The Big Three Children

Zeus. Poseidon. Hades.

Foolish- Golden boy. Summons lightning easily. Sparks fly when he's mad. Uses a Trident to spite his dad- pun intended. Youngest of the Little Four. Out here living his best Amnesia life. Puffy saw poor boy, took poor boy, now they sailing on the Seas avoiding death. Yes Foolish was born and Zeus broke his oath- only the second time. Came to camp after the 2nd Titan War.

Joel- Foolish’s older Half-brother. Everyone hates Zeus so he dated the daughter of Poseidon. Sword lover. Uses the winds more than lightning. Takes pottery lessons. 2nd oldest of the Little Four. But also kinda the oldest? Saved Grian and Jimmy- got turned into a Tree. (Like the Mezalea one but also Thalia) Chilling with his GF at college. Becoming an architect. Short L.

Lizzie- The chosen one. Literally. (Aka Percy but girl boss). Trident Supreme Threatener. Amazingly strong and powerful do not approach. Adopted Jimmy because yes. Can beat Pearl- sometimes. Visits Poseidon's palace monthly. Great with sea creatures. Almost died on the way to camp HAH imagine. Barely survived. Moms dead. Started hearing voices from the Mother tree so went on a quest so she could help the tree. Got a boyfriend in return, great deal. Hanging with no longer tree Joel at college. Rejected the Hunters.

Joe- Creepy Supreme. Best friends with Cleo and Kristin. Pops up randomly. Out here spitting poetry like he's Apollo. Yes he's met Apollo- gave him the idea to start on his Haiku phase- DARN IT JOE. Chills with the dead. Weirdly happy. Don't cross him, he will remember. Has a book- will hit you with book. No one really knows when he showed up, nor will anyone ask. Mysterious. Somehow alive. Actually great relationship with his dad.

Welcome to the 52drabbles prompt list for 2024 —which, amusingly, has 53 prompts! (Thank you Leap Year!)

The goal behind this year-long opt-in challenge is to post a drabble every week. To be actively writing, and actively posting, all year.

To that end we've built a list of prompts for each week in 2024 —plus a handful of alternative prompts that can be subbed in for any week (or used as prompts for bonus drabbles, because MOAR drabbles is always good!) The prompts include images, songs, random words or phrases, tropes, and in April, for poetry month - poems.

If the prompt is in double quotes, the prompt must appear in the drabble, otherwise it's meant as inspiration. During April you can choose to write a poem of the type specified as your prompt, or write *about* that type of poem. For song prompts, pick out a lyric if you like, or be inspired by the vibe of the song. Whatever works!

Also included is a list of lengths - you may choose any length from the list to pair with any of the weekly prompts.

Although the challenge is to write a drabble a week, it's a completely voluntary, opt-in sort of challenge. No hard and fast deadlines, no turning them in - just write and post. If you're posting on tumblr, please tag them with @52drabbles so we can find them for monthly roundup posts!

FAQ:

Can you explain the concept a little further?  Sure! This is a challenge for yourself to create 12 things (fic/art/gifsets/edits/anything really), one each month, based around a theme. That theme can be very structured or very loose, there are no rules. And it doesn’t have to be a big production, you could write 12 Mandalorian haikus. Or pick a different character every month and make a gif of their hands. Maybe you want to challenge yourself to write more inclusively or try a new format or finally dip your toe into smut. Pick something you want to try, or something that brings you joy--it’s about growth, community, and fulfillment. The idea is that you’ll have the support of the other Year Of makers who are all running their own challenges and hopefully come out of 2023 with some new tools/stories/fun pieces/a collection that you might not otherwise have embarked upon.

Is it only for the Pedro boys?  No! You can include any fandom you want, or no fandom at all! Just know that I’ll be posting the creations on my blog and hopefully it will be shared by some of your Year Of compatriots, and many of us are part of the Pedro fandom, so those are the eyes that will see a lot of it. But really, this is support for makers of all kinds for all their blorbos!!!

How do I join up?  Send me a DM/ask, respond to the master post, or tag me in a post about your intentions and I’ll add you to the list! If you look at the masterpost, you’ll see some of the challenges are linked to that artist’s masterlist. If you set one up, let me know and I’ll get it linked. @stealyourblorbos suggested we start a Discord coven to help us stay connected, and if there’s enough interest, I think that’d be great! Of course it wouldn’t be required--I for one am not great at Discord and am kind of a ding dong at it and tend to get overwhelmed, so would understand if anyone wasn’t into that. But I trust Jules’ expertise and think that could be a lot of fun!

