, Bulma saying "I bet Goku is better in bed than you" or "Yamcha was better than this" or insulting his peen size really gets him riled up for a fight (as well as really turned on). Taking damage is just the thing to get a battle-crazed masochist's-- I mean, a battle-crazed Saiyan's blood pumping! Sounds like Ultra Ego, don't it?
Tumblr media
BULMA: She's a sadist who loves sh*t-talking her partner. She likes to be "worshipped" too. But, in reality, she just desires open affection. As shown in DBS: Super Hero, she playfully teases now instead of being rude, so she's lightned up as she got older. She also loves domination loss, but she keeps that kink a secret. (I believe she used to have an hybristophilia & autassassinophilia fetish when younger too. Thus, she got with a badit & a genocidal maniac who threatened to kill her twice.)
YAMCHA: He has a kink for being teased. But, Bulma's sadism in their youth was a bit too extreme for him to handle. He also has a biting kink that he blames on his "wolf" instincts.
TENSHINHAN: Does he even think of sex?
Tumblr media
LAUNCH: Blonde has a dom kink, Blue has a sub kink. Blonde likes guys that fight, Blue likes kind guys. Both have a dirty talk kink & cuddling, but Blonde Launch is a total tsundere about the cuddling.
KRILLIN: Thigh fetish (have you seen 18's thighs?!?) so my boy definitely likes to put his face and other things between her thighs. Krillin's a giver so, satisfying his partner really flips his switch. Developed a stealth-sex kink because they had to while living at Kame House when Roshi wasn't out shopping or at a hostess club. Cop cosplay/roleplay kink, but his co-workers are becoming suspicious of his excuses "These are just food stains on my uniform."
EIGHTEEN: Krillin is her kink/fetish. She never experienced such genuine kindness, so she's just head-over-heels for him & still blushes from just thinking about him as shown in DBS EP 68. She likes being picked up by Krillin & having what she affectionately refers to as "Krillin-quickies." She likes watching Krillin workout/train and get sweaty too. Another thing she loves to do is brag about Krillin to other women & see their reactions. Has a praise kink because so many ppl treated her as an "it" instead of a person, but she's a tsundere about complements. Cop cosplay/roleplay kink & leaving hickeys on Krillin so everyone knows he definitely f*cks when he goes on patrol (also marking her territory lol).
Tumblr media
ANDROID 21: Sugary foods + sex kink, meaning she likes her sugary confections with extra "cream." Also, just wants to have a family like 18 has (she's a female android, so she OBVIOUSLY has a Krillin kink too.)
Tumblr media
SEVENTEEN: Outdoor sex kink. Specifically by the campfire on Minotaur Island with his ranger wife.
VIDEL: Cosplay/super hero roleplay kink. She likes to think she's an exhibitionists because she doesn't wear panties under her bike shorts (so in a way she's flashing her underwear).
Tumblr media
GOHAN: Cosplay/super hero roleplay kink. When Videl playfully puts on his glasses or reads a science book out loud. The boy loves his books. Heck, he might even have a "book fetish" if that's a thing.
PICCOLO: Would neck massages be a kink since Namekians reproduce from their throat? Anyhow, because he's a hermaphrodite & isn't really interesting in romantic relationships with other ppl... ⤵
Tumblr media
FUTURE TRUNKS: Praise kink because he just needs reminders that he did his best. Poor boy.
FUTURE BULMA: She has a praise kink. Just wants a loving & attentive partner again. Tragedy revealed for her that she took Yamcha's kindness for granted.
DR. BRIEF & PANCHY: They might be swingers/have an open relationship based off of how Panchy talked about finding a boyfriend and Brief a girlfriend in DB. They have a drinking fetish. That's a thing, right? And for some reason, I suspect that back in the day, Panchy might have been a nudist when at Capsule Corp. & got turned on by strutting her stuff in front of the employees who signed NDA's. Dr. Brief probably used to walk around in nothing but a lab coat too just cause he owned everything & could when he was too lazy to get fully dressed. So, ex-exhibitionists? That would explain some of Bulma's frustrations with her parents.
ROSHI: An ultra-masochist. Why else would he purposefully allow normal women far weaker than himself inflict injury on him? He's a voyeur too, which is why he goes to a hostess bar so he can look but can't touch. He's into SPH & gets nosebleeds because his ancient ass has permanent ED and the blood has to escape somewhere. "Eternal life" without eternal youth kinda sucks. Also has a boob & underwear fetish as shown in the series as well.
FREEZA: A torture fetish? I think its also called "ryona"? I mean, the guy did nothing but image-training of how he would torture then kill Goku while he was in Hell. The idea of Freeza having a fetish is kinda weird since he seems very asexual. But, if he had one, that would probably be it.
CELL: He repoduces asexually so... ⤵
Tumblr media
MR. SATAN/HERCULE: Being "worshipped." His reflection turns him on because he's an extreme narcissist. (Yeah, yeah, I know not all autosexual ppl are narcissists, but HE is.) Probably has a boob fetish. He seems like a boob guy.
BUU: ⤵
Tumblr media
GOKU BLACK/ZAMASU: Himself in the most awkward way you can imagine. I believe it's called "selfcest." Takes self-love to a different level.
WHIS: Food kink. Apparently Angels have super sensitive taste buds & can have foodgasms. Lol.
BEERUS: He likes to be praised and scratched behind the ears & under the chin. But, as a GoD, he won't admit something so embarrassing. Apparently, cute green gals are a fetish of his, I guess...
CHEELAI: Kleptophilia A.K.A. arousal from stealing (cause that's a thing). On the contrary, she thinks drawn out fighting is stupid & it's a huge turn off for her. (Sorry not sorry, Brolai shippers. I was never really a fan of that ship & saw nothing with the characters that supported it.)
BROLY: ⤵

These characters were for the few DnD oneshots I have been lucky enough to do in-person! On the right is Maia, the minotaur wild magic barbarian who, having been brainwashed by the magic sentient city the oneshot took place in, was mostly a minotaur janitor. I gave her clothes I had IRL, so I could cosplay her in the session! She’s also an Auroch, which is why her horns are so wicked. I built her around the perception skill, which she wound up with a +12 in.
On the left is Nix-Cimex, a thri-keen rogue/monk who interrogates everyone she meets  and attends a military academy in hopes of eventually travelling around to find her lost cousin (played by my cousin!), who she finds on the first day of class. I actually randomized a lot of this character-- I rolled a die to determine her race and shuffled my playlist for her personality (The Watchtower by The Dø) and aesthetic (the band Minimall). She is based on a snow scorpionfly!
Drawn July 2022 & December 2022.
