I'm pretty terrible at doing nothing and resting my neck... Handily, modelling clay is something you can hold at head height and twiddle with. This is my first attempt at making fungi in air-drying clay 🍄🌳

It's really nice to take some time and do something arty but different from work, even if I am still vexed by having to *not do all the things* 😂

I don't actually have any clay tools, so if anyone wants to recommend something fancier than cocktail sticks lmk!

This is the licensed Dungeons & Dragons DAS Modelling Clay set (1982). Or, more accurately, one of them — the other sports molds for dragons and goblins. This is by far the more common of the two, though. As much as I want to groan about this tie-in, I find that I can’t, really. It’s pretty cool for what it is. I would totally use it with my kid, if I could be sure the molds wouldn’t break (and, I guess, assuming I could find similar clay — do they make Pronto anymore?). Hm. Maybe I WILL make these with my kid…

Anyway, I would have loved this thing when I was a kid. Its way better than some of the other doofy tie-in products, for sure.

Убила на это чудо часа три.

Очень долгих и мучительных часа, в течение которых самозатвердевающая глина норовилась самозатвердеться, а кривые руки пытались выдать что-то путное.

Итог: офигенное тело, менее офигенная голова, тяжесть которой не дает фигурке стоять прямо (решила это как-нибудь исправить после, потому что переделывать голову, - убейте! - не согласна. Кажется, 2,5 часа из трех делалась только голова) и совсем не офигенная мордочка. Будем надеяться, что при покраске все это будет выглядеть лучше.

Насчет тела она даже уверена. Ее беспокоит морда.

Но в крайнем случае можно оторвать голову и сказать, что это пенек.
