So I planned this clever post where I was going to say “if you want to know how I feel about today, just read the shirt” - I thought oh hey I know I’ll take a photo in the mirror since y’all seem to enjoy my often ridiculous self portraits. And now the shirt is not only blurry but also backwards 🙄. It says Grateful. I’m Grateful. Hello, there! Taking a break to talk about things that keep me sane throughout the quarantine and shenanigans back home. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We're halfway this year, but spent 80-90% of the last four months at home. On some days, when I wasn't doing much, I like to take photos of the things in my house, and my most photographed subjects are my plants. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My plants have become my silent companions during the quarantine. I am not a perfect #plantmom, I've killed two of them (RIP — rest in peperomia), but I try my best to keep them alive. I think my most common mistake is overwatering (gasp!). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Growing up, we've always had plants around, but I wasn't as interested as I am now. But I have to say, having my plants has helped me cope with the current situation, even when I'm on my own. Call me crazy, but I talk to them sometimes! In a world where everything seems to go mad lately, having something (or things) to take care of, and at the same time makes me happy and fulfilled because I was able to keep it alive, gives me a sense of relief.
