Another one, but this time an AU - I've been watching Lockwood & Co on Netflix, so an AU where the Drew Crew run a school that trains teens to be ghost hunters 👀
I have not watched this show but I went with the general concept of a ghost hunting school...
send me an au + characters/ships and I'll write a small drabble
-/-
“Jules, listen. It’s about quality, not quantity.”
“But Miss Bess says…”
Ace sighs and flits his gaze knowingly over to Bess, who at the moment was working in the same classroom space with Nicolas on his supernatural vocabulary enunciation. He kneels down and takes the ten year olds hands in his, “Miss Bess likes to be efficient. There’s nothing wrong with that. But she’s got a few years’ experience on you. Let’s just focus on how well we can resolve a soul’s unfinished business than how many cases we close, ok?”
The young girl looks him over with wide brown eyes like he’s wiser beyond is years. And maybe he has a few strands of gray in his hair now a decade later from his own ghost chasing days. But he doesn’t feel any wiser than he was when he was running around the Bay with his own crew. It’s been five years since they started this program and still it’s hard to take in looks like this from the students at L.U.C.Y –  Learning University for Curious Youths.
They couldn’t go around calling it The Drew Crew Ghost School.
(at least that’s what Nick said when he was setting up funding for the school)
“Ok, Mr. Ace. Thank you,” offering him the simplest of smiles before scurrying away to go study the notes on the latest demo case they were using for class purposes.
(at least they call them demos so as to not scare the kids over past mysteries they’ve solved)
He suddenly feels a soft touch on his shoulder and a hummed kiss upon his cheek, “you work so well with her.”
“She’s a good kid,” remaining neutral.
“She has a great teacher,” Nancy muses as she spins him around to face her.
“Well, I also had a great teacher,” he playfully debates, finally taking a side.
She arches her left eyebrow and argues, “you didn’t need any teaching. If anything, you taught me the most important lesson of all.”
“Oh yeah…” pulling her into his space by winding his arms around her hips.
“Trust.”
“Hmm…yeah good lesson,” he agrees, pressing his lips to hers.

Isabella Eugénie Boyer was a French-American model and heiress. She was born in Paris to Louis Noël Boyer, an Africa-born French confectioner, and his English-born wife Pamela Lockwood (aka Pamilla). She married Isaac Merritt Singer, the founder of the Singer Sewing Machine Co., in New York City, in 1863 when Isaac was 52 and Isabella was only 22. Singer had a previous common-law wife, Mary Ann Sponsler, who had Isaac arrested for bigamy.
Isabella and Isaac moved to Paris, then to Oldway Mansion in Paignton, on the Devon coast, because New York society frowned on his many "families." They had six children; Sir Adam Mortimer Singer (1863—1929), Winnaretta Eugénie Singer (1865–1943), Washington Merritt Grant Singer (1866–1934), Paris Eugene Singer (1867–1932), Isabelle-Blanche Singer (1869–1896) and Franklin Merritt Morse Singer (1870–1939).
Isaac Singer is reported to have had a total of 22 children with his many paramours. Singer died in 1875 and left an estate of about $14 million, which at the time was a colossal sum of money. His two wills created family tension and lawsuits. Isabella was declared his legal widow.
On 8 January 1879, Isabella married a Dutch musician, Victor Reubsaet, and settled in Paris. Victor was an internationally successful singer and violinist. He was born in 1843 in Sittard, as Nicolas Reubsaet, a son of a simple shoemaker. Pretending to be of noble descent, he falsely claimed the title Vicomte d’Estenburgh. In 1881, he did obtain the title of Duke of Camposelice from Italian King Umberto I, in appreciation for a generous act of philanthropy in favor of the Italian colonies.
The Duchess of Camposelice was still a striking lady when she met the sculptor Bartholdi. It is rumoured she was his model for the Statue of Liberty, however this claim may not be correct.
Tumblr media
Victor Reubsaet died in September 1887 and Isabella was married, for the third time, in December 1891, to the art collector Paul Sohège.
Isabella Eugenia Boyer died at 62 years of age in 1904 in Paris.
In March 2022, an image supposedly showing Isabelle Boyer-Singer was widely circulated on social media, along with the claim that she was the original model for the Statue of Liberty. Well, that image still continues to circulate on the internet with the same caption, but it is not a photograph of Isabelle. It isn’t a photograph at all. It was created by photographer Bas Uterwijk in 2021, as part of a series of “AI portraits” of historical figures. Born in Amsterdam, Bas has a background in computer graphics, 3D animation, and special effects.
Anyway, while the Statue of Liberty is undoubtedly Bartholdi’s most famous work, he was very well known for another project. Years before he began the Lady — a gift from the people of France to the people of the United States, dedicated on October 28, 1886, and named Liberty Enlightening the World, in French La Liberté éclairant le monde — Bartholdi was hired to design a statue planned for the entrance to the Suez Canal in Egypt. A project inspired by ancient giant Egyptian statues and, eventually, to the Colossus of Rhodes, but that was never actually built due to high expenses.
Daily inspiration. Discover more photos at http://justforbooks.tumblr.com

