a few days later after the grand final trial, micah finds themself in the dreaming where they meet the dream of endless, its presence cold and distant as ever, though, there is a certain raw shift in the celestial atmosphere between them that does not bring micah apprehension, but comfort providing. it knows. IT KNOWS WHAT YOU HAVE DONE AT THE REALM OF DREAMS AND NIGHTMARES — screams follow micah, their body flinching at the pressed dark memories, eyes burnt. it knows the people who were caught within the dreamloop by the metaeide of cycles, the saints who died by the cruel hands of the infernals — BYTE, BYTE, B Y T E —

goodbye, micah. it was an honor getting to exist with you. thank you for being my closest friend. for only ever believing in me —

don't you see? strange things have been happening from and to micah themself. micah is going to kill us all —

dream's voice breaks through the memory of grimgrins', quiet, but honest still, real enough to frighten micah who does not believe so. micah doesn't realize how much their body trembles until they see their knees nearly close to the sandy surface, deep guilt and grief borne on them. tears roll over their cheeks, more and more while their visions blur before they feel like blood is leaving them shaken terribly, all so broken. you did everything you could. YOU DID EVERYTHING YOU COULD. micah shakes their head in disbelief and they feel a body forming on them. byte's, dead. dead. DEAD / YOU KILLED BYTE — ❛ but was it truly enough? ❜

in response to their agony, the dreaming falls silence and the universe closes its eyes.

micah falls to the ground on sore knees, shakily sobbing, their sorrow sky shattering.

one by one, the stars flicker, then vanish, leaving above only the infinite darkness.

 Waken up in horror from the dream with the Narrator itself , Micah doesn't give an explanation to Warlock along with the others on xyr hastiness while xe dresses xemself up , preparing to leave Father Lucas' house ⅋ start searching for Adoniram . It seems as impossible finding him in the city of Los Angeles , but xe plans to visit a special place where they would always go when they were children ─ this area was only ever meant to be for Micah ⅋ Adoniram against the whole world . Realization sinks deep into xem , your presence near as an outer force . You have been glaring sharp daggers at nowhere in particular , but Micah is most painfully aware of who you're directing your anger towards : The Narrative . Bubbles of fury build in Micah's chest , Philos ⅋ Phobos sharing your displeasure to the Narrator .

 Micah attempts to reassure xyr starmates ⅋ you , trying to keep xyr voice still , unfearing despite the complete unawareness of Adoniram's current state . It's ironic though that either you're acknowledging the Narrative or not , it still plays out as it is now , delivering more words while creating more colours ⅋ images . . . Micah inhales a deep breath , an attempt to hold xemself together from the anxiety . Xe offers you a feeble smile as to provide you comfort , but it doesn't reach to xyr eyes that lack the starlight they usually carry . ❝ We have to find Adoniram . ❞ Micah doesn't want to dwell on the dream with the Narrator ─ its haunting inquiry . All xe cares about right now is finding Adoniram while ensuring that he's safe ⅋ alive . ❝ We have to hope . ❞ The Narrative can take away anyone , but never hope .
