M è sempre stato presente nella mia vita, dietro le quinte, come eterea comparsa. Quando eravamo bambini, abitavamo a 50 metri l'uno dall'altra; lui, di due anni più grande, era il migliore amico di uno dei miei vicini di condominio e veniva spesso a trovarlo. Si ricorda di me, quando bazzicavo in giardino, mentre io ho solo in mente le sue gote rosse e accaldate, gli occhi azzurri e dolci dietro un paio di occhiali stretti e trasparenti e una voce gentile. Era presente in oratorio, nel coro della chiesa, tra i corridoi della scuola, ad alcune festicciole tra amici in comune. Eppure, le nostre vite non si sono mai incrociate per davvero, fino ad un mese fa.

A causa di una mancanza di chiarimento più approfondito - e a mio avviso fondamentale - da parte di un medico, ho creduto di dover affrontare un esame clinico con una discreta percentuale di mortalità. Questo mi ha portato a rivalutare completamente la mia vita. Mi sono resa conto, improvvisamente, di star trascorrendo il mio tempo sempre in virtù di un domani migliore, trascurando completamente il presente, come se fosse solo una scocciatura, un periodo di passaggio.

Ebbene, cosa c'entra M in tutto questo?

In preda ad una rivoluzione totale del mio modo di vivere, mirato a ricavare il meglio ogni singolo giorno, senza pensare troppo al futuro, mi sono ritrovata improvvisamente a pensare a lui, vedendolo per puro caso tra i miei contatti social. Così, approfittando di un like ad una mia storia su Instagram, gli ho scritto. Sì, io che odio le chat e sono di altri tempi, io che fino a non poco tempo prima avevo avuto solo brutte esperienze e non volevo sapere più niente di uomini e, se proprio dovevo incontrarne uno, doveva avvenire di persona e con estrema cautela... Proprio io, gli ho scritto!

In realtà, c'è sempre stato qualcosa in lui che mi attirava. In tutte quelle occasioni del passato, l'ho guardato ogni volta da lontano, con il desiderio di parlargli e la curiosità conoscerlo. Perciò, a maggior ragione, quel giorno di metà luglio, sentivo dentro di me che dovevo contattarlo ad ogni costo; insomma, era arrivato il momento. Eppure, non mi aspettavo che si creasse un legame così particolare.

Ci sentiamo tutti i giorni da un mese. Siamo molto simili su tanti aspetti, ma abbiamo anche delle differenze che ci compensano; ho già trovato dei difetti, ma continua a piacermi, e abbiamo anche avuto dei momenti di scontro, che ci hanno avvicinati ancora di più; entrambi abbiamo sofferto molto e siamo intimoriti e avvolti nelle nostre corazze, pur essendo sinceri e autentici l'uno con l'altra. Non mi è mai capitato di sentirmi così naturale con un ragazzo che, in qualche modo misterioso, mi attrae. Sono fermamente convinta che lui sia una bellissima persona, ma adesso è pressoché essenziale incontrarci dal vivo, per andare fino in fondo e approfondire la conoscenza sempre di più, dato che lo vogliamo tutti e due.

Lui è come un tramonto sul mare, un fuoco che palpita, una chitarra che incanta le stelle; mi spaventa, come i brividi sopra un dirupo, ma allo stesso tempo mi spinge a volare; l'ho trovato tra sogni dispersi e illusioni di morte, come un faro tra anime perse. Forse sarà un altro abbaglio, forse dopo vari incontri ci sarà un sentimento non corrisposto, ma non mi importa. Ciò che si è creato finora è già prezioso e non me lo lascerò mai sfuggire, poiché il meglio va ricavato ogni giorno.