'Elvis' daughter' Lisa Marie sleeps forever beside her son
Tumblr media
Lisa Marie Presley (54), daughter of the “King of Rock and Roll” Elvis Presley, has passed away.
Page Six reported on the 19th (local time), “The late singer was buried in Graceland Meditation Garden.”
A spokeswoman for Presley's eldest daughter, Riley Keough, told Page Six last week that "her mother's final resting place will be at Graceland, next to her beloved son Benjamin."
Benjamin passed away on July 27, 2020 due to an extreme choice.
His grave on Elvis Presley's Tennessee estate was slightly moved to enshrine his mother's body.
"They moved Benjamin's grave to make room for Lisa in the cemetery behind the house," said the property manager.
Elvis and his parents, Gladys Presley and Vernon Presley, are also buried in the same spot.
Lisa Marie's public memorial service will be held on the lawn in front of Graceland at 9 am on the 22nd.
Previously, Lisa Marie died of a heart attack on the 12th at her home in Calabasas, California, USA.
Lisa Marie spent time at Graceland to celebrate the 88th birthday of her father, Elvis, almost a week before her death.
Meanwhile, Lisa Marie released her first album 'To Whom It May Concern' in 2003, and she worked as a singer. She has been married to musician Danny Keough, pop star Michael Jackson, actor Nicolas Cage, and guitarist Michael Lockwood.

YESSSSS BESTIE
2. top 5 books of all time
This isn’t in order :))
- Silmarillion, JRR Tolkien. Of course.
- Piranesi, Susanna Clarke. This is a really beautiful story that I’ll recommend to anyone. Stunning and mind-bending with an unforgettable protagonist.
- The Emperor’s Babe, Bernardine Evaristo. It should be illegal for a book to be this underrated. A perfect blend of anachronism, humour, tragedy, heart, and violence that I’ve never stopped thinking about.
- Parable of the Talents , Octavia E Butler. Both books in this duology absolutely own, but the second book is just perfection. Through three narrators it raises some fascinating questions about trauma, societal collapse, religion, family, how to treat people, what kind of world we want to live in and so much more without ever feeling preachy or providing easy answers.
- My Dark Vanessa, Kate Elizabeth Russell. Feels like being flayed open.
6. What books have you read in the last month?
Since May 14th I’ve finished (most recent first):
- Valley of the Dolls, Jaqueline Susann (3*)
- No One is Talking About This, Patricia Lockwood (4*)
- Velvet was the Night, Silvia Moreno Garcia (3.5*)
- Magma, Thora Hjörleifsdóttir (3*)
- Notes on an Execution, Danya Kukafka (4.5*)
- Fever Dream, Samanta Schweblin (4)
- Nothing Can Hurt You, Nicola Maye Goldberg (4)
- The Hunting Party, Lucy Foley (3*)
- Dial A For Aunties, Jesse Sutanto (4.5*)
- His Only Wife, Peace Adzo Medie (3.5*)
- Magpie, Elizabeth Day (2.5*)
- The Other Black Girl, Zakiya Dalila Harris (3.5*)
- Vicious, V.E. Schwab (4*)
- Into the Drowning Deep, Mira Grant (3.5*)
- Let the Right One In, John Ajvide Lindqvist (3*)
- The Handmaid’s Tale, Margaret Atwood (4*)
And I’m currently reading:
- Mouthfull of Birds, Samanta Schweblin
- A Manual For Cleaning Women, Lucia Berlin
19. Most disliked popular books?
I really can’t bear the Rainbow Rowell Simon Snow series 😬 it’s just such blatant Drarry fanfic it’s embarrassing. Sorry to these books.
THANK YOU!!!!

