Lancelot

The sun is blistering hot, so I take shelter beneath the green leaves of a tree. The thought occurs to me that when I had left the castle, that hate soaked order thundering through me, that it had been autumn. Has it really been that long since I was sent off on this quest? How much longer would it take to find the grail…If I did would my sins be forgiven? Will I be able to fulfill my purpose and serve as their knight once more? It’s strange, but part of me hopes for something else.

I slayed a worm a few days ago, it was wound around a tree and struck at any poor soul who came too close to the forest…The people were grateful but I couldn't help but wonder…Were we made for a similar purpose? Someday when I die, will there be someone grateful that I am gone? There definitely are people out there who hate me for the things I have done. In any case I could not stay, only rubble was left of whatever the worm was guarding, there was no grail hidden in the ruins and so my orders drove me onward. Some nights I wonder if I'm searching for an impossible thing, if this is my punishment for trying to be more than what I was made to be…Will I ever see Guinivere again? Would I even know her if I did? I don't know if I can change as she can, I was made to be a knight…Though I look like a person, I came into the world fully formed and I have not changed since. My hair does not grow unless it is cut, my skin does not scar, I cannot change even if I wanted to…I am the perfect knight, created to protect the greatest kingdom. Suppose this quest takes 100 years…and I am still living, will there even be anyone I know when I return? Will I return to find a new ruler, holding my amok, ready to make use of me again? I don't know if I could bear it…I can only hope that my king and my creator were kind, that this is not a fool's errand, afterall if they had wanted to kill me…all it would have taken is the snap of their fingers.

Guinevere asked me once…what I would do if I were master of my fate. I didn’t understand her question at first, until she elaborated.

“Well…sometimes I think about what I would have liked to be, had I not been married to Arthur. I think I would have quite liked to travel, to experience as much of this land as I could and maybe what lies beyond it…” I remember the strangely bitter yet wistful look that crossed her face, before she turned to me, expectant…I had answered simply,

“I don't think there's anything I want.” For some reason, that made her look quite sad. It’s strange now that I think about it…I am living what she dreamed of doing, soon I will be forced across the sea to continue my search, and I know if she were in my place she would be overjoyed…Yet all I want is to see her again. I suppose that’s my answer, if I were master of my fate…I would go back to Camelot and I would be perfect and I would obey my king…so long as I could be near her…I wonder if that answer would make her happy.

Day 29: Crossover AU

(… I don’t do crossovers well)

King Adrien Arthur, the holder of the magical sword Plagg, granted to him by the wizard Merlin Fu and the Lady of the Lake, Nathalie, had a round table of knights with one empty spot.

All of the noble warriors of Felix’s town had tried their hand at the seat, each one was burned by the magic wooden chair.

He couldn’t bring himself to care, he had a war to win. His sword clashed with that of famous berserker, Stoneheart. The knights of the horrid Hawkmoth were valid adversaries, almost a challenge for Felix.

The mage Allegra was trying her best to slow the on coming forces whilst dodging throwing stars from the hidden Lady Wifi.

Claude, bless his infiltration techniques, was gathering information and sabotaging as many plans as he could.

They just had to hold on as Mercury, their swift footed deliverer, got to King Adrien’s palace and convinced him to sent reinforcements.

He turned his mind back to his adversary. Berserkers would fight until they were chopped to pieces, and Stoneheart was notorious for gaining strength with every blow.

He would have to trap him.

He dropped to the ground as the next swing came, wrapping a length of rope around his ankles. Felix then darted around Stoneheart, tightening the rope as he went along. Finally, as he fell, Felix grabbed the sword from his hands and stabbed him.

“Allegra!” He shouted. “Let the next one through!”

“No,” Another voice came from behind him. “Let them all through.” It was Kagami, the king’s most adept commander. The order of the Miraculous had come.

She pulled out her sword. “I would keep Stoneheart’s sword if I were you, much better that the one you had.”

“I agree.” He spun the sword over his head in a wide arc, ending the life of the akuma Vanisher.

“Well, we shouldn’t sang here gabbing like chamber maids, let’s join the battle.”

“Let’s.”

The battle didn’t last long. The order of the miraculous decimated the akumas. It was clear though, that Kagami had her hands full commanding both the Ladybug troop and the Dragon troop. When he offered assistance, she firmly refused.

“The Dragon troop is mine to command, and I would die before I let a random soldier take charge of the Ladybug troop. That is for the soldier who fills out empty seat.” She spoke firmly as she watched the troops retreat.

“Though, That may be you.” The king.

Felix dropped to a kneel alongside Kagami. “Your highness.”

“Please, call me Adrien! As I was saying, you showed a great deal of strength in battle, I suspect that you might be the leader of the Ladybug troop. Mind coming with us and giving it a try?”

“As you wish, my king.”

“Adrien.”

“Adrien.” He amended.

“And what is your name?”

Felix stood tall. “Felix. Felix Lancelot.”

“Well, Felix Lancelot, grab your horse and join us on the trip back to Camelot. I’m sure we’ll be great friends.”