What happens if I don’t complete my challenge for a month / fail the challenge? There’s no way to fail here, and if you do, that’s your own call. So you don’t do it one month. So what? Life gets busy or inspiration fails to strike. Completing this challenge is not a pillar that keeps the sky from falling down--there’s more to life than this. This is my invitation to you to let go of perfectionist completism. If it’s not bringing you joy one month, don’t do it! Join in next month, we’ll be here with open arms!!!! And if you still complete the month’s challenge but post it a week late? I will still reblog it and include it in that month’s masterlist. This is for fun. This is not to add another pressure into your life. Think of it as a book club--sometimes you don’t get the book read, but you still come to the club meeting because community, right? (And maybe because wine and cake too. I don’t judge.) As long as you get to try something new and come out of the year with something you had fun making, you’re a winner. The one-a-month thing is just a helpful guideline, as is the theme; rails to ride and help guide inspiration. It’s not a promise you’re making to anyone, no obligations to keep. You’re safe here. <3

yes!!!! (and so glad to hear, I love knavery!) many of these lean more indie but that happens sorry

my top rec is the escape artist, they're a singer/songwriter from NY who does like... indie rock? emo? but they have maybe the most insane lyrics of all time. just one album out but it was my top album of 2022.

dad thighs is female fronted emo, occasional screaming which I do love also she sounds like she's about to cry usually. which is great

I'd also recommend P.E.E., they're almost midwest emo? 2k monthly listeners which is more than knavery and the escape artist for sure. they had a bunch of stuff from the 90s but recently dropped another album. good shit!

LINT is some niche ass midwest emo/shoegaze/indie from the late 90s.

no idea what is up with the gender of the singer from American Haiku and I like it that way. LOVE this album. they also haven't been active in years but such is life

The characters don't know what I'm trying to fix because for them it hasn't happened (and in this fic, it never will). But Eliot (his POV) clearly knows that Quentin's life is ultimately in danger.

Winter bee walks without dying – Kijo Murakami:村上鬼城(Haiku)

Kijo Murakami was a haiku poet who lived from 1865 to 1938. He was recognized by Kyoshi Takahama, the leader of the monthly haiku magazine "Hototogisu," and was a great haiku poet who achieved the feat of decorating the front page of the magazine for several years in the Taisho period. A typical example of his haiku is the one at the beginning of this blog.

Kijo Murakami has many haiku that stare at animals and plants from a unique perspective. just to list a few:

1 @ Winter bee walks without dying

  冬蜂の死にどころなく歩きけり

2 @ I wonder if it's a waste silkworm crawling up in the summer grass

 夏草に這ひ上りたる捨蚕かな

3 @ Spring pasted and the blind dog became a mother

 行く春や親になりたる盲犬

1@ has a lot of pictures of him, Kijo Murakami's state of life. He was deaf and had troubles in his daily life, and even though he had intended to be a good soldier for his country, he was unable to do so because of his deafness and became a scribe. I was doing It is certain that he felt pity that the bee, a soldier, was not given a place to die in the cold winter. It's as if this Tohachi is himself... However, according to the book I'm reading, "Kijo Murakami: Interpretation and Appreciation" (Bakugai Nakazato), this phrase expresses pity or self-pity. From what I read, the haiku poet is in a position overlooking these two (bee and Kijo), and the haiku is produced.

2 @ is a sericulture farmer, and he couldn't get the mulberry leaves in time, so he threw away his precious silkworms, but the silkworms have the will to live and climb up on the grass... Kijo Murakami made him climb. Mr. Nakazato says that it is the person's power or imagination.

3@. Blind dogs are also objects of pity, but this should be interpreted like 1@.

4 @ Fields on that poeple work either alive or dead for a long time

 生きかはり死にかはりして打つ田かな

This phrase is very interesting. The ancestral farm work that has been done for generations appears in my eyelids as an eternal image that transcends time. A haiku is essentially a snapshot of a photograph, but this haiku transcends time and space and is symbolized.