Smouldering-eyed pop culture princess Lisa Marie Presley’s life was a roller-coaster ride of heartache and tragedy that only ended with her death. The only daughter of iconic rock star Elvis Presley, Lisa Marie shared her father’s stunning good looks and personal demons.
Since she was born, Lisa Marie has been in the public spotlight and has struggled to find her place in the unrelenting world of Hollywood, the paparazzi, and having a famous father. In 2020, her son Benjamin Keough fatally shot himself. Lisa Marie’s final social media post is a chilling coda to her turbulent, sad life.
She shared a link on Aug. 30, 2022, to an essay she penned for People magazine for National Grief Awareness Day. "Grief is something you will have to carry with you for the rest of your life, despite what certain people or our culture want us to believe," she wrote in the essay. You do not "get over it" or "move on," period.
The King of Rock and Roll reportedly wept when he saw his wife holding his beautiful baby girl, born on February 1, 1968, in Memphis to parents Elvis and Priscilla Presley. The pair broke up when Lisa Marie was just four years old. After the divorce, she split her time between her father's home in Memphis and Priscilla's, who had moved to LA. According to reports, the father and daughter were "thick as thieves" when they discovered her father dead in his washroom at Graceland in 1977. She was nine.
Her eldest daughter, Riley Keough, later said Lisa Marie would become weepy when she heard her father’s music decades later.
Lasting love would remain elusive for Lisa Marie until the day she died. She first married fellow Scientologist Danny Keough in 1988. The marriage resulted in the birth of Riley and Benjamin.
And then, bizarrely, she married Michael Jackson in 1994. Lisa Marie would say they met in 1975 following a Las Vegas concert. Years later, they reconnected. But the marriage was plagued by the troubled Billie Jean singer’s pill-popping and accusations that he was sexually abusing children. Lisa Marie later said she had been “sucked into” believing the singer was merely “misunderstood” and wanted to save him.
In 2002, she married actor Nicolas Cage. The marriage lasted a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it 107 days. He filed for divorce after they “failed to stabilize each other’s lives.”
Next was musician Michael Lockwood, whom she married in 2006. The marriage lasted 10 years and produced twins Finley and Harper, but a decade later, they were at each other’s throats in a bitter divorce battle.
As a Hollywood wild child, Lisa Marie became addicted to drugs in her teens. Numerous stints in a Scientology rehab centre appeared to do the trick—but it was a lifelong battle. She later admitted that by 2003, she had fallen off the wagon in a big way. The singer-songwriter would recall seeing Elvis gobble handfuls of pills. Lisa Marie said a therapist once told her that.
But as her marriage to Lockwood broke down, she began pounding cocaine again with a new chaser—opioids. The struggle became so intense that her two youngest daughters went to live with her mother, Priscilla, while she did "three to five" stints in a Mexican rehab.
Money was never a problem for Lisa Marie Presley until it was. At 25, she took control of the Elvis Presley Enterprises (EPE) trust, worth more than $100 million, which had been cannily managed by Priscilla, exploiting her late husband’s massive popularity. She appointed a respected Hollywood money manager to oversee the trust. In 2005, he sold 85% of her share in EPE, her father’s name, and image rights. Barry Siegel said the sale cleared $20 million in debts Lisa Marie had built up and put $40 million in her pocket, along with millions in yearly payouts.
With each personal setback, Lisa Marie seemed to bounce back until she couldn't anymore. Her death warrant may have effectively been signed on July 12, 2020--the day her son Benjamin Keough, 27, shot himself. The coroner labelled it a suicide.

Morre Lisa Marie Presley, filha de Elvis
Tumblr media
